on wednesday governor jerry brown met with state leaders to discuss california's ongoing drought. >>james:the latest numbers show that urban users in southern california actually increased their water use in the last few months. >>james:in february, water savings were less than three percent. >>james:since then the governor has ordered a 25% mandatory reduction. >>james:but despite the recent numbers. the governor remained optimistic saying he believes the drought can be overcome. >>:we have the right technology and the right people and we will make it work. >>james:the governor has also been criticized for not requiring more conservation from farmers but he says the ag economy has been hurt enough. >>james:meanwhile. the city of mountain view has been commended by the state water board for doing a good job of conserving water. >>james:the city has cut back 15% over the last year.saving nearly 600-million gallons. >>james:but if the water board's proposed mandatory cutbacks are approved -- they'll have to do even better. >>james:the city will be asked for an additional reduction target of 20%.
