the nfl season officially comes to an end this sunday, but buckle up for an eventful offseason... as raiders relocation talks will surely heat up. it's already been an eventful week in the franchise's quest to move to las vegas... and today, league commissioner roger goodell offered his thoughts on how the process has unfolded. mark carpenter joins us with the details, mark? today-- the commissioner expressed disappointment in the fact there hasn't been a resolution here in oakland. the good news is that earlier this week, he also
5:26 pm
said that the league has not determined if las vegas works as an nfl market... which means there's still hope the raiders will stay in the bay area. team owner mark davis has spent the last several months trying to gather support for his grand las vegas plan, but the project has seemingly unravelled in a span of two days. on monday, casino mogul sheldon adelson, the man who pledged 650-million dollars to build a stadium, announced he'll be withdrawing his offer and áwon't be involved in a deal with the raiders. then on the following day, investment bank goldman sachs, davis' backup financeer, reportedly pulled out as well. if davis is unable to find another source of income, he may be forced to consider alternate optoins. earlier today, commissioner goodell spoke with fans and players at an nfl forum... and asked 'are we confident a solution can't be found in oakland?' "it's always disappointing for us to see a relocation application because we really want to see our teams stay where they are. you see it right here with these three

great men. their families have roots in those communities. they give back to those communities and it's hard to relocate a franchise. and we know the impact it has on our fans. so for us, that really is a failure when it comes to that, that we weren't able to solve the issues to get a stadium built or to try to make sure the team can be successful in that market." nfl owners are expected to discuss...and possibly vote on a relocation when they meet in march. whle we wait to see what happens with the raiders, it looks like a famous 49er...will be seeking relocation. according to multiple reports, quarterback colin kaepernick...will opt out of his contract and become a free agent. the move has been expected for several months now... as he and the niners agreed to a restructured deal in october, so the team won't have to pay him more than 14-million dollars in base salary. this ends a storied 6-year run with the franchise... a tenure that started with him bursting onto the scene and guiding the niners to championship contention. then, his career became known
