role in "la la land," reynolds for "deadpool." >> i'm going to make a prediction and say ryan reynolds comes out on top. deadpool had a wide release and a lot of eyes were on it not to mention the viral marketing campaign and the fact reynolds has been pounding the pavement at various screenings and q and a. >> still "la la land" is the front-runner with seven nominations including one for star emma stone. >> she's racked up scotch attention for this role and rightfully so. but of course she's up against meryl streep. meryl is a golden globes darling having won eight and really poses a threat to emma. >> i'm taking it one day at a time. >> natalie portman is a clear front-runner to win best actress in a drama. in "jackie" the entire film is his and she chews up every scene she's given. >> jack, i love you, jack. >> the front-runners are between

two indy darlings, "moonlight" and "manchester by the sea." i've seen both and both made me cry but i think manchester has the edge. >> one factor, producer matt damon. the golden globes winner has been personally promoting the film. >> i'll be abling to say to my kids when they're older, when i had any bit of leverage in this town i helped to get this made. >> as for tv et online's leanne nah aguilera has one major prediction. >> i cannot stress this enough. "american crime story: the people versus o.j. simpson" is going to dominate the golden globes. we saw that it swept the emmys-k and there's going to be no difference this year at the globes. >> especially sarah paulson. she played marcia clark and is almost a sure thing to win best performance by an actress in a limited series or a motion picture made for television. >> i read so much about her and i watched so much footage. >> next category to watch television series drama. some huge shows in the running. "this is us." "west world." "stranger things," "game of

thrones," and "the crown." >> with all the amazing new shows in this category i've got to say it's a tossup between "the crown" and "west-world." "stranger things" is phenomenal and it was definitely the water cooler show of the year, but i don't think it's enough to take out "westworld." that is of course an hbo mega hit. everyone was talking about it. and of course if "this is us" were to win it would be a huge upset as a network show has not won a golden globe for best drama since 2006 and that was "grey's anatomy." >> and finally, a familiar face from the movies could win for best performance by an actor in a television series drama. >> i'm actually doing this again. so get ready for it, will you? >> in this category i think it's going to go to billy bob thornton for "goliath." he's an unconventional pick. and of course the hollywood foreign press loves to give trophies to those a-lister stars who have moved from the big screen to the small screen. >> it really is going to be a special night on sunday. but the first awards show of

2017 happens tonight. mary hart will host the palm springs international film festival for the 14th time. tom hanks will be honored. so will amy adams and emma stone. so many big stars. we'll have that for you tomorrow. but right now let's talk about the big reality show returning to tv tonight. "celebrity apprentice." if the past stars thought they had it rough getting fired by donald trump, just wait until these new ones get terminated. >> that was like oh! >> of the eight women competing on the new "celebrity apprentice," six of them are moms. >> in here you call me governor. >> it was terrifying. the whole experience was terrifying. the boardroom was terrifying. it honestly kind of made me depressed at some point. i looked sad. and in the back of my head i'm like oh, my god, i miss my kids. >> action! >> 16 contestants compete on behalf of the charity of their choice. for some like carnie wilson
