large crowds honoring the victims. sometimes applauding respectfully. that changed. hundreds of men dressed in black with their faces covered invaded the square. we are in our homes, they cried. they surrounded the memorial site. and rolling flags and banners, screaming together. these were right wing

nationalists. loud, aggressive, intimidating, many drinking alcohol. the mothers in the square challenged their behavior. there were scuffles, police struggled to keep them apart. >> we were broadcasting live when someone started letting off fireworks. riot police moved forward rounding the crowd and slowly driving it out of the square. another rival group came announcing the men in blank as racists. >> and the police used water cannons once they were clear of the square. it was all over in about an hour. the memorial was quiet again. but some people here were left even more upset, because of what they had just seen. daniel hollabeck says his 19- year-old daughter lost two legs in the suicide blast at molenbeek metro station.

woods. both directions of highway 84 were closed. as officers and the chp investigated the scene. happening today, the so- called bearded bandit, accused of two robbery charges, set to appear in court. kenneth ellis is accused of stealing more than $24,000 from 11 banks across multiple counties. he was arrested last wednesday, in brentwood, after someone reported seeing him at a safeway. just two days before his arrest, he was accused of robbing two banks in the same day. one in lafayette, and the other in concord. he will be arraigned on those charges today in martinez. to bay area sports now. the warriors one game closer to their run for 73 wins this season. it was the league's best for the league's worse. the warriors beat the philadelphia 76ers last night. another strong performance from clay thompson helped secure the win. he has a combined 80 points in the last two games. the warriors won their 53rd straight regular season game at oracle arena. they are one game ahead of the

the time now is 4:13. as we take a live look outside at the golden gate bridge. let's talk a little bit about the weather and some of the winds we see blowing around out there. annie is here with more on what we can expect for monday. >> it is definitely blustery out there. it is not widespread. where we are seeing the winds. but definitely up along the coast. at the airport as well. >> yes, you showed us that wind gust out at sfo as we take a live look. pretty strong. almost 40 miles an hour just recently. so if you do have incoming flights, this morning, i am concerned about some delays due to the higher winds. we will keep you posted on that. but as you can see, there are planes taking off this morning, and that is good news, there for those of you folks who need to get out of sfo. wind gusts right now, we are still clocking over 30 miles per hour, for sfo now. at 35 for the wind gusts. and 31 in half moon bay. so yes, definitely windy along the coast. and 30 in novato. elsewhere, the wind gusts are not that bad.

sustained winds are roughly around just over 20 miles per hour. in half moon bay. and we are looking at 10 miles per hour in vallejo. 18 in novato. so the winds are spotty as far as the strongest winds across the bay. 40s and 50s as we're waking up. low 50s in san francisco and oakland and san mateo. and 47 in livermore and 48 in san jose and low 50s in half moon bay today. our highs this afternoon, they look like this. a lot of low to mid-60s. a little bit below average for a lot of locations. and we are expecting sunny skies out there. and 63 in san jose today. that is your high. and low 60s in san mateo. and downtown san francisco. in oakland today, look for a high of 64. and low 60s in livermore. so yes, grab a jacket. as you are heading out the door, as today is going to be somewhat a bit on the cooler side. a quick check of the satellite radar picture now. generally, i am looking at dry conditions all across the bay area for the next several days.

but we have a sun system that could bring a little bit of shower activity, north and generally east of the bay area. but because it might be a little close to some parts of the bay area, we are looking at just a slight chance for a shower or two. over the next few days. in the bay area. and a 10% chance. so again, very slight. i think most locations though will stay dry with plenty of sunshine heading into the rest of your workweek. no major changes are on the forecast for now. and so for the next couple of days, as we want to plan ahead, we are looking at a gradual warmup, especially tuesday, and into wednesday, we will see upper 60s, by the middle of the week, and a few clouds, entering the forecast area, but again, dry, and seasonable by tuesday and wednesday. we will talk more about your extended outlook coming up a little bit later. time is 4:14. a look at the -- 4/16. >> hot spot free in the area. and san mateo, looking good.

switching around the lane configuration. and four lanes south on the left-hand side. to accommodate the traffic. coming from the north bay. but right now, pretty smooth. no major trouble spots from novato to san rafael into the golden gate into san francisco. it is going to be a good ride. over to 580 west. a live look at the richmond san rafael bridge toll plaza. also nice and light and quiet. so if you have to drive into the north bay, this morning, it is definitely a good time to do it. because it is delay free. all the way out to highway 101. checking travel times for those of you traveling through the south bay this morning. no major trouble spots from 101, 280 looks good. 11 minutes from the 101 split all the way up to the 85 split in cupertino. and maybe you have to use the guadalupe parkway in san jose. if so, it is going to be a nice ride, from 85 up to 101. >> very good, robin thank you. back to the news, happening today, the terror attacks in brussels are casting a new light how we protect ourselves. and police are looking at specially trained dogs to help out in the effort.

more than police dogs. they are called vapor dogs and they can pick up the scent of a bomb wafting through the area before it goes off. we have more on the specially trained dogs in action. >> times square, long considered a target for terrorism. but someone was looking to set off a suicide bomb here, these dogs may sound the alarm earlier than ever before. and they are no ordinary-bomb sniffing dogs. they are called vapor wafting dogs, and trained to pick up bombs in bags and pick up the scent of a bomb as it wafts through the air. something the human nose expect detect. the dogs were trained at auburn university. >> the standard bomb dog, the explosive detector dog is primed at looking at an object, a backpack that is placed somewhere. a vapor waft dog's ability is to detect the odor coming off of that backpack, on the back of someone as they carry it. >> this video shows a vapor waft dog in action. once he catches the odor in the

air, watch how he never lets up. there are eight vapor waft dogs now deployed to protect soft targets in the new york city area. if one of these dogs does pick up the scent of a bomb, he can follow the plume, or bomb vapor, up to the length of several football fields. it is a vapor, if it leads him to the suspect, he will stop when the suspect stops and sit down to alert the handler. their nose has 220 million cells to pick up a scent compared to 5 million in the human nose. in the worlder counter- terrorism, they are truly man's best friend. happening now, the vapor dogs are being used in new york, but as more are trained, we will start to see them all over the country. at soft targets like airports and popular tourist spots and right here in the bay area. >> in bay area headlines, a man who suffered a medical condition died while driving in san francisco's mission district. and that caused a three-car collision. you can see the accident here in the video. this happened yesterday evening. as the man was driving north on

guerrero street, the emergency responders say he suffered a heart attack or a stroke. and that's what caused him to lose control. after crashing over the center median, and into oncoming traffic, that car hit two other vehicles. one driver was sent to the hospital. with unknown injuries. and the man was pronounced dead at the scene. happening now, police are looking for this man. who went missing in san francisco's western addition neighborhood. perez ray ray yes last seen on golden gate avenue and steiner street. police say he is mentally challenged around speaks very little english. perez was wearing a gray hat and tan brown plaid shirt and blue jeans and dark shoes. he was from alaska in town visiting friends. if anyone sees him, call 911. fire officials are investigating the fire at an abandoned warehouse on vallejo's mayor island. firefighters responded to the report. just about 4:00 or so in the morning yesterday. at jay street. and asbureau drive. witnesses say they heard an

the commute out there this morning. >> not really impacting the commute but there's a high wind advisory for the soon mateo bridge. will start off on the bay bridge. there's a little back up in the cash lanes but we do expect that around 4:30 in morning it starts to back up when the toll tickets head out and it slows down traffic a little bit because they close off the toll booths. some are coming in, it is just a shift change and causing a minor delay. if you have fast track, you will go right through. i think it will clear out the next 5 or 10 minutes. no high wind advisory for bay bridge. it is just 922 soon mateo bridge. very quiet come prosecuting the valley, oakland, union city. if you have to use this be bridge it will be a nice ride from the east bay to peninsula, just be careful if you are on a motorcycle or a high provide

i think the winds will be done with by tomorrow morning, not as blustery, looks like thursday and friday are nice as well into the lower 70s on friday. keep in mind that we have a slight chance for a shower, today and through wednesday. but i think most of the showers will stay well north and east of the bay area. but i want to mention that just in case you encould beer a little sprinkle or two. >> -- -- encounter a little sprinkle or two. no major hot spot, the ride across the golden gate bridge is in great shape. from you to use it you can see that traffic is moving at the limit here in both directions and no problems leaving san francisco: all of your city gate approaches to the golden state looking great. no problems here, come prosecuting the east bay areaing to the north bay if you use it now, it will be about eight to ten minutes for the toll plaza to 101. track your drive times. they all look good around the east bay. 580 west from 238 through

looking at a gorilla at the cincinnati zoo who got in on some of the fun. they filled the garden with treat for apes to find and look at the people watching ton animals searched their enclosure, they found colorful baskets that were fill window painted hard boiled eggs and oranges and other goodies. they even started chewing the basket. that was part of the the zoos annual easter celebration and a neat, not only for apes but also for zoo goers too. >> people in maryland have a different use for their easter treat, sculptures made out of peep. >> yep, the annual peep show. this the ninth annual of the show and you can see the various piece that is were sculpted it -- sculpted out of the candy. that's pretty good. that's swedish chef from the muppet show. people bought tickets. there's a donald trump peep statue. >> wow.
