happening today both an anti trump protest and rally to support the president at uc berkeley. they are set to start at 12 and 2 today. heavy police presence is expected. here is video of what happened last time a pro president trump event took place. violent protest broke out when milo yiannopoulos was set to speak at an event on campus. one student says he will not be attending and is afraid of the potential for more violence. naweed tahmas says "we do not plan on attending the event, we actually don't know if it will proceed, we haven't had any actual emails about the this, we have not been contacted about this" "and they believe so of the organizers for the event maybe setting up a trap to get trump supporters to come up so they can target them and harass them" "fearing for our safety really, we are not sure once again that the protestors will become violent" the 'march 4 trump' is slated to start at two- today at the martin luther king jr civic park. the berkeley police department will be there to monitor any potential violence. happening today... supporters of president trump are heading back to u-c berkeley for the march 4 trump. it's a big rally in support of the president. violent protests broke out on campus

the last time a supporter of president donald trump was scheduled to speak at an event on campus. kron 4's averi harper is and has more. averi? another big story we are following this morning... another vallejo family terrorized by burglars. kron 4's ella sogomonian has the details of the story you'll only see here on kron 4 news. here on kron 4 you'll only see of the story has the details of the story you'll only see here on kron 4 news. a vallejo woman came home to this video captured on her surveillence cameras thursday night around 6::15."you know you can't be home 24/7 it's frightening it's really frightening."two unknown men repeatedly banged on the front door at janice street - then cased all sides of her home for an entry.all the while the cameras kept recording and her son was inside."i do have security cameras installed but i just recently put up signs letting them know that there is 24 hour surveillance. and they need to stay away."she now warns her community about the second attempt back to back this week in the area. .they definitely targeted me. they pulled up and came straight to my house."thursday we report from a home invasion nearby on cimmaron drive.you can see in the video the burglars managed to get inside as the homeowner walked in on them.they took off running. but she says it's the second time theives targeted her home in the past two months.it's not clear if the two cases are related.the latest victim is upset saying she called police immediately after the burglars left but they have yet to respond and file a report. "they need to step it up a couple of notches. i shouldn't have to wait until something has happened myself or my son or my property is stolen before you do something."we reached out to vallejo police but they have yet to respond . in vallejo ella sogomonian kron 4 news.

the alameda county coroners office says all 36 victims of the oakland ghostship fire died from smoke inhalation. that fire broke out last december during a dance party. the warehouse was an illegal home for a number of artists. there is still no word on what caused the deadly fire. kron four spoke to the alameda county district attorney's office earlier this week, we were told a criminal investigation is just about finished. no word on whether there will be any charges. family and friends

gathered to honor fallen alameda county sheriff's deputy michael foley. deputy foley died after being accidently hit by a bus at the santa rita jail late last month. fellow law enforcement members lined the entrance to the concord pavilion saluting foley's casket. foley started his career with the concord police department, then moved on to the sheriff's deparment where he worked as a deputy for nine years. hundreds of people gathered to remember his life and service to community. michael foley, deputy's son: "my dad was a family man first. and he went to work to provide for his family and to make money to do the things he loved with us, and make sure we were alright. then after all that, he would go to work and do what he thought was right. and he tried to help the community the best that he could." foley's brother, who is also in law enforcement, gave the eulogy. he talked about how his brother loved public service and how even in death, he gave back to others by being an organ donor. a peninsula highway is

all lanes of highway 101 are open again after a dump truck slammed into an overpass in palo alto. it happened just before 11 thursday night and caused major delays as crews shut down lanes during friday morning's commute. the driver was taken to the hosptial with minor injuries. officials believe that a 45 to 50 foot section of the overpass and a steel support girder are damaged. caltrans says that it will take extensive work to repair the damage. it's unclear when that work will begin or how much it will cost. in the south bay... donations to the san jose coyote creek flood victims relief fund is flowing. money collected through the city's community foundation is being distributed by local charities.. that includes the red cross, the salvation army, and others. priority is being given to those who were displaced by the flood and are still living in shelters and need help with temporary housing and expenses. other city resources are also available once people apply and their

we have new drone video this morning of the oroville dam spillway... it's another good view of the 24-hour work that continues to fix the the damage to the spillway that was caused from the heavy rain and erosion.

we're also seeing more of the work crews on the site who are clearing away debris. yesterday they were able to restart the underground power plant as they continue to haul off sediment and debris below the spillway. and there's another reason people are watching the spillway area, there may be 'gold' underneath it... because of all that digging and erosion.... some prospectors are salivating over what they consider a 'golden opportunity....' one man, who's been prospecting for 20 years says there's bound to be newly exposed chunks of gold. "...there's pounds and pounds of gold. it's a great opportunity. and gold is so heavy -- it always wants to go down." when he says 'down' -- he means the lower level where the digging and dirt-moving is happening. babies, rushed out of nurseries. hundreds of tombstones, toppled over and

crushed. police lights, crime scene tape and more. bomb threats have targeted more than 100 jewish centers across the country over the past two months. a missouri man is in jail this morning. police say, he is the person responsible for at least some of the threats. kron four's steve aveson reports. "thompson made a number of threats against jewish institutions using his ex- girlfriend's name, as well as other threats in his own name. the fbi says thompson tried to portray his ex=girlfriend as anti=semitic ... then claimed she was trying to do the same thing to him.in this tweet he claims he is the victim of a quote "nasty racist white girl."there's a c-4 bomb. there is going to be a bloodbath.thompson is charged with using an electronic device to disguise his voice ... as well as using fake internet e=mail accounts. agents took phones and computers from his parents home in north st. louis today.

his stepfather says he hasn't seen thompson in months.do you think it was him?i don't know thompson is tied to only a handful of the more than 1=hundred antisemitic incidents since the first of the year... five of them in new york city.since the start of the year, more than 100 bomb threats have been called into to at least 81 different jewish community centers, schools and other institutions in 33 states.rep. carolyn moloney / -d- new york: let's not mince words. let's call this what it is, domestic terrorism. that was kron four's steve aveson reporting. according to the f-b-i, thompson's first threat was emailed to the jewish museum in new york on january 28th. happening now. the wife of the gunman responsible for the orlando nightclub massacre will not be released on bail. that order comes down from a florida federal judge. it reverses the order from a bay area judge that would have allowed noor salman to be released from the santa rita jail in dublin yesterday. a federal judge in oakland said salman should

be allowed to make bail because there was no proof that she has ties to the islamic state. prosecutors claim, she knew her husband omar mateen watched isis training and beheading videos. a woman who says noor salman is like a daughter to her, says she's innocent. "i want him to have mercy to have mercy to help her not to put her in this situationif you see her inside the jail i feel very sorry for her she's very tired she always tell me auntie i want to go home i want to go homei tell her just put your faith in god you are innocent and god will let you out because you are innocent and god know that." on june 12th, omar mateen opened fire in a gay nightclub and left 49 people dead. mateen was killed later in a shootout with police. in other bay area headlines. we are learning more about the two santa clara county deputies who were arrested last month. investigators say, deputy leonel groba was arrested for allegedly assaulting an inmate. in a separate

incident... seargent robert liddle was arrested on suspicion of secretly recording an employee sworn to the department. no other detailed information about the alleged crimes has yet been released. in stockton. we now know why an arrest warrant was issued for former mayor anthony silva... according to the san joaquin county d-a's office, silva is facing embezzlement charges. investigators were searching silva's stockton home thursay while he was away on vacation. these charges are not related to those he faced last august when he was accused of eavesdropping on a game of strip poker with teenagers at his mayor's camp and providing them alcohol. the felony eavesdropping charges have since been dismissed. the search is on for a dangerous robber. watch the violent encounter next. live look outside... san mateo bridge. san francisco police are

looking for the person behind a violent jewelery store robbery. the bold crime happened during the day in china town. kron4's lydia pantazes shows us who police are now hunting. this is surveillance video as a suspect shoves a woman to the ground on february 3rd at about 12:30 in the afternoon. he then ordered other employees of the lukfook jewelry store to the ground at gunpoint.police say he smashed several display cases in the store with a hammer.most of the damage has already been replaced but you can still see cracks in the front window.the store manager wouldn't talk with us on camera...but just a few stores down...employees of the red blossom tea company saw people running from the store."that was an indication for us that something was going on and that we probably should stay inside our shop until until whatever was going on calmed down."the man had his face covered as he stormed into the store...but police were able to get these pictures of the man from a surveillance camera outside

the store.they clearly show his face and what he was wearing.feliz morelli says she's not really concerned that her place of work will be a target..."for us we're a business that doesn't run on cash very much, we're pretty much credit card, apple pay exclusively so as far as being robbed for financial gain, we don't have that large of a concern about it." but she would still like to see a larger police presence in the area."we want to make sure that our employees are as safe as possible when we're opening and closing the shop and even during our normal day to day process. i think it would be great if there was a little more foot patrol from police around, just to help lower the possibility of these issues." that was kron four's lydia pantazes reporting. police believe the robber worked alone.

kron four goes in-depth this morning. we take a closer look at the life and career of a remarkable public servant.. this summer, federal judge thelton henderson will step down from the northern district federal court after nearly 40 years... now in his 80's, he has delivered decisions in many high- profile and often controversial cases. kron four's pam moore reports. how many times have you seen a judge getting applause from prisoners?the appreciation is the result of a ruling by justice thelton henderson .. the lawsuit, some 20 years ago.. charged deplorable conditions in state prisoner medical care ... prisoner deaths averaging one every 6

"they had doctors in what looked like a broom closet.. i saw them standing in line water dripping from ceiling.. standing in half inch of water waiting to be seen.. but now - big improvements .. for example, san quentin has a state of the art health facility .. "judge thelton henderson is soft spoken.. and mild mannered.. and many say "tough" .. he has made many rulings considered controversial, with sentences requiring actions beyond the norm. in fact, he believes his rulings 'should' carry lasting meaning.. jersey are internet sensations this morning... and it's all because of this unique skill. 12-year-old michael and 10-year-old nicholas are tossing and spinning pizza dough in their father's resturant. they have been doing this for years and have taken their talents all over the country to perform in pizza shows. they use plastic dough so they don't ruin the real pizza dough. their dad has them perform their talent in front of the store window... and it's helping him attract tons of customers. protests planned today at berkely. i'll explain why after the break.

"they need to step it up a couple of notches. i shouldn't have to wait until something has happened myself or my son or my property is stolen before you do something."we reached out to vallejo police but they have yet to respond . in vallejo ella sogomonian kron 4 news. the alameda county coroners office says all 36 victims of the oakland ghostship fire died from smoke inhalation. that fire broke out last december during a dance party. the warehouse was an illegal home for a number of artists. there is still no word on what caused the deadly fire. kron four spoke to the alameda county district attorney's office earlier this week, we were told a criminal investigation is just about finished. no word on whether there will be any charges. family and friends gathered to honor fallen alameda county sheriff's deputy michael foley.

deputy foley died after being accidently hit by a bus at the santa rita jail late last month. fellow law enforcement members lined the entrance to the concord pavilion saluting foley's casket. foley started his career with the concord police department, then moved on to the sheriff's deparment where he worked as a deputy for nine years. hundreds of people gathered to remember his life and service to community. michael foley, deputy's son: "my dad was a family man first. and he went to work to provide for his family and to make money to do the things he loved with us, and make sure we were alright. then after all that, he would go to work and do what he thought was right. and he tried to help the community the best that he could." foley's brother, who is also in law enforcement, gave the eulogy. he talked about how his brother loved public service and how even in death, he gave back to others by being an organ donor. a peninsula highway is open again after a dumptruck

all lanes of highway 101 are open again after a dump truck slammed into an overpass in palo alto. it happened just before 11 thursday night and caused major delays as crews shut down lanes during friday morning's commute.

the driver was taken to the hosptial with minor injuries. officials believe that a 45 to 50 foot section of the overpass and a steel support girder are damaged. caltrans says that it will take extensive work to repair the damage. it's unclear when that work will begin or how much it will cost. in the south bay... donations to the san jose coyote creek flood victims relief fund is flowing. money collected through the city's community foundation is being distributed by local charities.. that includes the red cross, the salvation army, and others. priority is being given to those who were displaced by the flood and are still living in shelters and need help with temporary housing and expenses. other city resources are also available once people apply and their needs are evaluated. so far, the relief fund totals just over $6 million dollars. 5 million dollars of that money was provided by billionaire kieu hoang, of los angeles. he toured the rock springs flood zone

we have new drone video this morning of the oroville dam spillway... it's another good view of the 24-hour work that continues to fix the the damage to the spillway that was caused from the heavy rain and erosion. we're also seeing more of the work crews on the site who are clearing away debris. yesterday they were able to restart the underground power plant as they continue to haul off sediment and debris below the spillway. and there's another reason people are watching the spillway area, there may be 'gold' underneath it... because of all that digging and erosion.... some prospectors are salivating over what they consider a 'golden opportunity....' one man, who's been

that was kron four's steve aveson reporting. according to the f-b-i, thompson's first threat was emailed to the jewish museum in new york on january 28th. breaking news just into the news room. a big rig is overturned on highway 1-0-1. it's affectting the northbound lanes near paul avenue in san francisco. san francisco fire is at the scene right now. at least one person is hurt because of the incident. stay with us for updates throuhgout the morning. in the south bay. a team of armed robbers dressed up like geisha dolls are under arrest in connection to a series of armed robberies at various gas stations and liquor stores. the three suspects hit at least a dozen stores in the san jose and milpitas areas. according to police... investigators gathered physical evidence and interviewed witnesses and victims to identify the suspects. all three are in booked into local juvenille halls.

in other bay area headlines. we are learning more about the two santa clara county deputies who were arrested last month. investigators say, deputy leonel groba was arrested for allegedly assaulting an inmate. in a separate incident... seargent robert liddle was arrested on suspicion of secretly recording an employee sworn to the department. no other detailed information about the alleged crimes has yet been released. in stockton. we now know why an arrest warrant was issued for former mayor anthony silva... according to the san joaquin county d-a's office, silva is facing embezzlement charges. investigators were searching silva's stockton home thursay while he was away on vacation. these charges are not related to those he faced last august when he was accused of eavesdropping on a game of strip poker with teenagers at his mayor's camp and providing them alcohol. the felony eavesdropping charges have since been dismissed. the search is on for a dangerous robber. watch

looking for the person behind a violent jewelery store robbery. the bold crime happened during the day in china town. kron4's lydia pantazes has store surveilance video and more on the investigation. this is surveillance video as a suspect shoves a woman to the ground on february 3rd at about 12:30 in the afternoon. he then ordered other employees of the lukfook jewelry store to the ground at gunpoint.police say he smashed several display cases in the store with a hammer.most of the damage has already been

happening today... supporters of president trump are heading back berkeley for the 'march 4 trump'. it is a big rally in support of the president. this comes after an event featuring alt- right speaker milo yiannopoulos turned violent. this is what happened when yiannopoulous was scheduled to speak at an event in at u-c berkeley. violent protest broke out both on campus and in the streets. members of the berkeley college republicans organized that event. campus officials say they are expecting more protests to occur today.

all lanes of highway 101 are open again after a dump truck slammed into an overpass in palo alto. it happened just before 11 thursday night and caused major delays as crews shut down lanes during friday morning's commute. the driver was taken to the hosptial with minor injuries. officials believe that a 45 to 50 foot section of the overpass and a steel support girder are damaged. caltrans says that it will take extensive work to repair the damage. it's unclear when that work will begin or how much it will cost. in the south bay... donations to the san jose coyote creek flood victims relief fund is flowing. money collected through the city's community foundation is being distributed by local charities.. that includes the red cross, the salvation army, and others. priority is being given to those who were displaced by the flood and are still living in shelters and need help with temporary housing and expenses. other city resources are also available once people apply and their

we have new drone video this morning of the oroville dam spillway... it's another good view of the 24-hour work that continues to fix the the damage to the spillway that was caused from the heavy rain and erosion. we're also seeing more of the work crews on the site who are clearing away debris. yesterday they were able to restart the underground power plant as they continue to haul
