authorities have found more human remains in the south bay, and san jose. yesterday it was in gilroy. they were found near richmond avenue last night. they have not said if the remains belong to a man or woman. they will be examined today, one day after human remains were found in south hill board. they don't believe those remains belong to sierra lamaar. authorities have not identified the latest ones.

report says that buildings need to face repair after the deadly collapse last june. 6 people were killed and more injured when the balcony collapsed. they found the balcony was decaying because of water intrusion. all balconies are now required to have cross ventilation and they need to be made with rot resistant materials. over the past 6 months, the company sent letters to 6,000 property owners and about 72 percent replied. 18 percent do need repair. >> so those 400 odd buildings are now getting building permits and they're getting permits to correct whatever deficiencies are found.

the ntsb released a preliminary report. it shows there were no signs of mechanical issues on the bus and the driver was not intoxicated. two women were killed and others were injured in that crash. the man driving the bus told investigators he felt tired after their stop in gilroy err earlier that morning. investigators are still trying to figure out if fatigue caused the accident. california's high speed road project is hitting a road block. saying the bullet train will not be as fast as promised. voters said that the train would shuttle people from san francisco to l.a. in under 3 hours. it also assumes the train could travel at 220 miles per hour through the mountains which critics say is impossible to do. project officials say that

san jose. here's the scene. this was a car that hit a pedestrian around midnight at winchester boulevard and loma drive. the vehicle -- all they know is a red compact car. we know the victim is a man. that's it. tran is going at the scene. we'll have a live report shortly. and authorities have found more human remains this time in the south bay. the sketons were found near moore park and richmond avenues. they haven't said whether they belong to a man or woman. this comes after a day after remains were found in gilroy. authorities haven't identified the remains but they do not believe they are missing hill teenager la mar. a man has been charged with her murder and standing trial in april. it doesn't appear they are the remains of lamar because of the

calls. earlier this week, a man died when he was swept out to sea in pacifica. so rescuers are going to do a mock rescue and showing people what to do if you get caught in a wave. and good news for drivers in san francisco. the streets were closed and now are open in super bowl city. marcadero now open to traffic. crews were working all week to take down the stuff and pack up all the security bearicased. roads were closed -- barri-indicateds. -- barricades. a police officer was shot and killed at his home earlier. clifford ask more details on how it happened. >>reporter: the vallejo police department has identified the suspect in the murder of 58 gus

vegas and 30-year-old robert vega. police declined to release details about vega but they say he has a connection to the victim. >> there were family members with connection to the victim who said he was the father of the grandson. vega fled the scene taking his 6-year-old with him. after talking to witnesses, police determined that vega had fled to fairfield. >> fairfield police department was contacted later. they were able to locate the suspect and child in front of an associated residence inside a vehicle. they were arrested without incident. or rather vega was arrested without incident and the child was taken into protective custody. >>reporter: investigators also spent a good time of day on thursday searching where vega was arrested. and finally, kron 4 has learned

already looking better to the interchange. so that's a nice improvement. i'm also tracking your south bay contrive. here's a drive time. northbound 280 from san jose to cupertino -- no problems. less than 15 minutes for the total trip. now, back to the desk. thanks robin. 6:17 we want to get to our details that we had about last month's deadly bus crash in san jose. new information comes from the ntsb. a report that was just released on the crash. the report shows there were no mechanical issues on the bus and the reports show the driver was not intoxicated. two women were killed and others were injured in the crash. the man driving the bus -- the bus driver told investigators he felt tired. investigators are still trying to see if fatigue caused the

accident. there were a couple of passengers that told our news that they thought the driver had fallen asleep. california's high speed rail project is hitting a roadblock. saying the bullet train would not be as fast as promised. at that time, they said the train was going to shuttle people from l.a. to san francisco in 2 hours and 40 minutes. but investigators say that travel time doesn't account for areas in urban areas and it assumes the train could travel 220 miles an hour through the mountains. but train officials are allowed to rely on their own experts that say the travel time is possible. and hillary clinton had one goal in last night's debate to stop bernie sanders' momentum. and she was hoping for a bounce

california economy of science will be handing out heart shaped valentine's. there you go. here's a video from last year. the penguins use the valentine's as part of their nest. the valentine's will be handed out at 10:15 this morning. it's a good reminder that valentine's day is sunday. it's an all star game. well you're going to have to reconcile that. i don't know what kind of valentine that would be. you could go to the movies. deadpool -- this is about a mercenary with healing powers. he's wearing red. >> yeah. it's supposed to make a lot of money. so i guess people are going to go to that. maybe the ben stiller and owen wilson zoolander 2. gosh, that opens this weekend, too? i don't want to sit through an hour and a half of it, but i like ten minutes. i fear everything funny is in the trailer which hasn't been that funny. so watch that.
