and the city of san francisco gearing up for the 4th of july celebration. takeing look outside rightnow, the night sky will be lit up with a massive fireworks display. good morning everybody, happy 4th of july, thanks for joining us. i am martygonzales. for many people, fireworks will be a bighighlight for our 4th of july intrapgs tonight celebration tonight. kron 4 news takes a look at where you can catch some of the best fireworks show shows in

the area. in berkeley, this year, display lee webb lawnplay off of-- >> in the south bay, fireworks display will be held in san jose, fireworks kicking off at 9:30 . authorities will be offering expanded service to help people get to the show. on the north baythere will be fireworks on the county fair of santa rosa. big question of course in san francisco, are we going to be able to see the fireworks as we say good to brian. >> good morning, it is a tricky forecast, it is right about the time that the low clouds are rolling in.

i am hoping that the low clouds will stay high enough that the fireworks can go up underneath the clouds. as we get in peralez mre son tant and san jose. you notice in the live shot there. we had lowclouds and boo the south bay and east bay with some gray skies to start things out. as we go throughthe day, look for clouds toe clear through about 10 a.m. this morning. as we go in the afternoon hours, sunny skies and still great conditions hanging on at the beaches and a warm day with temperatures getting up in the 90s for the inland valleys. here is howit looks for the fireworks tonight at 9:00. lowclouds in the bay towards oakland and san francisco. temperatures mid-60s. low 70s in pleasanton and san

drug warrant. thesheriff's office says once he's determined he had no warrant, he was released from jail. this despitethe fact that i asked if he would be notified whn henne he's out of custody. law enforcement shall not detain an individual based on an individual. in2014 the sheriff made a policy saying his department will no longer honor the detainer unless the judge says there is a probable cause or there is a warrant of arrest. policies need to change to benefiteveryone. >> this is somebody that you would not twoont let want to

let out on the streets. >> the sheriff's office is pointing their fingers at ice saying that if ice wanted to detain this man, they should have got nl a federal warrant to do so. that would negated the city's ordinance in this case. presidential candidate donald trump is weighting in on the shooting. we'll show you how trump is using that shooting to renew his push for toucher immigration laws. happening right now, police are looking for two men who took a young boy hostage while robbing the store. one of them grabbed the 4-year-old boy whohappens to be in the store and threatened to shoot the boy. the men got the keys and stole somejewelry. the boy was not injured but was very upset.

last year, chestnut ate 671 hot ate 61 hotdogs in 21 minutes. he was the record holder backin 2013. chestnut's biggest competition tomorrow ismatt stoney who finished second last year trailing by six hot dogs. ton s. stoney is also from san jose. why expert say one of the biggest concerns could be right in your backyard. we want to show you where you can catch some of the bay area's fireworks show tonight, take a look at your screen and we'll be right back.

let's go ahead and get the forecast forthis holiday week, our meteorologist, brian has that. >> sunshine is showing at the bridge already. it is still great out there to start the day today. as wego flu the morning, we'll see a lot of sunshine and warm temperatures. a lot of 80s and 90s popping up. not quite as hot as what we had earlier this week. this morning, look for the skies to clear by the bay around 10 a.m.. for the afternoon, sunny skies andwarm temperatures but still cloudy at the coast. all the way through the afternoon and for the fireworks, where is the fog going to be? well, i think it will be by the bay, san francisco, for the valley, san jose, mostly clear. here is fog trackerat 8 a.m.. there is the clouds by the bay stillhanging out in santa rosa. this should back outuntil 10 a.m.. those will not affect us for

today. through the afternoon, a lot of sun but notice the fog hanging out here at the coast all the way through the afternoon and that means by the time we get into the evening, the low clouds just ready to push back in. 9 p.m. right about the fireworkstime, we have the low clouds in san francisco and into towards hayward and now in live moore valley it r mror valleymore vally, it will be clear. south bay going into the 80s or awarm afternoon. some low 90s in the inland valleys. here is a look ahead through this afternoon. again,the sunshine 70s by the bay. tomorrow, low cloudswill be more extensive in the morning and we'll have to wait around noon to see the sunshine in san francisco. temperatures come down a few degrees.

the same is true for monday. a little bit cooler sowe have a cooling trend going through the holiday weekend here. that'll persist through the next week. look for mild temperatures by the timetuesday and wednesday rolls around with a lot of heavy fog and highs by the bay in the upper 60s and low 80s inlands. marty. brian, thank you. >> we have breaking news from the south bay this morning. that's where a man has been stabbed todeath. san jose police call to the area of north king road near alum rock avenue. officers found aman with one stabbed wounds. he later died at thehospital. they're not identifying the victim justyet. we'll continue to stay on top of the story. u.s. officials have warnings for everyone who's celebrating 4th of july today. threats from isis militants,

warning signs for the holiday weekend. kron 4news has the story on one man's close encounter. >> a juvenile white shark. >> whoo, right out here is where i saw the shark. >> marin biologist shot that video on wednesday right out there north of the cement shift. >> i started getting it on video. five seconds in the video, the shark changed course and came right at me and dove under my kayak. >> most of them are about ten feet long. he showedme a jawbone from a shark, he says he was not too worried.

we are back on kron 4 news. joey chestnut isgoing for his ninth consecutive nathan's hot dog eat eating style. today, it is taking place in new york. last year, joey chestnut ate 61 hot dogs in ten minutes. that's equivalent about 20, 000 calories. he was the record holder when he downed 69 hot dogs back at the contest in 2013. his biggestcompetition is matt stoney finished second last year trailing by six hot dogs. stoney is also from san jose. >> let's go ahead and take a look outside. we'll beright back.

fireworks time for san francisco, i think it is going to be cloudy and hopefully, the fog is getting deep enough that it will lift high enough for the fireworks to go right underneath that. some yearsthe low clouds are very low and the fireworks go s go right in the clouds. north bay, and napa valley did clear out. and by 10 a.m., that's all back to the coast, look at the fog hanging on late morning and through the afternoon. if you want to go to thecoast and enjoy some beach time, well, you also enjoy some cloudy skies. there will be a few breaksof sunshine, eventually, as we get in the ianing, notice what happens to the low clouds into the bay around hayward and berkeley and oakland and getting close to livermore. i think it is going to hang up here at 9 p.m.. the fireworks are looking good

we are back on kron 4 news thi week. you are looking at a cell phone video showing a punish man fisherman hooking the shark this morning. the fisherman throw threw it back in the water. so far, ten people have been attacked off the coast of the carolinas this year. >> the carolinas are not the only place dealing with an influx of sharks. life guard are putting up warning signs. >> juvenile white sharks right aurnd my class. under my class. >> right out here is where i saw the shark. >> he shot that video on wednesday right out there north of the ship.

big news that we have been following all week long, the man accused of murdering a pleasanton woman along the embarcadero was recently released from prison. this was a random act of violence. says his girlfriend has -- francisco sanchez was free to walk the streets in spite of his long rap. >> many questions have been raised into why the alleged shooter francisco sanchez was on the streets. i spoke to julie myers would do was head of the agency from 2006 until 2008. >> we have the official policy that they will not cooperate [ indiscernible - intermittent audio ] there are jurisdictions that have varying levels of cooperation. for practical purposes, when they are serious criminal, even if they know they are there the

new for you this morning, it still needs to be finalized but diplomats working with iran say there is a tentative agreement as part of the nuclear deal. these sanctions have been one of the toughest issues to iron out for both sides. they have been trying to move forward on the deal since november 2013. negotiators are pushing to wrap up the agreement before the deadline on tuesday. a helicopter crashed killing the pilot in colorado. two other medical workers where -- were on board and they survived. look at the massive plume of smoke. it happen on friday near frisco, colorado. firefighters swarmed the area trying to put out the flames. witnesses say to helicopter

it will be sunny. that's the case everywhere with the exception of the beaches which may clear out a little bit later on today. santa cruz is looking at sunshine in the afternoon, a high of 77. nice area at the boardwalk, half moon bay in pacifica a little cool. upper 50s to the low 60s at ocean beach. we have a little bit of sunshine , the clouds will redevelop as we get into this evening and it looks like they are going to push in over the south of san francisco. with the cost -- the cost of electricity is going up in california. a new residential rate has been approved. it increases rates on more efficient rates where big energy users will see a break. it's the first overall in 15 years. said those consumer advocates have tried unsuccessfully to pass a plan that would provide

oakland, berkeley. i think they will be high enough that the fireworks will still be underneath the ceiling of the clouds. marin county fair should be clear, also the alameda county fair and for san jose. it should be upper 60s and low 70s. off to the east a few showers are taking place. subtropical moisture coming up from mexico continues its days to the east of the bay area. a big weather system in the pacific will slowly make its way closer to us over the next several days. it's taking its time. each day we will see progressively cooler temperatures, upper 60 today, 70s close to the bay, low 80 s. bay, low 90s east bay valley. looking ahead for the rest of the week, flawed -- file will be clearing between 10:00 and 11:00 this morning. temperatures tomorrow will get cooler.
