look at a situation here on highway 4, robin. so this is a fatal accident already. >> it is a fatal accident that happened about an hour ago. >> okay. >> c h p received a report of an overturned suv. it is in the antioch area. because it is so early and the counter commute direction it is not causing a huge backup but we have two separate accidents. east 4 at hill crest, the three right lanes are blocked. an overturned suv and behind that a second crash happened that is not blocking. nothing but green right now. no major delays along the stretch but chp issued a traffic alert and they look to have it cleared by 4:30 and that's within the next 30 minutes, i will keep an eye on it. hose of you working you areas three

right lanes are blocked. and one lane blocked out of hayward. around the bay area, no major problems. if you need to get to san francisco it is quiet at the bay bridge toll plaza. a live look at traffic. at the bay a good ride, no major troubled spots from the eastbound into san francisco, 8 to 10 minutes for the average drive from the maze to the skyline. the fatal accident at antioch where three right lanes are closed. we will have an update coming up in a bit. good morning and the fog has returned to the bay. the golden gate a little bit of glaze and haze for us as we get things started. here is a look at the fog that rolled on from last night. covering those inland valleys as well as you can see in the wee hours of the night and at 4:00 a.m. everybody covered and this will mix out as the morning starts to progress. temperatures for us right now,

we have a lot of upper 50s at work. so not a lot of temperature movement. a little bit milder to the south bay. 60 san jose and 55 san francisco. and 59 covers most of the eastbound shoreline. this compares with yesterday at this time, pretty close on target here. we are a degree or two ahead for some parts of the eastbound. two to three degrees ahead of san jose. for the ball game, the giants and the rockies. 7:15. the temperatures in the upper 50s and clouds return and the fog. and that chilly breeze out of the southwest at 20 to 25. here is the low down for oakland. the temperatures mid 60s, foggy morning. clearing and cool. will cover us in the afternoon and over the next about 8 hours partly cloudy skies or that's basically the inland spots that will clear out for a nice sunny skies morning. 8:00 a.m., 59 and quickly bouncing to 75 it looks like by the noon hour. 64 around the bay. we will take a look at the extended forecast and what temperatures will be like in

matter on your left-hand side where the fireworks in san francisco and then from our nation's capital in d. c. and on the right from minneapolis. we showcase the celebrations and all over the country live last night. if you tuned in, you saw the show and it was quite spectacular. and the celebrations around the bay area also meant that police were out in force making sure that everybody was following the rules and staying safe. major crack down on illegal fireworks under way in several cities and that includes concord. all firetruck are banned in contra costa county. we rode along with a special fireworks suppression team. there was an arrest in a violent assault suspect on this 4th of july holiday. these two officers are a part of concord police department's illegal fireworks suppression team.

since july 1st, concordpolice have received sixty fireworks calls. it is illegal to set off fireworks anywhere in contra costa county. >> as of right now, it is zero tolerance. >> and to enforce the zero tolerance this independence day holiday concord police have ever available officer on duty. >> our main goal is to keep people safe and to have a happy 4th of july. for those planning on setting off illegal fireworks ... concord police say they'll be out there looking for you. in concord, kron4 now. fireworks are banned in san jose. there is a new tactic to catch people. asking people to report their neighbors and you can do that by filling out i should say a short form on the city's web site. so they have made it easy for you. happening right now in the south bay, police are investigating an officer shooting in san jose. we have video from the scene. it happened before 5:00

yesterday evening on feller avenue it is still unclear what exactly prompted police to start shooting. police saying that officers respond to a call for service and that the shooting happened later. the man had a gun and bleeding from his forehead and not cooperating and that is confirmed by witnesses but not police. so far police are not commenting. we will keep you posted so stay tuned for that. uc berkeley has a vigil for the student killed with 19 other hostages during a terrorist attack in bangladesh. sophomore teresa james was in the capital for a summer internship on e commerce. she was 19 years old. the village it happening at 9 on the campus of berkeley.

bit. we are back at 4:15. want to get an update from robin on a hot spot in the east bay. bring us up to speed on highway 4. >> in the eastbound direction. it is not causing a page delay but we have two separate accidents in the same area. >> we do, okay. >> and one is an overturn. we got a call about a vehicle that ran off of the road in an suv and flipped over on the hillsides and a second accident behind the scenes. three lanes of traffic blocked off, east 4 at hillcrest and ch p wants it out of the way in the next 15 minutes. it is unclear if they will extend the closure or not. it is not causing any major

traffic delays but heads up for the activity. you may see it if you are traveling westbound, the commute direction out of brentwood oakly and antioch. heads up for the hot spot. tracking the drive time to make sure it is not causing major delays for the westbound ride. there is the drive time there. 13 minutes from 160 to 242 and no other major problems. the south bay checking in problem-free. let's check in on the bridge. 580 westbound towards the toll plaza light and get to go to north bay this morning. so no problems for you here. if you have to use it, 80 is looking good and 101 and the average drive time 8 minutes from the 101 connector and i have not seen problems from 101 into or out of san rafael. looking at the golden gate bridge coming up in my next report. dave. thank you, robin.

good morning and you saw the bridge check there and seeing a little bit in the way of fog as we start the day. marine layer is more of a hassle to get it mixed out. here is the progress according to the fog liftoff as our models are telling us by high noon. getting those numbers pretty good except the peninsula and the coast, that is where it is the most tenacious throughout the day with the low lying clouds, by 9:00 it covers a good bit of the urbanized bay area. the south bay has more trouble getting there. you can see the numbers lofty as late as one a.m. tomorrow. we do get them down just before dawn. and then you can see the fog lifting off. 9 a.m. for the same process tomorrow morning. we are dealing with the process of onshore flow and a trough up to the north and to the east high pressure that we have been talking about. so clearing in the east bay. temperatures now, upper 50s and you can see in most locations, 54 san francisco and 60 for san

jose. the warmup today reflects that what we are talking about with the clearing. you can see the temperatures start to pounce by the noon hour we get reds involved but still on the east bay quite chilly with greens in the peninsula. tonight 6:00 and ocean cooled air start to spill over in the valleys and flood much of the east bay region as we get chilly. 58 for san francisco and the cloud cover lingering. 77 palo alto and 71 for san mateo. pacifica 60. pal owe alto 87 and 81 melpinas and san jose 80 and 81 for santa clear ras. the east bay shore. temperatures in the chilly 60s. 69 for oakland and 78 for hayward and then in the mid-80s for the east as you can see

pleasanton at 85 with san ramon and walnut creek. we will see the skies open up rapidly in the east bay locations and that's reflected here. temperatures continue to slide. by the time we get to friday and saturday between us kids here, the low we are talking about does move as it gets closer, the opening for a chance of showers in the far north up in northern cal. although for us it looks like it will by pass us at this point. we will let you know if it changes in the future. james. any enough, thank you, dave. we are tracking the bill california wildfires that are burning this morning. you see some of those action shots here behind me as firefighters are working to contain now nearly 4800 firefighters on the battle lines right now. 12 wildfires burning across the state. the wildfire in el dorado has burned 5000 acres. the trail head fire, it started tuesday and grew as it charge the through very rough and as you can see very inaccessible terrain. a tough fight.

that fire 50% contained this morning. 2600 homes and businesses threatening. a wildfire is burning in fresno as well. fresno county. firefighters making progress on a fire near colinga. the curry fire and broke out on friday and grew to nearly 3,000 acres and that cause is still under investigation this morning. and illegal firework being blamed for this fire in the east bay. it sparked explosions that could be seen across contra costa county and investigators are trying to set down who set them off. we have the story from brentwood. >> reporter: it is almost hard to believe, a brushfire can get this big! >> we had flames 50 feet in the air. >> reporter: but in dry, windy weather no surprise. >> came home and looked down to the creek area and completely on fire. >> reporter: no surprise someone was fooling around with

fireworks on the 3rd of july. >> neighbors have told us that there was about 20 guys that came down our street all dressed in black and a look out down there at the end of the street and they heard fireworks going off. >> even as i walked through a neighborhood in mars creek i heard fireworks. one woman says they have been going out since thursday. >> we try to watch out for each other. >> it is quite scary. >> getting numerous hours across the county based on the fireworks. >> reporter: this fire that burned on both sides of the creek towards a roofing company's yard and the flames almost reached the home of an elderly woman. >> she was fine. we hopped the fence and got her out. >> it took 6 different fire agencies and one from livermore to get things under control. in daylight hours it is so easy to see how on dry everything is. listen to how dry the plants are, the same type that has fueled the opposite side of the

prowl plaza. >> we are tracking weather around the bay. a live look, the cam in san francisco looking out at the bay bridge and port of oakland in the background and clouds overhead. dave is looking at the forecast today and those clouds, i live well into the east bay. over my house there as well. >> you had clearing in the afternoon obviously. >> yes. >> and that is the big thing. in the city it is different because you have the continued onshore flow. it will drift south and get cooler for the weekend before it starts to move off. it has a little chance of providing us few showers potentially on saturday. one of those things that we will watch it but it is not officially on the forecast. the fog affecting everyone and here is how it looks in and thickens up from 10:30 last night and starting to fill in the nooks and crannies and some of those valleys about 4:30 a.m. we get the sun out and the performance of mixing this out. temperatures for us, upper 50s will do it for the east bay in

that's the problem and the clouds linger for downtown and the bay. there's a look at the fog tracker as we go forward through the process. getting through high noon and you can see in the inland and also in the east bay shoreline. around downtown it will linger and maybe overcast too particularly in the coastal areas later in the day. then we get to 9:00 and already it comes back in with the south bay and the east bay over the hills pretty much insulated at that point until later in the night. you can see it starts to fill in the valleys later on in the overnight and thicken up around the bay and at 9:00 a.m. clearing out and you can see to the far east and to the south bay. the temperatures were at 59, kind of an average number and 58 livermore and 68 for san jose and mountain view at 61 with downtown san francisco at 54. looks to be a chilly day ahead. watching the models and where the clearing will happen. over the east bay reaches, that is where the 80s will be hiding

and meanwhile and cool on the shoreline and downtown will stay quite chilly and looking like temperatures will stay sub 60s. let's get a closer inspection. 71 for san mateo and 76 for redwood and palo alto at 77 and heading further to the south where the 80s are hiding. 81 for santa clara and cupertino 82 and the east bay shoreline, sunny once we get through the clearing. 69 for oakland and 84 for danville and 83 for concord and 85 for san ramon and walnut creek. in the seven-day forecast we cool down before we warm up. actually as we head to the weekend as the low starts to move we see numbers fall to around 80 or so saturday. warming up to next week and we may revisit the 90s by tuesday. it has been a busy 4:00 hour for you, robin, what is going on? >> watching the major accident

at antioch. it happened at 2:55. east 4 at hill crest. not a fatality but major injuries to the driver of an suv that ran off of the road near the hillside. as they investigate and wrap up, tow trucks rolling out to the scene, the three right lanes blocked and shooting for 5:00 to have it out of the way. not backing up traffic. you may have a view heading westbound getting back to work and the traffic is smooth out of oakley through antioch. no major delays. checking in on the bridges. we had an accident on the bay. blocking two lanes and out of the way so that portion of the ride looks good. behind the toll plaza, the usual backup on the right-hand side and backing up towards mid lot and not bad and wide open and the fast track it is wide open and less than 15 minutes from downtown oakland to san francisco. checking in on let's head over to the richmond center bridge. 580 westbound quiet throughout the morning commute.

feller and story road. the san jose police department, they just left the scene, and this is about 12 hours after they arrived. let's show you video of exactly what happened. approximately around 5:00 last night, family members, they were the one who is called the san jose police department, asking that officers check on this 18-year-old man. when they arrived, they saw him with a self-inflicted wound, possibly a shot to his forehead. he was bleeding. he stepped outside. officers tried to tell him to give up his gun, his firearm, but that was not the case. the officers felt they were threatened. they opened fire on this man. we're not exactly sure if he died at the scene. family members say pebbly that he was suicidal, but they're not exactly sure. the san jose police department, they're still investigating the case. i tried to get near the family home this morning, but they just returned from the san jose police department. we hope to talk to them a little later this morning, but we do know that he's an 18- year-old man who

there, even more so than we have now. so the program is, the next 4 days or so, continue on with the on-shore flow. let's keep the fog going on. it will mix out later in the afternoon. let's watch how it goes forward with today. looking pretty good in most east bay reaches. along the coast, that fog continues to hoffer and the low clouds and whatever. wind comes back again. we're in this kind of sing- songy pattern next couple days. temperatures reduced even more so as we head into the week. some of the fog getting to some of the valleys, as you can see off to the east late in the evening hours. the warmup today, there you see some of the reds going off in the far east. meanwhile along the east bay shoreline, remaining kind of cool with some 60s. but for downtown san francisco, might be more of a struggle as we'll stay in the 50s territory. there you can see as it returns spilling back into the valley, even the sacramento valley by later on tonight. temperatures today, again downtown will be chilly. 59 we'll go for.

toll plaza without a major delay. 15 minutes ago, we had a little bit of a back lane. it's a great ride in through san francisco. we had an accident westbound west of the tunnel. that quickly cleared. so it's going to be a good commute, less than 15 minutes from the maze to the skyway. for those of you who need to get in the north bay this morning, a look at 580 west approaching the toll plaza. also a good ride. nothing to worry about there. 92 has been fairly quiet. had a couple problems. that's gone. traffic is looking good here, continuing to the peninsula. no problems for those of you have to get to -- highway 286. we had a fatal accident in ant i don't care. it was east 4 at hillcrest, blocking 3 lanes. that's clear. now westbound traffic, the commute direction, is looking good, 14 minutes from the 160 split up to 242 and concord. the usual stop and go traffic

leaving the atmont. no problems through livermore and dublin and castor valley. looking good. under 30 minutes from 205 to 80. if you need to had north on 101, from 85 all the way up to that 237 split, your average drive time clocking in at a quick 18 minutes. >> robin, thank you. time now is 5:17. we got the latest on the wildfires that are burning across california. a lot of firefighters spending the 4th of july battling about 12 wildfires burning across the state, including this one here. this is burning just outside the sacramento area. it's called the trail head fire. it started last tuesday, and has quickly grown now through a lot of really hard-to- reach terrain. you can see how rough and steep the hill studies are. the fire has burned 8 and a half square miles. firefighters made pretty big progress. they're halfway there. firefighters lifted mandatory evacuations for all areas impacted by the fire at about 8:00 last night.

good news for residents in that part of california. meanwhile firefighters have almost reached full containment on the curry fire. that's burning in fresno county. that fire has burned more than 4 and a half square miles since it started last friday. it's 90% contained as of the last update we got. some good news also on that front. >> thanks a lot, james. 5:18. a vigil is going to be held for a uc berkeley student who was among the 20 hostages killed by militant in an attack on a restaurant in bangladesh. she was an econ major at cal. she is originally from india, and was working at a bank as part of a program arranged but uc berkeley's center for bangladesh studies. she had graduated from an international school in dhaka, transferred to cal last year. that vigil is at noon today on the berkeley campus. and new this morning, the

bodies of seven japanese citizens who were killed in the bangladesh attack have been returned to their home soil. this is video showing the arrival early this morning in tokyo. five men and two women from japan were among the hostages killed. they were private consultants working on a japanese government development project in bangladesh. in other world headlines -- >> crews have recovered more bodies from a site of a massive weekend suicide bombing that happened in central baghdad, bringing the death toll there to at least 175. that new number just coming out this morning. isis has claimed responsibility for the attack. a suicide bomber hit a busy marketplace on sunday night, and police are still going through, looking for missing people. so the death toll could rise. this was one of the worst bombings in iraq in 13 years. well new this morning, the juno spacecraft is finally positioned to begin its real mission five years after it was launched. that spacecraft is studying the

evolution of jupiter and composition of that gas giant. jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system, but we don't know a whole lot about it. scientists don't know if it has a solid core. as kim hutcher son explains, we may soon get some answers. >> reporter: happy nasa scientists celebrate their success at the juno spacecraft enters orbit around jupiter. it was a tricky maneuver. >> this breaking post had to be done correctly, at the right time. just enough to got it into the proper orbit. >> reporter: juno will circle jupiter 27 times over the next months. it will orbit the poles on a path designed to dodge jupiter's radiation belt. >> jupiter has a long set of magnetic field lines that captures radiation, and the spacecraft is going to have to fly through those magnetic fields. >> reporter: seven scientific instruments will record and send back information about the gas

seriously implicated in the murder. the coast guard had a busy event day out on the bay. four people were rescued in three separate incidents off the coast of rod,o, treasure island, and san francisco. crews rescued a man from the water -- he was on a ten-foot sailboat around 3:50 yesterday. around 4:50 they were notified that somebody on a 30-foot sailboat was clutching his chest and yelling for help. at 7:00 in the evening last night, a response boat encountered a kayak that had capsized. two people were rescued from the water there and taken back to shore. a patrol lee is behind bars this morning, accused of having a gun at a beach in south lake tahoe. here is the man police arrested: shawn francis wannamaker. police say he pulled out a gun during an argument near a motel 6. it all started saturday night.

police say wannamaker hid from them until sunday. he tried to run, they say, hid in a nearby bathroom, but the officers arrested him, and he's being held in the el dorado county jail without bail. to politics this morning, and president obama will be campaigning with hillary clinton today for the first time in 2016. they're making a joint appearance in charlotte, north carolina. the event was first set for last month in wisconsin, but it was rescheduled in the wake of the order the roar attack. president obama officially endorsed clinton several weeks ago, saying that he doesn't think there's ever been someone so qualified to be president. clinton's campaign believes obama will be able to reach out to voters who flock to support him back in 2008 and 2012. clinton and president obama were fierce rivals when they ran against each other in 2008, but have since found common ground. in fact, the president, as you know, asked clinton to serve as his secretary of state for a number of years. and hillary clinton is leading donald trump in the latest presidential poll.

a new "usa today" suffolk university poll shows clinton leads trump by five percentage points. even though clinton is still leading, it appears her lead is shrinking. . that poll found 61% of voters are worried about the presidential race, and 23% say they're excited by it. donald trump is getting criticized by this tweet he posted over the weekend. did you see it? it takes a swipe at hillary clinton and shows a six-point jewish star on top of a pile of money. trump says it's a basic star used by sheriff's departments across the country. a mobile of the antidefamation league says trump's attempts to dismiss concerns about a star on top of a pile of cash is absurd and offensive. the clinton campaign is criticizing trump, calling the

dhaka and transferred to cal last year. that vigil on the berkeley campus is at noon today. and new this morning, the bodies of seven japanese citizens who were killed in the bangladesh attack have been returned to their home soil, and here's video showing the arrival in tokyo. five men and two women were from japan. they were among hostages killed, and they were private consultants working on a japanese government development project in bangladesh. firefighters across california meanwhile have spent the 4th of july holiday battling about 12 wildfires burning across the state, including this massive wildfire burning just outside the sacramento area. it's called the trail head fire. you can see it's being attacked from the air, from the ground. although the terrain has been really hard to access, it's been rough on firefighters -- the fire has burned eight and a half square miles so far. they boosted containment from 20 to 50%, which is fantastic news. firefighters lifted mandatory evacuations for all of

the areas that were impacted by the fire at 8:00 last night. and firefighters have almost reached full containment on the curry fire burning at fresno county. these have been some of our most dramatic pictures coming into the newsroom. the fire has burned more than 4 and a half square miles since it first broke out last friday. it's 90% contained, and no structures are threatened this morning, which is great news, at least on that front as well. happening today, a pretrial hearing is set in the trial of the highest ranking police officer charged in the death of freddy gray in baltimore. lieutenant brian rice is charged with manslaughter, assault, reckless endangerment, and misconduct in office. gray suffered a severe spinal injury while in baltimore police custody in 2015, and he died a week later. his death sparked massive protests over the use of police force. jury selection is set for tomorrow. if officer wright chooses a jury trial instead of a bench trial. of the officers already tried,

there have been two acquittal and one mistrial. a body recovered from california's feather river has been identified as a 17- year-old who went missing last week. the body was spotted sunday afternoon in the river near gridl,y, and now there's confirmation it's 17-year-old christopher mcdonald. he went underwater while rafting with friends on wednesday, and never resurfaced. the person who called in the sighting said will saw the body not far from where the teenager went under. rescue teams have been sent out to that area, but they were unsuccessful in finding him until sunday. we're now just one month away from the start of the summer olympics in brazil, and now there are yet more problems there >> it's beenable in to watch this unfold. crime, pollution, unfinished subway systems, the zika virus, all of these just some of the problems that have been plagueing the games in rio. >> now there's a new concern, and it's in the city's

beaches that are popular with tourists. there have been all kinds of warnings going out to not only athletes, but people who want to see the olympics. whether the beach gets you, z,ka gets you or this crime problem they have. the police in rio have been talking about the fact they don't have enough support, they don't have any money, and they're worried they're not -- >> they marched at the terminal, carrying signs. there's the video of them, shouting, chanting, saying the number of police officers killed this year is out of control. violence is on the rise in brazil, and officers say they haven't been paid in months. the government says it's working to normalize the situation; but you know, officers say there's still concern. the government's own statistics shows the number of people killed -- has nearly doubled in the last year. human rights groups say police are not just poorly trained, but trigger happy. over the next month in the brazilian government, they plan to flood rio's tourists zones and venues

francisco. crews rescued a man from the water after a ten-foot sailboat capsized off the coast of rod,o. that was around 3:15 yesterday afternoon. then, about 4:50, the coast guard was notified somebody on a 30-foot sailboat near treasure island was clutching his chest and yelling for help. so they rescued him. then, at 7:00 p.m., a response boat encountered a kayak that had capsized near pier 40, and two people were rescued from the water and taken back to shore. a parolee is behind bars this morning, accused of having a gun at a beach in south lake taho,. police arrested shawn francis wannamaker at state line beach after he pulled out a gun during an argument at a motel 6. that was saturday night. police had been looking for him until they finally did find him on sunday. a witness told them where he was. police say that he tried to run, and hid in a nearby bathroom before they arrested him right there at the beach. now he's being held at el dorado county jail.

on decision 016. president obama will be campaigning with hillary clinton today for the first time in 2016. they're making a joint appearance in charlotte, north carolina. the event was actually first scheduled for last month in wisconsin, but it was rescheduled in the wake of the order the roar attack. president obama officially endorsed clinton several weeks ago, saying, in his estimation, he doesn't think there's ever been anyone so qualified to be president. clinton's campaign believes obama will be able to reach out to some of the voters who flocked to support him back in 2008 and 2012. clinton and president obama were fierce rivals back in ú08 when they were both running for the presidency against each other. the president, though, later asked clinton to serve as his secretary of state during his first term. and donald trump is also going to be campaigning in north carolina today just hours after the clinton event, trump is going to be holding his own event. and today trump will be judged by texas senator bob corker. corker is one of the people thought to be on his short list for a running mate.

the two will meet later this morning in new york before flying to north carolina. and hillary clinton is leading donald trump in the latest presidential poll, though not by much. this was a new "usa today" poll. shows clinton is leading trump by 5 percentage points. now, even though clinton is still leading, it appears her lead is shrinking just a little bit. just two months ago, the very same poll had her 11 points up. the poll also found 61% of voters are worried about the presidential race, while 23% say they are excited. and donald trump is still getting criticized this morning for this tweet that he posted over the holiday week. it takes a swipe at hillary clinton, and shows the six-point star that resembles the jewish star of david on top of a pile of money, and proclaims hillary is the most corrupt candidate ever. well, the antidefamation league says that this is a concern, a six-point star on a pile of cash, and thinks it's really offensive, but trump says no, it

wasn't meant to be -- it's just a star, is what he says. plus they changes it right away when they got the criticism about it. but they say it's still antisemitic. so does hillary clinton. let's bring it back here to the bay area and head to the south bay, where crews there are going to be doing more mosquito fogging. health officials found more mosquitoes with the west nile virus. most people don't show symptoms of west nile. in some of the most serious cases, it can cause death. so they want to get this as fast as they can, get rid of the mosquitoes. 229 people have died since the virus came to california. fifty-three californians died last year. the fogging will start thursday night, go until friday. part of that area was already fogged last month, but more mosquitoes have shown up positive results for west nile. they're going to be back out there again for more bugging. >> look at that closeup.

drizzle at the coast. the high is still in the southwest, providing some clearing effort for our afternoons. now ultimately this guy is going to start to move over the northwest, and it has a little chance to provide showers to northern california. north of us, it looks like for now. we're looking for temperatures to spike upwards. we're going to see the 90s return. here's a look at how temperatures fare. you see the warmup happening. chilly on the east bay shoreline the fog on the move you can see and the marine- cooled air making its way into the valleys after the witching hour, about 2:00 a.m. you can see. here's the clearing that happens. by high noon, looking good over most of the region. it's been compromised to the coast, and then returns in force already by 9:00, spilling over past the golden gate. you can see right into the east bay shoreline. and then, by 1:00, starting to

filter into those valleys. temperatures, we'll start with the south bay, a mix of sun and clouds. 77palo alto. further to the south, we'll see numbers pop in the lower 80s. santa clara 81. coopertino, 83. speaking of the 7 0s, hayward you make it up to 78 in the east bay, although -- 67 richmond, but inland we see the 80s start to pop. now, we did talk about a cooling with that low, that big giant l drops south. maybe 78 for a high. that's in the -- bay. then we warm up. and by tuesday, we may revisit the 90s. robin, how are we doing on traffic? >> doing better. a problem along the coast. it just cleared. north and south near devil's slide back open. it was closed temporarily in both directions to retrieve a car that ran off the

road. you may see lingering activity if you're about to head over. they have everything out of the way, and it's back open. so you don't have to worry about getting around that closure. it's because of maintenance work, and it's going to be replaced by a shuttle. keep that in mind. checking in on the bridges. we still have a lot of slow traffic heading into san francisco. it's crowded at the bay bridge toll plaza. the usual stop and go traffic. it's backed up to west grant. not through the maze. that's a good thing. over at the richmond -- bridge, there's a growing backup here at the toll plaza, mostly in the cash lanes. a great ride across the span into the north bay. the golden gate bridge, maybe you need to get from the north bay to san francisco. it's picking up. no major problems. it is less than 25 minutes from -- over to the san francisco side of the bay. in pretty good shape.
