this is the bay area's news station. kron4 news at 4:00 starts now. happening now. a frost advisory in effect for some portions of the bay area. pretty cold out there. here's a look at some of the current temperatures right now where we're seeing portions of the east bay seeing temperatures in the 30s. let's take a live look outside. see what it's like out there. we have the bay bridge and we have the san mateo bridge in the lower right of traffic fine for the moment. there is a hot spot that we'll get to in a bit. temperature wise, it's chilly. one of the coldest mornings we've seen all fall so far. good morning, james fletcher here with annie talking about the frost advisory. >> we have been warning people about the cold temperatures and we were saying if you thought yesterday was cold, be ready for today. definitely triple blanket weather this morning.

temperatures are cooling down into the 30s for a lot of the coldest locations. the coldest readings are in the north bay. 37 in nevada. and these numbers will drop over the next few hours. based on the dew points, we'll drop a few degrees here. upper 30s in vallejo. 37 in pleasantton and livermore. right now in the south bay, you're in the 40s, including san jose. i think you'll drop down into the 30s. that chance is there, which is why san jose, you're under that frost advisory. to the north bay and santa clara valley, you can see shaded in the pink for north bay and also san jose. we're expecting widespread 30s and we could see possible frost this morning. our future cast shows us temperatures by 9:00, we'll be in the 50s, so we're going to be slow to warm up once again. we're going to have lots of sunshine. by lunchtime, a mixed bag of

50s and 60s. warmer locations up in the north bay for napa, santa rosa. fremont and san jose, we'll see some low 60-degree readings by lunchtime. then by 3:00 p.m., we'll see temperatures generally topping out mostly in the 60s once again today under plenty of sun. here's how your highs break down. after a cold start this morning, you may want to peel off a layer for the afternoon. low 60s in antioch. 64 in oakland and low 60s for san francisco, san jose 63. and for our friends in the north bay, looking at a mixed bag of low to mid 60s. expecting another few chilly mornings and then i'm tracking a chance for weekend rain. we'll talk more about that coming up. but first, here's a look at more headlines with james. >> thank you. just want to bring up real quickly, we have breaking news out of the east bay. a deadly shooting on interstate 80. the shooter is on the loose
