"his credibility is at issue on every single case he has ever touched" the investigation that is of particular concern involves the 2014 suicide of irma huerta lopez. she was the wife of opd officer brendan o'brien, who killed himself a year later after leaving a note implicating himself and several opd officers in having sex with an underage girl. >> reporter:sgt. gant was the lead investigator in the death of officer o'brien's wife. that is until sgt. gant was placed on admin leave earlier this year in connection to a domestic violence incident in hayward involving his wife. now what does all of this, have to do with the racially themed text messages you ask? that is a good question! considering that according to our sources, internal affairs already investigated the text message case and found nothing wrong, and because the statute of limitation on issuing discipline has come and gone. some are suggesting that it is a smoke screen sent up by a troubled opd sergeant to deflect from his own problems. we are reaching out to sgt. mike gant hoping he will be able to shed some ligh all this. in o madyun
