east bay. the alameda creek continues to rise and now streets are closed due to flooding and a mudslide on niles canyon road. as kron four's alecia reid reports, people who live in the area say they've never seen the creek run this high. this creek has overflowed its banks in a number of areas, spilling onto walkways and trails.people have been flocking to this neighborhood to see the alameda creek and how much it's raging. at the alameda creek regional park, we saw one guy try to get as close to the water as he could. but most people have been keeping their distance.because not only is it raging at a high speed, it's very loud. there is a huge concern for safety tonightniles canyon at mission blvd has been closed for some time.and that's because parts of the roadway is flooded.the alameda county sheriff also closed niles canyon due to a mudslide. a number of people that came here today, did so after hearing about the traffic alert.people that have been living in this neighborhood for decades aren't used to seeing this much water so it's fascinating.sot - gaddsot - mike dasilvasot - henry stilwellthe county is keeping an eye on the river this

evening.we're told it crested this afternoon.reporting live in fremont major bay area highways also dealing with flooding. take a look this interstate 280 in san jose, near winchester boulevard. the northbound onramp was closed, along with the two lanes in the southbound direction because of flooding. in sonoma county... a large sinkhole and river erosion is threatening four homes in monte rio... and the foundation to one of the homes is starting to sink. the erosion had been occuring for the last few weeks now. crews have tried to shore up the river bank with tons of rocks. we are monitoring the situation at lake oroville this morning... which threatened to flood nearly 200-thousand people early last

week. authorities now say the risk is greatly reduced. they're continuing to release water from the dam and make repairs to the damaged spillways, which was the problem in the first place. there's cautious optimism this morning that the lake has room for all the additional rain.... after releasing so much water all last week. in the south bay. emergency crews are keeping a close eye on coyote creek this morning. the storm caused a neighboring mobile home park to flood. and now, a flood warning is in effect. kron 4's j-r stone spoke to some people who say they were ready to evacuate as the water started to rise. one accident after the next monday afternoon on interstate 280. this as the rain came down hard. highways were a mess in many sections of the bay area and sideroads weren't much better. especially in san jose where the south bay mobile home park flooded. sot you could have road in a canoe down heregenevieve lozano is the manager of this mobile

home park. a location where streets were covered in water on monday. in some sections a foot deep. mandatory evacuations were not issued here but it's what everyone was talking about.sot i asked are we going to leave or stayso we're still heresot i did have two ladies that live in space 46 i asked them to leave because they have no man living at home no car or nothing and space 49 her name is stellashe says she's not going anywhere.those who have lived here their entire life say they haven't seen flooding like this for 20 years. now that the flood waters have receeded their hopeful they don't see these problems for another 20 years.sot well it was terrible this afternoon cause the water was really high but now it looks a lot better it's running down thank god.

and there's a massive sinkhole on mount hamilton road and coyote creek trail this morning. the area has been dealing with heavy rain. the creek is expected to rise near eleven feet above flood stage with the rain we have been getting. happening now in the central valley. mandatory evacuations in orders in effect following a levee breach along the san joaquin river. this is happening near the rural town of manteca, south of stockton. the national weather service issued a flash flood warning in the area until 7:00 this morning. the breach was halted, but evacuations remain in place. an evacuation centers is setup at the lathrop community center. and this is the reason why... a kron four viewer sent us these photos, showing the river rising near manteca.

and we continue to follow storm damage this morning. sonoma county is another area that's had it's fair share of flooded roads . now, despite warnings it seemed hard for drvers to resist temptation when they see a "road flooded" sign. kron4's spencer blake shows us the storm damage. two lanes lead to nowhere as highway 12 stops abruptly at the flood waters of 121 - almost abruptly as some cars that got way too close to it. "yeah, we've heard all these storms have been coming through and it's been flooded, but we wanted to come down and see what it looked like."once again, the intersection is completely closed.the signs and cones stop cars at least a good mile away."sometimes even multiple layers of road closures aren't enough to stop people from driving around them. don't let yourself be one of those drivers."if you do, you might end up like some of the people who áthought they could make it through this same trouble spot two weeks ago.and of course, firefighters had to come to

the rescue.but even if you were to make it through, you'd risk getting stopped by c-h-p. an officer or two had stern words for drivers who ignored the closures."attempting, thinking about going through the water. hoping that they won't. "firefighters at the station right on this corner keep an eye on the floods.one of them tells me the rain was coming down hard at 6:15 monday morning, but the road was passable.by 6:30.it was flooded, and firefighters started blocking of the road before caltrans or c-h-p even arrived.now, there's at least a foot of water at the deepest point. the east bay hit hard once again with another storm. and now, there are several mudslides. kron four's dan kerman shows us one blocking a road near fremont. a major slope failure has made palomares road in niles canyon completely impassable, according to alameda county officials.palomares road has been closed since last week due to the danger of rocks falling on motorists, pedestrians, and bicyclists. the closure went into effect thursday at about 2 p.m. between palo verde road in the unincorporated community of castro valley and niles canyon road in fremont, said john medlock jr., deputy director of the public works agency's maintenance and operations department.during monday's powerful storm, a boulder collapsed on top of the road at mile marker 8.73.at this time, there is no estimated time of when the road will reopen.

it's not just mudslides causing problems on bay area roads... there have also been reports of downed trees...all over the bay area. this was on highway 13 yesterday in alameda county. you can see a tree blocking one of the lanes. fortunately... it did not hit any cars when it came down. in the south bay... the anderson reservoir continues to spill over it's banks. the dam is at capacity and now excess water is rushing down the spillway. the santa clara valley water district says it will to continue to release until the spillway reaches 2000 cubic feet per second. then they will close the outlet at the bottom to relieve any additional pressure downstream..... into coyote creek and cause flooding in other areas. a flash flood warning for coyote creek near morgan hill was issued late yesterday afternoon.

visiablity big puddles everywhere most drivers were going well below the speed limit thankfully it was a holiday so traffic was better than it would be a on a normal monday. in pacifica the pier at sharp park was closed due to high surf huge waves were rocking the area almost hitting the top of the pier this is big deal this is a locals favorite for fishing typcially up to a hundred or more people are fishing off this pier. but to be safe the city is keeping it off limits.. the big waves on the coast brought out a lot of lookie lous sots - i like the waves. the waves are big. it's cool to see mother nature rocking the waves. i use to live here and bummed can't go out on pier. stand up -i'm here in a shopping complex in san mateo near the county fairgrounds, there is a trader joes here a ross a rite aid rain not stopping people from running errands, people still happy about rain sots- i like the rain. we need the rain. it's good for drought. i just came from washington state and we got more rain than them. not everyone so happy with the weather.. in san mateo on annapolis drive over the weekend the rain and wind brought down two light poles

and just down the creek from where will is this morning... people at a mobile home park were put under a voluntary evacuation order because of the flooding. anny hong is here with a look at the damage. this was the scene yesterday at the "south bay mobile home park." you can see some of the roads were completely underwater, in some sections a foot deep. the

back side of the mobile home park is protected by levees and train tracks, but water came over the tracks and flooded the streets. crews worked into the night to clear out the water. despite all the flooding, the evacuations were only voluntary. that flood warning along the coyote creek a edenvale is in effect until further notice... other parts of it is under a flood warning until 11:30 this morning. and three people had to be rescued from flood waters near coyote creek in san jose. this happened just before 1:00 yesterday afternoon. this is video of the rescue courtesy of our helicopter

partnership with a-b-c 7 news. the san jose fire department originally reported that two people were trapped by the water. when they got to the scene they found that it was actually three people. the fire department launched a boat to rescue them... there are no reports of serious injuries. a large section of highway 84 is closed because of storm damage. kron 4's yoli aceves is live on highway 84 this morning with the details. yoli. the east bay is being hit hard by the latest round of rain... causing several mudslides. palomares road in fremont is shut down between niles canyon road and palo verde this morning. yesterday morning boulders from the hillside came crashing down... blocking the road. and as the rain continues, more rocks and mud keep falling onto the road. officials with alameda

in sonoma county.... flooding shut down parts of highway 121. the closure begins where highway 121 and highway 12 meet. firefighters started blocking the road at around 6:30 yesterday morning. there is at least one foot of water at the deepest point. c-h-p is urging cars to stay at least a mile away from the closures. this didn't stop some people living in the area to go see the flooding.

and down trees during yesterday's storm caused a big problem all across the bay area yesterday. anny hong is here with a look at the damage. as the storm was bearing down on the bay... kron 4's viewers sent us pictures and video of the damage all day yesterday. this was the scene on highway 13 yesterday in alameda county. you can see a tree blocking one of the lanes. fortunately... it did not hit any cars when it came down and nobody was injured. and marin county tweeted out these pictures at highway one and bear valley. that is near the point reyes station area. you can see a tree came crashing down and took power lines with it. the tree blocking the entire road as fire crews show up to assess the damage. nobody

was hurt when teh tree came down. toss back to the anchors. and in the south bay... there's a massive sinkhole on mount hamilton road and coyote creek trail in san jose this morning. the area was hit hard by yesterday's storm. the creek is expected to rise near eleven feet above flood stage with the rain we have been getting. and for the first time in almost 10 years the water at lake berryessa rose high enough to drain into a massive vertical spillway. the vertical spillway is 72-feet wide and 200 feet deep. yesterday large crowds gathered to watch the water drain. but the rising water in the lake also forced people at a nearby campsite to and take a look at this... kron4 viewer- wendy mc-grane- sent us this video she recorded on highway 1 in big sur yesterday morning. a flash flood warning was issued for this area yesterday. you can see standing water on the highway and small mudslides already forming.

at one point during the storm this area of big sur saw nearly an inch-and-a-half of rain fall in just over an hour. happening now. two gunmen are on the run after robbing a restaurant in novato at gunpoint. the china village restaurant on san marin drive was robbed around 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. the robbers ordered customers and employees to lay on the floor while they stole money from the cash register. the thieves were able to get away. thankfully, no one was injured. police have not given out a description of the gunmen. at any moment, president donald trump could sign a new executive order on immigration. the new order will revise the previous travel ban that led to protests and was halted by the federal appeals court in san francisco. cnn is reporting that the new travel ban is expected to exempt green card holders. it will take out any preference for certain religious minorities allowed in the country. and it gives detailed notice of restrictions to people coming from seven identified muslim-

and just down the creek from where will is this morning... people at a mobile home park were put under a voluntary evacuation order because of the flooding. this was the scene yesterday at the "south bay mobile home park." you can see some of the roads were completely underwater, in some sections a foot deep. the back side of the mobile home park is protected by levees and train tracks, but water came over the tracks and flooded the streets. crews worked into the night to clear out the water. despite all the flooding, the evacuations were only voluntary.

that flood warning along the coyote creek is in effect until 11:30 this morning. and three people had to be rescued from flood waters near coyote creek in san jose. this happened just before 1:00 yesterday afternoon. this is video of the rescue courtesy of our helicopter partnership with a-b-c 7 news. the san jose fire department originally reported that two people were trapped by the water. when they got to the scene they found that it was actually three people. the fire department launched a boat to rescue them... there are no reports of serious injuries. and happening now a large section of highway 84 is closed because of storm damage. kron 4's yoli aceves is live on highway 84 this morning with the details. yoli. the east bay is being hit hard by the latest round of

rain... causing several mudslides. palomares road in fremont is shut down between niles canyon road and palo verde this morning. yesterday morning boulders from the hillside came crashing down... blocking the road. and as the rain continues, more rocks and mud keep falling onto the road. officials with alameda county public works say they are working to secure the hillside.

in a number of spots spilling onto walkways and trails. the flooding forced the closure of niles canyon road at mission boulevard. part of niles canyon was also closed because of a mudslide. people who live in the area say they have never seen this much water in the creek. in sonoma county... a large sinkhole and river erosion is threatening four homes in monte rio. and the foundation to one of the homes is starting to sink. the erosion had been occuring for the last few weeks now. crews have tried to shore up the river bank with rocks. take a look this interstate 280 in san jose, near winchester boulevard. you can see just how deep the water was on that part of the interstate and how much water was sprayed up as the cars drove through it. the northbound onramp was closed last night, along with the two lanes in the southbound direction because of the flooding. in sonoma county....

flooding shut down parts of highway 121. the closure begins where highway 121 and highway 12 meet. firefighters started blocking the road at around 6:30 yesterday morning. there is at least one foot of water at the deepest point. c-h-p and caltrans is advising drivers to steer clear of the area nad pay attention to road signs. we are monitoring the situation at lake oroville this morning... which threatened to flood nearly 200-thousand people early last week. authorities now say the risk of flooding is greatly reduced. they're continuing to release water from the dam and make repairs to the damaged spillways, which was the problem in the first place. there's cautious optimism this morning that the lake does have room for all the additional rain that the state has seen this week. make sure you have the kron four moble app to track the storm. we'll keep you updated about severe weather or traffic problems in your area with breaking news push alerts. it's available and free for both apple and android devices.

water officials in tuolumne county have opened the spillway to a major reservoir after it was just a few feet from spilling over. the spillway to the don pedro reservoir is expected to stay open for at least four days. it is the first time it's been used in twenty years. and the recent storms forced the closure of the pacifica pier. the pier closed late sunday night because of high surf. huge waves rocked the area and almost hit the top of the pier. usually dozens of people can be seen fishing off the pier but the city was keeping
