(averi)this is the video that has sparked outrage in vallejo...(nats)a man being arrested by police...in the video you see the officer hitting the man..."i saw the video this morning and it was just uncalled for."kareem walton lives in the country club crest neighborhood of vallejo where it happened. "they could of took a whole different measure, they didn't have to jump on him and beat on him, i mean the guy didn't have no weapon, i mean he ran but that's just resisting arrest."he's not only upset about how the officers handled the arrest but he's also upset about this...(nats)at one in the video the officer takes his gun out of his holster... "for them to put him down and beat him like that and then as people with the video tapes and they telling him to back up and threatening them, it's just crazy."we know that police were called after the man arrested was inside a nearby store and employees say he was acting erratically. other witnesses told me what the video doesn't show is that the man arrested was trying to hit the officer.in a statement

to kron4 news, a spokesman for the the vallejo police department said quote: "it's important that no one make any assumptions without having all the available facts. just like anyone else officers are innocent until proven guilty. violence is always ugly but police officers are exposed to situations everyday and they are required to over come that violence not just match it. we will investigate this matter the action if any policy or law has been broken."we did speak with the initially called police off she said the man arrested had been trying to buy a greyhound ticket but his credit card work.man was upset and started yelling and she says she and her children felt threatened. 26 year old jonathan tran of milpitas faced a judge at the d.c. superior court saturday after having quite the friday night. authorities say tran was arrested after breaching security of the white house complex. it happened just before midnight friday. tran was caught near the south entrance saying "i am a friened of the president. i have an appointment." when asked how he breached security to the property he told an agent, "i jumped the fence." court documents say jonathan tran had two cans of mace, a passport, a laptop, a book written by president trump, and a letter to the president. in the letter tran reportedly mentioned russian hackers and said he had information of relevance. tran went on to say that he had been followed. his brother told cnn that the 26 year old was troubled after being laid off from his job at an electric engineering company. the president briefly talked about the matter on saturday.sot secret

here are the stories from the week -- that could impact your bottom line. ( marty ) this year bart is facing a 25 to 35 million dollar deficit in it's upcoming budget.. as a result some bart directors are proposing an increase in fares.. but not for all riders. one plan is to put a sur-charge on paper tickets that cost bart more money.. in addition, bart is looking at removing some of the discounts for seniors, youth and the disabled. all proposals will go to public hearings before they are approved. ( marty ) if you've been procrastinating and still haven't filed your taxes this year you're not alone. the i-r-s- says many people are waiting to file their taxes this year. they've received close to six million fewer individual returns than they had at this point last year. that's and eight and a half percent drop. the official filing deadline to submit your 2016 tax returns

critically sick from drinking tea from a san francisco chinatown herbalist remain hospitalized this morning. the city's department of public health says that the tea leaves bought at the store contained the plant-based toxin aconite. a man in his 50's last month and a woman in her 30's this month became critically ill within an hour of drinking the tea. health officials are working to find the original source of the leaves. and they are warning others to stop consuming it. ( marty ) searchers in rural san mateo county found the missing woman they've been looking for since thursday evening alive. kron four's spencer blake brings has the more on her rescue from san mateo county. stretcher.to a more stable spot in the woods.she had been lost in an area of unincorporated woodside since she left a bed and breakfast there to go for a hike."she was found in very good condition; she did have some bumps and bruises. obviously - ya know, she's been out there since thursday evening."that's when her husband reported her missing.he was especially concerned because she has slight dementia, and takes insulin."it's pitch black out there. the terrain's mountainous, so we immediately activated our search team."law enforcement agencies and volunteers combed the wilderness for more than 24 hours, and finally found her at about 10:30 saturday morning."picture a hillside, and then a drop. so she was in the drop. and from where you're standing, you wouldn't be able to see her unless you went right to the edge."this is the kind of view the search party had into the ravine, about 600 yards from skyline boulevard.luckily, the searchers were calling haury's nameand heard her call back. and she wasn't the only one responding."i believe this is

( marty ) a little more than two weeks after a landslide shut down morgan territory road in contra costa county... neighbors dealing with the headache say they're not getting enough answers on when the road will be repaired. kron four's philippe djegal shows us what's being done to ease concerns. (philippe) so it goes for tim allen... who like the rest of his neighbors living off morgan territory road... walks about a three quarters of a mile from one end of the land slide to the other... shuttling food and other items from parked cars down the hill back home. contra costa county public works says the landslide, located about a mile up morgan territory road near clayton... is still moving about a foot per day...

so, foot traffic is ok -- but no cars.tim allen/neighbor- "we really don't have a choice in the matter, so we're just making sure we think about every one of our moves." bridge neighbors who depend on this road say the prolonged closure has been an absolutely nightmere... and, a tremendous inconvenience... and, that their patience is running out. no name/neighbor- 'there's a lot of hypotheticals, and there's a lot of 'we're trying real hard, but we don't hear any dates, we don't hear any timelines. all we hear is we're working on it real hard." for the second time since morgan territory road was shut down because of the slide... neighbors met with county leaders and agencies... to talk about some of the fixes already made and what's to come in the future.diane burgis/supervisor- 'we're trying to give the, the ability to vent to get the information so that we can respond and find some solutions." but many left unsatisfied with what they heard, including tim allen.tim allen/neighbor- "i'm glad everyones here and we're talking about all the things we've talked about today, but i came here to hear solutions." the water district has installed a temporary water line, replacing the line damaged by the slide and it's

continued movement. slowly but surely, garbage service has been restored... and, part of the buckled road has been filled with gravel to allow people to walk on it. assemblymember timothy grayson has talked about creating a temporary road to bypass the slide. but as for when the actual road will be repaired and reopen... public works doesn't know. julie bueren/public works director- "(reporter) some of the residents feel like it might not be for six months or longer. it could be months, yes." in contra costa county, philippe djegal, kron four news. immigrant women and their supporters marched through san francisco to mark international working women's day. thousands of people marched through the city's mission district yesterday afternoon. marchers held signs saying "no ban, no wall" and chanted "we are one." they're concerned that trump administration policies are a threat to the rights of immigrant families across the country. ( marty ) the march was a peaceful and no known arrests were made. ( marty ) in national news.... vice president mike pence was in kentucky making a pitch for the new healthcare plan. it comes just days after the administration's win with the latest jobs report. jeremy roth has the details.

the obamacare nightmare is about to end."vice president mike pence took his healthcare pitch on the road this weekend... speaking at a distribution center in louisville, kentucky. pence wasted no time drilling into why the current administration has been so eager to repeal and replace the affordable care act.mike pence / vice president: "here are the heartbreaking facts. today, americans are paying 3- thousand dollars more a year on average for health insurance since the day obamacare was signed into law." getting rid of obamacare was a promise president trump made throughout his campaign..mike pence / vice president: "we are going to repeal the mandates and taxes and penalties of obamacare. butt sot we'll give americans a tax credit so people can buy plans that they need and at the price they can afford. butt sot and most significantly in my view is we'll give states like kentucky the freedom and flexibly with medicaid." saturday's event wasn't all about healthcare...pence took the opportunity to bring up another campaign promise.. putting america back to work.

officers were monitoring the situation. but the protest was completely peaceful and no arrests were made. reporting in sf, ha, k4 news. ( marty ) happening now... police are searching for a man who they say shot a woman multiple times in richmond. it happened early thursday morning on 24th street. officers say the victim and this man on your screen, 32-year-old michael robinson, fought briefly. according to police, robinson left the scene but returned minutes later and shot the woman several times. they say he is african-american, five foot nine inches, with a bald head and prosthetic leg. police consider him to be "armed and dangerous." there is a one and a half million dollar arrest warrant for robinson.

resources is increasing the flow of water from the oroville reservoir. lake oroville is currently taking in more water than it is putting out. the water level at the dam has risen six-inches in just 24-hours. the department of water resources is advising people to avoid the feather river because of the increased depth and speed of the current. ( marty @ landing ) in san francisco... a man who had his car stolen twice in the same week has decided to take matters into his own hands to track down the thieves. his soft top car has been broken into ááfive times this year. kron4's ella sogomonian explains that the victim was able to solve the crime himself with the help of an app. (ella)benjamin yu had his car broken into 5 times in the past year in san francisco. this week it was stolen twice back to back from this parking spot on 450 alabama street. benjamin yu, tracked down stolen car "it was shocking to think that after we recovered the vehicle, filed the police report, left it here in the same spot the next day the same perpetrator with the same key stolen before just decided to come back and go for a joy ride in the car."ben rents the car out to drivers using the getaway app which shows him where his car is in realtime. so he took matters into his own hands and tracked the theives himself."is the car

there do you see it? no we are driving there right now."ben live streamed his search for his mini cooper on facebook.he says tuesday the car's convertible soft top was slashed open and the keys kept inside for car renters were stolen. the next day he found the car damaged and abandoned on the side of bayshore blvd. "it was stolen from right here then we used an app to see it was driven to brisbane california and left on a road by a bus stop."the successful return was short lived when the very next day he suspects the same person who broke in used the stolen car keys to take it again."it was fitting an ironic that getaround was the reason the vehicle was stolen in the first place but it was also the reason we were able to track the vehicle and recover it."he took to the app again and found the thieves in a safeway parking lot a few blocks from his home.ella sogomonian, san francisco "so until this very moment ben still does not have access to

( marty ) scary moments as a wind storm caused a little girl to go flying off her porch in ohio. 4-year-old madison gardner and her mom had just arrived home. they say winds had been strong for days. and as the little girl was headed inside her home, the wind caught her and almost blew her away. her mother says she ran over and as the little girl was holding on to a door handle. the little girl wasn't hurt. ( marty ) fire officials recommend you change batteries in smoke detectors this morning. about 80 percent

( marty @ landing ) a bay area man is in jail facing federal charges this morning after jumping the fence of the white house. authorities say the man was caught by a secret service agent late friday night. kron four's j-r stone reports on the suspect's first day in court. 26 year old jonathan tran of milpitas faced a judge at the d.c. superior court saturday after having quite the friday night. authorities say tran was arrested after breaching security of the white house complex. it happened just before midnight friday. tran was caught near the south entrance saying "i am a friened of the president. i have an appointment." when asked how he breached security to the property he told an agent, "i jumped the fence." court documents say jonathan

( marty @ landing ) a bay area man is in jail facing federal charges this morning after jumping the fence of the white house. authorities say the man was caught by a secret service agent late friday night. kron four's j-r stone reports on the suspect's first day in court. 26 year old jonathan tran of milpitas faced a judge at the d.c. superior court saturday after having quite the friday night. authorities say tran was arrested after breaching security of the white house complex. it happened just before midnight friday. tran was caught near the south entrance saying "i am a friened of the president. i have an appointment." when asked how he breached security to the property he told an agent, "i jumped the fence."

court documents say jonathan tran had two cans of mace, a passport, a laptop, a book written by president trump, and a letter to the president. in the letter tran reportedly mentioned russian hackers and said he had information of relevance. tran went on to say that he had been followed. his brother told cnn that the 26 year old was troubled after being laid off from his job at an electric engineering company. the president briefly talked about the matter on saturday.sot secret service did a fantastic job last night i really appreciate it. secret service did a fantastic job. it was a troubled person. really sad. secret service did a good job. over the past several years there have been numerous incidents of people trespassing on white house grounds. tran will be arraigned in federal court on monday. the judge has opted to hold the bay area native saying he could pose a flight risk and danger to the community.
