(vicki) antioch police shot a man who they say rammed into a police car during a pursuit last night. the suspect was injured but survived. it happened after 10pm on mokelumne drive. police were responding to a shooting, when they tried to pull over a suspect believed to be involved. that person refused to stop and led them on a chase. during the pursuit, police say the

suspect rammed a patrol car near wawona court. an officer fired a shot at the suspect, and the suspect was wounded. that suspect is now recovering in the hospital. no officers were hurt. officers found a gun in the suspect's car. the shooting is under investigation. kron4news (anchor) pittsburg police are working to locate a man they believe was involved in a homicide earlier this month. giovante boyd has a warrant out for his arrest and should be considered armed and dangerous. police believe he was involved in a homicide that happened on march 5th on carpino avenue. anyone with information is asked to call pittsburg police. (vicki) police say they have arrested a man after he allegedly said he planted two bombs at a san francisco bart station this morning. the civic center bart station and market street above was closed around 9:30 this morning while officers and police dogs searched for any threat. 46-year-old don stevens is now in custody on suspicion of making that false bomb threat and interfering with rail operations. a suspicious item was found but everything

was deemed safe after about an hour. the closure caused major delays throughout the bart system but normal service has resumed throughout the area. (grant) a family in vallejo is searching for their father who has been missing for weeks. 48-year-old james stepps was on his way to see his grandaughter late last month, but never made it. after calling local hospitals, jails and even the coroner's office, his wife called a tow yard. she learned his car...was there. the "mitsubishi eclipse." has apparently been abandoned on rollingwood road, just blocks away from his daughter's house where he was headed. family members say it is unlike him to just disappear. his family is holding a vigil tonight...hoping for his safe return. (vicki) tonight... we're learning new details on what happened to a bay area man who jumped the white house fence last week...(grant) catherine heenan joins us now with what the secret service is saying about the incident...

(catherine) we now know 26-year-old jonathan tran from milpitas was on the grounds for 15 minutes before being caught... that's according to a source from the secret service... president trump says that tran was disturbed and unstable. the secret service says tran set off several alarms when he trespassed onto white house grounds... we also know that security failures allowed him to bypass other sensors. it's believed he might have sneaked past an east wing guard post that's not routinely staffed. tran was found lurking around the area as early as 6 p-m friday, nearly six hours before he was arrested just steps from a main door to the mansion. secret service officials are conducting a formal 'mission assurance review'... in other words, they're taking great pains to figure out why things went so wrong... grant?

(grant) an investigation is underway... after a laptop was stolen from a secret service agent's car in brooklyn. that's according to two senior law enforcement officials in new york.. they said the laptop has sensitive information, was highly encrypted, and contained floor plans and evacuation protocol for trump tower. also stolen...the agent's lapel assignment pins that gave her access to security details. the agent described the incident as a compromise of national security. public school system are getting a bonus that's turning into a headache for their parents.(grant) the district is shifting the academic year, which means summer break will be one week longer this year. kron4's maureen kelly reports that some working parents left

(maureen kelly)the trouble isn't so much that city kids in public school are getting a longer summer....it's that the city's rec and park is not offering summer camps for that extra week of school.....and that's taking some parents by surpriseohh what are we going to do sorcha? who wants to babysit?rec and park provides a variety of day camps for 1500 kids a week.....and their schedule usually lines up with the school district....they were alerted of the change by the school district at the beginning of this year that summer would be 12 weeks...but they say that wasn't enough notice for them.we typically really plan out our camps well in advance, at least two seasons in advance because if you can imagine that we have to hire staff we have to have a budget and plan it all out and make sure this facilities are safe and allow us to utilizeso by the time we were alerted in january it was

unfortunately a bit late for us to make the adjustmentrec and park will however be geared up to deal with another change coming to the sfusd calendar....kids will be getting a full week off for the thanksgiving holiday next year....so winter camps are being planned for monday tuesday and wednesday of that week. the rec and park says they and the school district will be back in sync come summer 2018. the city's summer camp registration has also ungone another change that's expected to make the process easier to sign up. i'll have more about that part of the story coming up at 6p. maureen kelly kron4 news (vicki) a tuberculosis scare reported in fremont. the alameda county public health department confirms someone at irvington high school has tested positive for the rare lung disease... the school's principal says the t-b exposure happened from the fall of 2016 through winter. the fremont

unified school district says anyone potentially exposed will receive a letter from the health department saying the student or staff member should get tested for t-b. gabrielle dubinsky/student- "it was a student."//deborah suarez/student- "everyone just kinda wants to go get checked and make sure that we're good, but other than that we're not really worried."//raquel flores/parent- "i was really relieved that they sent out the information to us so quickly, and uh, that they are going to be following up with the children and informing the parents of follow-up procedures."(vicki) the principal sent a letter out to parents and guardians yesterday, detailing the issue. and, the school is following up with an additional e-mail today. the school is also hosting a parent meeting at six o'clock on monday... to answer any questions families may have. (grant) the main oroville spillway that crumbled in this winter's bad weather...in part leading to an evacuation of almost 200-thousand people...is being used once again. officials have been testing the newly repaired infrastructure on the main spillway. it was shut off last month....

revealing massive holes that needed repair. a temporary patch has been put in place but officials say permanent repairs could take place this summer. the dam's hydro-electric plant is also being tested to see if it can once again regulate water levels in lake oroville. (vicki) a frequently traveled road in alameda county has reopened after a mudslide. officials with the county public works agency say palomares road has reopened between palo verde road in castro valley and niles canyon road in fremont. the road was closed because of a mudslide as well as sinkholes, culvert failures and storm debris. crews have stabilized the slope at the location of the mudslide and one lane is now open. officials say drivers should still be careful in the area. a weak high pressure ridge is ruling the realm this afternoon. visible satellite imagery shows mostly clear skies from point arena to the north to point conception to the south. a band of moisture associated with an upstream trough is advecting clockwise over the ridge, with some high clouds/upper level moisture spilling over. expect to see gradually increasing cloud coverage advancing from the northwest through into this evening into tomorrow morning as the ridge weakens. temperatures this afternoon are running between 5 and 10 degrees warmer than this time yesterday afternoon, despite starting this morning around 5 or 10 degrees cooler than yesterday morning. this is typical with clear skies and high pressure, as the diurnal heating/cooling cycle reaches idealized heat flux in

the line at the europa deli in orinda was already snaking out the door for a saint patrick's day tradition. for the last twenty years they been serving up as much as a thousand pounds of corned beef. this year it may be a ton.every year it kept increasing from five to seven fifty to a thousand, last year we did fifteen hundred and this year being on a weekend we figure we can do two thousand pounds. that twenty year tradition has patrons playing hookie for the opportunity.what else would you eat on saint patrick's day. corned beef? i've heard of that.we took off work to come down here for a corned beef sandwich, might not go back to work.it takes a bit of effort to cook up two thousand pounds of corned beef and five hundred pounds of cabbage.we start the night before, we stay up all night, it's a very grueling process but somehow we get through it.we got cabbage here, corned beef, yeah we got everything here. everyone's in a festive mood, it's a lot of work but it's a lot of fun at the same time. and should you question the authenticity of two greek brothers serving up this most traditional saint patrick's day meal, one only has to look to one brother's wife.my maiden name is ryanmarried a greek though.doesn't matter what your nationality is today

that's if president trumps proposed budget gets approved by congress. kron four's terisa estacio has more on what that means for local seniors. it is early in the morning , and the rush is on to get food into the right place so it gets into the hands of those who need it - bob strathmore is one of those seniors who relies on his meals on wheels package. 12 bob strathmore, meals on wheels recipient. it is wonderful here in san francisco, 1.7 million meals are served to seniors like bob each year. however, president trumps new budget cuts funding by 18 percent and that could take a big bite out of program. 29 anne quaintance, chief gov't affairs, meals on wheels. we do a lot with this program. not only do we give meals, we check on people. it helps keep people out of nursing homes, it is a win. 42 terisa estacio. and it is not just here but nationwide, cuts could effect the program. track . nationwide, meals on wheels which is under the health and human services department - it has an annal budget around 82.8 billion - meals on wheels is just a small part, but across the country, it plays a major role

(vicki) today the environmental protection agency announced a one-hundred- million dollar award to michigan in response to the flint water crisis.(vicki) cost cutting measures in the city led to tainted drinking water that contained lead and other toxins. the e-p-a grant aims to help flint "replace lead service lines" and improve infrastructure. the money came from a 2016 special fund. the e-p-a said in a news release that under president trump's new budget blueprint, its drinking water state revolving fund "remains fully funded." (grant) a security officer at los angeles international airport saved a man who tried to jump off of a 60-foot pedestrian bridge- and the drama was captured on camera. in the video you can see the man walking down the right side railing. he checks out the edge and starts

to climb over. the security officer is there in the background. he notices what's going on and runs over in time to pull him back from what would have been a 60-foot fall. the man was placed on psychiatric hold. airport police did not release his name. (grant) officials say a man arrested for shooting a san bernardino sheriff's deputy is also suspected of fatally shooting a man he followed off a freeway and shooting at two other cars. sheriffs say it appears the man...37-year-old kenneth scott welch...targeted his vicitms at random. authorities believe on monday- welch followed a driver off interstate-210 and shot him in the head while the man was parking his car. they think welch shot at two other motorists on the same freeway. then yesterday...aut horities say welch shot a san bernardino deputy...about an hour after he beat and robbed a gas station clerk.

soft body armor saved his life in this event.">(grant) the deputy was struck in a position on his chest that officials say would have been fatal had he not been wearing his protective equipment. welch has been booked into a county jail where he faces several charges. showed support after leaving a meeting with president trump this morning. a g-o-p aide says members were informed of some changes o the bill... like making tax credits for older americans more generous. that's a move that could win over some - who've raised concerns about the health care measure. 216 votes are needed to back the bill. (grant) a recent report shows that lots of young kids are getting hurt because of items that parents have purchased specifically for their babies. the study published in the journal pediatrics estimates that more than 66 thousand children under the age of three are treated yearly for injuries related to nursery products. the study found that most injuries happened in the home and occurred in the first year of life. boys were more likely to get hurt than girls ... nearly half of all reported injuries were to the head or neck. according to the study the products most commonly associated with injuries are strollers, cribs, and baby carriers.

(vicki) disney will pay back 3-point-8 million dollars to more than 16-thousand florida workers who were charged for their costumes. (vicki) the labor department says disney violated wage laws by deducting a "uniform or costume" expense from the employees' paychecks. that deduction caused their hourly pay to fall below the federal minimum wage. the government also says disney did not compensate employees for the time they spent performing "pre-shift" duties... and the resorts failed to adequately record time and payroll records. the payouts include people who work at disney vacation club management corporation and the walt disney parks and resorts. gearing up for 10 am saturday. that's when you can go online or show up at rec and park offices to sign you kids up for the city run summer camps. the city offers reasonably priced camps with lots of variety to keep kids busy in the summer....but the trouble is....the sign up process is usually very difficult. that's been a real incredible struggle you have to be parked with your coffee in front of your laptop at 9:45 so you can try over and over to get in and there are times that it's taken me until 1130 to try to get inand many times by the time parents did get on...the popular camps were full up.but in july the rec and park department upgraded their technology system that is expected to be able to take the crush of parents all trying to sign up at the same time. the new website has a wish list so parents can fill out and prioritize what camps they want for their kids ahead of time so they can be ready to do when registration opens. the downside is is that everybody will be able to register exactly at 10 o'clock on the dot so we're expecting camps to fill up within the first minute. some camps that have lower class sizes will definitely fill up in the first couple of seconds.this new system can also be
