president trump says his administration will release a new executive order on immigration next week to - in his words - "comprehensively protect our country." his original order restricted immigration from seven muslim- majority countries... which led to massive protests...and the order and was eventually put on hold by a federal appeals court. the president says says the rollout of that order was "perfect" but that it ran into "a bad court". president trump did not

reveal any specifics of the new order, but says the new order is being tailored to satisfy the ruling from the san francisco appeals court. and coming up at 5:30... president trump lashes out at the media today... insisting his administration is not in chaos and accusing the media of reporting fake news as it relates to russia among other things. we'll have more on this story coming up at 5:30. now to some breaking news we are following tonight at five. the solano county public health department, along with armijo high school in fairfield, is investigating a case of "active pulmonary tuberculosis" associated with the school. the school says the individual is receiving treatment and will return to the school campus only after public health has provided clearance. a letter was sent out to parents

on thursday work crews began removing this 20 thousand pound crane-like machine, which is used to pour concrete and create the walls of the high rise at 33 tahayma. this concrete boom, and the platform it sits on tipped wednesday afternoon, when one of the hydrolic jacks below the platform failed.the san francisco building department has now issued a notice of violation requiring contractors to provide them with a repair plan within the next 48 hours. sot william strawn/s.f. building department 29-39removing the concrete boom and then repairing the area where it was sitting could take until mid next week. in the meantime tehayma remains closed between first and second, and just one 1 of the 16 buildings evacuated wednesday remains off limits that's 44 tehama which sits directly across the street.sot francis zamora/s.f. dept. of emergency management 102-110 other offices on the street have reopened but for some the concern remains.sot merick

releasing water from the lake .. to make room for more water that will coming in the series of storms this weekend. workers are using the time to fortify the emergency spillway that eroded earlier this week... and can remove debris down stream.. officials say removing the debris protects oroville dam's power plant and will allow for it eventually to be restarted. earlier today butte county's sheriff say with rain on the way, he's going to be keeping a close eye on the situation to prevent the dam from failing... two to four inches of rain is expected in the foothills and mountains near the dam. a flash flood watch is in effect in the area until sunday.

today released this still photo from a surveillance camera... of a vehicle in the area of marina blvd and verna court. that's the area where police say 45-year-old wardell taliaferro was shot and killed "it appears to be an american made minivan that is white in color, possibly with tented windows, but it appears to have an after-market extended roof on it, what we are really asking for right now is help finding that van and find out who the people were inside, hoping that they can provide us some additional leads in the case, that will help bring the person to justice who is responsible for killing a san leandro resident in front of his children"san leandro police investigators say the people in the vehicle were close enough to have witnessed the shooting or they could actually be responsible for taliaferro's death. police arrest a an east bay man - suspected of fatally shooting a man in san francisco 37-year-old dontae allen of oakland...was taken in...less than 24 hours after preston

bradford was shot and killed. the 34-year-old was found sitting in a car...shot in the head... near van ness avenue and eddy street... around 2 yesterday morning. allen is currently being held without bail on suspicion of murder. to the south bay... water officials say the largest reservoir in santa clara county is on the cusp of spilling over . but unlike the oroville dam, the anderson reservoir is not at risk of failure or causing major flooding. this is video that was shot after the last storm. you can see water being let out of the spillway. at ninety nine point three percent full, officials are trying to drain as much water as they could before the upcoming storms. officials say they haven't seen the reservoir this full since 2006. happening now... in the north bay. crews are still working to repair highway 37 - before the next storms moves in. parts of that highway are remained closed this evening. kron

tonight crews are working to get interstate 80 in the sierra back open. they're clearing a mudslide that has shutdown parts of the interstate for nearly a week. this 30-foot-tall piece of a hill in baxter came crashing down last friday - and left interstate-80 a mess. the water under the soil continues to erode the face of this hillside loosening up the soil - leading to mudslides. for a short term solution-- crews are using a caravan of dump trucks to haul all the mud and debris away.

caltrans say's there is currently no estimated time for when the interstate will re-open. pg&e crews are out making final preparations ahead of the next series of storms. this collection of generators is on stand- by.... ready to roll for any emergency to quickly restore power until the utility can safely restore a substation or a neighborhood grid. pg&e works with an outside vendor to be able to respond... and provide power ... should there be a large scale loss of electricity. "this package here can power up to twenty five hundred homes. today in this yard we have the capability to power up to seventy five hundred homes if we needed to. by having generators on stand by, prepped and ready to roll in case of a large scale outage, or a longer duration outage, so we can get the lights back on quicker." those generators can

a big story tonight. a man has pleaded guilty to providing the high-powered rifles used to kill 14 people in the san bernardino terror attack the plea agreement between 25-year-old enrique marquez jr. and prosecutorswas accepted just a few hours ago by a federal judge in riverside. in addition to providing material supprort for terrorist. marquez also pleaded guilty to conspiring with one of the san bernardino shooters in plots for mass killings that were

nearly seven-hundred-thousand strollers whose car seats can fall off. the u-s consumer product safety commission announced the recall today. it includes the "b-agile" and "bob motion" strollers, with a click-and-go system that attaches a car seat to the stroller' frame. britax received 26-reports of injuries after car seats detached from the stroller. the commission says affected consumers should stop attaching the car seats to their strollers... and contact the company for possible repairs. for all the specifics...we've posted that info on kron4.com. free meals are coming back to delta flights. starting

there is a new lead in a deadly road rage investigation. pam moore is in the news room with what we are working on for kron 4 news at six. vicki... police are on the hunt for the gunman who killed a driver in san leandro... it happened sunday night on marina blouvard near verna court. police tell us.... one vehicle started shooting into another car. and a 45 -year- old father was killed. now, police have released new video of a van in the area at the time of the shooting. tonight .. we will show you that video... and tell you what police say is different about the van. we will have that story and more tonight on kron 4 news at six. vicki back to you.

in the north bay: repair work is continuing on highway 37.... as crews do as much as they can before the next storm arrives. the lanes flooded during last week's storms... resulting in a full closure between highway 101 and atherton avenue. this morning we saw caltrans busy building a barrier along the side of the highway... designed to keep flood waters way from the road. yesterday, they were taking out checking the condition of the pavement. right now they are working to raise the road level... putting down some concrete and paving over the top of it. no word when it will reopen. toss weather .synopsis...a few residual lingering showers are possible this evening, otherwise dry conditions expected. the next

rain the other big story we are following tonight...the ongoing crisis at the oroville dam. with more rain on the way... officials are working to drain the lake behind it to avoid water going down the emergency spillway. grant lodes is here with the update from the state. crews sound pretty optimistic, grant. as we have been telling you... they are trying to drop the lake by 50- feet....from when it was at capacity and overflowing last sudany. they are getting there... it's down 33 feet so far. and crews are also racing to shore up the emergency spillway. today... they reiterated that they're confident everything is going to hold up during this next round of storms. they have identified three areas where erosion could be a problem. one spot... fully repaired as of tonight. the two others... works in progress. as far as the ongoing water release... it

had been 100-thousand cubic feet of water a second. to give you an idea... that's enough to fill an olympic- sized swimming pool. now they are going to start dialing it back a bit. but... they are not taking any chances. the national guard is on standby in case things deteriorate rapidly like last weekend. that's when nearly 200-thousand people living nearby were ordered to evacuate. as of one hour ago... the water level at lake oroville was 865-feet.was 865-feet.lake oroville was 865-feet. the goal... get the water
