. good morning, everybody. here's a quick live look at storm tracker 4 where the radar is, well, exploding with color. this is what we were expecting, right? this is storm number two of three that we will be encounter by monday. so today is the day that the heavy rain starts to hit, and it really is, i guess the morning hours. that radar looks impressive. we have rebecca to break down the forecast to see what to expect. >> we've seen some really windy conditions this morning. especially coming in from san francisco and the bay bridge. >> two hands on the wheel. >> so make sure you are careful as you make your way out the door this morning. a high wind advisory is issued

toer that span getting into san francisco. we're seeing wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour right now. storm tracker 4 you can see where the rain is currently. look at this heavy line. this is -- i'll time that out for us in our next report. you can see lots of yellow, orange, even some red on the screen. those areas indicating very heavy rainfall right now. lots of it in the east bay, from concord all the way to dublin. the commute is going to be very wet getting to that dublin interchange this morning. parts of the south bay also getting a soaking in downtown. you can see san francisco now really getting hit hard, especially along the peninsula sfo, san mateo, all of those areas, we are seeing very heavy rainfall this morning. now here's what you can expect as we head through the morning hours. 6:00 you can see we're still going to have some very heavy rainfall, especially in the fremont area, san jose as well. by 8:00, you can see another wave of this heavy rain coming

to us. it's going to be san francisco, san mateo, really most of the peninsula is going to be covered by this rainfall. we're going to get a little bit of a break, though, for folks in fremont and for san jose. but it's going to be pretty consistent, though, throughout most of the morning. by 9:45, you can see more of that heavy rainfall coming to us through san francisco. even parts of the north bay. most of it already heading out towards the brentwood area, getting into the valley. you can see even by noon, we're still going to have the scattered showers with patches of it being very heavy. it's going to be lightened up, though, once we get past the morning commute. but again, we are going to see it heavy at times throughout the entire day. just be aware of that. live camera right now. golden gate bridge, you can see the deck is wet here. we've got raindrops on the screen. very slippery conditions on 101 getting into and out of san francisco. high wind warning also for the bay area today. from noon until midnight tonight. that's where we'll see the wind gusts kick up from 40 to

50 miles per hour. downed trees, lots of debris on the roads. so be careful out there. let's see how the roads are moving this early morning hour with robin. >> thank you. well, i haven't found any big hotspots. but definitely wet and slippery around the bay area. so watch your speed this morning. here's a live look at the bay bridge plaza. it looks like that camera just froze. i apologize about that. but no major trouble spots for 80 west heading into san francisco. overall, it's a pretty good commute. coming up, we'll take a look at the maps since the cameras aren't operating this morning. i'll have a complete traffic check coming up in a few minutes. now to our top story this morning. one of hallmark's of american democracy will be on display in washington, d.c. the peaceful transition of power. donald trump will be sworn in as the 45th president of the united states and scott mcclean is on capitol hill now with a preview of what we can expect. good morning, scott. >> reporter: president-elect donald trump arrived in washington in a u.s. military

jet and went straight to his new property on pennsylvania avenue, the trump hotel. >> we've had such great, great support in this room. >> reporter: trump changed his incoming cabinet an off-the-can you have speech. for his inauguration, he's going mostly by the book. in the afternoon, trump and also-elect mike pence laid a wreath at the arlington national cemetery. >> there's never been a movement like this, and it's something very, very special. >> reporter: trump later dined with mike pence, along with donors inside washington's union station. >> we're going to have four incredible years. >> reporter: but trump's inauguration also comes with controversy. >> not my president. >> reporter: protests are planned across the city, and more than 50 democratic members of congress are boycotting the event to send a message.

prepared for what's next. >> put the sandbags and try to put stuff up. >> reporter: there is one common thread along san anselmo avenue, sandbags. >> once in a while you have to have the worry. >> reporter: the nearby creek overflowed during last week's storm, flooding the downtown area. >> it did flood the street, did it a couple of stores got it this time, but that's it. that's a lot better than several years ago when the whole town got it. >> reporter: he clearly recalls the storms in 1982 and 2005. both completely dedestroyed his family's store. >> it was about five feet of water in the store. and then i lost all my equipment. >> reporter: posters from the storm 35 years ago still hang in the shop. >> some families were canoeing down the street. they had water up to about six feet. and the store was closed for over a year.

>> reporter: he and many others in the town are hoping the next round of storms won't leave too much damage behind. >> i think we'll get through it. >> reporter: shop owners are being optimistic. they're hoping there will be no more flooding for the rest of the year. reporting in san anselmo, alicia reid, kron4 news. well contra costa county has declared a state of merge all because of recent damage from storms. a sinkhole opened up. it will take, they say, almost a year to repair that hole right along hamburg valley road. next week the county administrator will present it to the board of superiors so they can ratified it -- ratify it. well all the bad weather has caused an uptick in car accidents. one bay area body shop has seen triple the cars involved in bad crashes since the first storm rolled in this season. we are in san francisco now with more on the story. >> reporter: business is booming at the body in south san

francisco to the point they're having to turn customers away. >> the shop now is, like, triple we don't have parking available right now. >> reporter: you can see for yourself, this body shop alone is operating at max capacity as they've seen triple the amount of cars come through. not only that, they're also seeing more serious damage since the heavy downpour. >> some are reaching point of total loss where they're not repairable at all by the insurance company. >> reporter: jean says a spike in wrecked cars is directly related to the weather. drivers aren't slowing down or giving enough room up ahead until it's too late. >> they do see a lot of reckless drivers, and i get concerned that they are willing to drive that fast, knowing that those are the most common times when you more than likely could get into an accident. >> reporter: california highway report it's best to let go of the gas pedal instead of slamming the brakes. >> nal instinct is to brake. reporter: the california office of traffic safety advises to replace old windshield blades,

. we are tracking the storm. that's our big story this morning. heavy rain moving across the way area. the inauguration also another big story which we will cover in a bit. but let's get to the forecast. we have rebecca to walk us through what to expect. >> lots of rain, james. that's really the big story. we're seeing it pounding parts of the bay area right now. looking on the radar, you can see the yellow, orange, red, look at that line of heavy rain. it just passed through san francisco, but it's still hitting parts of the panel, sfo. you can see it's affecting there. san mateo. that's where we're really seeing it the heaviest. it's on its way east over to the east bay right now. we are seeing a very heavy rainfall. if you're going to be taking the bay bridge getting into san francisco, heavy rain right now and also very high winds. high wind advisory has been issued for the span. so be very careful out there. parts of concord, even into aren da, highway 24, that's going to

be a very slick ride for you this morning because the rainfall very heavy in that part of the bay area right now. also parts of fremont getting down towards san jose. this rainfall is going to be sticking with us through most of the morning commute. it will lighten up once we get into the 10:00, 11:00 hour, but we are going to see consistent showers throughout the entire day. this is how much rainfall we are expecting over the next 24 hours, almost an inch and a half for the north bay and santa rosa. about an inch and quarter for in a have a dough. for most of the east bay, even the south bay, and also san francisco coming in just over an inch expected, just within 24 hours. we just lost our live camera shot there. but definitely wet at the golden gate bridge, so if you are coming out of the north bay, if that is your commute, just be very careful because it is heavily raining and the roads

very slick. high wind advisory. this is scheduled from noon until midnight tonight. we're going to see anywhere from 20 to 35 miles an hour of winds in the valley. gusts kicking up to about 50-mile-per-hour mark. so again, be on the lookout for downed trees, debris on the roads. it's going to be dangerous out there today. of course, possible power outages. these are current wind speeds. it's already kicking up in san francisco. 23 miles an hour there. that's why that high wind advisory is in effect for the bay bridge and at 32-mile-per-hour winds for half moon bay, really kicking up there. we're almost at 30 in oakland. look at this just updated. 38 miles per hour winds for san francisco right now. 16 if you are in the north bay. and napa, we're looking at 21 along the east bay shoreline for hey wood. flooding very likely. a high surf warning, from noon to 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. of course, the kin tide and runoff may cause some flooding along the coast. so parking lots, you might see some sea water on the roads as

well. so if you can avoid the coast, definitely do so today and tomorrow until tomorrow afternoon. the next three days, you could see we are going to go into the weekend. it's going to be very rainy, that's when storm number three, we are expecting it late saturday night into sunday. so expect those high winds and those heavy rains to be with us pretty much all sunday as well. look at the temperatures are pretty much about the same we're anywhere from the low to mid-50s and overnight lows are going to be in the 40s. let's see you -- let's see how the roads are doing and get a check with robben. >> it's definitely wet out there and slippery. so watch your speed. make sure you are using extra caution this morning if you're driving in the wet weather. let's help to walnut creek and take a look at our camera at 680. this is showing traffic here in both directions, north and south into and out of walnut creek. it's smooth and quiet with no major trouble spots. you know it's not going to stay that way. 6801 of your slowest commutes during the morning. so try to get out there as early

as possible. the bay bridge leading into san francisco under a high wind advisory, but traffic is moving well. it's 11 minutes from the bottom of the maze over to the skyway. just make sure you're using extra caution on the bay bridge this morning. to the east bay, you're looking pretty good on 580 out of livermore into dublin. no major problems for the anymore et cetera freeway. and the san mateo bridge also looking good so far. across the bridge and out to 101, making that connection into san ma deo it's going -- san mateo it's going to be a quick 14 minutes. there's an accident in the south bay. it's north 101. it looks minor. one lean blocked. no major delays getting through. as i zoom out, you can see traffic is at the limits to sunnyvale. 280 looks great. back to the news now. james. >> thank you. we are just hours away before donald trump will be sworn in as america's next

president. he's already at the nation's capital. in fact, he arrived there with his family yesterday. during the afternoon. and we've already -- he's already taken part in a handful of festivities. we have a reporter in d.c. with a look at how donald trump is preparing to become the 45th president. >> reporter: president-elect donald trump and members of the soon to be first family touched down at andrews air force base today, kicking off inauguration weekend. trump attending a lunch with some of his cabinet picks, supporters and donors at his new d.c. hotel. >> i want to thank everybody. we've had such great, great support. >> reporter: the -- before placing a wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier, vice president-elect mike pence at his side. and speaking at a welcome celebration and concert on the national mall. >> i look so forward to tomorrow. we're going to see something that is going to be so amazing. >> reporter: in less than 24 hours, trump will foe residentially become the 45th

president of the united states, sworn in by chief justice roberts on abraham lincoln's bible as well as a bible given to him by his late mother and delivering a self-written speech, his first remarks as president. giving a preview of that speech tonight. >> we're going to unify our country. >> i'm proud. >> reporter: the transition has been far from seemless. the cabinet roster of nominees is complete but none have been confirmed. still many staffers will be on the job right away. >> we're ready to go at 12:01 tomorrow. >> we have 536 team members that will be reporting for duty at agencies following the inauguration, bright and early on monday morning. >> reporter: in washington, i'm kristin holmes. and this morning you will likely see more traffic around the golden gate bridge. organizers are holding a free speech event. kron4 explains the reasoning behind the gathering. >> reporter: starting at 10:00

in the morning, you will see people lined all along the walkways of this iconic bridge, hand in hand. two college friends and coworkers will be the help of 150 volunteers put together the event and they say it is not intended to be a protest to trump's presidency. the message organizers say is unity and togetherness. >> it's intentionally not a protest. we're not in conflict. we're not in confrontation. it's a reaction to all the hate and rhetoric that has been thrown at us. >> our intention was to have something for anyone to look forward to on another -- otherwise possibly dark day for some. a place where we can start bridging together and working together and moving forward. >> reporter: organizers say about 4,000 people have signed up for the event called bridge together golden gate. but you don't have to register ter to -- register to take part.

from 10:00 to noon people from across the bay area will line the iconic bridge holding hands. >> both of us are parents and really for our kids, it became critical to show them that coming together in peace and love inclusivity and acceptance of others is really what we want to model. >> reporter: city officials say the 101 and roads leading to the bridge are likely to be congested but people we talked to say it's worth it. >> i think the freedom to organize, you know, that's something that i think is lost over the years. and being able to convey that in a positive message, even -- >> reporter: city officials say if turnout is expected as far as they know, it would be the first verified human chain across the entire bridge. city officials tell us at least one of the parking lots here at the golden gate bridge welcome center will be closed to private

vehicles tomorrow. that means unless you're on a public bus or some ride-sharing vehicle, you will not be able to enter the lot. reporting in san francisco, kron4 news. and here's a quick look at few of the events scheduled tore today. a rally starts at account in -- 9:00. that's where people will mark to california street. then at 11:00 a rally and march will begin in san jose. people will finish up at city hall. the biggest crowds will be saturday to coincides with the women's march in washington. locally there will be rallies at 10:00 at both oakland's madison park and at 3:00 p.m. in san francisco's civic center plaza. i know there are a number of other communities that will be holding marches as well. well not all of the events in -- are protests, though. in fact, the san francisco log cabben republicans will be have a potluck dinner. they are hosting a inaugural

. good morning. and we are tracking the storm here on the kron4 morning news. we have heavy rain moving through, what looks like the majority in east bay right now with some stretching down to the lower peninsula as well. we'll have scattered showers for the rest of the day. the heaviest of the rain falling in the morning hours and scattered showers the rest of the afternoon. we have a more detailed look at the forecast in just a bit. on to some news this morning. let's head to the south bay where a group of dogs have been rescued thanks to someone with the animal services. officer riley responded to reports of dog dumping in the east san jose foothills while it was pouring with rain. when she arrived, she found seven puppies. they appeared to be sick and cold and completely terrified. officer riley had to use her lunch to lure them to safety.

those pups were all found with mainth. they were quickly treated, though by a veterinarian. well, frightening video of a violent home invasion that happened last month. four armed masked men stormed into a home and this happened in the cameron hills neighborhood in fremont. take a look at the video. four men spent at least an hour inside of that house ransacking the house and terrorizing the homeowners. this was on december 8th. they took money and other volumables. -- valuables. several detectives have been assigned to this case. they are working with other agencies with similar cases to see if there are any connections. if you think you may know who the robbers are, call fremont police and help them out. our big story this morning on the national scene, we've got the inauguration today of donald trump as our 45th president. and here's a live shot of the stands there on the capitol steps where we're expected to see a lot of the inauguration activities really get underway at 8:30 with the swearing in of

leave as early as possible. you never know what's going to pop up in the wet weather. we always have an increase in the number of accidents when we have rain moving through and the roads are very slick. so here's a look at the richmond bridge. 3580 westbound, no major trouble spots. it's a nice ride from 80 connecting on to 580. no problems for highway 101. just in case you use the bay bridge to get into san francisco, keep in mind that it's under a high wind advisory. so if you're on a motorcycle or driving any sort of high profile vehicle, you need to slow down and don't get the -- don't forget the headlights and wipers. we'll check out the south bay. i'll check on the san mateo bridge as well. we'll head back to the desk now. let's get on with the news this morning. as we continue to follow the latest out there this morning, we have, of course, the inauguration, that's the big national story. all eyes on d.c. we're just a few hours away right now from donald trump taking the oath of office and becoming the nation's 45th

president. now today's transition marks a moment in american history. bill air businessman, not a politician will become the nation's ceo, commander-in-chief. we are in d.c. with a closer look of what we can expect today. >> reporter: we're in washington. . the sun just coming up. we are seeing marine one just landing on the capitol. that's the helicopter that takes president obama after he leaves office to joint base andrews. he will be heading to california later today. all the attention will be on the incoming president. the stage is set, security is tight and in a few hours, donald trump will become america's 45th president. arriving in d.c. on thursday, trump is wasting no time making himself at home. by late today, congress and the

new administration will be moving fast to roll back 80 years of president obama's executive orders and legacy policies. but some democrats tell us they hope trump offers up an agenda open to all americans. >> that he stands up and says, i understand 55% of the public voted against me, but i'm their president, i want to work with them. >> reporter: but today's not all about work. mr. trump will enjoy front row seats to a parade in his honor. several balls all across town, and of course the unique experience of walking into the white house as a resident for the first time. it will be an experience the vice president-elect says won't soon be forgotten. >> we are all ready to go to work. in fact, we can't wait to get to work for the american people to make america great again. >> reporter: already, i can tell you that the president-elect just tweeting saying, quote, it all begins today. i'll see you at 11:00 for the swearing-in. the movement continues. the work begins. so the president-elect putting that message out that he is ready to get to work within the next couple of hours.

we're simply about four hours away now from that swearing in. james. >> all right. thank you very much, mark. of course we'll have continuing coverage today on the inauguration. we're also following the latest with the storms too that have been impacting the bay area. the second of three major storms hitting today, this morning, the third still for the weekend. but for more on today's rain, we want to will tran, he's tracking it and i see the hood is up, will. >> reporter: the hood was down for about five minutes. it stopped and now it's raining again. but it's nothing, james, to what we saw about 25 minutes ago. we'll show you the puddling. this is exactly where what you will see all morning. i left fremont to get to this location and usually i drive with one hand on the wheel, today, i promise, i put two hands on the wheel, white knuckled it all the way to san rafael. especially when i got to the richmond san rafael bridge. it was so windy, there is puddling up and down the richmond san rafael bridge, so

badly this a car, a big blankety blank who the car passed me so quickly, you should not even drive the speed limit. but a car parsed me so quickly, that it sent a big wave right to my windshield. for about three seconds, even though he was going as fast as it could, i could not see. don't believe me, let me bring in -- we drive separate vehicles to get to the same location. she crossed the ridge monde san rafael bridge, she has her story. so what happened to you? >> same thing. i'm driving one of the big vans, so it's, you know, sitting up high. same thing approaching this big rig, and right as it comes next to me, it's like a big wave of water, just, you flow, covered my -- it's like going through a car wash. you know how you can't see anything, that's how it was for me while driving. i just had a really to take my foot off the gas and just let it slow down and just try to stay straight. >> reporter: don't you agree that the storms we saw a couple of weeks ago, nothing compared to what we saw this morning? >> no e0 -- oh, no.

we got hit by a really strong cell. you know, for everybody who is driving out there, just slow it down, because the wind is really bad right now. >> absolutely. so we'll move to another location in san rafael, just take it easy. if there is any day to telecommute, today is the day. the bridges, i would imagine, not just the richmond san rafael bridge, but all bridges will be white knuckling across. i literally could not see. she said it best. it felt lying -- it felt like going through a car wash. thankfully i knew there was not a car in front of me or not a car next to me. so i took my foot off the gas and coasted and prayed my windshield would clear up. and it did. but it took three to four seconds. >> pretty scary stuff out there. here's a live look at the radar and rebecca to walk us through where the heaviest rain is falling and where it's going next. >> yeah, we are definitely seeing it. where will was in the north bay and we're seeing very heavy rainfall right now through the

peninsula and also getting towards. it's moving over towards the south bay. look at east bay, though, it really covered the second portion of the east bay. anywhere from hey wood down to fremont, union city getting a soaking. your livermore valley commutes through the dublin interchange that's going to be very well here. that's where some of the heaviest rainfall is. it's going to continue on 680. so be very careful this morning as we take a closer look. you can just see what i'm talking about. the freeway, that's going to be very heavy as well. we're also seeing wind speeds kicking up right now across the bay area. it's a little bit leitner san jose and. you can see it's still very consistent rain, though, the but the heaviest is moving towards the east peninsula though. look at the bottom half of that really getting a soaking. all the way down to pal low alto. that's going to be a very slick ride for you this morning. and also through halfman bay. look at the north bay, we're seeing the coast getting a little bit of a break but most

of it covered from -- down to mill valley across the golden gate bridge and into san francisco. these are your rain totals we are expecting over the next 24 hours. we're going to get 1.30. we're at 1.25 for napa. an inch for most parts of the east bay. just over an inch there. and even into the south bay and along peninsula we're looking at just about an inch for half moon bay. san francisco also coming in at over an inch. the next couple of days, of the rain is going to continue very heavy, though, into saturday night into sunday because that's when storm number three is going to becoming to us. so again, those winds are going to be really kicking up your entire weekend. you're going to have a wet weather there so make sure you are ready, you have your umbrellas handy and your storm drains are all cleaned out. that's when we're going to see, again, storm number three through the bay area. also talk about what you can expect for next week in my

. and we are back. our big story this morning on the local front, of course, is the rain. we have storm number two hammering the bay area right now. as you can see on the radar, it's pretty intense out there with some heavy showers coming down right now in the east bay. we're looking at a live shot here of the storm tracker 4 radar. rebecca is walking us through making some sense of that and what we can expect. >> we'll see the heavy rainfall stick with us much of the morning, especially the first half of the morning commute. that's when we'll see the heaviest of the rain. you can see it on storm tracker 4. look at all that color on the screen. that right there indicating that is where the heaviest rain is actually falling right now across the bay area. so as we time this storm out for you, we're actually going to see on futurecast, what you can expect for the rest of your morning. and then also getting into the

afternoon and for the evening. so 6:00 you can see we're still getting patches of that very heavy rainfall getting through the fremont area, through san jose. roads are going to be very slick, even possibly flooding at times. so be really careful as you make your way into work today. concord and moving over towards brentwood by 6:00, we'll see a slight break through the 7:00 hour for parts of the east bay and the south bay, but not for long. we'll have this rain continue with us throughout much of the morning. look at a lot of it, patchy, heavy rainfall that we'll be seeing. and really, once we get into the noon hour, look at that, it's going to be scattered but still have patches of that very heavy rain throughout much of of the afternoon and evening. winds will be picking up throughout the day as well. so we do have a high wind advisory issued. downtown san jose this is part of our forecast camera network.

you can see the pavement is slick. this is one of the areas we are seeing some of the heaviest rainfall and that high wind warnings i was talking about, that is scheduled from noon to midnight tonight. we are going to see anywhere from 20 to 35 miles per hour winds in the valleys. we're already seeing some of that right now. gusts up to 40 to 50 miles per hour. so debris on the roads, so be careful out there this morning. look at some of these wind speeds. almost getting toward that 20-mile-per-hour mark for oakland along the east bay shoreline right now. ten for hayward currently. we're looking at 31 for san jose. winds really kicking up there. in the north bay, we're looking at about 15% san in a rosa. also a high surf warning issued today. that is scheduled from noon until 4:00 tomorrow afternoon. we're going to see swales anywhere from 16 to 20 feet this afternoon. and tonight they could get as high about 28 feet. so try to stay away from the

coast if you can. of course strong rip currents. your seven day around the bay forecast. look at this. the rain continues because we're in storm number two right now. but storm number three is going to be coming to us this weekend late saturday night into sunday with those winds kicking up once again. we're going to have some showers on monday, maybe on tuesday. but things should finally be dry wednesday through the rest of the week. >> all right. the wet roads definitely causing problems this morning. i'm already noticing a number of accidents. but they're all minor. they are mostly spin-outs. drivers are crashing into the center divide. they're running off the road on to the shoulder in the wet weather. there's nothing major that's causing any major delays. but it's just a reminder that you need to slow down. here is your drive time for 80 west, just enter case you're about to pack up and roll into san francisco. no major problems. it's a quick 12 minutes from the bottom of the maze to fremont street. new accident coming in for the east shore freeway. this is coming out of berkeley to emeriville. 80 west at powell street. that's minor as well.

brooking -- blocking one lane. you can see the whole stretch of the 80. it looks pretty good. just watch out for the crash at powell. your drive time, a quick 15 minutes from highway 4 down to the maze. the richmond bridge, also very quiet. do reduce your speed getting across here. no major problems connecting with north or south 101 into and out ever san rafael. let's check some more drive times. highway 4 westbound, your commute traffic is picking up. there's some minor crowding through pittsburgh, but that's about it. so 15 minutes to work your way from hillcrest over to 242. a great ride for 580 west into dublin. the gray caster valley very quiet so far. 11 minutes to the interchange. i don't see any big trouble spots for the south bay. leafing morguing an hill, the coyote valley. rolling into downtown, it's only 23 minutes. once again, leave as early as possible and definitely consider hopping on public transit if you don't want to drive in the wet weather. >> all right. thank you.

to our big story this morning, the raiders taking a major step forward in their desire to leave oakland. the team now officially asking the nfl for permission to move to las vegas of the with the promise of a new state of the art stadium that seemed to sweeten the deal. we spoke to city officials who say they have a plan, though, to keep them here. >> we are right on time, right now, ready for this challenge that has been put in fronts of us. and i know oakland, we will rally to that challenge. >> reporter: not only has time not run out for a new stadium in oakland, but the city's mayor says oakland is right on top to present its plan. >> we are excited that the nfl will hear us out. they will give us the opportunity to demonstrate that we now have the partnership and the plan to get it done in oakland in a way that is responsible to the taxpayers. >> reporter: an nfl executive has dismissed the plan but city officials say if nfl owners compare the vegas plan with the

soon as they get a date from the nfl. at the oakland coliseum, dna kerman, kron4 news. as you might imagine, the news of the raiders taking a step to move was a pretty tough pill to swallow for a lot of the raider nation faithful. but now they are still based in california. that could change in the future. but raider nation, yes, disappointed but not discouraged about emptied to keep the team in the bay area. as time winds down, one group of supporters is drawing up a hale mary, it's garnered more than 1,000 signatures in just less than a week. >> we're hoping to get thousands and thousands of people to basically let the nfl owners know that they prefer the raiders in oakland and to give reasons why. so when you sign the petition, you could also put statement in why you believe the raiders should be in oakland. >> and oakland leaders and investors are also working to keep the raiders in the bay.

that's what oakland's mayor was talking about enter that last report. the group says it will continue to negotiate with the team and the nfl to build that $1.25 billion, 55,000 seat stadium right there at the oakland coliseum site. well here's a timeline of how this is supposed to play out. the raiders need 24 votes from the team owners to move. that vote is expected to happen at the next owner's meeting in phoenix. they start on march 26th and there is an interesting twist should this get approved. the raiders plan on staying in oakland for this season as well as the 2018 season before leaving. let's talk about 49ers. the niners general manager candidate list continues to shrink. green bay executive elliot wolfe removed his name from contention and will remain with the packers. the three candidates that are expected to get the job are green bay's bryan, minnesota george patten and arizona's terry mcdonagh. falcons offensive coordinator is expected to meet with all three candidates and see if they can't
