it doesn't look too bad right? >> a little hazy. >> yeah. it is chilly in the north bay so temperatures have been dropping talk more about that in just a second. livermore clear skies by lunch time in the 70s warming up quite nicely once again to above average low oils expected by 4 today. your high yesterday was 87. so several degrees cooler than that but still mild to warm conditions expected all across the bay area. visibility right now still at zero. we are seeing dense fog in the north bay at least. half mile visibility in santa rosa and for half moon bay looking at six mile visibility so looks like we are also seeing the possibility for patchy drizzle for the coast this morning. temperatures right now 58 in san francisco, mid 40s in nevada chilly for parts of the north bay upper 40s in santa rosa grab a jacket or sweater.

54 in oakland under partly cloudy conditions so here's a look at your satellite and radar picture where we are going to stay dry over the next few days with the exception of a patchy drizzle and temperatures warming opaquest nicely today for a beautiful fall afternoon. south bay low 80s in santa peculiara and 79 in san jose. evergreen a high of 81 degrees and for the peninsula upper 70s for palo alto and red wood city. 68 degrees for our friends in pacificca. for the rest of the bay area looking at upper 70s in oakland to upper 70s as well in fremont, 82 in napa. here's a look at your seven day around the bay forecast. temperatures mild to warm into the next couple of days and your weekend. looks like on sunday not a complete rain out by any means. a slight chance for maybe a shower on sunday across the bay area. temperatures cooling down into

after joe biden announced he will not run for president hillary clinton's odds got a lot better. according to the most recent survey before biden's decision clinton stood around 69%. immediately after his announcement her odds shot up to 78% and this morning that number now at around 82%. on the republican side donald trump is cementing his status as the republican presidential frontrunner but some wonder if he can convert his huge support in the polls to actual real votes. sarah murray explains. ♪ [ music ] >> for the 100th day donald trump dominates the g.o.p. field. >> first of all it's an honor to have such a wonderful pull. it's a great way to get up in the morning and i will say that i will fight for it. >> trump's latest poll numbers matching his larger than life permit in a reversal from when

we are back at 4: 55. a middle school principal in louisiana now under fire for her choice of halloween costume. we have a photo of lee ann wall and her husband at a private party earlier this month. she described in the photo on social media as basically the people of walmart. her husband is wearing a red ban dana around his waist. he's got money coming out of his pocket. she reads you be waiting on pay day i be waiting on the first of the month. some residents calling it racist and a form of classism. >> wow okay so what is she trying to depict somebody who is on welfare and if that is what she's trying to depict that's even worse. >> the school board has taken appropriate action but would not give any details on what that action was. we'll take a quick break. coming up on the kron4 morning

scene with the latest. >> will, what have you learned? >> i can tell you they are still searching for two suspects this morning right behind me at the home around 11: 30 last night the homeowner comes home runs across the two suspects. they were inside according to the spokesman for the alameda county sheriff's department the two suspects were inside looking noon. they say there were about 200 marijuana plants inside. they get into an altercation. there was blood found inside the place. they are not sure if the blood belongs to the suspects or the homeowner. they believe right now this is an illegal grow operation even though the homeowner says it is legal. here's the reason why. the homeowner says he has the license to grow medical marijuana but according to the detectives i spoke to, the spokesman for the alameda county sheriff's department he says if that's the case you can only grow up to 30 pot plants

not 200 so the homeowner regardless of what's going on is in trouble with the law. they are talking to the homeowner. as far as the two suspects no descriptions of them. two hispanic males. it was so loud in fact it was the neighbors who heard the commotion and came outside to see the altercation. it was the homeowner acheering to the detectives who told the neighbors do not call the police so this is a little suspicious but they do plan to be here throughout the morning. they just got the search warrant and are going inside but i have confirmed that they believe this is an illegal grow operation that was an attempted robbery. back to you. >> a lot going on. we'll check back with you throughout the morning. >> time now is 5:01 and happening today hillary clinton is expected to face tough questions on capitol hill. she is going to be heaving in a republican led investigation into the deadly attack in

degrees and cool it off to 68 by 8 tonight. that will be a story for today. still unseasonably warm just a touch cooler than yesterday. i'll have complete details in your full forecast in 15 minutes. between hand it to george for the update on the ride out there. >> thank you good morning. it's an easy ride start by tracking the drive time for the ride from hercules to berkeley despite early morning problems in the non commute directions we are delay free for the westbound interstate 80 ride. let's see if we can bring up that drive time as we track the trip time. it should be about 15 minutes in the westbound direction and indeed that's exactly where it comes in. your ride leads you to the bay bridge and that's here where we are already backed up on the left happened side. those are cash lanes. i don't think it will last around 5:30 but around then we'll see the rest start to back up.

here at the bridge it's an easy trip time of 11 minutes as you head out of hayward over to san mateo. >> thank you. 5:05 right now. >> happening now the food poising story we've been- -poisoning story from the out break in the south bay there are 93 cases connected to the restaurant in san jose and this morning cases also being reported in alameda and santa cruz county. lawsuits are already being filed against the owners of the restaurant. a number of new cases are secondary meaning the patients were infected by someone they knew and not just the restaurant. they are heading to get an update on the food poisoning and check in with her in 2030 minutes. and find out information on this form of food poisoning on the spread as well as the symptoms you should be on the look out for. and a grocery store in san

jose because of a ceremony everyone infestation. it was closed on tuesday. health officials say bakery and grocery areas were contaminated and the deli. the problem was discovered during a random health department check. another inspection was completed yesterday morning and the store was allowed to reopen. another report of an attempted kidnapping near a middle school. there have been three incidents over the last month. live near willow middle school where the latest incident happened. jackie. >> good morning. i'm here at willard middle school and asking residents and parents to be on the look out after another attempted kidnapping was reported and we finally got word of that last night. now according to the berkeley police department this occurred on monday night about 10 to 15 minutes before the incident that was reported to us earlier in the week.

according to the berkeley police department a girl walking alone in the area near college and webster was approached by a man driving a dark colored cargo van with no windows on the side or the back. he attempted to try to get her into the car. this incident happened ten minutes after or before three girls that were walking was approaching by a similar description of the suspect driving a similar vehicle. at that point he attempted to lure them into the van. at one point got out of the van and started chasing them before they were able to get away and they are also saying this is similar to a case that happened back on september 8. so now they are asking the public to be on the look out. obviously they are very suspicious of this person if it is the same person. berkeley police department talked about it last night and what they are telling the residents in the area. >> teach your kids about safe avenues of escape, who is a

trusted adult, there are places and people to turn to for help. >> now the suspect is described as a hispanic male in his late 20s or 30s with dark hair and a justifiy face driving that dark colored cargo van with no windows. what we are expecting today is the berkeley police department says they are going to increase patrols around this area not only in the hopes of maybe catching this person but also giving a little comfort to the people who walk their children to and from school right here art the willard middle school. darin >> thank a lot. an oakland man is accused of groping several children in berkeley. 38-year-old ryan lee mccovey was arrested on suspicion of committing included acts on a child under 14 looking for a man who groped several kids in august while they were swimming

in a uc berkeley pool. he's being held on $700,000 bail. and friends and family members are gathering to remember andy lopez on the second anniversary of his death. there will be a celebration of life at andy's park. shot and killed by sheriff's deputy eric gelhouse who saw him carrying a replica 1847 and thought it was real. he opened fire when he turned to face him. family members will be picketing outside the sheriff's office. a big scare for parents one north bay community five teenagers have over dosed on a common cold medicine. students from two in marine county had to be hospitalized. three of them were found incapacity tated in their classrooms in mill valley and t same thing happened to two other students during a school function at drake high school.

take a look at this a water rescue in arizona after thunderstorms trigger flash flooding north of phoenix. the driver got stuck in fast moving water yesterday. the sheriff's office saying the road was closed and there were barricades in place but the driver kept going. the driver could be fined. they have a slogan and it doesn't sound great. don't drown turn around. >> when you see the pothole i go could i make it through that but when you see signs and the road is closed. >> the better slogan is don't be dumb. all right. again if you come across high water don't think you can drive through it. >> do you need that warning here right now? >> not here. no. >> i haven't seen a water fall or flowing river in forever. >> i haven't seen a puddle, yeah. >> conditions cooler than they were yesterday but still well above average for this time of year and as i look off into the horizon in your extended forecast later in the hour there might even be hints of

rain so fingers crossed. it's high and dry temperatures on the cool side all along the bay. 54 for san francisco and oakland 56 in san jose. concord and livermore at 54 and 56 degrees. the cool spot at santa rosa some of the cool spots at 59 so coolest temperatures. the fog more prevalent than it was yesterday. santa rosa three tenths of a mile. seven mile visibility out near half moon bay. zero visibility so the north bay getting the blunt end of the fog this morning dealing with that at least for a little bit longer. the wide view shows a little bit of a system to our north really bringing us more of an ocean breeze. gustier conditions on the hills for the north and east bay and slightly cooler air for the day and temperatures will be maybe just a degree or two cooler than it was yesterday. the east bay zone forecast for the valleys looking for

anywhere from 80 to 83 degrees on average for a number of spots including san ramon, concord, walnut creek, pleasanton in the 80 to 83- degree range. warmer at livermore at 84. yesterday up to 86 degrees so today shave off a couple from that temperature. the rest of the bay area follows a similar pattern. 81 to 83 in the north bay 79 to 82 in the south bay san francisco 73 and most of the shoreline communities in the mid to upper 70s. here's your short term outlook friday and saturday temperatures system how farring- -hovering well above awl. more on the chance of rain to come later on. stay tuned for that. now to traffic. any problems george. >> not yet. not looking at hot spots yet. starting with drive times as we look first at the east bay ride on interstate 580 westbound dublin interchange down to the castro valley y is okay. your ride here on interstate or

u.s. highway 101 in the northbound direction looks good from the capital expressway to the montague expressway just an 18 minute trip time for the northbound ride and your trip on interstate 280 northbound looks good also, 17 minutes now for that trip time leading out from 101. and tracking the ride for you through the bay bridge. the mcarthur maze looks great. not tracking any delays for the westbound ride. your eastbound ride to san mateo is okay 11 minutes the trip time here. problem free for the richmond bridge and an 8 minute trip time from the toll plaza ten minutes from the hoffman split westbound out towards san san raphael. and a light easy ride in both directions finished with the recon figureation of the bridge so four lanes southbound.

breaking news a man is behind bars for a deadly road rage shooting nah killed a four- year-old girl in new mexico. annie hong is at at breaking news desk to w details. >> very sad story where lily garcia was shot and killed tuesday near alburquerque in a road rage shooting. her father just picked her and her brother up from school. two vehicles including her father cut each other off. the other driver pulled up to their car opening fire hitting lily. she was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. at first police had very little information looking for a suspect but then they got a tip. >> we received an anonymous call from a person who recorded they knew who had shot lily. >> police question the suspect. 32-year-old tony torres pictured here. he eventually admitted to firing the shot that killed lily being held on $650,000

bail. we'll continue to follow this breaking news story for you throughout the morning. back to you. >> thank you annie. breaking news from overnight a police officer in alburquerque is in critical condition after he was shot during a traffic stop. police have arrested a suspect but haven't identified the person. the officer that was shot multiple times and under went surgery late last night. getting our first look of the man accused of shooting and killing a new york city police officer on tuesday. tyrone howard making his first court appearance yesterday. police say howard has a history of criminal behavior been arrested 20 other times sometimes for violent crimes. there was already a warrant out for his arrest before shooting happened and now facing charges of first degree murder in the shooting death of new york city police officer randolph holder. repairs continue this morning on the sinkhole that opened up on a major intersection in union city. this is from the helicopter

over the sinkhole starting on eldorado boulevard at new haven street as we reported live here on the kron4 morning news and westbound eldorado boulevard still very opened yesterday. crews have to keep working to restore the intersection fully. one lane is open in each direction. originally the whole measured 10 by 12 feet but then it doubled in size in a matter of hours. no definite date for where all repairs will be complete but it looks better than it impa. paul ryan could become the next speaker of the house winning the backing of the house freedom as a closed door vote yesterday. he needed their support if he was going to take the job. their support was a positive step towards uniting a union find public team. trying to find a speaker for john boehner who plans to rearrogance of aaron tire at

the end of the month. lamar odom and khloe kardashian have decided to stay married while he continues to recover after he was found unconscious at a nevada brothel and she's been at his side ever since. her lawyer filed a petition yesterday to dismiss the divorce filing they had done in december of 2013. the document didn't say why but it showed that odom also signed off on dismissing the divorce. kardashian has been at the hospital as i said and she does have control because it turns out over his medical matters even though they went through the divorce and had all the paperwork it wasn't finalized so they could do this and just withdraw it basically. lamar regained consciousness last friday and regained it when chloe said i love you. >> yeah. still ahead on the kron4 morning news amazon launching

slow ride out to concord and this morning it's going to be a little slower a little earlier than usual with a westbound accident slowing the ride out of pittsburgh into bay point the crash here at bailey road as you head up the hill and traffic is backing up into pittsburgh and a bit beyond for the westbound ride. the drive time already up to 23 minutes now from ant crock over to concord for the westbound highway 4 ride. for the westbound bay bridge ride the metering lights are activated now so the back up reaches to the 880 over crossing and the drive time is 12 to 14 minutes out of the mcarthur maze. and for your trip to the san mateo bridge still an 11 minute drive. it should look this good for about the next hour. mark? >> thank you. the superheroes mural dedicated to the artist who was shot and killed while working on it is now complete dedicated to antonio ramos who was shot on

that stretch of 101 being hit by dense fog also picking up some along the coastline. temperatures where we are seeing the fog is where we are seeing the coldest temperatures. 48 in santa rosa 46 in and most of the bay area in the low to mid 50s and that's what we are seeing out there this morning. the wide view on satellite radar shows the high pressure is backed up and clouds pushing on through kicking up the sea breeze and as a result we see temperatures a touch cooler than it was yesterday. 60s still the general pattern 60s for the 9:10 hour 70s for noon time and by 3 warming up to the 80s once again inland. today we are going to back off those temperatures a degree or two from where they were yesterday. low 80s, 81 to 83 in the north way. 81 to 83 as well and in the south bay 79 to 83 degrees with mid to upper 70s along the bay

shoreline. here's where we actually see some things that are interesting to point out. the first is on sunday. that's our first chance at maybe a north bay sprinkle. temperatures dropping off a bit as we have a system scraping by the north and wednesday next week that's a better shot as again we are seeing another system push on through so watch both of those carefully and keep you updated on that day by day. traffic now any hot spots? >> an accident we've been watching on highway 4 in bay point is turning that ride into a holt spot--hot spot on highway 4 now. the back up reaches solidly to pittsburgh 44 minutes out of the westbound ride. there was another crash here at railroad avenue adding to the delays coming out of anti oc k this morning. web metering lights activated at 5:30 that means the back up

starts to reach to west grand avenue. 20 plus minutes for the trip time into san francisco. your eastbound ride heading over to san mateo still looks good and still just a ten minute trip time from the hoffman split here on 580 westbound and looking at the golden gate bridge no delays southbound or northbound for the trip into the county. >> thank you george. 5:47. breaking news of a school attack where a teacher was killed in sweden today. annie hong has more from the breaking news desk. >> authorities say a masked man with a sword attacked a school in southern sweden today killing a teacher and seriously hurting two students at the school before being shot by police. here's video from the scene. students ran from the school during the attack in the school's cafe area. authorities say there were two

that is the forecast and i will be back in 15 minutes to talk about the extended forecast. we will see what it is doing with the forecast in the upcoming shot at rain. onto traffic. traffic in general around the bay mack -- around the bay is still building up. around highway 4, it is slowly improving and drive time has hovered around 50 minutes. it should be around 35-40 minute drive time. on bailey road, the accident is still a factor even though no lanes are blocked. the drive in the san ramon valley looks good. slowing out of the ultima and we are starting to see slowing leading into dublin and for the 680 ride south downed down to fremont. there is nine minutes added to the trip time from sandra lead -- from sandler a -- san

leandro. conditions still look great. another trip time for northbound 101 which is the only freeway slowing -- showing slowing. traffic is backed up pleaded into the macarthur maze just past the 580 flyover. 24 out -- to four minutes is the trip time. at highway 92 we are 15 minutes out from seeking conditions really deteriorating. it is stl just a 15 minute trip time. on the 580 ride, it is starting to back up and the backup is almost reaching to the richmond parkway. a 12-14 minute trip time from the hoffman split. headed south, it is an easy drive and still just 20 -- 28 minutes to the golden gate bridge. apologizing for the san francisco ad campaign after many people complained saying that it rubbed people the wrong

points. we are watching the opening bell with the dow up 135. the nasdaq 186. we are following the markets this morning and we will bring you the updates at the 9:00 our as well. following the weather. would you like us to start the weather like that with a bell? i want to show you briefly what the temperatures will be like this afternoon. i'm going to give you a little tour of the forecast beginning with the east bay shoreline. expected to be around 78 degrees and 79 for the valley. it looks like mostly mid-to upper 70s for the afternoon and for all of those kennett -- communities up-and-down interstate 80 and farther north near richmond in berkeley. that's what we are expecting for the east bay shoreline. we are looking for temperatures a little cooler than yesterday.

still well above average for this time of year. mild this afternoon. 80 in santa clara and 79 in san jose. 81 for places like the valley and morgan hill. the san francisco peninsula forecast is 73 in the city and we will work our way to 78 as you head south along the shoreline of the peninsula. on the coast, right around the upper 60s for most of the afternoon. a mild 81-83 degrees for the wine country. 83 in santa rosa and 83 and napa. that is the way the forecast is shaping up. i will have a more complete outlook when i come back in 15 minutes. let's go to traffic. right now we are not tracking any big incidents. we are left with slow traffic which makes highway 4 hotspot. verse we will track some other east bay drives like the shore for -- east -- eastshore

freeway. 45 minutes from antioch to concorde four westbound 4. there was an earlier accident at daily that backed up the drive which is made things -- bailey and that is why things are still slow. we have added time to the trip time southbound as we have picked up slowing. the drive time on 580 westbound is 44 minutes out of the dublin interchange. the 238-237 corridor now nearly 48 minutes. we've had 15 minutes added to the total trip time. now in the quarter made the drive time has doubled. the commute to the san mateo bridge is right on cue getting heavy at 6:30. it will stay like this for a
