san francisco police are trying to identify three men caught on surveillance footage.committing a brazen daylight burglary. nats of ringing first the doorbell rings then.when no one answers.the thieves pry open the door.the first man walks in.as a second hangs back, and a third man waits out in the hall. the first man prowls the home his arm up over his face.apparently assuming video cameras are inside the home.but he must of missed the one that caught this video.because he eventually drops his arm and his face is clearly seen. the other two men enter and get to the business that brought them there. randsacking the place and taking all of the high end items san francisco police department spokesman carlos manfretti says

officers responded to a burglary alarm going off at the el cerrito pet hospital. but once they had arrived.. the suspect had already taken off. taking with him several types of antibiotics. anyone with might recognize this man. is asked to call police. today activists against the dakota access pipeline gathered in civic center plaza. the group marched along market street and blocked a u.s. army corps of engineers building in san francisco this morning. these protestors say the project could pollute drinking water and impact land occupied by the standing rock sioux tribe. "fighting for humanity, we're a great thing to fight for. and bigger than ourselves." more protests are taking place to night in the north bay. demostrations are happening in san rafael, and santa rosa this evening. the company building the nearly 4 billion dollar dakota access pipeline is seeking a federal court's permission to lay pipe under a missouri river reservoir. this would finish the four-state project. the army corps of engineers is working with the standing rock sioux to decide whether to allow the pipeline to cross under lake oahe. the tribe says the pipeline threatens drinking water and cultural sites. approval is still needed from the u.s. district court in washington d.c.

san francisco supervisors are scheduled to vote today on an ordinance that would change air b-n-b rentals in the city. the new rules would cap air bnb and other short-term rentals at 60 days a year. the change would apply to hosts who register their homes with the city from now on. the ordinance would not affect the roughly 17 hundred hosts who have already registered. those opposed to airbnb say the site encourages landlords to take units off the market.contributing to the city's housing shortage.and driving up rent costs. those who use the site say they need the extra income to survive. lyft is shaving its iconic pink mustache.

tonight a bay area teenager is taking home a big honor from the white house. the eighteen year old is one of a handful of students being recognized for turning her passions into a future career. k-r-o-n 4's white house correspondent mark meredith has the story from washington. for some kids - after school is all about the chance to watch t- v. then there are kids like 18 year nicole rivera - a bay area student - who's not just watching t-v but creating it herself. nat: " you make this job worth doing" a champion of children. first lady michelle obama knows a bright future when she sees one. "these kids represent the very best of america" among the people mrs obama is talking about - 18 year old san franscisco student nicole rivera. for the last three years - the bay area teen has expanded her

it is a picture we have become all too familiar with in the bay area since the election. students walking out of class in protest. but now we are seeing a change in tone. good evening. i'm steve aveson. and i'm pam moore. hundreds of students all over the bay area once again left their classrooms today. this is the first time though they did not build them up as anti-trump demonstrations. kron 4's rob fladeboe tells us the bigger message a group in palo alto wants to deliver. students from three san mateo area high schools walked out today as well. hundreds of them gathered at central park. they say, this was not an anti- trump rally. but instead a peaceful movement aimed at empowering students. and as the anti- trump protests continue. some members of the faith community -- are calling on the nation to embrace 'unity'. >> reporter: as set assimilates.

djegal spoke with a local pastor who says, he hopes trump will be successful and so should the rest of us. senior pastor kirkland smith says members of his church. grace bible fellowship of anitoch are troubled over the presidential election, and even more so over some of the people filling out the new cabinet. pastor smith has also paid close attention to the anti-trump protests and rallies spreading across the bay area and the nation. but says at some point, the people will need to rally around the president-elect.

sot- "a man of faith, i'm going to be optimistic, um. and never pessamistic, so, yes, i do think in time, change will come. i think change is coming, but i think sometimes, it's a great fight for change and i think all of the changes, or the vast majority of the changes we've seen in this nation, they come with fights, um, they've come with battles, they've come with wars, um, they've come with transitions of offices, and i think as a nation, thats what we're going through -- we're going through a transition." pastor smith says civil discourse is postive. and, is natural after such a hard fought campaign. but says as people continue to protest. he hopes they listen to president obama's message of unity as he leaves office. sot- "you don't have to agree with president obama's stances, but you definitely should admire the way he's embraced president- elect trump." as the nation heals. pastor smith says he will continue to discuss the election with his congregation. with the message shifting away from fear and anger, to hope. sot- "i believe that through his tenure in office, we believe its

as we head into tomorrow temperatures stay in the low 60s daytime highs raleigh thursday morning. and a bad apaches followed other locations and close to mid 40's. the we track this next system all the details on the train we can expect to see and in the next forecast of about 10 minutes. this might not look like much at first glance. three men casually walking around a home. but what you are actually seeing is a brazen burglary. where the crooks made off with tens of thousands of dollars in items. san francisco police are releasing the surveillance video of the incident, hoping someone will recognize the suspects. so they can be arrested before they strike again. kron4's maureen kelly talked to police who say, these are not your average thieves. this video from inside the unit on the block of channel street shows the men enter the unit.slowly. they had first rang the bell to make sure no one was home before prying open the door. this happened last month. just after 330 on a monday afternoon. police point out one thing that sets these three apart from other burglars. they are well dressed people that you would walk down the street and not pay a second notice too police don't think that means they are novice criminals.saying their nice clothes will make them blend as they make their escape.

costa and solano in concord "almost 40% of the food banks donations come in during the holiday season" the food bank's communications director lisa sherrill says even though the some sectors of the economy has improved.there are still families in need out there "the food bank is still serving 1 in 8 people in contra costa and solano counties, the need has not decreased since the recession has been over, we are still serving as we were two years ago" she says the biggest difference between then and now are people working and still needing help "there are still so many people in need, i've talked to clients at distributions who are working but not making enough to make ends meet, so they turn to the food bank to help stretch their food budgets" the food bank of contra costa and solano are awlays looking for volunteers. these folks lending a hand are from macy's department store in antioch "you know it's the holidays and
