three hours ago when i drove to the area with u.s. officials. you could see flames shooting into the arab and black smoke going into the air as well. this is a fire that continues to grow. acres have burned at this point. mark lee dill the town of 200 people bridge to the northwest. when it has shipped to the west. but the good news is that the plant is not as strong as the work two days ago to rid people living in this time or in this town are remaining optimistic. >> it is a little historic town and everyone seems pretty sure that we will get through this. >> reporter: this is some video of the town. a very small town just one gas co.

services in here to protect these homes. hellfire was here in as well. to make water drops on the fire s fortunately they were able to bring water here very quickly. to get it under control all of the flames moved up to the edges but no homes were lost or damaged and no one was injured in this fire. as you move on. using hoses to put out hot spots to keep it from flaring back up. of course, would not want to get this fireback going again. it is very hot out here. things are under control here in fairfield and no exact cause as to what started the fire. charles clifford kron4 news

>> pam: a judge says, nine san francisco police officers will remain on paid leave. during an investigation into the racist texts messages which were uncovered. >> pam: the judge says, he is trying to decide whether the department waited too long to dicipline them. police chief greg suhr is asking that seven officers. be dismissed and six others to be suspended. >> pam: the text messages were made over a two- year period. around 20-12.they came to light in march. nine of the officers are suing the city. arguing that the department should have dicipilined them years ago. >> pam: but the department says, releasing the text messages earlier. could have jeopardized a federal investigation. >> pam: new images and audio tonight. showing the arrest of the confessed killer in the charleston church massacre. police in shelby north carolina, released this dashcam video of the arrest of 21- year old dylann roof. >> pam: he was stopped. after a passing motorist recognized him. and called 9-1-1. here is a recording of the dispatch response. >>south carolona tag black hyundai. and the boy has a bowl looking haircut. county, we just stopped a vehicle near plato lee road. confirmed it is the suspect in the charleston

and. >>he went like that and that >> reporter:this is 13 year old redman collins showing me how a suspect tried to break into the family homemonday on the other side of the door, was redman and his two younger brothers and the family dog. >>redman collins/foiled burglar he was bigger than all three of us together, yeah and he had a backback too. q. where you scared? no. i had a weapon a kitchen knife. >> reporter:redman says the burglarly suspect first walked into the home before trying to break in. >>we were just watching tv and i said, who is that as i saw come in and my dog starting barking and scared him out. >> reporter:this is the family dog ace. redman says when the man left and he locked the door. then he called 911 and took charge of his younger brothers. >>i said go to the bedroom and lock the door. the boys mom had just stepped out to go get morning breakfast - when redman called her. she said she is grateful >> reporter:the kids say they watched from the window as police arrived quickly and got the suspect. >>-- he said - i surrender.

suffered serious burns. and his home is severely damaged. that's after a fire sparked early this morning. while he was working in his garage. >> pam: burns to his upper body. and is expected to survive. police say, the man was trying to fix a hole in his car's gas tank. >> pam:he removed the gas from the car to weld the car part. but the vapors inside sparked the fire. the house is currently red tagged, but crews were able to save the majority of the home. >> pam:a police officer shoots a fellow k-9 officer. in an east bay city. >> pam:tonight investigators tell kron4's haaziq madyun, the officer may have been under attack by the k-9. when the shooting happened. >>"the dog was outside of the vehicle" >> reporter:that is when it happened here in this employee parking lota richmond police k-9 officer somehow got out of this vehicle around 6:30am tuesday morning and got into a violent confrontation with a fellow rpd officer who was on his way into the police department to report for duty
