valencia and 30th street is closed, as fire crews assess the happened. the fire started around 2:30 yesterday afternoon at a building on mission street it took fire crews nearly four lost everything.

>> alecia:for your money:. here are the stories from the week -- that could impact your bottom line. california lawmakers approved a budget that grants counties 270- million dollars for jail construction. 20-million dollars of the budget will go into napa county's jail. which was damaged in an earthquake back in 20-14. legislative budget committees originally rejected a proposal for an additional quarter- billion dollars towards jails by governor jerry brown, but later changed their minds.

the collision was reported at around 12-45 in the morning. it happened here on hillcrest avenue just south of wildflower drive. antioch police say the driver barreled into this tree here in the median. these images of the aftermath courtesy of east county today dot net. witnesses say one person was ejected from the car. possibly the driver. who police say later died on scene. four others were rushed to local hospitals with severe, but non- life threatening injuries. all four now listed in stable condition. the contra costa county fire protection district responded to the call as well. police have yet to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. it's also possible speed may have been a factor as well. but right now, one family is grieving the death of one of their own. the sad result of a violent crash. in antioch, philippe djegal, kron four news. >> alecia:also out of the east bay. gun owners flocked to pittsburg city hall to sell their unwanted weapons.

it was part of the gun buyback program for contra costa county. the buyback was anonymous and police officers did not check for warrants. the only thing people had to show, was proof of residency. inside some of the bins, were a number of fully automatic assault weapons. one man at the buyback felt those types of weapons need to be off the streets. >> alecia:gunowners received payment in the form of target giftcards. ranging anywhere from 50-350 dollars, depending on the type of gun and its condition. the pittsburg police department has had this gun buyback program for a couple of years now. each time, they have received about 300 weapons from people. >> alecia:in national news.

as the devestation from the deadliest mass shooting in our nation's history still settles in.loved ones of the 49-victims are now saying their final fairwells. tearful embraces all through the day yesterday.during the funeral service for 21-year-old cory connell. he was walking out of the pulse night club with his girlfriend when the shooter walked in and opened fire. connell's girlfriend survived.but he did not. president obama honored the victims earlier this week, by laying wreaths at a memorial site. and in his weekly address, the president reflected on his visit. with the families of the victims. 29-year-old omar mateen opened fire inside a gay nightclub in orlando last sunday. killing 49 people and injuring dozens more. and back in the bay area.

the oakland a's took on the los angeles angels of anaheim in the second game of their three game series. and for all you giants fans out there, on the mound was a familiar face. tim lincecum made his debut for the angles. it was his first m-l-b start in since june of last year. he looked good in this one pitching six strong innings. he would allow one run on four hits, striking out two batters on the afternoon. it was all angles in this one. the a's only run of the game came in the third inning. the angles won this one easily, cruising to a 7 to one win. these two teams will wrap up their series in oakland today. 1st pitch is at 1:05. >> alecia:as for the giants. they were looking to keep the

good times rolling in tampa bay before continuing their road swing to pittsburg. the giants were down early in this one before a scary moment turned things around. let's take a look at what happened. joe panik would stay in the game and be ok. as a matter of fact, four innings after he took that hit, panik would hit a three run blast to right field to put the giants on top and get out of this one with a win. he would finish the game with a career high four r-b-i's. the giants have been hot lately. winning their last seven in a row. they will look to stay hot today and finish the sweep of the rays. 1st pitch will be at 10:10. and happening tonight. the golden state warriors will look to finally once and for all close out the clevland cavaliers and win the n-b-a championship. the dubs held a three games to

schaaf announced on friday the city of oakland lost its 3rd police chief in 8 days. city administrator sabrina landreth is now be in charge of o-p-d. there is no interim chief and national search is underway now to find someone to head the department. the oakland police department is in the middle of several scandals right now. the first involves "disgusting allegations" as the mayor put it that several officers had sex with a teenage call-girl, who is now 18. kron 4 was the first to report these allegations. and while this was coming to light, chief sean whent resigned after 2 decades with o-p-d. the mayor then appointed ben fairow to the top job. but fired fairow after she "lost confidence" in him. schaaf learned he had an affair 10 years ago. fairow was only on the job for about a week. then came this, a high ranking police sergeant was placed on leave for allegedly letting his girlfriend write up police reports. now, the latest to go is former assistant chief ben figueroa. he quit after 3 days on the job. he will resume his role as police deputy. we also learned the department is also wrapping up an investigation into officers who exchanged racist text messages.

we are now hearing from the oakland police officers' association. the president of the association said quote. "what i will not do is demonize and declare war on an entire religion." "we aren't vigilant and we aren't smart. and we have to go and we have to maybe check respectfully the mosques and we have to check other places in the wake of orlando, donald trump is doubling down on his call for a ban on muslims immigrating to the u-s. but could there be ban backlash. democrats are quick to point out a proposed ban wouldn't have stopped the shooter - who was born in new york in the late 1980s. "a ban on muslims would not have stopped this attack. neither would a wall. i don't know how one builds a wall to keep the internet out." >> alecia: >> reporter:clinton's comments could help explain a bump in her national poll numbers. in a survey taken since the shooting- clinton leads trump by five points - with some polls showing her with an even larger lead - as much as 12 points.

clinton's campaign isn't taking any chances - instead this weekend they're launching new ads - like this one - in 12 states. the ads are a reminder of the big advantedge clinton's camp has when it comes to fundraising. for republicans - the convention is less than a month away - and there are still questions if major party leaders like paul ryan will continue to support trump. for your money:. >> alecia:here are the stories from the week -- that could impact your bottom line. california lawmakers approved a budget that grants counties 270- million dollars for jail construction. 20-million dollars of the budget will go into napa county's jail. which was damaged in an earthquake back in 20-14. legislative budget committees originally rejected a proposal for an additional quarter- billion dollars towards jails by governor jerry brown, but later changed their minds. governor brown and county officials say the state needs money to provide more rehabilitation programs to help felons change their lives. since 2007 the state has already provided $2.2. billion towards jails.

antioch police say the driver barreled into this tree here in the median. these images of the aftermath courtesy of east county today dot net. witnesses say one person was ejected from the car. possibly the driver. who police say later died on scene. four others were rushed to local hospitals with severe, but non- life threatening injuries. all four now listed in stable condition. the contra costa county fire protection district responded to the call as well. police have yet to determine if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. >> reporter:it's also possible speed may have been a factor as well. but right now, one family is grieving the death of one of their own. the sad result of a violent crash. in antioch, philippe djegal, kron four news. >> alecia:also out of the east bay. gun owners flocked to pittsburg city hall to sell their unwanted weapons. it was part of the gun buyback program for contra costa county. the buyback was anonymous and police officers did not check for warrants. the only thing people had to show, was proof of residency. inside some of the bins, were a number of fully automatic

>> alecia:a visibly angry libby schaaf announced on friday the city of oakland lost its 3rd police chief in 8 days. city administrator sabrina landreth is now be in charge of o-p-d. there is no interim chief and national search is underway now to find someone to head the department. the oakland police department is in the middle of several scandals right now. the first involves "disgusting allegations" as the mayor put it that several officers had sex with a teenage call-girl, who is now 18. kron 4 was the first to report these allegations. and while this was coming to light, chief sean whent resigned after 2 decades with o-p-d. >> alecia:the mayor then appointed ben fairow to the top job. but fired fairow after she "lost confidence" in him.

schaaf learned he had an affair 10 years ago. fairow was only on the job for about a week. then came this, a high ranking police sergeant was placed on leave for allegedly letting his girlfriend write up police reports. now, the latest to go is former assistant chief ben figueroa. he quit after 3 days on the job. he will resume his role as police deputy. we also learned the department is also wrapping up an investigation into officers who exchanged racist text messages. >> alecia:we are now hearing from the oakland police officers' association. the president of the association said quote. >> alecia:in national news. the parents of the two-year-old child killed in an alligator attack say they are overwhelmed with the support they have received. matt and melissa graves said they appreciate the love from their friends, the community and from around the country. the parents of lane graves have been mourning since tuesday night when their son was snatched from ankle-deep water by a 7-foot alligator. this happened at a lake at the disney hotel in orlando, florida. the family is asking for privacy as they lay their son to rest. use video with the kids photo and the parents. then show scene video. us-alligator drags toddler parents 'overwhelmed' by support after gator kills toddler walt disney world is making some changes since the attack. they roped off the lagoon where the alligator killed the 2-year- old boy. the company is also taking steps to protect guests from wildlife. disney put up new signs around resorts. they say "danger, alligators and snakes in area, stay away from the water," and "do not feed the wildlife." disney is also installing a rope fence to prevent children from wondering into the water at all of its resort beach locations. >> alecia:they say the barriers
