this is the bay area's news station. kron 4 news weekend starts now. good morning. we are tracking the rain in the bay area as we take a look at stormtracker 4 radar. it's not just the wet weather we need to know about. we are also tracking very strong winds expected in the bay area later on this morning. good morning everybody. let's take a look at conditions outside right now. golden gate on the left and the san mateo bridge on the ride. the bay bridge toll plaza showing raindrops on the camera lens. they are all wet, by the way, just so you know. >> good news that heavy rain for a while there, but moving

quickly. even in the east bay is going to be moving out today. so it's not an all-day rain by any stretch. the winds you want to take note of. blustery conditions, too. we have a shot here. that's up at -- where is that? >> it's in the sierra. >> there we go. tahoe. >> kirkwood. >> and more is coming this afternoon because don't forget that's further east and that's where all this stuff is going towards as we progress further. here is a quick check again. the radar, boy, that sticks out like a sore thumb. heavy rain in the east bay hills and then down to the south bay that's where again more rain is. remember that line we talked about. that front is about there. now, behind it we are getting post-frontal showers, a few left over. it's going to be around this morning a little bit. but this is the heavier rain as this line goes to the southeast. it will be debarting you. we are left with the winds. wind advisory at 10:00 this morning. it goes through 10:00 p.m. it covers again that basically where most of the heavy rain is now.

that's where the wind advisory will replace it behind the front and along the coastal locations. the peninsula, downtown san francisco included in all of that as well. at the game for the east bay, the oakland raiders going on, 60 at game time, cool and windy. and winds 25 to 30 with gusts to 40. here is a breakdown. a sloppy start. cloudy, showers. by noon a few showers, chilly. our temps there in the upper 50s department. then by 5 p.m. windy and cool and temperatures still hanging in the 50s. we will take a look a at the complete weekend forecast what's left of it and on to next week as well. >> thank you. breaking news this morning. we are learning more about the victims and the terrorists in the paris attacks. this morning seven people linked to the attacks were he detained in belgium. bunt suicide bombers has been identified as ismael omar mostefai. this is video showing the aftermath of the attacks on the streets of paris. 129 people were killed.

more than 300 others hurt in paris on friday. isis claiming responsibility for those attacks. we are also learning more about one of the victims. a student from csu long beach. i want to show you now nohemi gonzalez. she was one of the students there in paris spending a semesterrer studying abroad. sarah shows us how the world is coming together following the attacks. >> reporter: an outpouring of support from around the world for the victims of the terrorist attacks. >> new york city stands together today with our sister city paris. we he feel such deep sorrow. i hope that when they see the support of the people all over the world that's coming out for them that they realize this is the time to heal. >> the world is watching. i don't know how to say it. we have to figure out why this is going on. >> reporter: among the victims is nohemi gonzalez. the 23-year-old was a student at cal state long beach.

>> noemi was something of a star in our department. >> reporter: across paris friday night paris armed with students and suicide vests carried out attacks at six different locations. isis claimed responsibility for the bloodshed. french president francois hollande promises a merciless response. investigators are scrambling to track down possible accomplices. not just in france. arrests in belgium connected to the terrorist attacks. investigators say a car rented in brussels was found near one the sites of the attacks. one of the suspect was known to police. cnn pressed one french senator as he slipped through the cracks. >> a big murderer last time was also known as they were acting like that. >> reporter: some 1,500 [ inaudible ] zoo team coverage continues this morning. the paris terror attacks are affecting a lot of people around the world, including in here in the bay area.

we take look at a video held in san francisco just last night to honor the victims. kron 4 scott rates was there to talk with the mourners. >> it was a letter to the terrorists to stop hurting everyone. we brought flowers and candles and stuff to remember those who this passed in the attacks. >> reporter: san francisco and paris are sister cities. anybody who spent time in paris loves paris. and we are standing here because we love that city. we love those people. we can stand here safely tonight to support peace and to support non-extremism and to take a quiet moment to think about our brothers and sisters in france. >> pretty horrible for everybody living in democracy. >> lucky for us no one in our family or friends in paris right now, none of them had died or got hurt. >> i think this was sort of pointed towards young people in

paris. it was a cool neighborhood. sports arena. i don't know why, but i sort of think the young people are finally going to go, no, no, we are not numb to this. >> i don't like people getting gunned and shooting and hurting people. it's like the country i was born in and, yeah, it's pretty really, really sad for me and my family and also everyone else in paris. >> ♪[ singing ]. >> reporter: reporting in san francisco, scott race, kron 4. at sfo friends and families waited to be reunited with loved ones. they told kron 4 of their horror and resolve. >> i was in paris for the charlie hebdo incident. yes, i have seen the same thing. it's horrific to think that it could happen again. >> there was people with machine guns. police army everywhere in the

champs-elysie. >> they were in their 20s and 30s and hand red. it was increasing and increasing. it was really, really awful. >> some passengers say they regret not being with their families in the days following this act of terror. happening today if you are headed to the raiders game at the coliseum expect to see added security in response to the attacks in paris. the nfl says that there will be additional security both inside and outside all nfl stadiums today. the league says it's spoken with the fbi and says there is no known threats against any stadiums today. the nfl is telling fans to avoid bringing any type of bag to the game this afternoon. kickoff for the raiders game against the minnesota vikings set for 1:05 later today. still ahead on kron 4 news weekend, seven people still in the hospital following that bus accident in union square. the latest on what doctors are saying about their condition. and it's not looking any

a warning for parents about favorite food for kids to tell you about. campbell's soup company is recalling 355,000 cans of spaghettios. pieces of red plastic were found in some cans and campbell's says the product should not be eaten. they have a february 22, 2017 date stamped on them. the upc code on the cans is on your screen. if you bought some of those recalled cans you can take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund. here's a live look for you at stormtracker 4. the heavier rain on to the east bay. concord, walnut creek, a little bit in anitoch as well.

adam. waking up this morning to some rain depending where you live in the bay area. as we look at stormtracker 4 it's mainly falling in the east bay right now. all parts of the bay area pretty much got soaked earlier this

morning in the overnight time. and also we're expecting high winds later today and a high wind advisory, right? >> that's right. wind advisory going on here at 10:00 a.m. but, yeah, as you said earlier, here is the embarcadero and already starting to pick up a little bit of a breeze. those will be swaying a little more later today. big time winds. even in the peninsula, too. the peninsula, the east bay, oakland, then further inland it drops off. further to the south bay not as much. more of a heavy to a light wind. there you go. stormtracker 4, there is the heavier rains. s f for the most part the most urbanized areas of the bay area getting the brunt of the rain. in the south you see the houston rockets rains all the way down -- the heavier rains down there. upstream hardly anything. we may see the skies actually start to try to open up. sun pops out a little bit.

we may goat -- get clouds and a little leftover shower. the cold air in behind it. good news for mountains up at tahoe look at the development of snow there. there is a lot more upstream for those folks. it will be a snowy day up in the mountains today because it will delayed to move on through. from our perspective, expect the winds to really be kicking in here. temperatures in the 50s. we are expecting 60s to come, but it won't feel like it. let's do the precipitation part to go through this. a couple of waves upstream before the noon hour. skies try to open up. we may see the clouds fill back in today. thanks to daytime heighting and a sprinkle or two, a clearing sky condition particularly this afternoon. we are left with the wind. futurecast 4 on those winds to the noon hour, look at that. all of the bay area curled by double digits it looks like. even that the late afternoon. evening hours as well. we are still looking at double digits. oakland at 21, san francisco at 13, and the gusts of course will be higher even up to the north

bay getting some of that, even though somewhat shielded by the hills on the coast. about 2 a.m. and overnight still kind of a breeze hanging around it looks like. so that's what the wind advisory has been posted for. you see the coverage. the east bay shoreline to the south bay and all of the peninsula is covered in all of this. a look at our high temperatures along the peninsula. lower 60s for highs there. along the bay shoreline near about 60. and for the south bay a little bit warmer. not as windy in the late afternoon/evening hours compared to the neighbors to the north. we will see upper 50s it to another about 60 for highs there. we will check on the seven-day forecast a little bit later on. >> dave, thank you. back to the news. happening right now seven people remain hospitalized following that bus accident in union square. you are taking a look at video from the crash from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news. on friday an out of control tour bus hit people, cars and a bicyclist. what doctors are saying about the victims of the accident.

>> reporter: pretty much back to normal. the roads cleared of traffic. the damaged scaffolding moved and the area boarded up. a far cry from the bloody scene not long ago. among the injured brent andrews says eight victims were admitted it to the only trauma center in town. san francisco general hospital. >> what we've seen are facial and head injuries. we have seen a lot of fractures, ribs, arms, legs. and then we have seen some damage to internal organs. >> reporter: the fire department says it used the jaws of life to free six people friday. two on the tour bus. one being the driver. witnesses say the over the tour guide. another pair was pinned underneath. two others in cars bashed by the bus also pulled out of the eight people taken to the hospital. andrews says. >> one has been released. one is a minor. so we can't talk about that person's condition. but of the six remaining, we

have four men and two women. four of our patients are in critical condition and two are in serious condition right now. >> reporter: and still under investigation. what caused the bus to lose control? mechanical malfunction or human error? in san francisco, felipe de gall. we have pictures from a dramatic rescue in the north bay. it was after a car with two people inside dove off a cliff friday. take a look at the photo. you can see the banged up condition of the car after taking that plunge. officials say the car went off the clip and into the ocean and was partially submerged for a time. fire crews saved the man and woman inside the car about an hour after they crashed. they were airlifted to the hospital suffering life-threatening injuries. police say the crash was likely due to drowsiness and that alcohol or drugs did not play a pat in this accident. santa clara county sheriff

has delayed making any decisions about the county's sanctuary city status. at a meeting last night immigrant activists celebrated the delay. santa clara has the third exist undocumented immigrants in the state. activists gathered 4,000 signatures to ignore the sheriff to ignore requests from the customs enforcement office. they say it will help keep families together. >> i was born here. i have had to live my life with being afraid of my mom being deported. my mom is a single mother. if she was taken away, i wouldn't have stayed with anyone because i don't have family here other than her. >> the county sheriff may support cooperation with ice when it comes to convicted violent offenders. this comes after the pier 14 shooting death of keith steinle earlier this year. more bad news for seafood lovers.

on top of the postponement of the dungeness crab season, it could worse and more frequent down the road. they say toxic ocean conditions could become more common for the northeast pacific ocean as the water gets warmer. this warning comes after the department of fish and wildlife indefinitely postponed crab season. it will stay that way until levels of neurotoxins found in local crabs have returned to safe levels. crab season was scheduled to start back on november 7. still ahead on kron 4 news weekend, a little too close for comfort for the warriors at oracle arena. we will have highlights from the game after the break. a live look outside. hardly any traffic at all. slick pavement at the richmond san rafael bridge. for the weekend it is west coast craft in san francisco. hundreds of artists and crafters exhibiting their work at fort mason from 10 this morning to 6:00 tonight and it's free.

denny's. welcome to america's diner. sports this sunday morning. the golden state warriors paying tribute to the victims of the paris attacks last night. oracle arena lit up the flag -- the french flag colors inside and out. the french colors also projected inside the arena where fans held a moment of silence been tip-off. to the highlights of the game. the warriors trying to stay undefeated to start their season and the nets gave them a little bit of a scare. they trailed at half, but steph curry came out firing with 21 second half points. in the third quarter curry passed his dad for the all-time list for three-pointers. and it was andre igodala adding 15 points off the bench, including that three-pointer, with just four seconds left to send the game into overtime.

there. the streets are wet and the pavement is wet. again just an extra warning as you head out this morning. be extra careful because the streets will be slick. and to tell us more about the storm and the fact that we are going to have the rain taper off but expect more windy conditions later today? >> exactly. we are seeing the pictures of the flags flapping around a little bit. you mentioned wet roads, too. don't forget you got to negotiate through the puddles. here is a look at the radar imagery. basically the outline of where the frontal boundary is. we have the heaviest amount in the urbanized areas of the south bay. now extending a little bit to the east bay. it reveals up to anitoch and the north, that's where we're seeing the heavier rains through brentwood. then south there is some heavier rain showers you can see to the southeastern part of the bay

and the south bay. another hour or two or so, this will somewhat clear off. maybe a little sprinkle left over and the skies will actually open up behind all of that. but windy comes with it. san jose, here's how it breaks down a little bit. get up to 59 by 2 p.m. northwest wind though 10-0. that's modest compared to other areas of the bay. 50 on the east bay shoreline and the peninsula where there will be heavier winds than that. i will look at your planning forecast by the noon hour. we are talking a few showers left over, chilly, temperatures in the upper 50s. the skies will open up this afternoon, but windy and cool by 5 p.m. a look at further details coming up. >> dave, thank you. on to decision 2016. the three remaining democratic presidential candidates took to the stage at drake university in des moines, iowa last night. this is the only democratic debate that is going to be held in iowa before the caucuses on february 1st. it was originally supposed to be about the u.s. economy, but the attacks in paris meant more attention was paid to security and foreign policy.

again in december in manchester. new this morning, president obama met with the turkish president just ahead of the g- 20 summit. the deadly attacks in france expected to be on tonight agenda now. speaking to reporters the president said the skies have been darkened in the aftermath of a terrorist killing spree in paris on friday. the two-day summit brings leaders of the world's 20th biggest economies to focus on trade, energy, and the environment. president obama saying that leaders around the world are standing with paris. >> as we ensure to president holiday and the french people that we stand in solidarity with them and hunting down the perpetrators of these crimes and bringing them to justice. >> one lead are not in attendance is french president francois hollande. he canceled his trip following the attacks which killed at least 129 people and wounded

more than 300 others. republican presidential candidate donald trump saying things would have been a lot different in paris had more guns been involved. trump talked about the paris terror attacks at a campaign rally yesterday. at the texas rally he said if the victims were armed they would have defended themselves. trump said it was interesting that paris has one of the toughest gun laws in the world and nobody was armed but the terrorists. >> you can say what you want. but if they had guns, if our people had guns, if they were allowed to carry -- it would have been a much, much different situation. >> trump also criticized president obama's handling of the islamic state group saying the u.s. should be more aggressive in its approach. another republican presidential candidate also criticizing president obama surrounding the attacks. carly fiorina says the

winds. a little bit of rain gear this morning, yeah. but do you really want your wind gear? >> i think we want to look at conditions in the sierra. this is a live view from kirkwood ski resort in tahoe. a lot of snow on the ground there. expecting to see even more snow later today, right? >> it's just getting started out there. a lot more happening. it's kind of a snowy day for those folks today as we see all this move kind of on the way through. and right now just to give you a general view how it is all over the bay the concentration in the east bay and now the south bay still hanging around. rainfall amounts good with this. i have been kind of looking at the survey all over the region and uniform pretty much. we have elevation issues, which tend to spike numbers a little bit. but it's been pretty good with that to around .25-inch to maybe perhaps in some cases .35-inch to .4 inches of rain. this is the far east bay. pleasanton heavier showers there. livermore as well. that continues south. to the south bay a swath of

heavier rains happening off of the east. just to san jose. and we had a few little spritzes and showers pulling around los altos and palo alto and a bit into the hills just west of the coast. most of the peninsula is settling down and points to the north. you can't rule out a little shower left over in the cards. a lot of uniformity with that, even though we have a cold front. what you will notice are the winds later today. let's go through the precipitation part. there is the leftover rain showers we are talking about by the noon hour. starting to clear up through wine country in the north bay it likes. remember with all this moisture at the sur the sun -- the sunday may generate more -- the sun may generate more cloud cover. still remaining a little bit on the cool side. ahead with the winds, they are going to hang around for a while. look at the coverage by 1 p.m. covering a lot of the north bay, the east bay, and down to the peninsula as well. shielded comparatively speaking in the south bay compared to

for your money this morning, kia motors recalling more than 200,000 cars because of a problem with the steering controls. the recall affects 260,000 kia soul from the 2014/2015 model years. the problem could cause drivers to lose control of the car. so far there have been reports of accidents or reports of injury. a warning for parents about a favorite food for kids. campbell's soup company recalling 355,000 cans of spaghetti ohs because of a choking hazard. pieces of red plastic were found in some cans and campbell says the product should not be eaten. the recall have a february 22nd 2017 date stamped on them. the upc code is on your screen. if you bought some of these recalled cans, you can take them back to the store where you

outside. this is broken road were looks like the rain is starting to listen just a little bit there. the pavement still wet from the previous rain. now we are expecting strong winds around the bay area. at the rain starting to move out of the region. expecting pretty heavy duty it wins. >> in some areas 40 miles per hour or so. particularly, areas of the east bay shoreline. a little bit along the shoreline of the southeast also. here is a wide view of the radar. most of the heavy rain now has exited into the valley, but it still hanging around the suburbs of the bay area. let's get a closer inspection of that. still seeing rain holding together. also just south of pleasanton. again, headed toward the east and south. the south bay, again, heavier rains off to these. a little bit near the shoreline. not much in the peninsula now, however, there is a little bash

out to sea and the models even hint at this. we may see a passing shower perhaps in the next few hours. there you have it apartment. then about 3:00 p.m., looks like a lot of the bay area is cleaning up, however, take that with a little grain of salt, if you can. when you get the fun out, that produces more cloud cover into the afternoon. we are seeing clearing skies and the next thing to watch out for is those winds. we do see the winds picking up by 1:00 or so with double digits everywhere. the hourly estimations are not gusts which will be higher than that. that means oakland 21, nba at 4:00 p.m. quite windy there, so definitely maybe some clouds. we see them altogether a double digits all week. some of the inland areas, the structure settled down to the north, but go around up a perimeter and that's where it will hold

we get to 60 sunny skies. cool and windy. gusts about 40 miles per hour. a look at the warning forecast coming up in a bit. we start with breaking news this morning. police have now found a second car used in friday's terror attacks in paris. three assault rifle also found in that car. first vehicle was found near the concert hall. that was where the largest attack happened friday night. that car turned out to be from a belgian rental agency. that led to raids and arrests indulge him this morning were seven family members of one of the attackers were taken into custody. this is new video into the newsroom this morning showing three of those numbers being taken into custody in belgium this morning. they are relatives of ismael omar mostefai. he is the only suspect identified so far. these family members have not yet been officially arrested or charged, but they are being questioned by police. we are also learning more about one of the victims, a student from csu long beach.

for your money this morning, kia motors recalling more than 200,000 cars because of a problem with steering control. the recall affects 266,000 kia souls from the 2014-2015 model years. kia says the problem could cause drivers to lose control of their car, but so far there have not been reports of any accidents or injuries. and a warning for parents about a favorite food for kids. campbell's soup company recalling 355,000 cans of spaghetti ohs because of a choking hazard. you must were found in some of the cans and campbell's the product

major breaking news out of the east bay. learning about a massive sideshow that turned violent early this morning. it ended with shots fired and a police car vandalized. you are looking at video from youtube where people were stomping on a police car. here's what we know. an estimated 500 cars were involved. first, there was a sideshow on interstate 880 near the high- speed exit. police were called out to handle that. those cars been joined an even larger sideshow near international boulevard and 50 fifth avenue. that's where it appears people turned on police. officers were eventually able to get everything under control around 4:30 this morning. no word on any arrests just yet or if anyone was hurt and we have the full videos posted for you online. also now, the four things you need to know for the week ahead for you this week investigators in paris will be working to identify several victims of the paris

looking at that wind advisory. 25 to 35 mile-per-hour sustained, but we may see them gusts a little higher than that up to 50 in some spots as a possibility with that advisory. with leftover for the the rain here, basically up to the central valley. and snow with a quick check on the south bay. not much there but still a little upstream. a couple of these cells may bring a couple showers if you are headed south to around the noon hour. temperatures, despite the fact of the clearing, we won't do much. in the 50s now fighting against cold air coming in here. future cast going forward by the noon hour should clear out. a few stray showers in the far east bay is possibility. the ascension pretty was focused out with the wind advisory in place by about 10:00.

regions reaching middle 70s. note on thursday a notable system comes on maybe a couple showers around wine country but that is it. disabled parking places are not only the only spaces being used by people who shouldn't be there. there's a new problem that's popped up as well. stanley roberts take a look now in this edition of people behaving badly. >> reporter: i want to show you something. watch as this driver gingerly exits her toyota camry. she makes sure the door is locked and heads in. and watch this driver who also exits her vehicle and heads off to go shopping. all the while this black audi has been sitting for about 45 minutes after i arrived at the target parking lot where all the drivers are parked in the electrical vehicle spaces only. in 2011, there was a lot passed to use electric charging stations to park.
