highway 17 in the santa cruz mountains is now partially open after a massive mudslide blocked the roadway. one lane is open in each direction where the mudslide happened....just north of vine hill road. engineers are still trying to figure out the best way to clean up the mess left behind. and the clean-up work has proven to be very dangerous. on thursday, two contractors working for caltrans were run over by a dump-truck trying to clear the road. one of them died, the other was seriously injured. we have much more coverage on the storm damage

just two days after the oroville dam's spillway started eroding, water is now also coming over the emergency spillway... thats something water managers were not expecting. kron four's spencer blake explains that is causing more concern this morning. since the oroville dam opened in 1968, it has ánever had water rush down the emergency spillwayuntil this weekend. after a 200-foot section of oroville dam's main spillway caved in earlier in the week, water managers slowed the flow by 15 percent, hoping it wouldn't need another channel

police are looking for two gunmen this morning after they opened fire near a movie theater. it happened around 8:30 friday night in antioch. two people shot at each other at lone tree way and mokelumne drive. this was near a shopping center and the a-m-c deer valley 16 theater are located. no one was injured in the shooting. there is no description of the gunmen this morning. happening now. police are looking for two men who robbed a victim in pacifica... and then lead them on a chase. it happened on the 500 block of crespi drive shortly after 8:00 friday night. police say two men attacked the victim... and stole their cell phone. that victim is recovering from minor injuries this morning. the robbers drove away in a gold jaguar with paper license plates. police saw the car on 7th and bryant streets in san francisco. the suspects then lead officers on a short chase... and they got away. police don't have a detailed description of the robbers. in national headlines... thousands of supporters and critics of planned parenthood

the rain in the bay area is over now... but people are still dealing with the cleanup this morning. highway 37 in marin county will remain closed for some time. it caused a lot of traffic yesterday as people were out trying to enjoy the sunshine. the road is still significantly flooded from the storms. all entrances to the road off highway 1-0-1 have been closed. right now... east bound traffic has to use atherton road to detour around the flooded section. and although caltrans has brought in pumps to clear the water... it was unsuccessful. the roadway in the flooded area has sunk two and a half feet, and a permanent repair will take months and millions of dollars.

in depth this morning... we are in a growing drug epidemic... and no neighborhood is immune. the centers for disease control reports... the number of teens using heroin has doubled in the past decade. as kron 4's vicki liviakis reports... many of them are kids from the suburbs. just like this anti-drug public service announcement suggests - heroin is worming its way onto suburban high school campuses and into the student body. stephanie is a self- described soccer mom from danville who discovered her oldest was doing heroin at home.

the rain in the bay area is over now... but people are still dealing with the cleanup this morning. highway 37 in marin county will remain closed for some time. it caused a lot of traffic yesterday as people were out trying to enjoy the sunshine. the road is still significantly flooded from the storms. all entrances to the road off highway 1-0-1 have been closed. right now... east bound traffic has to use atherton road to detour around the flooded section. and although caltrans has brought in pumps to clear the water... it was unsuccessful. the roadway in the flooded area has sunk two and a half feet, and a permanent repair will take months and millions of

highway 17 in the santa cruz mountains is now partially open after a massive mudslide blocked the roadway. one lane is open in each direction where the mudslide happened....just north of vine hill road. engineers are still trying to figure out the best way to clean up the mess left behind. and the clean-up work has proven to be very dangerous. on thursday, two contractors working for caltrans were run over by a dump-truck trying to clear the road. one of them died, the other was seriously injured. we have much more coverage on the storm damage online. for a full list of closed roads around the bay area, and updates on when they will reopen... just go to our website at kron-four-dot-com. breaking news this morning... police in petaluma are looking for the driver who hit and critically

injured a 70-year-old woman. it happened at around 7:30 last night in the intersection of south mcdowell boulevard and caufield lane. police say the woman was crossing the street when a van hit her. witnesses say she was crossing against a red signal. the driver of the van stopped after hitting the woman, but then took off. the woman is in the hospital this morning with life threatening injuries. police have not released a description of the van. in the east bay... there's been more suspicious deaths in berkeley two bodies were found inside an apartment yesterday morning. this is the second time this has happened in the last two months. kron 4's hermela aregawi has details on the investigation.

just two days after the oroville dam's spillway started eroding, water is now also coming over the emergency spillway... thats something water managers were not expecting. kron four's spencer blake explains that is causing more concern this since the oroville dam opened in 1968, it has ánever had water rush down the emergency spillwayuntil this weekend. after a 200-foot section of oroville dam's main spillway caved in earlier in the week, water managers slowed the flow by 15 percent, hoping it wouldn't need another channel to flow through."at this flow right now we do not anticipate
