( marty @ landing ) a family on the peninsula is mourning after the loss of a father. he was murdered in san francisco while out celebrating with his son after a warriors game. the killer remains on the loose this morning. the family spoke exclusively to kron four's ella sogomonian. it's a story you will only see on kron four. the martinez family is left in the dark with more questions than answers after dad jorge martinez was fatally shot in san francisco's mission district friday just after midnight. "it's really, really hard to put into words how i feel right now. it's your dad,

your best friend someone you shared many memories with."it was an evening of celebration for jorge's birthday with his son jesse and jesse's girlfriend. jesse's mom - who remained close friends with his dad after they split years back - bought them tickets to the warriors game.the three contined their night to their favorite spot - beauty bar on mission and 19th .the two say their dad stepped out for some fresh air before leaving for home.but when they came out to look for him they saw and ambulance drive off and their dad no where in sight. "we went outside and there were police officers everywhere and there was commotion everywhere.""by the time we walked out of beauty bar there was caution tape everywhere we really didn't know what was going on."it was only when they showed up to san francisco general hospital that they learned their dad was shot several times in the back."maybe walking away from whatever argument we don't know but it definitely looked like he was walking away."the martinez family say their dad was an extremely happy and fun loving man.they don't know who did this or why. "not knowing is the hardest thing on top of him not being here anymore." for now they say detectives are looking for surveillence

( marty @ landing ) in the south bay. we have new video this morning showing the seconds leading up to a police shooting in san jose . this is from our helicopter partnership with abc 7 news showing the aftermath of friday's shooting. take a look at what the scene was like before shots were fired. ( marty ) these are the moments just before officers opened fire. you can see them surrounding the truck with their guns drawn. police say three officers fired after the suspect pointed what appeared to a weapon at

officers and then revved the engine. the suspect is in critical condition this morning. the incident started friday afternoon at 1:30. police responded to a report of a naked man acting eratically. there was a car chase which ended in a busy shopping center on stevens creek boulevard. ( marty ) in the last ten days, there have been five police shootings in the bay area. before the shooting in san jose.... on thursday, antioch police shot a man they say rammed into a police car during a chase. tuesday, fremont police shot and killed a 16-year-old girl in hayward while trying to catch a robber. on monday, a man in napa was shot dead by officers. police say he was threatening people with a knife outside a home depot. and last thursday, santa clara police shot and killed a man. investigators say, he threatened officers. ( marty @ landing ) a big story we are following this morning. five people are under arrest this morning after police say they were involved in a hit-and-run. this happened friday in palo

alto . the cyclist remains in the hospital this morning. two of the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident.. while the other three were apprehended saturday morning. this is video of the scene from our partnership with abc 7 news. all 5 suspects were in a volkswagon toureg around 3:30 friday afternoon. police were trying to stop the car for a vehicle code violation. the car then car sped off, going the wrong way on the 200 block of homer avenue. when officers turned that corner.. the volkswagon was not in sight.. officers instead found an injured cyclist. the victim is in her forties with major injuries but is expected to survive. ( marty @ landing) happening today. some 20 puppies will go through specialized training this morning as part of their work for guide dogs for the kron 4's averi harper is at the oakland international airport right now with more. good (averi) hey marty. there are 25 puppies here this mroning training at the oakland airport to engage in

travel tranining for guide dogs for the blind. they are going through alaska airlines ticketing, security check, baggage claim and other exercises. this all to help prepare them for airport visits in the furture with visually impaired travelers. i'll be here throughout the morning with more. shooting is honored in a unique way. it's an effort to help his family with funeral expenses. 24-year-old demarcus doss was shot last thursday on interstate 80. he was an aspiring law enforcement officer. kron four's jeff pierce shows us the special event held in his honor. this is the season for basketball tournaments and a special tournament was held on saturday at contra costa college in san pablo.this is the demarcus hero basketball tournament, demarcus the hero basketball tournament.demarcus doss was murdered earlier this month in a drive by shooting on interstate 80 in richmond. the tournament was a fund raiser to help the family pay for his funeral.they came to me with the idea to have this event to help raise money for the family with expenses and there was no way i could turn

them down.it takes something like this to bring everybody together it kind of sad, at the same time it's a great cause to help out a family when a young man went through something terrible, helping them get through the process. for more than five hours ten teams contributed their talents on the basketball court in a trubute to a young man they see as a hero. his heroics were in the last moments in his life when he shielded his female passenger from the fuisilade of bullets that shattered his minivan that evening.it was down in him to protect a woman or protect somebody else, he didn't think about his own life,that says a whole lot about him.it was a senseless violent act so we came to show our support.that support on the college's basketball courts was for a family that the game played a major role in their lives.our whole family played basketball we're a basketball family so

basketball is a way we express ourselves and are feelings. those feelings were evident as the community turned out to watch dozens of his friends play the game that was so intregal to a young man whose life ended too soon.all we can do now is to keep his name alive and represent him in the best way we possibly can. demarcus would love it.in san pablo jeff pierce kron four news ( marty ) the c-h-p says there have been 19 shootings on bay area freeways this year. there were 55 freeway shootings in 2016. this is video from the most recent one that happened in san jose thursday. a 17-year-old passenger was hit by gunfire. the shooter is still on the loose this morning. ( marty ) a dog died in a boat fire in alameda. this is a photo from the scene... it happened 11:30 yesterday morning in alameda at the

grand marina. the fire started in one docked boat, and spread to two others. fire crews found the dog in the boat with the most fire damage. there were no human injuries. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. ( marty ) in san francisco.... firefighters are looking into what caused an aparment building in chinatown to burst into flames. it happened at 3:30 yesterday morning on waverly placenear portsmouth square. we first brought you this story yesterday on kron four news weekend. firefighters brought it under control in less than an hour. an eldery woman was treated for smoke inhalation. ( marty ) crews have started to demolish the rain damaged bridge along highway one in big sur. rain damaged the bridge. hundreds of people on the other side of that bridge have found themselves cut off with very limited access in and out... kron four's spencer blake explains the process of tearing down the bridge could go on for a long time. pfeiffer canyon bridge was a wobbly mess fridaycrews were shaking it back and fort with

( marty ) and there will be big stakes in tomorrow night's game against o-k-c. kevin durant will not play, but steph curry and russell westbrook both will. during shootaround yesterday, curry responded to westbrook's "who's he?" comments. earlier in the week, curry said rockets guard james harden should be named league m-v-p. and westbrook wasn't too pleased with the reigning m-v-p's answer. here's curry's reponse.

second round of the tournament. the winner would advance to the sweet 16 in san jose. the last time the gaels advanced to the sweet 16 was back in 2010. and the gales jumped out to an early lead in the game. at one point the gaels led by 10 points. but in the second half, the second-seed wildcats rallied and pulled away. arizona would go on and win 69-60. saint mary's exit the tournament in the second round for their third straight apperance. the wildcats will face xavier in the san jose on thursday. ( marty ) hazardous materials crews have finished clearing a mercury spill discovered earlier this week in antioch. this is in the area of manzanita way near sycamore drive. crews found liquid mercury on monday after someone reported a silvery substance in the street. there were no reports of anyone getting sick. there's no word on the source of the mercury but the latest spill is the third in the area since decemeber. crews will be monitoring the area

for the next few months. ( marty ) in the south bay... hundreds gathered to remember a san jose little league coach who was stabbed and killed outside of a bar where he worked. kron4's lydia pantazes was at the memorial. nats singing...a community coming together to remember a man who dedicated himself to children in san jose..."a lot of people known him and they really miss him now."john blanco plays baseball for eastridge little league where frank navarro was president. "he was a good president and he will always be with us and to never forget about him." 35-year old frank navarro died after being stabbed near the bar where he worked on february 26th.today parents here today don't want to remember how he died, but the legacy he leaves behind."our league is one of the toughest

parts of san jose and we have a lot of struggling families and it was really important for him, if they couldn't afford to pay for registration he would just wipe it away and say we got you."delilah blanco says frank would help players who were struggling pay for items they needed to play,.. "so it was really important for him to have the kids there because it kept them out of gangs, busy and with getting into any sports it gets you motivated to keep their grades up because he was always on the kids to keep their grades up." ( marty ) it was one of president trump's biggest campaign promises -- building a wall along the border with mexico. now the project is

officially requesting bids and we are learning more about what the wall could look like. officials say they want to build a 30-foot high barrier and it also must run at least six feet underground. adding that they want the wall to be tough to climb over. and nearly impossible to cut through. according to documents, the wall will look more aesthetically pleasing from the north side. the department of homeland security will oversee the project and will eventually patrol and maintain the wall. wall proposals are due to the government by march 29th. ( marty ) vice president mike pence is in florida this weekend promoting the new american health care act. the bill has cleared two house committees but is still receiving criticism. kim hutcherson has more about the backlash. natsfor the second weekend in a row vice president mike pence is taking his health care show on the road. mike pence / vice president: "obamacare nightmare is about to end." ( marty ) one week after the secret service says they caught a man from milpitas trying to get into the white house, another person tried to do the same thing. according to white house press secretary sean spicer-- a man jumped over a bicycle rack in front of the white house. agents caught the person before he could make it to the white house fence. he did not have any weapons. the president and his family were not in the white house at the time of the incident. they are spending the weekend at their florida estate. ( marty ) an appeals court ruling on the dakota access pipeline now means construction on it could start as soon as tomorrow. the u-s court of appeals denided a request from the standing rock and cheyenne river sioux tribes for an emergency order. the two tribes have been fighting the construction of the dakota access pipeline for the past year. according to the tribes, it could damage cultural sites and contaminate local water supplies. the

( marty ) breaking overnight... 3 people are in the hospital this morning after a shooting in vallejo. it happened at about 10 last night when police received a report of numerous shots fired at the 100 block of westwood street. police say a 27-year-old man and a 26- year-old woman were visiting family when a man approached them and fired multiple rounds. another man was shot in the back of his right thigh as well. all three victims were taken to the trauma

center for treatment for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. police say the victims did not know the shooter and police have not yet identified a motive for the shooting. ( marty ) emptying the shelters and giving homeless pets a good home. and one shelter in the east bay may have done just that. it happened at the berkeley humane society on 9th street. dozens of people showed up to welcome a new pet into their loving homes. berkeley humane officials say nearly 60 animals were up for adoption. with all their adoption fees waived. they say every kennel is just about vacant this morning. only a few cats are left. the berkeley humane society has served the people and animals of the community since 1895. ( marty @ landing ) keeping his memory alive -- with the goal of making a differnce. back in 2014 concord native chad pascal died of a rare blood disorder ever since then, his family has held a golf tournament in his honor. raising money to help find a

cure. kron four's philippe djegal spoke with chad's parents... who spent the day surrounded by friends and family remembering their son. (philippe)nats- golf swings david pascal (pas-kull) thinks about and misses his son chad everyday... on saint patrick's day, he would have turned 35 years-old. chad spent countless hours on the diablo creek golf course in concord...nats- gold swings his home course as a four year member of ygnacio valley high school's golf team... like chad -- this green holds a special place in david's heart.david parscal/chad's dad- "i remember sitting right on this first tee. winning his first golf match, when he was a freshman in high school. and, uh, the coach said, you can't go out on the course, so we hid behind the trees to watch his first hit. and, uh, remember that right here." a year after chad passed away... his family launched the chad parscal annual golf tournament... now in it's third year... christy parscal/chad's mom/nats- "here's your wedding, that's cute." chad's mother christy and

( marty @ landing ) breaking overnight... 3 people are in the trauma center this morning after a shooting in vallejo. it happened at about 10 last night when police received a report of numerous shots fired at the 100 block of westwood street. police say a 27-year-old man and a 26- year-old woman were visiting family when a man approached them and fired multiple rounds. another man was shot in the back of his right thigh as well. all three victims were taken to the trauma center for treatment for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. police say the victims did not know the shooter and police have not yet identified a motive for the shooting. ( marty @ landing ) a family on the peninsula is mourning after the loss of a father. he was murdered in san francisco while out celebrating with his son after a warriors game. the killer remains on the loose this morning. the family

spoke exclusively to kron four's ella sogomonian. it's a story you will only see on kron the martinez family is left in the dark with more questions than answers after dad jorge martinez was fatally shot in san francisco's mission district friday just after midnight. "it's really, really hard to put into words how i feel right now. it's your dad, your best friend someone you shared many memories with."it was an evening of celebration for jorge's birthday with his son jesse and jesse's girlfriend. jesse's mom - who remained close friends with his dad after they split years back - bought them tickets to the warriors game.the three contined their night to their favorite spot - beauty bar on mission and 19th .the two say their dad stepped out for some fresh air before leaving for home.but when they came out to look for him they saw and

ambulance drive off and their dad no where in sight. "we went outside and there were police officers everywhere and there was commotion everywhere.""by the time we walked out of beauty bar there was caution tape everywhere we really didn't know what was going on."it was only when they showed up to san francisco general hospital that they learned their dad was shot several times in the back."maybe walking away from whatever argument we don't know but it definitely looked like he was walking away."the martinez family say their dad was an extremely happy and fun loving man.they don't know who did this or why. ( marty ) these are the moments just before officers opened fire. you can see them surrounding the truck with their guns drawn. police say three officers fired after the suspect pointed what appeared to a weapon at officers and then revved the engine. the suspect is in critical condition this morning. the incident started friday afternoon at 1:30. police responded to a report of a naked man acting eratically. there was a car chase which ended in a busy shopping center on stevens creek boulevard. ( marty ) in the last ten days, there have been five police shootings in the bay area. before the shooting in san jose.... on thursday, antioch police shot a man they say rammed into a police car during a chase. tuesday, fremont police shot and killed a 16-year-old girl in hayward while trying to catch a robber. on monday, a man in napa was shot dead by

officers. police say he was threatening people with a knife outside a home depot. and last thursday, santa clara police shot and killed a man. investigators say, he threatened officers. ( marty @ landing ) a big story we are following this morning. five people are under arrest this morning after police say they were involved in a hit-and-run. this happened friday in palo alto . the cyclist remains in the hospital this morning. two of the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident.. while the other three were apprehended saturday morning. this is video of the scene from our partnership with abc 7 news. all 5 suspects were in a volkswagon toureg around 3:30 friday afternoon. police were trying to stop the car for a vehicle code violation. the car then car sped off, going the wrong way on the 200 block of homer avenue. when officers turned that corner.. the volkswagon was not in sight.. officers instead found an injured cyclist. the victim is in her forties with major injuries but is expected to survive.

( marty ) a man killed in a freeway shooting is honored in a unique way. it's an effort to help his family with funeral expenses. 24-year-old demarcus doss was shot last thursday on interstate 80. he was an aspiring law enforcement officer. kron four's jeff pierce shows us the special event held in his this is the season for basketball tournaments and a special tournament was held on saturday at contra costa college in san pablo.this is the demarcus hero basketball tournament, demarcus the hero basketball tournament.demarcus

doss was murdered earlier this month in a drive by shooting on interstate 80 in richmond. the tournament was a fund raiser to help the family pay for his funeral.they came to me with the idea to have this event to help raise money for the family with expenses and there was no way i could turn them down.it takes something like this to bring everybody together it kind of sad, at the same time it's a great cause to help out a family when a young man went through something terrible, helping them get through the process. for more than five hours ten teams contributed their talents on the basketball court in a trubute to a young man they see as a hero. his heroics were in the last moments in his life when he shielded his female passenger from the fuisilade of bullets that shattered his minivan that evening.it was down in him to protect a woman or protect somebody else, he

didn't think about his own life,that says a whole lot about him.it was a senseless violent act so we came to show our support.that support on the college's basketball courts was for a family that the game played a major role in their lives.our whole family played basketball we're a basketball family so basketball is a way we express ourselves and are feelings. those feelings were evident as the community turned out to watch dozens of his friends play the game that was so intregal to a young man whose life ended too soon.all we can do now is to keep his name alive and represent him in the best way we possibly can. demarcus would love it.in san pablo jeff pierce kron four news ( marty ) the c-h-p says there have been 19 shootings on bay area freeways this year. there were 55 freeway shootings in 2016. this is video from the most recent one that happened in san jose thursday. a 17-year-old passenger was hit by gunfire. the

( marty ) a dog died in a boat fire in alameda. this is a photo from the scene... it happened 11:30 yesterday morning in alameda at the grand marina. the fire started in one docked boat, and spread to two others. fire crews found the dog in the boat with the most fire damage. there were no human injuries. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. ( marty ) in san francisco.... firefighters are looking into what caused an aparment building in chinatown to burst into flames. it happened at 3:30 yesterday morning on waverly placenear portsmouth square. we first brought you this story yesterday on kron four news weekend. firefighters brought it under control in less than an hour. an eldery woman was treated for smoke inhalation. ( marty ) crews have started to demolish the rain damaged bridge along highway one in big sur. rain damaged the bridge. hundreds of people on the other side of that bridge have found themselves cut off with very limited access in and out... kron four's spencer blake explains the process of tearing down the bridge could

have finished clearing a mercury spill discovered earlier this week in antioch. this is in the area of

manzanita way near sycamore drive. crews found liquid mercury on monday after someone reported a silvery substance in the street. there were no reports of anyone getting sick. there's no word on the source of the mercury but the latest spill is the third in the area since decemeber. crews will be monitoring the area for the next few months. "he was a good president and he will always be with us and to never forget about him." 35-year old frank navarro died

after being stabbed near the bar where he worked on february 26th.today parents here today don't want to remember how he died, but the legacy he leaves behind."our league is one of the toughest parts of san jose and we have a lot of struggling families and it was really important for him, if they couldn't afford to pay for registration he would just wipe it away and say we got you."delilah blanco says frank would help players who were struggling pay for items they needed to play,.. trump's biggest campaign promises -- building a wall along the border with mexico. now the project is officially requesting bids and we are learning more about what the wall could look like. officials say they want to build a 30-foot high barrier and it also must run at least six feet underground. adding that they want the wall to be tough to climb over. and nearly impossible to cut through. according to documents, the wall will look more aesthetically pleasing from the north side. the department of homeland security will oversee the project and will eventually patrol and maintain the wall. wall proposals are due to the government by march 29th. ( marty @ landing ) breaking overnight... 3 people are in the trauma center this morning after a shooting in vallejo. it happened at about 10 last night when police received a report of numerous shots fired at the 100 block of westwood street. police say a 27-year-old man and a 26- year-old woman were visiting family when a man approached them and fired multiple rounds. another man was shot in the back of his right thigh as well. all three victims were taken to the trauma

center for treatment for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. police say the victims did not know the shooter and police have not yet identified a motive for the shooting. ( marty @ landing ) a family on the peninsula is mourning after the loss of a father. he was murdered in san francisco while out celebrating with his son after a warriors game. the killer remains on the loose this morning. the family spoke exclusively to kron four's ella sogomonian. it's a story you will only see on kron four. the martinez family is left in the dark with more questions than answers after dad jorge martinez was fatally shot in san francisco's mission district friday just after midnight. "it's really, really hard to put into words how i feel right now. it's your dad, your best friend someone you shared many memories with."it was an evening of celebration for jorge's birthday with his son jesse and jesse's girlfriend. jesse's mom - who remained close friends with

his dad after they split years back - bought them tickets to the warriors game.the three contined their night to their favorite spot - beauty bar on mission and 19th .the two say their dad stepped out for some fresh air before leaving for home.but when they came out to look for him they saw and ambulance drive off and their dad no where in sight. "we went outside and there were police officers everywhere and there was commotion everywhere.""by the time we walked out of beauty bar there was caution tape everywhere we really didn't know what was going on."it was only when they showed up to san francisco general hospital that they learned their dad was shot several times in the back."maybe walking away from whatever argument we don't know but it definitely looked like he was walking away."the martinez family say their dad was an extremely happy and fun loving man.they don't know who did this or why. "not knowing is the hardest thing on top of him not being here anymore." for now they say detectives are looking for surveillence video across several mission district blocks in the area where the shooting happened in hopes of catching a glimpse of

car chase which ended in a busy shopping center on stevens creek boulevard. ( marty ) in the last ten days, there have been five police shootings in the bay area. before the shooting in san jose.... on thursday, antioch police shot a man they say rammed into a police car during a chase. tuesday, fremont police shot and killed a 16-year-old girl in hayward while trying to catch a robber. on monday, a man in napa was shot dead by officers. police say he was threatening people with a knife outside a home depot. and last thursday, santa clara police shot and killed a man. investigators say, he threatened officers. ( marty @ landing ) a big story we are following this morning. five people are under arrest this morning after police say they were involved in a hit-and-run. this happened friday in palo alto . the cyclist remains in the hospital this morning. two of the suspects were arrested shortly after the incident.. while the other three were apprehended saturday morning. this is video of the scene from our partnership with abc 7 news. all 5 suspects were in a

volkswagon toureg around 3:30 friday afternoon. police were trying to stop the car for a vehicle code violation. the car then car sped off, going the wrong way on the 200 block of homer avenue. when officers turned that corner.. the volkswagon was not in sight.. officers instead found an injured cyclist. the victim is in her forties with major injuries but is expected to survive. shooting is honored in a unique way. it's an effort to help his family with funeral expenses. 24-year-old demarcus doss was shot last thursday on interstate 80. he was an aspiring law enforcement officer. kron four's jeff pierce shows us the special event held in his honor. this is the season for basketball tournaments and a special tournament was held on saturday at contra costa college in san pablo.this is the demarcus hero basketball tournament, demarcus the hero basketball tournament.demarcus doss was murdered earlier this month in a drive by shooting on interstate 80 in richmond. the tournament was a fund

raiser to help the family pay for his funeral.they came to me with the idea to have this event to help raise money for the family with expenses and there was no way i could turn them down.it takes something like this to bring everybody together it kind of sad, at the same time it's a great cause to help out a family when a young man went through something terrible, helping them get through the process. for more than five hours ten teams contributed their talents on the basketball court in a trubute to a young man they see as a hero. his heroics were in the last moments in his life when he shielded his female passenger from the fuisilade of bullets that shattered his minivan that evening.it was down in him to protect a woman or protect somebody else, he didn't think about his own life,that says a whole lot about him.it was a senseless violent act so we came to show our support.that support on the college's basketball courts was for a family that the game played a major role

in their lives.our whole family played basketball we're a basketball family so basketball is a way we express ourselves and are feelings. those feelings were evident as the community turned out to watch dozens of his friends play the game that was so intregal to a young man whose life ended too soon.all we can do now is to keep his name alive and represent him in the best way we possibly can. demarcus would love it.in san pablo jeff pierce kron four news ( marty ) the c-h-p says there have been 19 shootings on bay area freeways this year. there were 55 freeway shootings in 2016. this is video from the most recent one that happened in san jose thursday. a 17-year-old passenger was hit by gunfire. the shooter is still on the loose this morning. it happened 11:30 yesterday morning in alameda at the grand marina. the fire started in one docked boat, and spread to two others. fire crews found the dog in the boat with the most fire damage. there were no human injuries. the cause of the fire remains under investigation. ( marty ) in san francisco.... firefighters are looking into what caused an aparment building in chinatown to burst into flames. it happened at 3:30 yesterday morning on waverly placenear portsmouth square. we first brought you this story yesterday on kron four news weekend. firefighters brought it under control in less than an hour. an eldery woman was treated for smoke inhalation. ( marty ) crews have started to demolish the rain damaged bridge along highway one in big sur. rain damaged the bridge. hundreds of people on the other side of that bridge have found themselves cut off with very limited access in and out... kron four's spencer blake explains the process of tearing down the bridge could go on for a long time. pfeiffer canyon bridge was a wobbly mess fridaycrews were

( marty ) hazardous materials crews have finished clearing a mercury spill discovered earlier this week in antioch. this is in the area of manzanita way near sycamore drive. crews found liquid mercury on monday after someone reported a silvery substance in the street. there were no reports of anyone getting sick. there's no word on the source of the mercury but the latest spill is the third in the area since decemeber. crews will be monitoring the area for the next few months. and killed outside of a bar where he worked. kron4's lydia pantazes was at the memorial. nats singing...a community coming together to remember a man who dedicated himself to children in san jose..."a lot of people known him and they really miss him now."john blanco plays baseball for eastridge little league where frank navarro was president. "he was a good president and he will always be with us and to never forget about him." 35-year old frank navarro died after being stabbed near the bar where he worked on february 26th.today parents here today don't want to remember how he died, but the legacy he leaves behind."our league is one of the toughest parts of san jose and we have a lot of struggling families and it was really important for him, if they couldn't afford to pay for registration he would just wipe it away and say we got you."delilah blanco says frank would help players who were struggling pay for items they needed to play,.. "so it was really important for him to have the kids there

because it kept them out of gangs, busy and with getting into any sports it gets you motivated to keep their grades up because he was always on the kids to keep their grades up." ( marty ) it was one of president trump's biggest campaign promises -- building a wall along the border with mexico. now the project is officially requesting bids and we are learning more about what the wall could look like.

officials say they want to build a 30-foot high barrier and it also must run at least six feet underground. adding that they want the wall to be tough to climb over. and nearly impossible to cut through. according to documents, the wall will look more aesthetically pleasing from the north side. the department of homeland security will oversee the project and will eventually patrol and maintain the wall. wall proposals are due to the government by march 29th. music fans around the world are saying goodbye to legendary rock n roll singer chuck berry. the rock and roll pioneer died yesterday at

the age of 90. nichelle turner has more about the berry's life and career. "go, johnny go go."chuck berry was one of the pioneers of rock and roll.(chuck berry playing guitar) his powerful guitar licks fueled hit songs such as "johnny b. goode," "maybellene," and "roll over beethoven."during the fifties and sixties, berry's music signaled a new era in rock and roll. the singer's ability to seamlessly blend r&b and rock music made a strong impact on the beatles and the rolling stones to name a few. "it's very diffiucult to talk about chucker cause i lifted every lick he ever played."berry experienced a career resurgence in the mid eighties and nineties. his music re- entered pop culture in films such as "back to the future" and "pulp fiction." in 1984, berry received the grammy lifetime achievement award and a year later he became the rock and roll hall of fame's first inductee. giving homeless pets a good home. and one shelter in the east bay may have done just that. it happened at the berkeley humane society on 9th street. dozens of people showed up to welcome a new pet into their loving homes. berkeley humane officials say nearly 60 animals were up for adoption. with all their adoption fees waived. they say every kennel is just about vacant this morning. only a few cats are left. the berkeley humane society has served the people and animals of the community since 1895.

concord native chad pascal died of a rare blood disorder ever since then, his family has held a golf tournament in his honor. raising money to help find a cure. kron four's philippe djegal spoke with chad's parents... who spent the day surrounded by friends and family remembering their son. (philippe) nats- golf swings david pascal (pas-kull) thinks about and misses his son chad everyday... on saint patrick's day, he would have turned 35 years-old. chad spent countless hours on the diablo creek golf course in concord...nats- gold swings his home course as a four year member of ygnacio valley high school's golf team... like chad -- this green holds a special place in david's heart.david parscal/chad's dad- "i remember sitting right on this first tee. winning his first golf match, when he was a freshman in high school. and, uh, the coach said, you can't go out on the course, so we hid behind the trees to
