the big news this morning, a hiker found shot to death and the killer still on the loose this morning. we have been following this story. joining us live approximate with the update, jackie? . >>reporter: good morning. i'm at the marine county sheriff's office. still looking for the killer or killers of the 78-year-old man found dead on a trail, just west of fairfax. released the surveillance video of two people that may have knowledge of this case. here's the surveillance video. could be as many as three people, a woman and two men. a convenience store a little bit east of where the murder took place on monday night. yesterday, we covered the story, it was on old railroad grave trail where they discovered the body of 78-year- old steve carter.

not a resident of marin, helping his wife who is going through chemotherapy. his dog was also shot and the dog survived. they believe that the suspects may have stolen his car to get away from the scene. yesterday, we did have a chance to talk to the slaufd representative, a lieutenant, looking for the persons of interest that they are anxious to get ahold of. >> one of them, wearing a tie- dyed t-shirt. and the woman with dirty hair. and no vehicle. so they must have stolen it and left the area. >> if you have any knowledge,

with the ten-year-old boy. and then stabbed him with a knife. passengers saw what happened and able to restrain her until police arrived. and the boy had a few injuries. the woman is facing charges of assault and attempted murder. trying to convince fema poom that they owe fees for missing jury duty. and could be arrested if they don't pay up. and not calling anyone orr the phone or asking for any personal information. flooding continues in south carolina. tell you what the salvation army and red cross are doing to help. not too early to shop for krils.

new this morning, another case of bedbug infestation at a bay area library. annie hong is at the breaking news desk to tell us where. >> reporter: the menlo park library on alma street is closed this morning, after they found a bedbug in a public seating area. the entire library will be closed through at least tonight so that pest control workers can inspect, clean and treat the library. city managers say this was an isolated incident in one area of the library, but the whole library will be searched. a bedbug sniffing dog will evaluate the area tomorrow. the bell haven branch library will remain open today. this is the fourth bay area library to close its doors because of bedbugs in just three weeks. last week, the mitchell park library in palo alto closed because of bedbug infestations and the berkeley north branch library was closed two weeks ago after bed bugs were found. back to you. >> thank you, annie.

happening now, a warning to parents in the north bay. a man tried to lure a 10-year- old girl into his car in rohnert park in the area of beverly drive and barry court. the man offered the girl, repeatedly offered her a ride as she was walking home from school. he then drove off as soon as another car pulled up behind him. police are looking for the man this morning. we're learning more about the young woman found dead in golden gate park in san francisco last weekend. she has now been identified as 23-year-old audrey kerry. kerry was found in a wooded area by jfk drive and bernice rogers way. kerry was a tourist visiting from quebec. relatives say she was on her first solo backpacking trip that would have taken her all the way to europe. it's unclear if kerry attended the bluegrass festival going on over the weekend. her body was found beaten saturday morning about a half mile away from the festival. >> the investigation where she

was actually murdered, how her body came there and the manner in which everything happened. >> obviously, it is a tragedy whenever there is a loss of life. we're asking anyone who recognizes her photo to contact police because we want to see who she came in contact with or if there is anyone who recognizes her to trace her steps back before the event happened. >> the music festival is a free event, so there are no tickets to track attendees. police do not know of a motive or have any suspects in her murder. recent inmate deaths and the suspension of correctional officers are bringing a lot of attention to the santa clara county jail. now the board of supervisors has approved the creation of a 25-member blue ribbon commission to oversee jail operations. the commission will look at the inmate deaths, as well as the officers' suspensions. the most recent suspensions involve two correctional deputies and the union president. the union president reportedly made more than $200,000 last year. and opponents of the new right to die legislation in

california are launching a drive for a referendum to overturn the law. a group called seniors against suicide filed paperwork with the attorney general's office yesterday, asking that the issue be placed on the ballot in november of 2016. they will have to collect more than 365,000 signatures. governor jerry brown signed the bill into law on monday, allowing doctors to prescribe legal drugs to terminally ill patient so they could end their own lives. and the valley fire, to our north, now 100% contained. more than 76,000 acres were burned across three counties since the fire started last month. four people died. 1307 homes were destroyed. the red cross and salvation army have been helping those affected since the fire first broke out. thousands of people who were evacuated are owl allowed back into their neighborhoods. 5:07 now. the search for a bay area tech worker has been suspended after his boat capsized in alameda county on friday.

crews say they are temporarily suspending their search at lake deval, 10 miles from livermore. the man has been missing since friday. his boat capsized about 50 yards from shore. everyone else on that same boat made it safely back to shore, but he is missing. the east bay park officials say the boat was over capacity when it started to fill up with water. the man was a salesforce coworker, out there doing team building activities. salesforce issued a statement saying their thoughts are with his family and friends. happening today, governor jerry brown is expected to sign an aggressive climate change bill to increase the state's renewable electricity. the measure would increase california's renewable electricity use to 50% and double energy efficiency on existing buildings by the year 2030. california is already on target to generate at least a third of its electricity from renewable sources by 2020. and yesterday, the governor made history after signing a

tough new equal pay law. the law allows women to allege pay discrimination based on wages paid to other employees for similar work. it also puts the burden on employers to prove a man's higher pay is based on factors other than gender. the law also protects workers from retaliation for asking about how much other people make. the governor says he's also considering a law banning companies from using previous salary information to justify paying women less than men. about 500 nurses are on strike once again today in contra costa county. let's take a look at video from yesterday's protests at the county regional medical center. the strike follows more than 13 months of talks with the board of supervisors. the nurses want pay raises and benefits matching that of other bay area hospital employees. contra costa county public hospital nurses make 20 to 30% less than private hospitals in the bay area. and sonoma county sheriff's department is under fire.

there are allegations of brutal and unprovoked beatings of more than 20 inmates. a lawyer for two of the inmates filed a lawsuit in federal court. the attorney says it started when some of the inmates yelled at guards to stop torturing an inmate who didn't wake up quickly enough. family members of the alleged victims read letters about what they say happened. >> while in my cell with four men on top of me, while i was not resisting, the deputy was in my face saying i was a [ bleep ] and this was his house. before they took me down the stairs, he spit in my face. >> in a statement posted on social media, the sheriff's department denies the allegations of torture. the incident is currently under review. it's 5:10 right now. still ahead, a warning this morning as parents are dropping their kids off to school. why officials are working to stop parents from idling their cars near the schools.

view for the inland east bay valleys. that's the likeliest place we'll see low 80s today, unlike yesterday when we settled in the upper 70s. more 80s today. 83 for walnut creek, 82 in concord. 85 to 83 for delta communities. 83 to 84 for the livermore valley. so that will be kind of our warmest spot around the bay. we'll have awfully nice conditions in the south bay and north bay, with upper 70s to very low 80s. temperatures around the bayshore line, low to mid-70s, depending where you are and which side of the bay you are. but it's going to be nice and comfortable no matter where you are. three-day outlook, we talked about today, thursday, friday, a few clouds in the afternoon. temperatures gradually warming. again, still setting up for a very nice weekend with fleet week beginning in earnest on friday. beautiful for the blue angels with relatively clear skies and warm temperatures in san francisco. more on that forecast coming up in a bit. now to traffic, george. we're going to start off

with a look at san francisco, with a stall here on the sky way, westbound. normally this wouldn't be of any interest or concern except that its location, the possibility exist it is could start the ride at the bay bridge if it manages to back up traffic onto the upper deck. so far that's not the case, but we'll keep an eye on it. right now, no delays to the bridge, just an 11-minute trip time out of the macarthur maze. ride from the east bay over to san mateo looks good this morning with highway 92 traffic clear from 880 out to 101. 101, golden gate bridge, delay- free now, southbound through marin county and problem-free across the span. richmond bridge ride to san pfaff rail looks good. an 8-minute trip time from the toll plaza now heading out

toward the 101-580 interchange. south carolina still feeling the effects of unprecedented flooding. at least 15 people are dead and damages are estimated to top a billion dollars. people are stepping up to help with relief efforts. helicopters have been flying over the area, dropping sandbags and equipment to repair dams. and residents of upstate carolina are stepping up to support affected communities, donating food, water and toys to help displaced neighbors. >> this is a time of faith, a time of strength and a time of taking care of each other and neighbors taking care of neighbors. if we do that, we will come out of this better than we have before. >> i read in the news this morning they had a really urgent need. i didn't hesitate to drop everything and put as much water as i could in my car and delivered it as soon as i could. >> rescue efforts are also under way in north carolina, where severe flooding has killed at least two people. this morning, people are asking why a cargo ship set sail out of jacksonville to

puerto rico last week, as hurricane joaquin was approaching. the ship went missing last week. all that's been found so far is debris, but one body has been found as well. communities along the east coast held vigils last night for the 33 members on board the el faro cargo ship. the coast guard saying it sank. search crews found debris spread over more than 220 square miles. joaquin was still a tropical storm when the ship left jacksonville, florida. the company that owns the boat says the weather seemed favorable at the time and there were no reports from the captain that seemed alarming until they received a report that the ship lost power. the ntsb is investigating. new questions about hillary clinton's private e-mail server. some e-mails from the company that maintained the server say they felt pressure by her team to reduce how long they keep data from the server about backup. this is according to a letter from republican senator ron johnson. one e-mail suggests clinton's team told the company to cut

the backups to 30 days. the unidentified employee also wrote about being concerned that there was some kind of cover-up going on. the e-mail was sent right after the fbi started looking into the server issue. auto workers and fiat chrysler are preparing to walk off the job. the union has rejected a deal and authorized a strike. the current contract runs out at 11:59 tonight. the union and the automaker have been in contentious contract negotiations for a while now. workers refused to ratify a contract plan that was reached between the leadership of the union and the company. members voted overwhelmingly to authorize the strike. the strike would be the first in the industry since 2007. test results were released on the whale carcass that washed ashore at the coyote hills park last month. it appears the whale had been injured by a boat propeller. although the injury didn't go deeper than a layer of blubber, the whale also had a spine

problem which limited its ability to find food and that may have made it more vulnerable to getting injured by the passing boat. it's still unclear what caused the whale's death. and this morning, a richmond man is facing charges after a woman was attacked with a beebee gun at wildcat canyon park on sunday. police arrested the 21-year-old suspect after a woman was shot in the forehead while hiking on that trail. witnesses helped police find the suspect who was hiding behind the tree with that weapon. police are investigating whether the same man is behind two other beebee gun attacks in the same park. they say the man has a history of contact with richmond police. health experts, school officials and air quality officials are working together to raise awareness about the dangers of idling your car. air quality officials have been monitoring schools and they found high levels of benzene, formaldehyde and other toxic

emissions during the afternoon hours, when a lot of people leave their car running waiting for kids. they say toxic high levels in the air coincide with the parents idling their cars. health experts say by leaving the car on, it increases children's risks of getting asthma and other respiratory problems. they suggest just turn the car off while waiting for the kids. a plane forced to make an emergency landing after complications with a pilot midflight. the most recent happening yesterday and the flight was headed to sfo. it was a united airlines flight. it left houston and it had to be diverted to albuquerque because the copilot lost consciousness. the copilot was in stable condition and able to walk off of the plane on his own. that flight was carrying about 200 passengers. earlier this week, we told you about the american airlines pilot who died in the middle of his flight. that flight also was safely diverted. still ahead on the morning news, one airline is making it easier to get to europe from

over the bay. that will be with us till 10:00 and then things warm up for us. temperature forecast for san jose today, as we take a look at what conditions will be like throughout the day. temperatures will warm to about 79 degrees, right near the 80- degree mark for san jose, at about 2:00 or so in the afternoon. we'll hold on to that through 4:00 and then bring it down to the mid-60s by 8:00. winds will be light, coming predominantly from the west in san jose. again, nothing much to worry about on the wind front. full forecast, straight ahead. let's get the quick update from george on traffic. well, even with the metering lights activated at the bay bridge, about 5 too 8 minutes earlier than usual, traffic is still moving briskly through the toll plaza. but the backup is already reaching toward the 880 overcrossing, so we are now, instead of an 11-minute trip time, tracking a 14 to 16- minute trip time coming out of the macarthur maze. we expect that to climb. to san mateo, look good.

no problems for the 92 ride over to the 101/92 interchange, an 11-minute trip time out of hayward. >> thank you, george. 5:31. big news we're following this morning. a hiker found shot to death on a trail in marin county and the shooter still on the loose. jackie cisle is live in marin county with the latest on the search for three people of interest. jackie? >> reporter: good morning, daria. i'm here at the marin county sheriff's office and they are still looking for the shooter or shooters that were involved in the killing of a 67-year-old man on a popular north bay trail on monday night. in fact, you talked about it. there are people of interest at the marin county sheriff's department are anxious to talk to. in fact, yesterday, they released surveillance video shot at a convenience store just a little bit east of where the murder took place. they say there were three people, two men and a woman involved in it. they did release video of one of the men and the woman

involved in this, or they are anxious to talk to. they also believe the people, the person who shot and killed 67-year-old steve carter on the popular old railroad grade trail on monday night may have also stolen his car. all this started on monday around 6:00 when a hiker found the body of 67-year-old steve carter shot multiple times. carter was pronounced dead at the scene. his dog survived the shooting. since then, authorities fanned out in the whole area, or surrounding that area, looking for clues to potentially lead them to potential suspects in this case. there are three people of interest the marin county sheriff's office want to talk to. he described them to us yesterday. >> one of the men was described

as having a tie-dye t-shirt. the second with a backpack or sleeping roll. and the woman was described with dirty hair and dread locks. the information we're following up on is that the suspects involved in this or suspect fled in the victim's vehicle, so most likely have left the area. >> reporter: police are looking for a volkswagen jettsta hatchback. they are anxious to get new information on this case. we are hoping to get some sort of update later this morning to pass along. >> talking about the case, them shooting the dog, but the dog lived, we're wondering, and you'll talk to the investigators, if that would somehow be helpful if they do get suspects at some point, you know, will the dog be used?

might he go nuts sniffing the person that killed his owner? that kind of thing, i just wonder. >> reporter: they are playing this case close to the vest. in fact, yesterday, the public information officer from the marin county sheriff's office says they have a lot of information that they are not releasing right now, so there may be parts of this case that we are not aware of at this point. so obviously they want to continue to gather as much information as they can and the dog, well, he may play a role in this at some point, but for right now, they are looking for three people of interest in that vehicle. >> thanks for that, jackie. check in with you later. and just days after detectives in tuolumne county arrested four students for plotting a shooting rampage at their high school, a bay area high school student, now arrested for posting a threat on social media. the student attended vanden high school in fairfield. according to police, the 15- year-old was taken into custody after a parent saw his posts

threatening his fellow classmates. in the post, it showed the student holding a rifle, along with a caption that said harm would come to people who showed up at school the next day. whether the student was being serious or making a joke, officers say they take threats like these very seriously. >> he made a couple of statements indicating that he thought it was a joke or thought it was funny to post something like that. obviously, the officers spent quite a bit of time talking with him and his parents. they understand the severity, if they didn't before, of making these kinds of threats in this environment, especially when made toward a school or a vulnerable population. >> fairfield police arrested the student at his home the same day threats were made. officers also found a 22- caliber rifle, the same one pictured in the photograph. happening now, the san mateo county sheriff's office is warning residents of a telephone scam. somebody is claiming to be with the sheriff's office and they call and try to convince you that you owe fees for missing jury duty.

then they tell you to pay over the phone. otherwise, they say you'll be arrested. at least 10 people have gotten a call like that. the sheriff's office says they would never be calling to ask anybody for money or personal information. more thieves targeting gold chains in fremont. the latest incident happening tuesday even in portolo drive and cabrillo drive. a man was approached by a woman and took gold jewelry. the the woman is described as hispanic, 40 years old, 5' 2, 130 pounds, brown hair and a poniy tail. they were last seen leaving the scene in a red van. ucsf is no longer concerned about traffic congestion at its mission bay medical center that would come from a new warriors arena in san francisco. an agreement between the city and the university creates a special transportation improvement fund and places certain limits on special

events. the university now officially endorses the warriors' proposed plan. staff previously stated patient safety needed to be insured and that overlapping events at the nearby at&t park could prove disastrous for patients trying to get medical treatment. the san jose unified school district is making sat tests for free. as of now, less than half of the school district's population takes the tests, but now tests are free for all high school juniors, regardless of family's income. seniors take advanced placement and college entrants exams, also benefiting. the district is lowering the cost of the ap test from nearly $100 to just $5. so all families that want the discount on the exams must also apply for subsidized lunches. the district says it set aside half a million dollars for college exams this year and it's something they plan on

afternoon. at the moment, not a lot of sunshine. sun isn't up yet and there's too much cloud cover over sfo. you can kind of see that, the glow of the airport lights reflecting off the low cloud deck this morning. those clouds also visible on our satellite view. i want to show that to you as well, because we're picking up those clouds, not only here along the bayshore line, but also inland as well, sort of streaming in. the satellite view showing us that. you can see it streaming over those high clouds, low clouds as well. we've got kind of a mix this morning. we're also picking up a little bit of fog. in fact, zooming in here and switching over to our visibility map, you'll see in the napa valley we have visibility down to less than 2 miles, whereas everywhere else, it's pretty clear. 9-mile visibility in hayward. slight haziness, might pick that up in live shots to the san mateo bridge. temperatures cool, upper 50s to low 60s primarily, with a little cooler conditions for the east bay valley. 55 in pleasanton and in the north bay, santa rosa at 53. those are our cool spots. here's where we see

temperatures going this afternoon. a quick look at zone forecast for the south bay shows that san jose should warm up to 79 degrees. we'll see a handful of low 80s as well. 81 for campbell. 82 for morgan hill. so a nice day, mostly sunny and very comfortable temperatures in the south bay. we'll actually see that all around the bay with inland communities maybe adding one or two degrees over yesterday's temperatures. that's what's in store for today. another nice one and the gradual warmup is continuing as we make our way through the rest of the work week. by the weekend, we keep saying we'll get inland highs close to the 80-degree mark. along the bay, picture perfect for this weekend's fleet week. now to traffic. not too bad, james. there is traffic. it is a commute, after all. here at the bay bridge, metering lights were activated about 5 minutes earlier than usual as a consequence, we have a backup, but not as bad as i feared. still just a 16-minute trip

time and traffic still moving pretty well. if you commute to the bridge by 6:00 or, say, by 6:15, you'll likely face a backup of about the same dimension. maybe 18 minutes. i think we'll hold pretty steady. there are no incidents. for your trip to the san mateo bridge, still an easy ride. we have about another 45 minutes before things bog down. heading toward the golden gate bridge, no delays for the 101 ride through marin county. still incident-free and problem- free across the span, as well as for the trip into marin via the richmond bridge out of the east bay. that backup that you see in those lanes is just for cash payers. it's because they only have the two lanes open until 6:00. once those get open, that backup will clear fairly quickly. and tracking your ride here through the east bay, as we pick up slowing already for 880 southbound, doesn't take long for the 92/880 interchange to

back up. we've added 3 minutes for the trip time from san leandro to milpitas. south bay freeway looking pretty good. some slowing on 101 northbound. that's why it's a 21 instead of 16-minute trip time from the capital expressway up to the montague expressway. big news at 5:50, the mother of the oregon gunman apparently wrote about her love of guns in the online forum. she would refer to places as that attempted to pass legislation as lame states. harper wrote, enthusiastically about guns in a posting that was three years ago. in her post, she wrote she kept two full mags in my glock case, as she said, and no one will be dropping by my house uninvited. that was what she posted. a glock and a military-style

rifle were among weapons that her son used in the oregon school rampage at that community college. and a $400,000 lawsuit will be finalized by the end of the year. lawsuit claims a psychiatric hospital in las vegas sent 24 patients to san francisco with one-way bus tickets and no other arrangements. this morning, we're learning that some of the patients were told to call 911 when they got to san francisco. officials say at least 20 of those patients needed medical care as soon as they reached san francisco. and a model who has accused bill cosby of drugging her at the play boy mansion has sued the comedian for sexual assault and problems she has endured since the incident. cosby denies the accusations, denies he was even in town on

one of the dates when the incident occurred. thousands of federal inmates are set to be released from prison beginning next month as part of a cost-cutting measure to try to reduce the prison population. 6000 inmates are set to be freed in november. they will be the first of what could eventually be tens of thousands of inmates eligible for release. the people being freed are all drug offenders who went through appeals processes. this will be the largest one- time release of federal prisoners. harvard's debate team has lost to a group of inmates. a trio from the harvard debating union squared off against three inmates at the new york correctional facility last month and the inmates won an hour debate. it's not the first major victory they have had. since 2014, the prisoners have beaten teams, including west point military academy and the

and taken to the hospital. he was alive at the time and because of his injuries. too much for him to overcome. he died at the hospital. at this point his name is not being released. that scene was so intense. they were not sure if it is still active and if the shooters were still in the area. they told them to stay inside their apartments. and their homes while they investigated and pretty much throughout the night. they didn't find the shooter in this case and hoping to come up with any possible descriptions and at this point they don't have a motive behind the murder and they have not released the victim's name just yet. thank you, will. we will check with you throughout the morning. we will go live to avery harper. she is in san francisco to talk about the killing there. avery. >> . good morning, i am here at san francisco police headquarters. they are working to find out

who shot a woman to death tuesday night. it all happened eight last night at 1:49 mason street. take a look at what it looked like when police arrived. they found a woman with a gunshot wound in her torso. they couldn't do much. she died at the scene. they were trying to identify a person of interest. they were brought into the tenderloin district offices. no word on whether that person will face charges. they have not identified the victim or the person of interest. and just to give you an idea of where this all happened. take a look at the map. it is object mason street. >> steps from the west field mall. that is a very, busy area. now, i am told this is still a very active investigation and police are asking that if you have any information about the incident that took place last night. that you contact the anonymous tip line and they will be hoping up at eight and able to

free event. there are no tickets to track attendees. they don't know of a motive or have a suspect in their possession. they have approved the creation of a 25 member blue ribbon commission to oversee and improve operations at the main jail. this comes after recent inmate deaths and the suspension of correctional officers. the new commission will investigate the inmate's death as well as the suspensions and they involve two correctional deputies and the they made $200,000 last year. the search for a bay area tech worker after his boat capsized in alameda county has now been suspended. an employee, he was missing since the body capsized on lake duval and the lake is 10 miles from downtown livermore. he was with sales force. and doing a team building activity when the boat

what caused a whale to i do before it washed ashore in fremont last month. >> it was injured by a boat propeller and it had a spine problem which limited its ability to find food. that made it more vulnerable to passing boats and it is not clear exactly what caused the death. a lot more information coming in this morning. richmond man is facing charges this morning in connection with a bb gun attack. they arrested the 21-year-old suspect after a woman was shot in the forehead pay a bb gun while she was walking on the wildcat trail. witnesses helped police to find the shooter who was hiding behind a tree and was holding the bb gun. but they haven't identified the person they arrested. they are trying to figure out if the person is behind two other bb attacks. they said the man has a history of contact with the richmond

police. a bipolar woman who was hit by a chp officer is back in custody. she was spotted on the same stretch of freeway. here is video from the first incident. july 31 rdz of last year. seen punching the woman who was on the frowned and punching her at least nine times. the officer ended up resigning and the woman got a $1.5 million settlement. early yesterday morning she was spotted on the right shoulder of the same freeway. i-continue. she ran into traffic and they tried to detain her. she was taken into custody and taken to the hospital for a minute tall health evaluation. authorities now tide guying a marine who was shot and killed on a shooting range in southern california on the military base. lance corporal dominick shaft was found shot in the head at camp pendleton. he was taking part in live training examiner siels with live ammunition. he was a field radio operator

getting out there hit the peak temperature and getting upwards of 82 degrees with highs around the bay shore line right around 77. very comfortable. i will be back in 15 with the complete forecast and extended outlook. we will get the latest on the san mateo bridge problem, george. >> finally better. they have cleared the accident and reopened the lanes on 92 in the westbound direction. we are just before the toll plaza, the accident occurred. because of that. it is packed up to traffic all along the nimitz freeway. both northbound and southbound. we picked up some delays on the approach to the dumbarton bridge. look at the camera at the toll plaza and the volume is starting to increase now. the two left lanes have been open. we are going to see this commute on the bridge really start to slow down. the travel time is now over 40 minutes out of hayward. and heading over to san mateo.

so, big delays because of this problem that for nearly 30 minutes blocked the two left lanes. bay bridge ride is backed up into the maze. >> 26 minutes and still the drive time. it stayed that way for the last. >> 20 to 30 minutes. and if you are heading towards the richmond bridge. we are starting to see things slow down here. for the westbound ride which is already backed up to the richmond parkway and we are tracking 14 to 16 men trip times into san rafael. darya. >> thank you, george. a hiker found shot to death in marin county and the shooter is still on the loose. this morning, there are three persons of interest. >> jackie sisel is live in marin county to tell us more about the people the police would like to speak to. >> good morning. i am here at the marin county's office and they tip to look for the people of interest and continue to look for the killers involved in this

shooting that took place on a popular north bay trail. just west of fairfax on monday night. and now, last night they did release surveillance video of two people of interest. in all, there were three people they were looking for. >> they did capture images of the two people at a local screens store yesterday. >> here is the video of it. and now marin county sheriff's office said. they are not suspects at this time. and they are anxious to talk to these people. >> it all started around 6:00. >> when the march relationship county sheriff stles office that a hiker found a body on the old railroad grade trail. and that's when they found the body of 67-year-old steve carter who had been shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene. he was holding on to the leash of the dog who was also shot but the dog survived. they put the word across the
