conditions to continue cooling through mid-week. you're looking live at the golden gate bridge. take a look at oakland. it's not nearly as hazy but we still have some low clouds out here as well and the wind is going to be a factor for you as you drive on either span this morning. we're seeing gusts in the 20s, in fact, oakland is going to see gusts anywhere from 20 to 24 miles per hour. temperatures as you can see for oakland are going to warm up to 68 degrees that's just a little shy of where we were expecting to get to yesterday and 22-mile an hour sustained winds in oakland. 8 in san jose, and they'll pick up a as we head into the afternoon. temperatures at the moment, mild, 56 in san jose, 57 in oakland. we'll see it warm up to probably the 60s and 70s for most of the bay.

following this morning we're learning more about the stanford rape case. it's caused outrage of course after a former swimmer was sentenced to only 6 months in jail. we now know a juror who served on the trial delivered a letter to the judge and wrote in part quote, shame on you. >> these transcripts from the broke turner trial provide a look into the controversial sentence. a judge sentenced him to 6 months in jail after he was convicted of sexually assaulting an unconscious woman. the victim's letter read at sentencing has gone viral but now we know the prosecutor in the case for you to for a tougher sentence calling the victim's statement powerful and urging the judge to sentence turner based on his actions alone. the judge is facing a recall campaign. at sentencing

happening now police are looking for an aggressive robber, he commit 3 robberies on sunday and police are warning that he's and dangerous. >> according to the police department between 9:20 and 9:45 sunday evening this man armed with a gun committed 3 robberies across the city and at least in 2 locations shots were fired. the suspect allegedly attacked a woman using an atm outside this bank. and robbed a nearby walgreens which is where these photos were taken. the third location was several blocks away at a convenient store. monday afternoon we spoke with the owner of the store. he declineding to on camera but did say that the experience had been upsetting. he said that month one was injured but the suspect did take a significant amount of money. the suspect also apparently fired at least one shot into the air as he was leaving.

with as well. temperatures at the moment we're seeing widespread 50s once again. the wind keeping things mixed up once again. 56 in san jose and a handful of 50s in the east bay valleys. let's take a look at what we see later this afternoon. temperatures along the east bay shore line we'll begin there should be maybe a little bit cooler than yesterday. in fact, oakland will be around 68 degrees, widespread 68s and 69s for the shore line. a lot of mid to upper 70s, 71 in pitsford. and then down near livermore we're looking at low 70s. the wind is going to may a large part in making it feel cooler as we head into the middle of the week of temperatures in the south bay setting up into the low to mid-70s this afternoon. we'll begin in san francisco we're calling for 61 in the city warming to the mid and upper 60s

as you head down 101. along the coast upper 50s to low 60s this afternoon. the north bay looking at widespread 70s, partly cloudy will be the sky condition today but windy as well especially this afternoon with those gusts kicking up. around the bay forecast calls for continuing cooling as we head towards wednesday, thursday we'll introduce that chance of rain for the north bay. right now it looks like it's going to stay north of the golden gate bridge. there a warming trend after that, friday, saturday sunday we'll get the inland highs back into the mid-and upper 80s. that's the weather. how about the traffic? good. traffic is off to a great start as you said there's a high wind advisory for some of our bridges like 92, the sign thaw see activated there on the right-hand side side of the screen says there's a high wind advisory in place. so be extra

careful. those of you in high profile vehicles watch your speed. but so far traffic is smooth from 880 across the bridge all the way out to 101. if you need to get into the north bay it's at the limit no major problems right now from the toll plaza out to 101. it is a quick 8-minute trip. over to the golden gate bridge traffic nice and smooth. the yellow truck thaw you see that's a zipper truck bridge crew switching around the lane accommodation so they'll switch it to 4 and 2. on the left that is south 101. so both sides checking in accident and stall free. you can see the whole map it's looking good for all of your major freeways, the east shore 24 to and from, all green so no major trouble spots. i'll take a look at some other bridges and drive times for the south bay coming up in a few minutes. our top story this morning

we're learning more about the shooter behind the terror attack in orlando, a television crew got inside the apartment of omar mateen, inside the home you can see a young child lives there. we are learning mateen has a 3-year old boy. this is video from a reporter yesterday one day after the fbi finished raiding it. a note left in the home says the agency took 9-millimeter cartridges, an ipad, a phone and a computer. and a cd labeled with mateen's name. a note also reminds him and his wife that they have an appointment. a group of a bay area lawmakers are coming together in the light of the terror attack in orlando. the group is discussing a package of gun safety bills they are planning to push forward in the state capitol this week. some of the legislation was inspired by the shootings last year.
