this the bay area's news station. good morning and welcome to kron4 morning news. thanks for joining us. i want to take a quick look at weather and traffic now and see how things are moving. the bay bridge is pretty fogd in. and the fog will stick around until 10:00. traffic very lightly. the bay bridge toll plaza, this looks good, no problems this morning. but still over cast skies there. as well as the san mateo bridge, no problems to report. will be an easy ride. wrapping things up at the

richmond center. this looks good. taking a look now, this is what your highs will be right around lunchtime. will be another warm day but not as hot as what we've seen during the week. 70s around the bay. 990s inland and 60s around the coast. happening now, we are -- you can expect major delays on bart if you are trying to get over to the pen anyone sul la. bart is making improvements to the tracks. one of the seven closures happening in the upcoming months. we are live at daily city station and will tell us how it impacts your travel plans. >> reporter: you can see buses mind me and that's how bart plans to accommodate the customers who will be impacted by the closure. bart trains will not be running between daily city and glenn park this weekend. this is one of the seven

weekends bart will spend service. it's all to make track reports. bart will be working around the clock to make the changes. it's an he for the to make your ride quieter. we talked to rooirdz to see what they have to say. >> if it means additional people will be loading on to the buses, old people like myself, won't be able to find seats. >> that means uber there and back and i think they should pay me. >> now of course customers don't have to uber, you can take one of the free express shuttles. the ride will be 15 to 20 minutes each way. of course asking you to give yourself extra time. but i'm told these buses will be leaving as soon as they load up. you can come and get a ride to glenn park if you need it. i will be here throughout the

morning to monitor conditions. back to you. >> we'll be checking back all morning long. now happening tomorrow the san francisco marathon will affect traffic in the city. the golden gate bridge and streets in the area will be closed. it will be closed at midnight and stay shut down until 245-time time tomorrow afternoon. runns will take up a few of the lanes. drivers will have two southbound and 1 northbound lane. the bridge returns to normal at around 10:00 on sunday. the starting point winds through the city and then across the bridge and back and then the finish line will be on full some. 20 thousand people speeting in the various races. check out our website for specifics. breaking news three people dead and one injured after a

shooting in washington state. police arrested the spektd shooter. this is video and the scene where the shooting took place. it happened 25 miles north of seattle. police say about 15 to 20 people were at a home when the shooting happened earlier this morning. police have not yet released additional details about the shooting or the shooter we will update as details come in throughout the morning. more breaking news that we are following this morning. this time out of bell gum. two brothers arrested on suspicion of the bloating a terrorist attack according to the bell gum federal prosecutors office. the arrest came after police searched nearly ten homes friday night. they say there is no connection with the terrorist attacks back in march that left 32 dead in brussels. a judge will decide whether the two men should remain in custody later today. a big story we are following this morning a crime

that shocked a san francisco neighborhood. four men killed while sitting in a stolen car. some of the answers are finally coming this morning as sf pd made an arrest connected to the shooting. we are reporting how this moves the case forward. >> reporter: on friday morning a san francisco resident was arrested connected with the deaths. lee far lee was arrested and was already in custody on unrelated charges. he is being held at the county jail in san francisco where he is facing four counts of murder. far lee does have a criminal history which will be a factor in this case. >> i know the suspect is part of a criminal street grang and that charge was added as an enhancement. >> i can at least somewhat rest. i wasn't able to rest.

>> the mother of 19-year old that was killed in the shooting along with three other young men. since that night she's spoken with investigators often and she knew something was about to happen. >> they kept telling me they were getting ready to make an arrest but when it really happened i was like wow, it's true. they did it, you know. they made it happen and so i was thank full for that. >> while she's glad an arrest has been made she does not feel a sense of closure. that might not happen until the suspect faces a trial. on friday she made it very clear what she would like to see happen to her son's alleged killer. >> i say an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. you take mine and i am requesting the death penalty. >> in san francisco i am reporting fob kron news. two people were arrested

following a crime spree spanning several areas. a the chp resulted in an arrest of 16-year old and 23-year old. specific are not relating specific information due to ongoing investigation. these involved two people approaching other people in a white van threatening and demanding their belongings. the two were booked on several charges including robbery and using a firearm. coming up a 14-year old in the east bay who was home alone when someone broke in her house. the way she helped catch the thief is ahead. the grandmother at the woman of the center of the police scandal. hear her message for the chief of the police. the total number of zika cases are rising in the bay area. what the health department is saying about the spreading of the virus is next on kron.

. and for your health, here's a look at some of the new medical findings released this week. in san francisco a total of 8 people tested positive for zika virus and the latest case comes after a week after the health department declared two additional cases of the virus. this month has been the highest number of infections reported. all the people who tested positive contracted the virus while traveling outside the u.s. the virus is not circulating throughout the city and there is no risk to the public lick. still ahead the deadly mont ray county fire is groelg this morning. the firefighters are working to contain the fire in northern california. that is next. taking a peak outside. you can see lots of over cast gray conditions. by noon time though this is all

on the cool side. grab a light jacket if heading out the door any time soon. mostly fichts around the bay and coast. we have some scattered 60s for inland. the massive wildfire is still raging this morning in monterey county. north of big sur. burned nearly 33000 acres so far and 50% contained. nearly 60 homes destroyed and another 2,000 structures are listed as threatened. 1 person died from the fire. and roughly 350 people were evacuated. several orders were lifted yesterday for several counties. teams were deployed to help with the wildfire. in southern california, firefighters are making significant progress against the sand fire. the wildfire burned nearly 39000 acres and is now 85%

contained. over 17 hundred firefighters are working to control the fire. in the south bay a 15-year old girl is dead after this crash in santa clara. it happened on lafayette street. we are reporting from santa clara after speaking with a man who was one of the first to the scene to help. >> a few of us said a prayer because it was well beyond what we could do and we were hoping for a miracle. >> he was one of by-standers when he ran to help when he saw this white truck crash into a pole. it happened about 2:30 in the afternoon. >> there was steam coming off the car but fortunately no sign of fire particularly with several people still stuck inside. >> reporter: the police report six people were inside the white

chevy truck one of which a 15-year old girl died at the scene. >> it does call into question whether they were adequately restrained because the air bags did did he ploy and yet, there was impact damage to their bodies. >> reporter: police say witnesses reported truck to be driving at speed limit. >> there was no smell of alcohol or drugs or even shake keyness other than just concern on the part of the driver who was injured. >> reporter: an investigation is underway as to what caused the deadly crash. screen 4 news in santa clara. in the east bay police are now asking for your help in identifying the man who tried toy kid nap a woman thursday. investigators now released these photos you can see the kid nap per wearing black clothing and

walking towards the get away car. they are talking about the tires hoping someone will recognize the unique rims and report the driver to investigators. in mountain view three people were arrested after police say they broke into a home and attacked a homeowner and forced her into a closet. take a look at the accused attackers. police sat robbery happened on wednesday afternoon. the homeowner called police saying a man hit her in the head with a gun and locked her in a closet. officers tracked the three people down and arrested them in a shopping center. the trio and currently booked in santa clara county jail. a big story we are following in morning out of cast ter valley. frightening moments for a 14-year old girl as she heard someone brake into her home while she was inside. our reporter talked to the teen and sheriff deputies about how

she helped catch a thief. >> reporter: this is the man sheriff deputies say they caught robbing a house. they got the call around 1:30 in the afternoon yesterday. a teen was inside her home on orange avenue and texted her mom when she realized someone was trying to brake in. >> i was scared and he went to the back door through my mom's room and then he kept knocking on the door and then he kept going back and forth knocking on the door. neighbors say there were signs something suspicious were happening but were happy about how quickly the sheriff is were on the scene. >> i was in the living room and my dogs are parking like crazy. i open up the door and all i see 16 sheriff's cars marked and unmarked bear relg down the street and a pack of sheriff deputies just running that way. >> when we got on scene we found the suspect's car in the driveway with the begin running so we immediately turned the kaf off and took the keys so he couldn't escape that way.

welcome back to kron4 news weekend. great weather in store. right now we are seeing a lot of fog. it's actually overlooking the golden gate bridge. we can't make out the town so far as of right now. we see a lot of fog along the coast. around the 7:00 hour you can see it even along the east bay shore line with visibility down to about 3 miles. you can see by 10:00 as we move ahead it is really thing out. that's good news especially along the bay and for inland spots we will see some of the fog stick around the coast this morning. it will mix out as we head into

the afternoon hours and as we see as we progress through the evening and overnight hours it will be heading back. we will have the same story tomorrow morning. a lot of coastal fog will be sticking around at that time as well. temperatures on the chilly side. mostly 50s around the bay area. 54 degrees in san francisco. 58 in hayward. 62 currently in san jose. those are our warm es spots throughout the day. coastal fog right around the bay and inland areas. it's pretty clear out there but along the bay and coast, we are seeing some of that cloud cover. by noon time we will see warm temperatures, lots of sunshine by 3:00 this after. it will be pretty hot especially for inland valley 'locations. lunchtime here's what you can expect: 60s along the coast. mid to upper 70s around the bay. a couple of 80s for the south bay. further in lands every land

a hi wife and two children. he received the purple heart award in 2003 after stabbed bay a man he stopped for speeding. he was one of two gang suppression officers making a stop thursday night when he was shot and killed. the other officer that was shot, a 9-year veteran of the force. he underwent surgery and is expected to survive. and this is video of police taking a man into custody incomes with the shooting. he was arrested on an outstanding warrant and has a lengthy criminal history and now faces murder and attempted murder charges. and another person was also arrested. he was found with a gun shot wound near the scene and remains in critical condition. and san francisco two new measures will make the november ballot that are intended to create police reform. the city board of supervise yorz placed them on the ballot during

now for a story only here on kron had, i scary situation for a san francisco woman. she says a man on a bike followed her, pulled out a knife and stabbed her car tires and she shared with us the video she took of the attack. you can see the bike required pulls up waves and tries to open the car door and then flashes what appears to be a knife in his hand. opens the knife and stabs the car's front tire and takes off. we slowed down the video so you can see this. this happened on monday night in the mission district. she claims she did nothing wrong and when she noticed the bike required followed her she started recording him. after he slammed -- slashd her tires she called 911 and then he came back. >> when i was with 911 he's back again like less than 30 seconds and he starts to stab my window and tries to broke it so then i

start to scream, scream please please 911 he is back and has a knife with them. i am scared to drive. i don't know. i try to really hold on. i cannot any more. >> the woman was so scared she did not want us to show her face or use her name. police did file a report. the woman shared the video with us because the bike required has not been caught yet and she is afraid he could attack another driver. the woman said the bike required had an id badge clipped on and hopes someone will recognize him and help catch him. coming up a little bit later in the broadcast can the giants get rolling. man getting beat up as of late. we have the highlights coming, the a's action as well and the raiders in napa including the great run pass certificate a little bit later in this

welcome back to kron4 news weekend. we are looking at foggy conditions out there. especially along the coast this morning. this is our live picture of the golden gate bridge where you can't make the bridge hours every towers at this point. but things will be mixing out as we head through the early morning hours into the afternoon. fog tracker 4 showing 8 o'clock softens along the coast getting up to san francisco and we're seeing it along the east bay shore line. it is starting to clear out and mix out by 10. some will be sticking around

three people are dead and one is injured after a shooting in washington state. police arrested the suspected shooter and this is video just into kron 4 news out of the scene where the shooting took place. it happened about 25 miles just north of seattle. police say 15 to 20 people were -- people were at a home when it happened this morning. police are not yet released additional details about the shooting or the shooter. but we will have updates and details as they come in throughout the morning. and more breaking news we are following this morning, this time it's out of belgium. two brothers were arrested on suspicion of plotting a tear of the attack. this is according to the belgium federal prosecutor's office. the arrest came after police searched nearly 10 homes on friday night. belgium officials say as of now there's no connection with the terrorists attacks. in march that left 32 people dead at the national airport and metra station in brussels. a belgium judge will decide later today whether the two men should remain in custody.

and a big story we are following this morning, a crime that shocked a san francisco neighborhood. four men killed while sitting in a stolen car. the act of violence leaves the community demanding answers for more than a year. some of the answers are finally coming in this morning as sfpd made an arrest connected to the shooting and charles clifford reports in san francisco with how this moves the case forward. >> reporter: on friday morning office are arrested san francisco resident lee farley in connection with the shootth deaths of four men on the evening -- shooting death of four men on january 9, he was already in custody at federal prison in atwater california on unrelated charges. he is being held at county jail in san francisco where he face four counts of murder. on friday the police didn't wouldn't identify a moat he have but said farley has a criminal history which will be a factor in the case. >> i know the suspect is part of a criminal street gang and that charge was added as

gate bridge lightly traveled at this point. switching over to san mateo bridge where the gray skies continue but the sunshine is on the way. 92 though locks good as far as traffic -- looks good as far as traffic goes. and richmond san rafael bridge more overcast conditions. light backup and a couple pay east but the and is accident free. the highs around lunchtime nice and warm especially in the inland valley areas livermore 94 along the bay it's going to be 70s and 80s and along the coast expect temperatures to remain in the 60s. well the massive wild fire is still raging this morning in monterey county. the fire is just north of big sur and burned nearly 33,000 acres so far. and it's now at 50% containment. nearly 60 homes have been destroyed and another 2,000 structures are listed as threatened. one person has died from the

fire. and roughly 350 people have been evacuated but evacuation orders were lifted yesterday for several counties. the city of san francisco deployed teams from the san francisco fire department and department of emergency management to help with the wild fire. and southern california, californiaer for fighters are making -- firefighters are making significant progress against the sand fire near santa clarita burning nearly 39,000 acres and is 85% contained. over 1700 firefighters are working to control the fire. and in the south bay a 15- year-old girl is dead after this crash in santa clara. it happened on lafayette street and kron 4 reports from santa clara after speaking with the man who was one of the first on the scene to help. >> a few of us said a prayer because it was well beyond what we could do and we were kind of

for a story only here on kron 4 a scarry situation for a san francisco -- scary situation for a stan fran woman who says a man on a bike followed her pulled out a knife and stabbed her car tires and she shared the widow as she took -- video as she took it of the attack. you can see the bike rider pulls up and waves and tries to on the door and flashes what appears to be a knife and opens the knife stabs the car's front tire and takes off. we slowed down the video to show you. the woman says this happened on monday night in the mission district at 20th and mission. she claims she did nothing

would have been riding the trains at this time. look at video we have of the buses getting rade to -- ready to pick up passengers and head to the glen park station. this is one of 7 weekends when bart will suspend service between daly city -- city and glen park to make track repairs. bart says crews will be working around the clock to make changes including sound dampening equipment in an effort to make your ride quieter. we spoke with a bart spokesman about the service suspension. listen to what he says that crews will be fixing. >> we are placing a section of tracks that allows trains to go from one side of the track to the other. we are replacing thousands of feet of rail that is worn down and we are replacing part of thestructure of the trackway that keeps the rail held down. and part of whenever it gets loose it makes a loud screeching noise as a lot of people know and we want to put dampers on the track components to quiet the rails down.

there real quick and traffic is pretty light at the span as well and the gray skies still continue here though but the sunshine is on the way as well as the warm temperatures. and taking a look at highs here you go we are seeing 90s around noontime for our warmest inland locations around the bay we will have 70s and 80s and along the coast it's going to be chilly with temperatures in the low 60s. breaking news at least 16 people are dead after a hot air balloon caught on fire and crashed in central texas. that is according to a local authority and it happened just before 6 this morning just south of austin. local police are working to determine the exact number of deaths and their identities. we will bring you more information on this story as details enter the newsroom. the massive wild fire is still raging through monterey county this morning. the fire is north of big sur and burned nearly 33,000 acres so far. and it's now 15% contained. nearly 6 homes have been

destroyed -- 60 that is and another 2,000 structures are listed as threatened. one person has died from the fire. and roughly 350 people have been evacuated but evacuation orders were lifted yesterday for several counties. the city of san francisco deployed teams from the san francisco fire department and the department of emergency management to help with the wild fire. and in southern california firefighters are making significant progress against the sand fire burning near santa clarita. wild fires burn nearly 39,000 acres and is now at 85% contained. over 1700 firefighters are working to control the fire. in the south bay a 15-year- old girl is dead after the crash in santa clara. it happened on lafayette street north of montague expressway. kron 4 ella sogomonian reports after speaking to a man on the scene first to help. >> a few of us said a prayer
