an update on that sea lion recently discovered on highway- 37 - the young sea lion is being evaulated at the marine mammal center the concern is. he may have brain damage from the same toxic bloom. that almost canceled the crab season this year. as kron four's terisa estacio shows us, on a positive note, the sea lion seems to be in good spirits now that he is safe off the roadway. typically, the center keeps the public far away from rescued sea lions, they don't want the mamamals to get cozy with humans, but on this day they allowed me to go into the cage for feeding time. so i could show you how well, school daze is doing and look how he quickly chomps down his food he is doing pretty well. especially

but, after being scooped up by the c-h-p on the bay bridge. a lot of people have been following his story. catherine heenan is here with the latest. everyone has seen the video of ponch - running across the bay bridge sunday. being followed by c-h-p officers trying to catch him. it's a lot of running for those little legs.and it's hard not to feel sorry for him. the latest on ponch - he went into a foster home thursday. that's because san francisco animal workers want to give him some time to rest and learn to be social again. he's described as nervous - and they're hoping he'll settle down. he 'will' be put up for adoption eventually -- but probably not for a week or so. some people came forward to claim him - but couldn't prove he was theirs. it's still not clear why he was on the bridge. it's believed someone abandoned him by letting him out of a car. >> pam:a salary agreement has been made. averting a five-day strike at 23- cal-state campuses. university officials and the union representing faculty members. made a deal.

ponch went to the foster home last night and is expected to stay there for a few weeks. some people came forward to claim him but no one could prove ponch belonged to them. officers are still not sure how he ended up on the bay bridge but believe someone abandoned him by letting him out of the car. once ponch warms up to people the shelter says they will find the best permanent home for him. the sea lion that first made his debut trying to cross highway-37 in november has made his third appearance. officials say the wayward sea lion has turned up in odd places around the bay.needing rescue three times to avoid injury. c-h-p reports he stopped traffic once again on monday in sonoma county. where he was chased off the road by concerned drivers. members of the marin headlands- based marine mammal center assisted in the resuce and immediately took him to a veterinary hospital.
