breaking news out of tureky. at least 50 people have been killed and dozens of others wounded in a suicide bomb attack at a wedding. officials say the bomber was between 12 and 14 years old. here's video from the scene. it happened yesterday in a city near the syrian border. officials say the bride and groom are among those injured. their condition is not critical. turkey's president says the bomber was between 12 and 14 years old. isis is believed to be behind the attack. but has not yetr claimed responsibility. also breaking overnight. >> marty:a wildfire is threatening a popular historical landmark in central california. officials have closed hearst castle because of the chimney fire that is burning dangerously close to the castle. here's video of that fire earlier this week. officials say the chimney fire is about 3 miles away from the castle. currently, officials say the fire has burned nearly 20 thousand acres. it is 35 per-cent contained. fire fighters say a wind shift caused the fire to cross containment lines yesterday afternoon. that prompted an evacuation warning of two communities in the area. the castle has stopped giving

tours because of the heavy smoke. the castle does have a fire management and emergency plan in place to protect the landmark. >> marty:in california news. many families *finally were able to go home after they were forced to evacuate because of the clayton wildfire. that fire is 90 percent contained. it has burned nearly four thousand acres. the fire started last saturday off highway 29 and clayton creek just south of lower lake. investigators say arson is the cause. kron four's spencer blake now shows us how several organizations are helping people get back on their feet. >> :" my friend is helping." >> reporter:helping seems to be the theme in lower lake. while this friend helps lana brandon and her partner rafael figueroa go through their burned-down house, people all over town have been in action since firefighters said it was safe enough to come back. >> :"a lot of people are able to get back into their places. some people are waiting for the smoke to clear off because of health reasons. and some people, because they lost their homes." >> reporter:the red cross has

consolidated its emergency shelter, now only operating at the twin pine casino in middletown. p-g-and-e set up a station for people who have questions about their utilities after the fire. this salvation army center was offering drinks and a whole lot more. the main street fire station has bulk items for families whose food supply was destroyed by smoke. >> :"as people start to look through the ashes they can see just how unpredictable flames can be. this is a home that was just off of main street. it's now completely burned to the ground. but take a look up the hill. that building was untouched." hundreds of athletes will brave the frigid waters of the san francisco bay to compete in the san francisco triathlon. joining us now is kron 4's averi harper who is live from the little marina green as the race is about to kick off averi? >> averi: kron4news-dot-com >> averi: people out here to the supporters of the people of our participating and out the water receded some the kayaks and others support staff but that is on the selling light of this race we're waiting for them to go into the water. we are not sure exactly when they're taking up the area and then they will be doing this one. to swim back to marina green. they will be on a hill moret more than 20 mi., mile bike leg of the race. after all that they will be doing a 6

the two immediately agreed to host it at their house this tuesday. it is part of a three-day fundraising effort for clinton in california. in bay area news. >> marty:earlier this week, an 18 year old mother died in a car accident on her way home from work in san jose. she was 7 months pregnant. her baby surived the crash but was in critical condition. rebecca strom is here now with the latest on that baby's condition. rebecca how is the baby doing today? >> rebecca:marty i've got great news to share with you and everyone else. doctor's at valley medical center have recently upgraded the baby's status from critical to serious. and we now have a picture of the baby. his name is christopher. he was born two months premature. as you mentioned a second ago marty, his mother, dulce capetillo died in a car accident on her way home from work.

>> marty:happening now in the east bay. the search is on for a 16-year- old girl from castro valley who vanished a little over a week ago. kendelle patton was last seen on august 11th in castro valley. police say she is known to often ride bart to visit friends in richmond and san francisco. patton is described as an african-american girl, aound five-foot-nine inches tall, with brown eyes and weighing at 120 pounds. she was last seen wearing a light colored shirt and black jeans. a man is recovering after a brutal attack near an east bay bart station. new this morning. health officials are warning people to avoid eating certain crabs and shellfish from half moon bay and monterey bay. public health issued the warning on friday. they said dangerous levels of a toxin called domoic acid were found in rock crabs and shellfish -- that includes oysters, clams, mussels and scallops. the adivsory covers rock crab caught recreationally or

commercially. however, the warning excludes shellfish sold by dealers who are state-certified. you may remember much of last season's dungeness crab fishing was closed because of domoic acid.

so far no one has reported becoming ill from crabs or shellfish caught in the area. a bay area woman is recovering after she suffered a stroke while hiking in fresno. you are looking at the helicopter video of her rescue. c-h-p officers were able to find the woman after she activated her emergency locator beacon. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to her about the device that she says helped save her live. >> reporter: emergency center at several local search and rescue team. and it looks like an old about and doesn't use phone towers to communicate uses satellite which is more reliable suspected of killing his mother.

>> marty:a big story we are following out of the south bay. a son is suspected of killing his mother in santa clara. police believe he then took his own life. it happened at a home on las palmas drive near santa clara central park on friday. santa clara police believe the 68-year old son shot and killed his 89-year old mother. both bodies were found in the same room. the santa clara county coroner's office will release the names of the two once their family has been notified. in national news. search parties in louisiana are going door to door looking for survivors or people trapped by deadly and historic flooding. this is video of donald trump visiting baton rouge with running mate mike pence on friday. >> marty:president obama is set to visit the city on tuesday to look at the impact of the flooding. rebecca strom what is the latest on the devestation? >> rebecca:at least 13 people died and about 60-thousand homes are damaged after flooding that swept through parts of southern louisiana. also, more than 100-thousand people have registered for federal assistance. authorities are still assessing

damage to homes and that number could change. louisiana's health department says floods have damaged graves, tombs and vaults in least 15 cemeteries. the state is slowly digging itself out from a massive flood that swept through last weekend. and people still cannot go home to see what if anything is left. "i was trying really to see if i could go today to see really what the damage is all. but the water is still there you know, and might not be able to go in today as well you know. in recent weeks people have been filling seats on the vortex for their last ride. the ride was state of the art when it was installed in the 1990's. it is considered the oldest stand-up coaster in the nation. but now they are creating space for a brand new ride. we're less than a month for people to take their last stand on vortex. vortex is the longest continuality operating stand up roller coaster in the united states and we are making room for something better for 2017. anytime you take something out obviously there are going to be people who will remanence, they'll wish you had everything from the past. stand up roller coasters were the rave when it started and it has more than served it's purpose, we're very happy to have had it here a long time but now we're making the transition to a sit down floorless coaster for next year. the new coaster is called the patriot. >> marty:it opens in early 20- 17. the ride takes you 90-feet in the air before dropping into a 360-degree loop at 45 miles-per- hour. coming up on the kron 4 morning news.

>> marty:a fifth grader who spent a great deal of her young life in hospitals wanted to make a difference. so 11-year -old-madelynn niles decided to write a book about her journey in and out of emergency rooms. an old friend of madelynn's father put the family in touch with a publisher who loved her story. a few months later. madelynn was offered a contract to have 'my hospital journey' published. now her family is hoping other kids get the message. madelynn was born prematurely and was missing several ribs. making it hard for her to breathe. she is hoping her book ends up in children's hospitals across the country, letting kids know it is okay to be scared. she is already working on her second book called "the first day of fifth grade, second time around." and take a look at this. it is the latest addition to the

i'm steve nannes reporting. leonardo dicaprio was set to host a hillary clinton fundraiser at his house. but the actor had a scheduling conflict. so he asked his friend justin timberlake and his wife jessica biel to do it. the two immediately agreed to host it at their house this tuesday. it is part of a three-day fundraising effort for clinton in california. in bay area news. earlier this week, an 18 year old mother died in a car accident on her way home from work in san jose. she was 7 months pregnant. her baby surived the crash but was in critical condition. rebecca strom is here now with the latest on that baby's condition.

rebecca how is the baby doing today? marty i've got great news to share with you and everyone else. doctor's at valley medical center have recently upgraded the baby's status from critical to serious. and we now have a picture of the baby. his name is christopher. he was born two months premature. as you mentioned a second ago marty, his mother, dulce capetillo died in a car accident on her way home from work. she was rushed to the hospital and later died during surgery. the family is now trying to raise money for baby christopher's medical bills. this story is gaining a lot of attention on social media as well. we posted the picture of baby christopher to our kron 4 facebook page last night. here is some of your reactions to this this story. amanda n. says i am so happy the baby is improving. >> rebecca:thanks to all those doctors and nurses working around the clock to save him. thanks for everything you do! and a comment from someone who claims to be capetillo's friend, ashley m. says i got to see your baby the other day he is cute and he looks just like you. and crystal p. said so happy! will keep praying for this little miracle.

health officials are warning people to avoid eating certain crabs and shellfish from half moon bay and monterey bay. the california department of public health issued the warning on friday. they said dangerous levels of a toxin called domoic acid were found in rock crabs and shellfish -- that includes oysters, clams, mussels and scallops. the adivsory covers rock crab caught recreationally or commercially. however, the warning excludes shellfish sold by dealers who are state-certified. you may remember much of last season's dungeness crab fishing was closed because of domoic acid. so far no one has reported becoming ill from crabs or shellfish caught in the area. a bay area woman is recovering after she suffered a stroke while hiking in fresno. you are looking at the helicopter video of her rescue. c-h-p officers were able to find the woman after she activated her emergency locator beacon. kron 4's hermela aregawi spoke to her about the device that she says helped save her live. >> : turnout at least saved my life. she realized she is having a stroke and caught on camera. still at something like this of emergency device places like aria i are . at allied-signal phone and

>> marty:in the south bay. it is out with the old and in with the new at california's great america in santa clara. a popular roller coaster is only going to be around through labor day weekend. before a new ride takes its place. in recent weeks people have been filling seats on the vortex for their last ride. the ride was state of the art when it was installed in the 1990's. it is considered the oldest stand-up coaster in the nation. but now they are creating space for a brand new ride. we're less than a month for people to take their last stand on vortex. vortex is the longest continuality operating stand up roller coaster in the united states and we are making room for something better for 2017. anytime you take something out obviously there are going to be people who will remanence, they'll wish you had everything from the past. stand up roller coasters were the rave when it started and it has more than served it's purpose, we're very happy to have had it here a long time but now we're making the transition to a sit down floorless coaster for next year.
