officers now facing criminal charges. the bulk of those charges are against officers in the oakland police department. here's a list of the men specifically identified by the district attorney today. >> reporter:the most severe charges are of sex with a minor, like the one leveled against officer giovani loverde from oakland. >> reporter:there are prostitution-related charges against some of these officers, too. officers utappa and smith are charged for using criminal justice computer systems without an authorized purpose. officer johnson is charged with failure to report. >> reporter:however, the d-a did say officers utappa and smith contact with guapbut that it happened in contra costa county - outside her jurisdiction. >> reporter:the list goes on outside of oakland -- ricardo perez of the contra costa county sheriff's office faces a charge of sex with a minor, and dan black from livermore police, faces charges dealing with prostitution and lewdness. >> reporter:the d-a says evidence can prove these crimes beyond a reasonable doubt. >> reporter:keep in mind, there are still plenty of other allegations out there

portable classroom when the acura suv crashed through the wall. >> vicki:eight students suffered student was left with moderate injuries after she was pinned in her desk seat. the driver had moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital. drugs or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash. >> grant:fairfield police have arrested a man on drugs and weapons charges after a month long investigation. 33 year old wesley smith is accused of having three illegal handguns and over a pound of meth. worth eight thousand dollars. smith was arrested after police served a warrant at a home on diamond court in fairfield. police expect to make more arrests in the case. >> vicki:in the south bay. five weeks have gone by about the murder of a beloved college professor. >> grant:police still don't have any suspects. but as kron four's rob fladeboe reports now live from san jose, investigators need help tracking down a 'person of interest' in the case. >> grant:what can you tells us about this guy rob?

>> reporter: well, we know very little about him. if they can drive him down or find someone that knows him they possibly could get more information that would develop a new lease. --leads >> reporter:the newly released video from a surveillance camera shows a man walking along the sidewalk outside a the corner of south first and willow street. another camera captures a frontal the man's face as a 3rd angle zooms in as he walks out of frame. police want to talk with him. >>--albert morales/san jose police --it could be something for a could be nothing. the idea is to put that idea out to the public and hopefully they will recognize this person. >> reporter:37-year-old david moglin was robbed about 10 pm on july 28th near the corner of willow and sherman streets and then is thought to have chased the thief east toward willow and first, where he was shot and killed. shortly after his death, a colleague at foothill college, where moglin was a part-time

>> grant:only on four. exclusive video from inside the popular tommy's joynt restaurant in san francisco late sunday night. the man in the white shirt time. >> grant:bruce miller has since been released.after his arrest hours later at a fisherman's wharf hotel. this video comes to us from a listener of "the j-v show" on wild 94-9. you can hear a restaurant employee repeadedly asking miller to leave. police say a few hours later.now early monday morning.miller attacked a 70-year-old man and his 29- year-old son. >> grant:this is surveillance video of miller. walking around with a bloody forehead. today, miller made his first court appearance. kron four's philippe djegal was there. when the now unemployed former 49ers showed up. >>- cameras >> reporter:former san francisco 49ers full-back turned tight end bruce miller appearing in court for the first time since his arrest early monday morning. >>"have you advised your client not to speak? now is not the time." >> reporter:miller was accompanied by his attorney's and two women. the 29-year-old has been charged with seven felonies

and one misdemeanor in connection with an alleged assault of a 70-year-old man and his 29-year-old son visiting from illinois. before entering court, miller issued a brief statement. >>"i'm just not at liberty to talk about it right now.there's an investigation going on. thank you, but i'm just not gonna be making anymore comments." >>"i'm not even kidding -- stop. i'm not kidding, stop. you're trippin." >> reporter:this exclusive video comes from a j-v show on wild 94-point-9 listener who filmed a combative miller late sunday night inside tommy's joynt in san francsico. >> reporter:the witness says miller appeared intoxicated and was asked to leave by a server. >> reporter:three hours later, the district attorney's office says a bloodied miller stumbled into the fisherman's wharf marriott hotel and mistakenly tried to enter someone else's room. >> reporter:in the process, the d-a's office say he assaulted a 70-year-old man and his 29-year-old. district attorney george gascon says a cane was used in the attack. >> "its a major embarassment to us, not only because they were visiting the city and victimized, but also this was a clear case of elder abuse."

>> reporter:in court, the defense asked to postpone the arraignment.the prosecution agreed and the judge approved. the d-a's office asked to increase bail based on the elderly abuse enhancements, but that was denied. based on those enhancements, if the charges are upheld, probation is off the table. >> reporter:the judge also signed off on a criminal protective order, prventing miller from contacting the victims. he is due back in court on november second. in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news. >> vicki:the santa clara police union. is encouraging officers to work the san francisco 49ers home games, this sunday, despite statements about police made by colin kaepernick. the police union held a meeting after several officers said they would no longer work the games. >> vicki:this. because of kaepernick's stance on what he calls racial injustice.and his refusal to stand during the national anthem. >> vicki:now the 70-or so officers who work each game are urged to continue. though the additional work remains optional.
