arrested on suspicion of child abuse and domestic violence. the baby went into cardiac arrest on sunday and rushed to valley medical center, where doctors suspected the baby had been abused. sot sgt james jensen/santa clara co sheriffs office >>: during the medical treatment over the next is a so but is taken and they went over 14 fractures including the skull. >> reporter: matthew zabala pleaded no contest and served 7 months in the county jail and 4 years probation in a case back in 2009 involving another daughter who was five years old at the time. sot sgt. james jensen no one answered the door at zabala's residence but his neighbors, many of whom have small children, are saddened by what happened and are praying for the baby and her family.

with the trial starting next month, sierra's dad tells kron 4 news."we will get justice". because after years of delays. we now *when and where the trial will happen. the judge said. the court does not find that there is a reasonable likelihood that garcia-torres. would be unable to receive a fair trial in santa clara county. so it will happen in santa clara county. today's decision comes after three days of testimony last week. his attorney's wanted the trial held outside of the county, but lost. the judge ruling today. that the large size of the county would allow the court to find jurors who have no or little knowledge of the case. and the fact that sierra was a child and a daughter would follow the case wherever it went. >> reporter:sierra was last seen leaving for school in march 2012. her body has never been found. >> vicki:we first told you about today's ruling in the sierra

>> vicki:and happening tonight. friends and family will hold a prayer vigil for missing vallejo teen, pearl pinson. pinson was kidnapped on may 25th while she was on her way to school. a witness saw the 15-year-old being taken away by an armed man on the taylor avenue overpass above interstate 780. the prime suspect in her kidnapping died in a shoot-out with police in santa barbara county. leaving police with few leads as to where pinson is. tonight's prayer vigil will be on the taylor avenue overpass at six. police are asking for your help to identify four suspects who attacked a taxi driver with a taser. it happened back on august second. in san francisco. you're looking at dash cam video from the taxi cab. the cab driver picked up four people at market and mason streets. they first told the driver to take them to third street and then to potrero road hill by texas fire road. that's when the suspect in the front seat tells the driver he didn't have cash. and that he would go inside his house and get the money. the suspect even leaves his phone behind as collateral. but when he returns he tases the driver in the neck. the driver tries to escape, but a second suspect opens the door and continues to attack the driver.

officers explain why this attack is extremely rare. the cab driver managed to run away from the attack and is doing okay. the suspects got away with the drivers backpack , cell phone, and his wallet. a man is recovering in the hospital tonight after a stabbing at the civic center bart station. the stabbing happened just before 10 o'clock last night. bart police officers say they found the man with three stab wounds to his chest. the victim taken to san francisco general where he is in critical condition. trains ran through the station without stopping for several hours last night as investigators interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence. police say.at this time.they are unsure if the stabbing occurred at the station or at a nearby location. chopper nat

>> vicki:a contra costa county air rescue team released some dramatic go pro footage of the airlifting of a hiker who collapsed in the briones regional park back. kron4's maureen kelly talked to members of the crew who were there that day, as well as another hiker who was there and called 9-1-1. >> reporter:here is video of a member of the contra costa county sheriff's office air patrol getting suited up and then being being flown.dangling below the helicopter.to where the injured hiker collapsed.

this all happening last june on a hiking trail in lafayette.johanna jefferies says she saw the man collapse and go into convulsions as she hiked up on the trail.and called 9-1-1 for help. it was really alarming because his eyes were rolled up into his head and i thought he was dying. the air rescue team flew until they rendezvoused with the tactical flight officer and a fire paramedic who had been flown in first to assess the patient's condition.they determined that he was critical and needed to be airlifted out of there. he was unconcious, his skin was
