livermore belief steve gored. >> we the driving force for our agency was realizing a long time ago that body cameras were the wave often the future. our agency has always wanted to be a leader in technology, so we started this process back in february of 2014, about researching the different styles of body camel has that officers would wear, and brought in several different manufacturers. we tested it over a several- month time period, and based on the officer's feedback made a decision to go with taser international body cameras. >> there are cameras mounted on the officers chests. yours are mounted on the should per what dishes does that make? -- the shoulder. what difference does that make? >> well, some people like the ones mounted to the chest, be some the collar. the collar for a me provided a better field of view. this can connect to a pair of such glasses or reading glasses for the officer that do wear

mode, which it records all the time. we get out on a stop, we press it twice, it activated it, and there's a live view there. so that's a live view. that allows us to look to see if its positioned appropriately, so we get the best view. sometimes if it bumps, it will go up and down slightly. allows us to adjust it, and then once we go in service, we can review it, at the end of a call for service, and which we are able to put in a title for what the call for service was if there's a case number associated with it. >> is this fed by your phone into a server, or do you have to uplloyd it once you get back to the station? >> there's a set 0 docking stations within our department, and at the end of the night, you put your camera and your battery pack in the docking station. during your offtime, while the videos are uploaded to the cloud through evidence.com, and it's a secure cloud in which all of those are stored and they get retention dates. >> and they can't be tampered with by anyone.

>> no, an officer can review the footage for case reports, but they can't ed it anything. the only thing they can do is add a title to it, say if it's a citizen contact, pet stop, or traffic stop >> there are reports about privacy issues, specifically west victims of crime, something like this, who may not want that reported. what is your policy? >> our policy dictates if we go to a call for service where there's a victim of a crime, it's a very dynamic crime scene. the cameras will be rolling until everything is is kind of stabilized. once it's stabilized if the victim wants it to not be recorded, an example would be sex crimes, and we respect that and turn it off. people who are victims of residentth burglars. if they don't want that recorded, we will honor that request. >> and there was a buy-in by the police officer for get, these cameras? >> that's right. our officers had lot of input
