the 'clayton fire' started in lake county on saturday. and has burned nearly 4-thousand acres. here's the latest on where things stand right now. nearly 25-hundred firefighters are battling the clayton fire. >>alecia: he is under surveillance for years and four year-old was arrested as a result of a traffic stop and take in the custody without incident. the trend with a suspended license the time of possession of methamphetamine.

the reason crews will have to shut down some tracks. hayward police are looking for a suspect in connection to a violent armed robbery where one victim was shot. that crime.happening late last night. but as kron4's maureen kelly reports. it's part of a bloody crime wave that police are calling unprecedented. in 20 years i haven't seen it that busy in a two week period for this agency >> reporter:here's the scene from last night's latest act of violence. the victims.a married couple in their 40's.out walking just before midnight. at the corner of florida street and dolpin way police say the couple were approached by a gun toting suspect demanding their cell phones. they complied gave up their phones and for some reason he shot the male victim right there at the scene. >> reporter:the victim was transported to a local hospital.at last check his condition is unknown.but police say he is out of surgery, concious and talking.which makes this victim one of the lucky ones. because homicides have spiked in the first half of this month. >> will: >>:we've had five homicides in the last 14 days. >> reporter:here's the memorial at the scene of the most recent killing.police say 42 year old jason villegas was stabbed to death while walking back from a neighborhood store on sunday.i wish i had the answer as to why these things are happening.ours appear to be random.there's not a serial killer out there. two of the other murders in august were domestic.and arrests have been made in those. two others are possibly gang related. police say they are boosting patrols in areas known for gang activity. residents near where last night's shooting took place say they are sick of the violence.

anyone with information is asked to call police. a san francisco beach was temporarily shutdown after someone lit two of the beach's portable toilets on fire. the incident happened yesterday afternoon in san francisco's sea cliff neighborhood. at china beach. this is a picture sent in by a kron four viewer. a golden gate national recreational spokesman says the fire caused 30-thousand dollars in damage. the fire quickly spread to a nearby wooden structure. while the main building on the beach had minor heat damage. no injuries were reported. >> vicki:big news tonight. cisco systems is laying off over five-thousand employees. the internet gear maker. which is based out of san jose. making the announcment earlier today. this big shake-up means about seven-percent of cisco's workers will lose their jobs. >> catherine: is not over but about 85 percent of the state's

>> vicki:now at 5:30. massive wildfires burning across california tonight. and one big fire we're following is one out of san bernardino county where the "bluecut fire" is growing out of control. the fire started tuesday and it has already burned 30-thousand acres and fire crews are having a hard time trying to contain the fire. right now, there is *still zero containment. the fire is burning off of interstate-15 near cajon pass. over 82-thousand people have been forced to evacuate the area and nearly 35-thousand homes are threatened.
