good morning. breaking news we are following. a standoff in oakland as police search for a killer in the east bay. police have tracked suspects in a fatal shooting last night in livermore to a home in west oakland. this is video from the scene. you can see swat team members and heavily armed officers. this, after one was shot and killed and another hurt in a busy shopping center parking lot on first street in livermore. police chased the shooter's car into oakland, where they lost sight of it. kron4's avery harper is in oakland with the latest. >>reporter: good morning.

at center street, police wrapped up an extensive search of a home for a suspect wanted in three homicides, including yesterday shooting in livermore at the cbs parking lot. police say neighbors called saying they saw a car that match the description of one leaving the shooting. a swat team came and tear gassed the house hoping to find a suspect, but he was nowhere to be found. the search is on for the suspect who has not been identified. if you come out live in west oakland, police searched and gathered evidence from this house and towed away the vehicle they say was used in the shooting yesterday. it had bullet holes in the side and they are looking for the suspect. before they left, they said we could expect an update sometime this morning and i will have it as soon as i get it for you. we will check in with you throughout the morning. so far, police are not

releasing the names of the two shot in livermore. we know that neither lived in the area and police do not believe that the suspects are from livermore, either. let's get to the sunday weather. a live look outside at the embarcadero, you can see it is a beautiful shot and it is gorgeous. the lights are out there, but whether it will be a beautiful day, we are not sure. dave will tell us all about whether we should grab the jacket or i don't know, a nice sunday dress or something? i don't know. plan our wardrobe. i like the sound of that. the possibility of some sprinkles, but nothing that will do anything or be an annoyance. that will be during the morning hours. there may be better clearing this afternoon. here's a live shot of the bay bridge and we have quite a bit of cloud cover hovering.

you can see the radar echo is not holding together very well. it may be south bay where we get sprinkles this morning before this clears out, at least temporary. we will keep general clouds as the descriptor today. 60 in richmond in north bay and 55 in novato but chilly in santa rosa. san francisco, temperatures warm up to 68, 69 by 2:00 and sliding to the 60s. the other towns we will show you go in verse to this, reflecting better afternoon clearing. for your forecast, we establish upper 60s at work. late afternoon, sunny and cool and inland highs in the lower 70s. we are talking about showers and we will have that coming up. breaking news, another

small earthquake rattled part of the east bay at 2.7 magnitudes. just before 11:30 last night, the latest and a swarm of more than 250 small quakes that hit the area in the past two weeks. officials say that it is not a precursor to a larger quake, but research shows that a large quake is expected to hit a hayward fault in the next several years and these are good reminders to be prepared. a stolen cup car and a dramatic chase across the bay bridge. take a look at this video from our helicopter partnership with abc7 news. one man is under arrest after police officers -- a police officer, jumped off the upper deck on the bay bridge to keep the suspect from getting away. here is more. >>reporter: san francisco police officers tried to take a suspect into custody saturday morning and they faced a knife wielding man who ran from them.

>> he was able to make entry into the patrol vehicle and actually steal the vehicle. >>reporter: in a chase that led this far, the suspect drove with reckless abandon. >> several hit-and-run vehicle collisions occurred. >>reporter: the stolen car made it across the bay bridge to treasure island where the suspect eluded officers in pursuit. >> as the suspect approached the front gate of treasure island in the marked patrol vehicle, he drove onto the sidewalk and two officers discharged several rounds at the suspect as he fled and continued onto the driveway approaching the bay bridge. >>reporter: the stolen patrol car stopped when it rear-ended a cadillac. the suspect took a bold leap to escape. >> the suspect exited from the marked patrol vehicle and jumped onto the lower level, the lower

deck of the freeway. >>reporter: the attempt was thwarted by a brave police officer who was illegally determined to end the pursuit. >> personal safety, they pursued the suspect into a significant drop onto the lower deck. i estimated between 30 to 40 feet. >> it ended with the suspect into custody. jeff pierce, kron4 news. video into the newsroom shows a fire burning in san carlos. fire broke out in the city and it was in the 1000 block of american street around 7:45 last night. there are no reports of injuries. coming up, heavy rain pounding parts of texas and we will take a look at the latest video and we will let you know how much more rain could hit there today. hillary clinton is getting a celebrity endorsement.

welcome back to kron for news weekend edition. parts of texas soaked by the remnants of hurricane patricia. up to 20 inches of rain have fallen over parts of texas over the last two days. you can see the rain and wind in galveston. a homeless man was reportedly swept into a drainage ditch trying to save his dog. the man had has not been found.

a freight train was derailed, but it seems that most of the rain is starting to move out of the area. >> it is kicking up the gulf. the gulf of mexico, no longer the pacific and heavy rains you are talking about, 8 inches and in some cases up to 10 inches of this rain, what is left of patricia. louisiana is getting hit next and the iowa -- the ohio valley and new england, perhaps we'll get some of this. you will hear about this the next two days or so and finally, we will be done with all of this. heavy rains in houston and along the gulf coast is where the concentration is, louisiana, as well. from the golden gate, the cloud cover for right now, the satellite trends show things will improve fairly rapidly. satellite radar shows echoes

out to sea and we threw in the chance for an isolated sprinkle. it looks like the timing would be in south bay. we have the low up to the north and a location keeping temperatures suppress today, as yesterday. temperatures in the 50s, as you will see and it looks like san francisco, the stately city at 56. livermore 61 and cloud cover, temperatures fairly uniform. we get very clear skies already by noon, except for north bay. it takes longer for clearing they are. this is an optimistic imagery but we will see improving skies for the afternoon, penciling in the morning sprinkles and by 9:00 p.m. looking good. east bay shoreline, temperatures in the lower 70s and almeda, x teen nine and berkeley 68. the far east bay, the temperatures pounds, relatively

speaking and we see middle 70s and later portion of the week we will see 80s returning. we may get them -- we may wink at them early on. wednesday, all eyes looking for a shot at scattered showers and it does not look as intense as we hoped, you don't forget you can follow it on kron4.com 24/7. we are getting video from the regional government of curtis dan. the video shows that the u.s. raid on an isis compound has special forces and fighters storming the compound on thursday in a mission to rescue hostages. a u.s. soldier was killed and 70 hostages were freed but not the kurdish captives they were sent in to rescue. the raid was the first time u.s. forces directly engaged with isis militants on the ground in iraq.

officials say the role of the u.s. forces are to only train and assist iraq is, not engage in combat. the democratic presidential hopefuls took the stage in iowa on saturday at a democratic rally in some candidates hope that the rally could be a turning point for their campaign. cnn's jeff delaney explains. >>reporter: fireworks in the presidential race. democratic rivals descended on the iowa 100 days before the first votes of the 2016 primaries. hillary clinton seized on the star power of katy perry. >> right on! 2016 is right around the corner! >>reporter: and the political power of bill clinton. >> i've never been the warm-up act for katy perry before. i am well aware i am the warm- up act. >>reporter: the biggest week ended in iowa where clinton had plenty of company and competition. bernie sanders has become a democratic star of his own. his campaign chartered a plane to fly over the dueling rallies calling for revolution before marching side-by-side with his followers. >> this is on march which will end up in a year when you will join me in the white house. >>reporter: a festival of politics coming to a boil at the jefferson jackson dinner, a marquee event for democrats. [cheers and applause] it was at this dinner years ago when barack obama jumpstarted his campaign. sanders said history could come -- history could repeat itself. >> about eight years ago, all of the political experts talked about how another democratic candidate for president couldn't win.

>> [chanting] another ship sailing from san francisco crashed into a reef. fire crews rescued all 13 passengers off the 46-foot sailboat called the boomerang. the used a helicopter to transport the passengers. witnesses say several sailboats were trying to return to the harbor and 10-foot waves pushed the boat into the reef. one of the crew members gives a firsthand description of what happened. >> when the water passed on the last wave, the keel hit the bottom and we lost our steering. we were stuck in couldn't start the motor. wave after wave kept hitting us and pushed us across the reef. >> emergency crews evaluated the passengers and they refused to be transported to the hospital. the boat was a complete loss.

. the fbi is warning people about the rise in digital extortion, or online ransom ware attacks a cyber criminal calls.

it is a form of malware and works by holding your entire computer hostage, or by blocking access to your files. people are ordered to pay thousands to get access to their computers. gabe slate talked with a cyber security expert. find out how to protect your self. >>reporter: you can browse perfectly legitimate sites, popular sites like the huffington post and get affected. jerome said everyone needs to be aware of this new threat online, ransom ware and how easy it is to get infected from normal web browsing behavior. no one is 100% safe. >> getting the malware cleaned up is easy. getting the files restored is impossible. >>reporter: is a nightmare. when you browse the internet and pick up malware, suddenly your computer freezes and there is a pop-up window seeing your files are locked unless you pay

a ransom. typically, they instruct the victim to buy a prepaid card from a convenience store and give them the code. or, they use bit coin. they use anonymous types of payment services. avoid digital extortion by prevention. >> keep your computer up to date. keep your antivirus up-to-date. >>reporter: backup your files, anything important. your documents and pictures and videos. pack it up to an external hard drive. if you get hit with one of these attacks, you likely will never see your personal files again unless you pay. you can refused to pay and the higher a security expert to remove the malware or gain. >> access to your machine. but the files are still encrypted and you want to have access. >> there is no solution at the moment on the market to recover the files.

we are looking at a sheet of cloud cover and cool conditions and maybe a sprinkle or two for the start of your day. the radar imagery shows possibility that it may, perhaps, visit your neighborhood in the a.m. part of the day prior to noon and in the afternoon, improving skies. temperatures are what teresa calls cold. pleasanton is matching that at 58. 50 six in bailey city. oakland, notice what happens on the right-hand side, you get to 68 by noon and a slow warm-up and by noon, lower 70s and in the afternoon, due to better sunshine, it will provide a little cooling, though not as much as you might think. 69 for a high and the east a

shoreline lower 70s in hayward 68 and pleasanton 75. in a bit, we will check into the 7 day forecast. and national news, four are dead and more than 40 injured in a crash at oklahoma state university's homecoming parade. authorities say a woman drove her car through a crowd of spectators. among those killed, a 2-year- old boy who died at a hospital and three adults were pronounced dead at the scene. will dupree from cnn spoke with witnesses. >> i will never forget that. =k it will replay over and over. >>reporter: the crowd that slammed into the fans came to a stop in the exact place where kaylee carter and her roommate were watching the parade. >> i didn't know what it was. i ran. the car hit me as it was stopping and i flew over some strollers. >>reporter: this software from

tulsa walked away despite badly cutting her hand. her roommate tried to shield her from the carnage around her. >> everybody was laying there and my roommate said that you don't want to look over there. it was really scary. >>reporter: police identified the driver as 25-year-old, adacia chambiers. the man who was said he pulled his sons out of the way just in time shared a picture with us, showing officers arresting her. >> people were having fun and they didn't know what hit them. it came 40 or 50 miles an hour, they were speeding through the people. >>reporter: the tragic deaths and the injuries stunned governor mary fallin. >> homecoming is a time of celebration. to think someone could hurt people like this is unfathomable. >>reporter: the government -- the governor hopes to meet with some of the victims tonight and many plan to join her by sending thoughts and prayers. >> william dupree reporting. police are investigating a

man that was shot and killed in san jose early yesterday morning on monterey street. was pronounced dead at the scene and was found outside of the club and restaurant just before 2:00 in the morning. employees said the business had already closed the doors by midnight and neighbors and police say the club had been the scene of shootings in the past and it is unclear what led to the shootings and who else was involved. the shooting is under investigation. the raiders travel to southern california to take on the san diego chargers. the raiders are coming off their bye week and hope to bounce back from their last loss to the bunkers. murray was wrestling a shoulder injury but practiced all weekend is expected to play. the raiders kickoff against the rivals at 1:05 this afternoon. hundreds will be going to half moon bay, and that was all about

. breaking news. police tracked a shooting suspect from livermore last night and now believe he is at a home in oakland. police have searched the home but no suspect has been found. we expect an update from police and kron4's avery harper will be live in 15 minutes with the details. we will be back on kron4 newsweek and with more things you need to know about the week ahead. the golden state warriors

began their championship. they will begin the season at home taking on the new orleans pelicans and the tipoff is set for 7:30. on wednesday, the race to the white house heats up in the third republican primary debate. the main debate will feature 10 candidates including donald trump, ben carson, jeb bush and carly fiorina. on wednesday, the house of representatives will vote on a new speaker. paul ryan announced that he will run for speaker. current speaker of the house, john boehner, is set to resign at the end of the month and wednesday could also be the day that we get rain in the bay area? we are tracking a chance of storms, on wednesday morning. meteorologist dave spahr is tracking the whether and has the latest on how big the storm could be. good morning.

a live look out at sfo and low- lying clouds hanging around to greet us. a little skedaddled sprinkles -- scattered sprinkles thrown in and more of a clearing mode. here is how the satellite and radar is to the southwest. a couple of radar echoes popping up and this is clearing nicely, as you can see. the forecast holds to that. the temperatures are uniform, upper 50s for the most part, 61 in richmond and napa at 54. 56 for daily city. news temperatures, with the clearing, we will see warm-ups happening and may be better in spots than yesterday. by the noon hour, the progress shows stills some of the green holding on an parts of the east a shoreline and the coast. 5:00, it is taken off the board

with the exception of the strip along the coastline. everyone else should be close to 70 degrees and the 80s, not in our area for today. by 9:00 you can see in the 60s and chilly 50s making themselves known. by tomorrow morning, chilly in wine country. and valejo and napa and that south bay, a lot of it covered by chili temperatures. high temperatures in the coast should be upper 60s and san mateo 72 and further to the south, south bay will have mid 70s. 72 from mountain view and santa clara, 74. before we get the, high pressure building monday and tuesday with mid-80s and then a shot of rain on wednesday. unfortunately, not as potent as

we were hoping and then temperatures recover into the following weekend. follow this on kron4. forecasters predict that because of el niño, most of california will see above average rainfall this winter. southern california is expected to get hit the hardest. yosemite national park could see above average precipitation. the park has a history of dramatic flooding an earlier, charles clifford was in yosemite and asked the park service if they are prepared for a very, very wet winter. >>reporter: this was the yosemite valley in january 1997. heavy rain and rapidly melting snowpack flooded several streams and the merced river. thousands of visitors were stranded for days until the water receded. the worst flooding in the history of yosemite national park. in the aftermath, the park service made extensive changes on the river. >> park moved campgrounds away from the river to mitigate flood impact and to work with

the merced river plan. >>reporter: even though there is a high likelihood that the large el niño in the pacific will send heavy rain into california, the park service said a repeat of the 1997 flood is unlikely. >> if we get heavy rains, the difference between that and what happened in 1997 is we have the huge snowpack -- we had the huge snowpack in 1997 but we don't have that now. the river has more capacity to handle that water. >>reporter: the park service hopes of what winter will result in a deep snowpack which will believe drought conditions and keep the streams, waters and waterfalls flowing. >> we would love to see snow and it helps feed the reservoirs, but we are glad to have the rain. the yosemite area is

forecasted to have a 50% chance of staying above average with moisture this winter. the search continues for missing cargo ship, el faro. it sank earlier this month during hurricane joaquin. u.s. navy ship team is now on the hunt for the data recorder, known as the black box. they are searching near an island in the bahamas. you see them getting ready to deploy the pinger locator, an instrument that detects the black box. el faro disappeared october 1 while making the weekly cargo run to san juan, puerto rico. the 28 american crewmembers and five polish nationals are presumed dead. a stunning discovery in south carolina. deputies found between seven and 10,000 guns stored at a home. authorities arrested a 51-year- old man in connection with the goods. it started friday when deputies arrived at his house to serve a

subpoena for another case. they discovered the stash. police and neighbors said that the man was pulling items seized from the property. >> there was like 150 chainsaws, 250-300 taxidermy mounts and 7000 and 10,000 stolen weapons. >> why was he collecting those firearms? what was he planning to do with them? >> sheriff brooks said he believed the man was a done hoarder and the operation will continue through the rest of the week. investigators must go through all the weapons stored and try to return them to the rightful owners or in the hands of law enforcement. a live look outside, you are taking a look at sfo. you can see some cloud cover out there. we don't believe there's any delays right now. it is the treasure island fleamarket. today, the event has a halloween theme.

breaking news we are following. all of this happening after one person was shot and killed and another was hurt in a busy shopping center parking lot on 1st an livermore. after the crime, police chased the shooter's car into oak lapd where they lost it >> new this morning, learning more about the suspected gunman. joining us, sargeant steve gord at the livermore police department. we understand you guys are releasing a mug shot in connection with this can you elaborate. is there we were able to identify the suspect, number one as jason alexander brown. date of birth of april 9th of 1997 and he resides in oakland, california. >> >> reporter: do we have any information, sargeant, as far as the exchange or what lead to the exchange in the parking lot that kind of ignited this whole

thing? >> at this point, we don't. the motive is unknown one surviving victim has gone through a series of surgeries. he is unable to talk to us, right now, at this point, we don't have a reason for why they chose livermore to engage each other and that crime to unfold how it did. >> reporter: the victim is from the east bay, livermore specifically? >> no, no one in this case is from livermore. they are from central valley area. they are not from rivermoore at all. >> reporter: as far as the mug shot of the person, brown, should he be considered armed and dangerous? >> absolutely. he is considered armed and dangerous. he did use a high caliber rifle to commit this crime. anyone that knows his location or anything about him is encouraged to call 9-1-1 immediately and notify the local police department.

>> reporter: as far as brown, do we know anything about this person? does he have any outstanding warrants or anything? >> he does have an outstanding warrant in our case, one counsel of murder and one attempted murder. with regard to criminal history, i don't have that information. >> reporter: as far as brown goofing west oakland, was there a connection? what happened there if take us through that part of the investigation. >> our detectives -- he did we were on patrol and we pursued mr. brown into oakland. our detectives were able to -- able to locate mr. brown's address, in that, we requested the oakland police department, which they located his vehicle. at that time, other teams

responded and took over and we obtained a search warrant for in brown and husband resident and we served the arrest warrant and search warrant, mr. brown was not at the residence. we were able to interview family members. he was not at the location at the time of the search warrant. >> reporter: now, you guys are trying to find him and track anything to pinpoint his location? have >> absolutely, we'll continue to work around the clock because of the nature of this crime. oar i'm sorry, sargeant, are there any thoughts there could be more suspects you are looking for in connection with the livermore shooting? >> we have had witnesses say there is a second suspect, but no one got a good look at the second suspect. we don't have a description as of yet.
