and one of those men sustained life threating injuries. the other is expected to be ok. it happened here around 9 last night near precita park in the bernal heights neighborhood. police say the shooting happened following an argument. both victims are in the their 20's. no arrests have been made and there is no information on a suspect. >> marty:we now know the identity of the suspect who police say shot and killed two police officers in palm springs. a third officer was wounded and remains hospitalized. police arrested 26 year old john felix in connection with the shooting. he was arrested just before one this morning. the shooting happened saturday afternoon following a family dispute. police say another suspect is still at large. police identify the slain officers as gil vega and lesley zerebny. vega was a 35 year veteran who was set to retire in december. zerebny leaves behind a 4 month old baby. she had recently returned to the force from maternity leave. >> marty:a five year old is in critical condition and another child is in serious condition

month after that statement was made. now, it has become a homicide. 'miss flo' douglas was unable to recover from multiple bone fractures and internal bleeding - injuries prosecutors say she got from 19-year-old zachary cuen. "it was my grandmother. it could be yours, it could be your mother." douglas had been in an intensive care unit ever since september 12th, when deputies say cuen entered her home and violently beat her multiple times, demanded money, and threatened to kill her.

the attacker took off in the car from douglas's own garage. cuen was arrested just three days later. before douglas died, cuen already faced several charges, including attempted murder, which will now be upgraded. "this is sad. this is horrible. this is the most deplorable act i've ever witnessed in my entire life." cuen hasn't entered a formal plea yet, but is scheduled to appear in court again on november third. he could face life in prison if convicted. but that won't bring back a religious woman the sheriff's office calls 'a community pillar.' "beautiful person, i mean, always smiling at everybody, wavin', ya know - 'how ya doing?' - just a great gal." douglas's family encouraged the suspect to tell the truth, for his own conscience, and for the family. in san jose, spencer blake, kron four news. >> marty:in the east bay. we are now learning more about the man who tried to kidnap five year old boy in emeryville. we first told you about this story yesterday morning. it all happened friday at 53rd street and san pablo avenue. police say eddie fontenette tried not once, but twice to grab the child. fontenette is being charged with attempted kidnapping, child endangerment and a probation violation police say fontenette's attempt to kidnapp the child was foiled by the screaming of the child's relative. >> marty:in the east bay. at least eight families are homeless after a fire burned through an apartment complex in concord. kron4 's lydia pan-ta-zes shows us the damage. >> reporter: as flames grew

the area, and led to some parents pulling their kids from school. the boy confessed on saturday after a police officer contacted him. "creepy clown" threats have been directed towards many schools in the bay area and throughout the country. richmond, san jose and fairfield are just some of the bay area cities that have had clown sightings and or threats in recent weeks. happening now. a teenager is recovering this morning after being stabbed at a school playground in santa rosa. it happened yesterday afternoon at sheppard elementary school on west avenue. witnesses say the victim was skate boarding on the playground when he was confronted by several boys. they then beat and stabbed him numerous times. the attackers ran away before sonoma county sheriff's deputies arrived. the victim has multiple stab wounds in his arm and upper body. take a look at this overturned car in vallejo. the driver was able to walk away from the accident uninjured. it happened early yesterday morning in vallejo. the car flipped on its roof after hitting three large street pilings. firefighters responded to "mare island way" to find the car upside-down with its windows blown out, and the driver freeing himself from the wreckage. the young man refused medical treatment. police are still trying to determine what caused the man to hit the thick posts. >> marty:in decision 20-16. donald trump is losing some critical support ahead of the second presidential debate tonight. this comes after a video surfaced friday where the republican nominee was heard making crude comments about women. we want to warn you--this report contains offensive language you may find disturbing. trump made these remarks in 2005

>> marty:the police shooting of an unarmed man in vermont is ruled justified. that decision set off protests in burlington. this is video from the policeman's body camera moments before he shot a 29-year-old. it happened back on september 16th. the officer thought the wanted man had a gun behind his back as he rushed forward. the man died after being shot seven times. that is when officers learned he was not carrying a gun. the policemen was cleared of any wrong-doing, which sparked demonstrations in the town. a state attorney says its time to look at whether these situations could be handled differently. recovering after multiple shootings in oakland. take a look at where they happened. the first shooting happened around 9:00 friday night on 10th avenue near oakland high school. the victim is currently in the hospital in stable condition. the second shooting happened around 2:00 saturday morning on 19th street. that shooting injured one person, but officers haven't released information about the condition of the victim. police say they aren't sure if these shootings are connected. no arrests have been made. happening now. three people are recovering this morning after a major fire at a home in the sunset disctrict of san francisco. kron four's hermela aregawi reports that nine people are now without a home. >> reporter: describe chaoses' the fire burned. all they tell

almost four weeks after a violent home invasion that left an elderly woman severely beaten, 88-year-old flo douglas has died of her injuries. now, her family is mourning the loss of 'miss flo. kron four's spencer blake explains what her death means for her accused attacker. >> :"this was a heinous crime committed by a heartless individual." the crime is even *more heinous now, almost a month after that statement was made. now, it has become a homicide.

'miss flo' douglas was unable to recover from multiple bone fractures and internal bleeding - injuries prosecutors say she got from 19-year-old zachary cuen. "it was my grandmother. it could be yours, it could be your mother." douglas had been in an intensive care unit ever since september 12th, when deputies say cuen entered her home and violently beat her multiple times, demanded money, and threatened to kill her. the attacker took off in the car from douglas's own garage. cuen was arrested just three days later. before douglas died, cuen already faced several charges, including attempted murder, which will now be upgraded. "this is sad. this is horrible. this is the most deplorable act i've ever witnessed in my entire life." cuen hasn't entered a formal plea yet, but is scheduled to appear in court again on november third. he could face life in prison if convicted. but that won't bring back a religious woman the sheriff's office calls 'a community pillar.' raping a woman near an elementary school in oakland. it happened friday morning on international boulevard -- three blocks from the international community school. the victim was taken to a hospital. police do not have any information on the three attackers. new this morning. a 11-year-old boy confesses to posting threats against salinas elementary school using a photo of a "scary clown." police say the instagram posts threatened schools in the alisal elementary school district. it created widespread fear in the area, and led to some parents pulling their kids from school. the boy confessed on saturday after a police officer contacted him. "creepy clown" threats have been directed towards many schools in the bay area and throughout the country. richmond, san jose and fairfield are just some of the bay area cities that have had clown sightings and or threats in recent weeks.

happening now. a teenager is recovering this morning after being stabbed at a school playground in santa rosa. it happened yesterday afternoon at sheppard elementary school on west avenue. witnesses say the victim was skate boarding on the playground when he was confronted by several boys. they then beat and stabbed him numerous times. the attackers ran away before sonoma county sheriff's deputies arrived. the victim has multiple stab wounds in his arm and upper body. take a look at this overturned car in vallejo. the driver was able to walk away from the accident uninjured. it happened early yesterday morning in vallejo. the car flipped on its roof after hitting three large street pilings. firefighters responded to "mare island way" to find the car upside-down with its windows blown out, and the driver freeing himself from the wreckage. the young man refused medical treatment. police are still trying to determine what caused the man to hit the thick posts. in decision 20-16. >> marty:donald trump is losing some critical support ahead of the second presidential debate tonight. this comes after a video surfaced friday where the republican nominee was heard making crude comments about women. we want to warn you--this report contains offensive language you may find disturbing. trump made these remarks in 2005 while being interviewed for an

the shooting. he was arrested just before one this morning. the shooting happened saturday afternoon following a family dispute. police say another suspect is still at large. police identify the slain officers as gil vega and lesley zerebny. vega was a 35 year veteran who was set to retire in december. zerebny leaves behind a 4 month old baby. she had recently returned to the force from maternity leave. a five year old is in critical condition and another child is in serious condition after a boat capsized near pier 45 in san francisco. here is video of the accident. it happened around 4 yesterday afternoon. in total, officials say 27 adults and 3 children were on board the 34 foot boat. a witness describes what happened. the coast guard says all 30 people on board have been accounted for after the accident. police are investigating to see if any criminal activity occured. happening today. it is the final day of fleet week. yesterday the sights and sounds of the blue angles filled the sky. and more airshows are expected to conclude the week-long celebration.
