the afternoon, the windspeed will pick up with a chance of flash flooding. just want to stay alert. mostly sunny skies expected that is one the sierra will see the transition into snow. we have quiet conditions and a few little scattered showers expected into the rest of tonight. all the action really starts tomorrow morning mainly for parts of the north bay and by 8 a.m. heavy downpours. looks person like parts of the south bay will take a while. but futurecast showing by the time everyone had some from work, we will be dealing with heavy downpours and windy conditions. that will not subside until thursday night. then will will see most of the rain pushing away as we go after 10:00 or 11:00 in the

evening. the first thing to point out is the flash flood watch in effect for the santa cruz mountains. we expect really heavy rainfall with three fourths of an inch per hour. that is a lot of rain coming down. all of the areas highlighted in yellow are under high wind watch. we will watch them sustained between 25 and 35 miles-per- hour. we could see anywhere between 35 and 50 miles-per-hour. coming up, we will take a closer look at your rainfall totals and seven-day forecast. >> thank you, brittney . the annual holiday fire safety demonstration happened with hundreds attending this free event located at the structural collapse center. it was a live fire simulation. fire officials are encouraging people to keep trees healthy and hydrated.
