ahead. what can we expect? >> looks like a warm weekend. not quiet the heat inland we've had. here's a look at the sfo. we have a touch of fog. not as thick as from yesterday's performance. get what it looks like from this view. getting into some of those inland valleys, a little touch. watching the models going forward, quickly by 9:00 a.m. starting to mix that out. it's a little sluggish downtown in san francisco. didn't see a whole lot of drizzle this morning. on the coast you can expect that upward hours. the numbers don't pop inland. we're only looking at 59 conquer and 61 liver moore. san francisco 67.

a degree or so behind yesterday. zipping up to lake county real quick checking out the winds. we'll see the afternoon winds return. looks like the typical cut type of afternoon and breeze there. they are calm to start. the next eight hours, what we got here, 62 by 8 a.m. by 12:00 we're talking about 80. we'll see some hours scratch 90 degrees. largely more than a story. hopefully traffic stays light. >> a couple of things working out there, dave. nothing that's awful. i'll start off with a quick check live here in san francisco. let's go here to the plaza. no delays. it's clear in the maize. there's an accident wrapping up from westbound. it's at the bottom of the wrap blocking the left lane but not backing up traffic. overall, a good ride into san

francisco. tracking a traffic alert for north bay which is north bound 101, a multicar crash from the 1:00 hour still wrapping up. it's not backing up traffic. i'll keep an eye on it. also tracking an accident here west of the near island bridge. a car ran off the road and into the water. it's been working for a while not backing up traffic. if it starts to impact your ride i'll let you know. meanwhile, checking in on the east bay, looks good. 580 checking in hot spot free. >> all right, robin, thank you. our top story this morning and again, we're following the latest in this. situation where a mother is expressing the death of a situation over her son. he was shot to death.

to this day, no arrest have been made. his murder just -- we set down with the report. >> tina and her niece say they know who shot ragland. they believe california investigators do too. >> having a conversation with him, they say someone who knows him did it. they know. they know >> but they say they're not being taken seriously. >> they feel like this. they said oh, forget it. we finally got him. that's another person off the street we ain't got to worry about him. >> 25-year-old antonio ragland was killed november 10th. he's one of more than two dozen shot and killed on the bay area highways in a year.

they said all the highway shootings are under active investigations and the vast majority of them appear to be gang related. she says her son's case is different. >> my son didn't hang with nobody but his cousins. >> shells her son's murder is a crime of jealousy but says investigators continue to brush her off. >> they said it's like a big case and they don't want to talk about it. >> in the wake of the shootings, surveillance cameras have installed along highway 4 in pittsburgh. 14 cameras are now in place. police can use the cameras to monitor whose driving in and out of the pittsburgh area and identify anyone involved in any other shootings. 4:05 another big story we're following is olympic swimmer like lochte after brazilian

police say he lied about being robbed at a gas station in rio. you can see him walking at the top of the screen with the white collared shirt. lochte and three other american swimmers were not robbed as they claimed. they were the ones making trouble. they were drunk and vandalized a bathroom and a couple other pieces of property claiming they got into it with the security guard. lochte claims that's not the case. >> they pulled out their guns and told us to get down on the ground and i was like we didn't do anything wrong and the guy pulled out his gun anded it and put it to my forehead. police say the athletes paid for the damage and left. one of the swimmers says he'll

have to pay nearly $11,000 in fines today before he can leave brazil. fire officials are allowing more people back in the county to see if anything is left of their homes. fire crews are working to take out any remaining hot spots. -( the fire has burned nearly 3,000-acres. the fire first began saturday south of lower lake. the cause of the fire has been determined to be arson. many people still in evacuation centers this morning. we are shown what it's like to be in one of those shelters. >> they gave me two blankets and a real nice cot. >> frank is one of 30 evacuees staying here. >> it usually takes a couple of days before it sinks in you're stuck and don't know when you're going home.

>> immediately after the fire erupted, the shelter went to 200 something people. the red cross volunteers try their best to make evacuees feel comfortable at a time when there's a lot running on their mind. >> you hear some stories but they, it's also very rewarding. you can tell, you get to serve and help. >> some here have been battling homelessness since last year's fire. >> for every person who comes through, they're gimp a personal care kit.

as for pets, they were left outside until the pet shelter came along with an air conditioned bus. although it isn't home, evacuees are grateful for the research provided. >> the man accused of starting the blaze is damion. he appeared in court wednesday. he's charged with a dozen counts of arson. police say the mote i have still unclear but his trial will continue. breaking news to report to you out of newark, new jersey, two buses have collided causing a horrific scene. you see the pictures here on your screen. one of the buses t-boned the other bus and now on its side 6789 one of the buses appears to have broken in half. some tv stations in new york are reporting one person has died and nine are critically hurt. we'll continue to follow the breaking news story throughout

jersey. two buses involved in a horrific accident. one bus t-boning the other one. you can see the bus hit is bent in half, nearly cut in half. we are getting reports from local media there that possibly one person has been killed an a number of others are in critical condition. last check the number was around nine. unclear what the status is of the driver of the bus that rammed in the side of the other one. looks like the front end is fairly crumbled. we'll have to wait and see what the latest is. emergency responders is on the scene now. hopefully, they'll rescue as many as they can. these pictures coming to us from newark, new jersey and it looks like two commuter buses have collided. right there in the peak of rush hour in new york. we wanted to share that breaking news story update with you while we had the live pictures. let's bring it back to the

bay and get the latest on the weather. >> good morning, james, good morning everybody. live look at the bay bridge. the fog, we've been checking this out all morning. see the gray breaking up with the clouds and the sun coming through. let's check on the weather forecast in terms of fires. first up in lake county. temperatures at about 95. not a major change there. in the winds, still maybe approaching the double digits. humidity has gotten a lot more humid than the last couple of mornings. 40-60%. it looks a little more promising. heading south to the blue cut fire. sunny and hot and 95. winds out of the south 10, 15, 20. that's reduced from yesterday. humidity running from 20% here. very dry. strong, southerly wind too. that will continue through the day. a look at temperatures now.

60 hayward and warmer up towards the east as the future cast tells us. here we have it, the nice warm up with upper 80s. maybe a couple of 90s here and there and then along the east bay shoreline it will be 70s. the peninsula into the 60s and the 50s too. fog returning for late tonight and early tomorrow. mostly sunny for the afternoon. 63 for san francisco after we break up the fog. 62. over to the east bay. the east bay shoreline, put us down for 70 hayward. 87danville. in our 7-day forecast, it stays an 80s story. early into next week we have the chance of a minor heat spike going on as we try to revisit the 90s wednesday. still looking at a friday light. >> i'm tracking a couple of

problems out there. i have an alert and a fatal accident to talk about. first let's do a quick break check. this is live, 92. rolling out of hayward, the problems in the peninsula. the traffic alert is north of the bay. multicar crash blocking one lane. they issued a traffic alert causing a minor tap on the brakes. no problems leaving and out towards the golden gate bridge. i'll definitely keep an eye on it. i'm also tracking a fatal incident westbound 80 west of the bridge. a driver ran off the road and into the water. that vehicles the submerged. it's been going on for a while now. we have emergency crews on scene. right now, nothing blocked. all activity on the shoulder and not backing up traffic. once again, a tap on the brakes heading to and from the scene.

rio. now, according to police, the american swimmers were the troublemakers in this instance. employees say they were drunk and vandalized property at the gas station and they were held there as the manager demanded they pay for the damages. meanwhile, people in and around san francisco are seeing donald trump in a whole new light. this as someone has placed a naked donald trump statue in the district. there is one in the castro district and the city said they will take it down as soon as today. supervisor scott weaner is vowing to save it. the fire continues to rage out of control in california. some progress is being made. it's burned thousands of acres and 22% contained. 80,000 have been evacuated and still not allowed to come back home. here in the bay area, we're tracking the weather. dave looking at that and the weekend forecast. >> good weekend coming up.

taking a little edge off. still summer and august and kids going back to school so we're trying to break this in gently here. a little bit of a better pattern this weekend. today, a lot more 80s happening inland. here's a live shot over the bay bridge. it's starting things off. i want to zip out far from home to show you a flair up. there you saw it there up in the mountains. if you're heading up there, you may have a couple of scattered thunder showers as a possibility. some of the exhaust clouds drift off towards the west a little bit. something worth watching a little bit. going forward to see the fog rolling in. you can see it covering the perimeter of the bay. having trouble getting over the hills it looks like. now as it goes forward for the models, 9 a.m. we see clearing happening on the east shoreline. back to the coast only to return early tomorrow morning. temperatures for us on the board 60 hayward, 59 oakland

i'm tracking a fatal crash that happened shortly before 2:00. west 37 not too far from the bridge. a driver ran off the road. they have a tow truck on scene with a cable trying to retrieve the vehicle. for now, nothing blocked. i'll definitely let you know. our traffic alert in the north cleared. north of nevada and north 101 we have a multicar crash blocking one lane. it only caused a brief delay. now it's out of the way. smooth sailing into and out of nevada. checking in, pretty quiet. no other major problems. no problems out of dublin into fremont. 680 south is a nice ride. the parkway checking in 85-101. a quick 8 minutes. >> robin, thank you. let's head where police are asking for help in the search

of two people, persons of interest that are involved in a deadly collision last week. one was killed struck in the 400 block of the boulevard. investigators say the suspects were driving this 2002nissan maxima. it was found abandoned more than two blocks away. now the search is on for knees two people identified as taylor and come anemic. anyone with information about the men is asked to call p. d. 4:33. let's update you on national head lines. flooding in louisiana. now it's considered the worst u.s. disaster since hurricane sandy. at least 40,000 homes have been destroyed and tens of thousands don't have a place to live. we got a firsthand look at that time destruction. >> from the air the scale of

she was placed on administrative leave and will make her first court appearance next month. >> to the north bay. just after 3:30 yesterday afternoon on east washington street and maria drive, that bus was transported special needs students. one was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. the driver of the pick up truck and her child suffered minor injuries. they were not taken to the hospital though. out of newark, new jersey, two commuter buses have collided. one bus looks like it t-boned the other. we're getting word one of the drivers has died. the presumption is the driver of the bus went head on into the side of the other one which looks to be nearly split in half. a heavy response from medical personnel with multiple people being taken to the hospital. we'll be right back.

today the job reports will be released for california. more on what types of jobs are still in high demand. >> slow down. this bubble just isn't popping. we're announcing the tech jobs in the bay area surpass where they were during the height of the dot com era in 2,000. i caught up with chris over face time. she's the director of the center located in the heart of sunny dale. i talked with her a couple months ago. she told me now tech jobs are booming in the bay area. >> yes, we keep hearing about the big companies laying off people. there's so much demand right now those layed off will get

scooped up. >> they were announcing a lay off and i got calls about them. there's plenty of jobs out there. >> i describe it as a slow slow down. capitalist are not handing out funding as freely as last year. you'll see less tech companies go public this year. overall, no real steer. in this slow down we're entering has not yet effected demand for tech jobs here. recruiters told me these are the fastest growing receptorses in the area. electric vehicles and autonomies vehicles. >> the biggest job we see that's hot right now is anything in java script. it's all about the user experience. it has to do with how it looks, feels. some of the technologies, things like that, mobile

doesn't look terribly bad. looks like more comfortable temperatures heading inland. >> each day we're taking off a couple of degrees and taking off the upper 80s in work here. at least that's good news there. here's a live look for the bay bridge and we'll be showing you a lot this morning as we watch the fog start to break up in the mid-morning hours. let's give you the fire report here. heading up to lake county first. mostly sunny and high temperatures reduced. in the valleys we still get artificially warm at 95. here's the new wrinkle. relative humidity 40-60%. that's better than what we have been seeing. down in the south the news isn't as good. we've got sunny and hot with a south wind 10-15 gusts at 20 and a lot of these valleys goes through and gets channeled. humidity levels around 20%. we'll be breezy and dry air and red flag warning still in effect there. that isn't changed and

problematic. you see that blob. something behind it tomorrow a tropical depression. in the morning it looks well around the city. only along the coast. coverage all the way into the valley. providing a cooling we were talking about. 63 going on at halfway bay. some of the numbers middle 80s to lower 80s. along is the east bay shoreline. still the 70s although 70 going on open.

66 in richmond and 77 hayward. 87 going on for walnut creek and pleasing ton 89. a lot of 80s on the board for the next seven days. a light increase in temperatures for the next few days or so. the coast doesn't change much at all. traffic, robin, how are we doing? >> it's okay out there. not too bad. we want to mention some delays through the south bay now. those of you who take dta to downtown san jose. they're having wiring issues. that's impacting 901 and 902. both substituted by the shuttle. this is going to impact the ride between san antonio and the station. plan ahead for that. checking in on 92, your ride from the bridge not bad at all. still a smooth sailing here. haven't found any trouble spots. so far, a good commute. i amtraking a fatal accident

as early as this october. the approval also gives crews the green light to remove the 13 remaining peers over the next three years. to the south bay where we brought you the story of a pregnant woman who died after a car crash this san jose. now her family needs help. we have the story. >> in this resent photo released by her family, dolce of san jose was pregnant. the 18-year-old was injured in a car crash wednesday morning and later died at valley medical center. her premature baby survived. her injuries didn't seem all that serious at the scene. >> it initially came as a surprise as the officers on scene believed these were minor

injuries >> her aunt has set up a go fund me account for help with the funeral services. the baby's name is christopher and fighting for his life. she worked here at this taco bell. her brother picked her up after her shift and they were headed back to san jose to meet her fiance when her honda civic hit a bmw that had pulled over. the driver of the bmw hong tran was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. >> there are investigators. >tran and the brother were both

hospitalized and treated for moderate injuries. >> taco bell says they're setting donation boxes at six stores in the south bay and will match all donations received. health officials have a new warning about the zika virus. there's concerns it could have a dangerous effect on adults. until now, it was thought to have an impact on pregnant women. in a study on adult mice it shows long term neurological impairment or changes in behavior are possible. the study was conducted in self- stem magazine. at 4:52, breaking news out of newark, new jersey where we're following the latest on this bus crash in the peak commute hours. two commuter buses. you can see one t-boned the

to try and see this gray turn to bright white as we mix out the fog for today. giving us over cast sky conditions. hearing a lot about the fires down south in so kal. the forecast will be sunny and hot. south wind 10 to 15 with all of the gusts at about 20 and humidity levels are quite low. dry winds not good news there. that will continue for today although making progress happening there. and we've been talking about the fire south of us from before. some of the smoke making it's way towards the novrt. east bay and south bay you may have smoke problems going on today. in terms of micrograms per cubic meter in terms of how they measure this. what this meensz where you see the red this is where the greatest concentration is for air quality programs. again concentrations appear to be in the east and south bay for this afternoon. the temperatures as we warmup for today. upper 80s at work. lower 90s may make appearance in the far east bay.
