another big story we are following tonight. police have identified the man who was shot and killed during an argument in berkeley. 19-year old ignacio francis of berkeley was shot after a suspect fired into a group of men and women. it happened last night near the ashby bart station. at the intersection of fairview and adeline streets. just after 7:30. tonight.officers are still searching for the suspect in this case. the shooting is under investigation. >> reporter: the are reports you're in female firefighters back and 15 percent of the want dolls than 662 san francisco

a san francisco firefighter was injured while fighting a fire in the city's bernal heights neighborhood this morning this is the aftermath of the fire on prospect avenue. it happened when a portion of the 3-story victorian home fell on him. the firefighter was taken to san francisco general hospital for treatment. he is expected to be ok. >> britteny: as it approaches

kron four's philippe djegal reports from the hayes valley neighborhood. where the victim was confronted. >> reporter:at around 9-45 thursday night. san francisco police say a 59- year-old woman stood alone, in front of her parked car on hickory street near van ness avenue, when two teenage boys approached, possibly 16 to 18 years-old. officer giselle talkoff says one of the suspects demanded her car keys and pulled out a knife. >>:sot- "the victim being fearful of what could happen and her safety, ended up providing the keys to the suspects." >> reporter:but the thieves were not done. officer talkoff says when the victim pulled her phone out to call 9-11 -- one of the suspects swipped it. >>:sot- "both suspects jumped into the vehicle and two other suspects joined them and they took off on van ness." >> reporter:the victim walked away without injuries. police say the car was eventually ditched in the mission district. the suspects still at large. mike hall frequents the area and says hickory street turns into a dark alley at night, but used to be less traveled. sot- "there's a popular restaurant that's opened up here

in this past year, so theres probably a lot of foot traffic from that." it's unclear where the woman was coming from or going. but based on the shear amount of broken glass from bashed in car windows on the street. it's clearly best to park somewhere else and under lights at night if possible sot- "a lot of times, suspects like to lurk in the dark and then they'll just find their victim and its an easy target that way, so just situational awareness." sot- "city parking, you just really need to pick and choose." in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news. hayward police arersted a man after they say he stole a police patrol car leading officers on a high- speed chase through the city. it all started when hayward police responded to reports of a crash near oaks drive and roxbury lane. one of the drivers involved in that crash, jeffery chambers, was being treated by fire department personnel. that's when officers say he suddenly got up. ran to a nearby police patrol car.jumped in and sped away. chambers then raced through the city before he crashed and rolled the patrol car into a ravine. officers say he was taken into custody with only minor injuries. police say he wasn't on drugs or

"sometimes when babies get treatment they get a little bit scared, so i always ask my mom if i can help them." and that brings us to her backyard, where today dozens of volunteers worked to transform taylor's backyard as a way to say thank you to a little girl helping others. reporter standup: why a backyard? well, as it is right now, because of taylor's treatments she cannot barefoot in her own backyard for risk of fungal infection by replacing the sod back here and re-doing all this she'll be able to run barefoot in her backyard just like any other kid." are you excited for your backyard? and while taylor couldn't stay to watch because of all the dust.her parents continue to be blown away by everything that's happened since this police officer met this little girl.
