more big bay area news: the worlds best surfers came out to catch a wave at the titans of mavericks competition. but it was a local who swam awaythe winner is nic lamb from this was the first time since 2014 that the premier big wave surfing compeition was held. lamb has been surfing mavericks since he was just 14-years-old. but this is the first time he has ever won. see the damage caused by an explosion on the plane in mid- air early this month. the cause is suspected to be a suicide bombing. the plane was able to make an emergency landing after the blast. two people were hurt - the suspected bomber was sucked out of the plane. investigators believe the bomb was smuggled on the plane inside a laptop. >> marty:a pacifica woman is grieving ocean currents pulled the couple out to sea last tuesday. kron 4's justine waldman sat down with the widow who describes how her husband died trying to save her from the strong waves. the boundries of what an 'all- electric car' can do. a new feature called - "ludicrous mode" - is getting a lot of buzz. our tech trends reporter gabe slate got in a tesla to show us "one of the complaints we always hear about fully electric cars is they are slow. they don't have goodtesla overcame that. they are fast. and now they are even faster. a new feature was recently added called "ludicrous mode" that will let you hit a button and take the car from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. let's test it out.
