0. welcome back. happen sunday everyone. a live look at our walnut creek camera. and we are looking at partly sunny conditions. it's going to be a warm day four in livermore. good morning to you. you're now at 63 degrees right now at this hour. i just updated that number. low 80s at lunchtime expected and 88 is our high today. we'll hit that around three to 4 p.m.
8:46 am
this afternoon. look for a westerly breeze at around knife to ten miles per hour. temperatures will be cooling down into the mid 70s so temperatures are a little bit cooler today compared to yesterday. right now 57 in downtown san francisco. low 60s for our friends in san jose. you started off cool this morning. our wind speed still calm at this hour. pretty much all across the bay area. we have some lighter winds but overall a very quiet morning. our peninsula forecast looks like this so may see some cloudy conditions right now for the coast but we will be seeing more sunshine for this afternoon. low 70s in downtown san francisco so a nice day in the city. low 80s in redwood city. heading farther south a lot of 80s here, warming up to 83 in san jose. so i call that shorts

next weekend. >> we're going to talk a little travel now as hotels and resorts are doing a lot of things to stand out against a very crowded field. if you're up for an adventure you might want to think about wild nights in canada. a place that a whole lot of folks don't think about and that's quebec. >> absolutely. there's a lot of reasons, sometimes it's food, sometimes it's sunshine. today we're going to talk about going after a little adventure. so canada in the quebec region, north of the area but it's area kind of unknown. this is what's waiting for you. this is the tree house you always wanted as a kid but your parents wouldn't build for you. and these are kind of like fiberglass bubbles. park adventure they're fast nature to go look at. and you get inside and there's this incredible use of space. you stand there and spin around
8:49 am
because there's not a whole lot of room but look at the view. they're just fun. if there's a way to describe it, they're just fun, you get there and look at them and everything you needs inside of them. they're incredibly well stocked those steps in the middle take you up to the top bunk. there's a double level. so behind that shelving is a set of bunk beds. the curb summons pull around and you can sleep four. >> you can sleep four. >> well four people that like each other. it's a little cozy but you're not going to spend a whole lot of time in there. the park has hiking and all of this great stuff to do and zip lining. >> i know a lot of people would be looking at it and. >> so on that note what i will say is the night that i was in there we had a big thunderstorm didn't feel a thing. >> really? >> didn't feel a thing. so they
8:50 am
are incredibly stable. you are not swaying, there's a deck around the whole thing. >> good to know and i saw that relationship ramp to get you there. >> it's not that skinny. >> okay. good. >> okay so more hiking if you are a fan of hiking you will also love our next. those falls are actually higher than niagara. so that gives you a sense of perception, and if you're feeling like energetic you can hike, or you can take a cable car. this is a company town that was built around these falls because there was a mill at the base of the falls, okay. they're beautiful inside and out. some of them are just like they looked then some of them have been restored to look like this. so it's a nice place for you to spend, relax do some
8:51 am
outdoor activities but have a comfy place to call the night so you have a little bit of history and outside altogether. and the mill is still there. it's 40 no buildings you can still go in and tour it. this is the original schoolhouse. so really there's a lot of history that you can kind of mix into which is really nice. it gives you a -- >> and no crowds. >> no crowds. absolutely. and you know, this is a seasonal destination. so here's the thing you're going to want to go they're open through october essentially but no crowds the entire time we were there. >> and roughly what's the cost. >> so this one kind of works as a package. so i think a little over $200 but that's also going to include your dinner which is a sit down restaurant and your breakfast the next morning. >> so our next one isn't so much
8:52 am
about luxery it's about habitat. . >> that sounds like horror movie. >> for my morning walk. >> you saw this on your morning walk. >> this was my morning walk. i'm not quite sure that they were warning each other that i was on the move but they had already woken everybody up so this is kind of the remote of the three. this is about a 4-hours drive from quebec city. this is three packs of wolfs. they're in really large enclosures about five acres or so but three different packs. there are a couple very small cabins. that type of thing that you can be right outside of the enclosure. so if you roll the right way in bed you can see them out the window. and they're very cheyenne mals with the exception this is the
8:53 am
smallest of the packs, and so the first thing they saw when they were born were humans and they might as well just be puppies. now, that being said there are a lot of safety things you go through. these are wild animals but you will get in there and you will practically forget where you are because they -- i think they enjoy you possibly more. i have to tell you they were so taken and look at that. they were just like a puppy and two of them are on the smaller side. look at that. >> so go with a little sense of adventure you can spend the night for a little bit extra $38 you go in and you can do this and there is a time limit. it's based on the owner when they've had enough they'll let you know. >> that is fascinating. it's an area that not a whole lot of
8:54 am
folks know about. >> it is a very not so known destination that's worth checking out. >> that's a lot. we'll see you soon. >> if you're thinking about doing some things for the weekend closer to home how about this in san francisco is taking place today from ten until four. plenty of exhibits. food trucks but it's happening today. it's pediatric friendly admission is three bucks. see you there.

to pay a toll to cross the golden gate bridge? bridge officials have been considering this as a possibility to help cover a huge budget deficit. right now lawmakers urging governor jerry brown to sign a bill that would prevent walkers walking across the bridge and do it for free. joining me to talk about this is assemblymember phil ting. thank you for joining us today. there was a toll in 1937 when the bridge opened, all of 10 cents. >> right. >> why not just go back to that to help raise some money to close the deficits? >> sure. well, the bridge authority has about 45 different ideas to close the deficit. we're edge couraginging them to look at the other 44. we just passed major climate change less, look at ways to limit green house gases, and so we're trying to encourage walking and takes mass transit, so we think this is the wrong

message to send when we're trying to make a huge impact on climate change. and a fee less ends the ability for someone to do something. so if you look at what we're doing, we're incentivizing golden gate, electric vehicles, public transit, bicycling. we want to incentivize and not disinsent inize it. >> and this would actually, if the bridge district were to go through with its plans, this would include both bicyclist and walkers, correct? >> that's correct. >> where do thinks stand as far as yea or nay >> the bill on the governor's desk, he has until october 11 tooth sign it, so for anyone interested, we are encouraging you to contact the governor. >> what happens if he doesn't sign it? >> it goes into law. he has to practically veto it. >> and this law would cover all

bridges in california. >> that's right. this would make sure that no bridge charges a toll. >> ask there a precedent for charging to cross bridges in the united states? >> there's also no precedent to charge for bridges. basically only bridges that are border crossing bridges actually charge. so the brooklyn bridge, for example, doesn't charge for pedestrians or bikers. >> just imagine the money they could raise if they did. >> (laughing) >> so the way it stands right now is the bill on the governor's disk. you're waiting to find out one way or another what's going to happen here. has there been any discussion from the bridge district about the amount that it would charge if this were to -- if this proposal would be defeated? >> they haven't. once the bill didn't focus only on the bridge itself, that actually went neutral. so they're agnostic on this bill, which is great, so the bill has no opposition at this points, and we're very hopeful that the govern her sign it so he can send a message. he's going to paris, talking
9:51 am
about climate change. he's going to wanted more bikers and walkers all around the state. >> this would seem to be an easy home run for the governor, since he has been promoting more of a green california. >> absolutely. we think so. we know he wants to see more walkers and bikers, but wants people in public transit, more electric vehicles. and this kind of behavior reducing green house gas, so we wants to encourage it. >> again, the did line is on october 11 wet, and that's going to be d-day, so to speak, and we'll find out when where the governor falls on this. support on both sides of the aisle on this propose until >> absolutely. this went through with almost no opposition throughout the legislature, so we're very excited. we think this is a strong bill going to the governor's death, and with him going to paris, it's part of his overall climate change package. and duo see this as a slam dunk? >> that's the way we look at it. >> all right, thank you for
