contra costa county sheriff's office says when the deputies "the suspect exited his residence carrying a firearm, he ultimately retreated back into the residence, we were able to evacuate out other family members safely" from there an 11-hour stand off began with the suspect barricading himself inside. "we began the process of introducing chemical agents into the home, raised the firearm up in the direction of our deputy sheriffs, and the deputies in struck the subject" the man died at the scene. neighbors cannot believe something like this happened in their small town with a population of 12-thousand people "we all seem to stick together around here, but i am glad the family is safe" this investigation began last month. the child notified someone they trusted in the home that the molestation has been occuring since 2012.yesterday the contra costa county d.a. obtained dna evidence and issued the arrest warrant. the name of the suspect is being witheld at this time. at the contra costa sheriff's office in martinez

a jury has returned an $8- million dollar verdict. against baby product manufacturer it was a wrongful death lawsuit. involving a 7- month old san carlos girl. kron 4's maureen kelly was there. as the infant's parents spoke out about it today. because they hope the verdict will save the lives of other babies. to someone else. 7 month old abby karow died almost 6 years ago.after being placed face down in an evenflo babygo playpen like this one here at her redwood city daycare. the parents were told abby died from sudden infant death syndrome.otherwise known as sids even though she had none of the risk factors. yesterday the jury placed the blame on the if the baby is put down on that then that baby can not breathe thru that the couple's lawyer took the evenflo baby go mattress pad along with nearly 20 others types to a lab to test the breathability of the fabrics.and found that the mattress pad fabric that abby had been laid down on registered very low.in compared to other brands. the meter that measures the air was literally the same zero'd out reading as a plastic bag

transit system remains elusive for bart engineers. but for passengers. the problem good evening. i'm pam moore. bart carries hundreds of thousands of passengers each day. who have been experiencing slower rides. and transferring from train to bus just to get to their destination. kron 4's chuck clifford has been beginning and joins us now with late information. afternoon that they expect these bus bridges to remain in place through at least monday and then they will need to reevaluate this afternoon, bart was handing out snacks to the hundreds of commuters here in north concord waiting to catch their shuttle bus.bart did say today that it appears that commuters are the new setup. also today, bart said that they are still trying to figure out a mysteries power glitch that was damaging train cars here in north concord on wedneday. they are working with pg&e and outside experts to figure out that problem. in all bart has 58

cars currently out of service, 50 because of this power glitch and they are working to get those cars back into service, even going as far as to scavenge parts from other cars. they have also warned it could be months before all the trains are working. work donw, they are also facing increased critiscm. today state senator steve glazer accused bart officials of mismanagement that has resulted in in unaffordable employee and management compensation, wasteful spending on public relations and image building, inoperative security systems, and the inability to keep the trains running during strikes. we are still expecting a bart spokesperson to arrive here in north concord shortly to give us an update. in concord, charles clifford kron 4 news. >> pam:increasing frustration for riders stuck taking the bus bridge to work or appoinments in the east bay. many having to get up an extra hour or two early just to make it on time. now they are wondering how long they will have to put up with the commute.

period dating back to 2012. take a look at this. police in the east bay are looking for this man who robbed a wells fargo bank. it happened just before three yesterday afternoon in pleasanton. the man walked into the wells fargo on bernal avenue in the pleasanton gateway shopping center. he showed the bank teller a note demanding cash. the bank teller handed over some cash, and the robber ran away. the man arrested on tuesday for crashing into two young boys in castro valley made his first 29-year-old daniel morris did not enter a plea but is accused of hitting two brothers while they were walking to school with their grandmother last monday. an eight-year-old boy had minor injuries. his six-year-old brother had to have his lower left leg amputated after the crash. investigators say the car involved in the crash was one of five that had been stolen from a
