( james ) breaking overnight police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another hospitalized in antioch this morning. it all started around 9:30 last night on the 2700 block of contra loma boulevard. officers were called there to investigate a shooting involving two victims. police say a 22-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. and a 23-year-old man was transported to the hospital in stable condition. police say both victims are from antioch. we'll bring you more details as they enter our newsroom this morning. ( james ) happening today... the heated battle over the g-o-p health care bill will now continue. this after a dramatic turn of events on capitoll hill. congress canceled the vote that was set for yesterday afternoon. white house leaders and house speaker paul ryan told republicans in a closed-door meeting that they are done negotiating.

( james ) now to a story you'll only see here on kron4 news... the mother of the man accused of viciously attacking a woman on bart is now apologizing. now the suspect's mother says her son was off his medication at the time of the attack. she spoke exclusively with kron 4's lydia pantazes. (pkg)"it's really sad.... my heart is so broken, i'm so hurt."felicia cole says she's tried everything to help her son... 23-year old wilbert winchester.he is accused of attacking a 73-year old woman on a bart train wednesday morning.cole heard about the attack on the news... "i'm sorry, that's all i can say is that i'm sorry because that is my son and i know that if in fact he was in his right mind he wouldn't have done that to her."cole says her son is bipolar schizophrenic and says at times he will refuse to take his medication"and it's

sacramento and the invesitgation has led police to the bay area. it all started when police found four bodies in a home. and not long after that discovery, a suspect was taken into custody in san francisco. kron 4's alecia reid has the latest details in the investigation. the victims were discovered after a family member from san francisco called police in sacramento for a welfare check. unfortunately that gut feeling that something was wrong, proved right.at least one person was taken into custody from this building behind me. pkgall day long, investigators have been combing the scene inside this sacramento south land park home. sot - it's real sad. real sad.neighbors are completely shocked that a quadruple homicide happened on this normally quiet block. sot - this is the first time anything like this happened. (in how long?) we've been living here 30 years.police say the 4 victims included a

woman, 2 children, and a relative. neighbors didn't hear any fighting, gunshots, or suspicious behavior overnight. but they woke up to a crime scene and numerous police officers on their street.sot - very disheartening that you never know what's going on next door police say the victims knew their attacker. a neighbor tells us, one of the victims was going through a divorce. it isn't clear if that had anything to do with the gruesome crime. sot - how could you be capable of that? i mean, what is your thought process to where you're so angry with life, why wouldn't you do something to yourself? why take someone else's life? by afternoon san francisco police detained a suspect, and also a woman living on pierce street near alamo square. her connection to the case is unknown, but we spoke with her daughter who says the man taken into custody was her cousin.standupi've been in touch with sacramento p-d.i'm told the suspect remains in san francisco at this hour. that suspect's name has not

( james ) a big story we are following this morning.. two toddlers have been found safe after police found the car they were after it was stolen in cathedral city. the amber alert was issued just before 7:00 last night. the car and the children were found early friday in desert hot springs. the boys are 1-year-old jayden cortez and 2-year-old carlos cortez. police say they have no information on the suspect. the kids were in their baby sitters car when she stepped out and someone stole it. ( james @ bam ) in the east bay... the woman accused of trying to plow into people in a walmart parking lot is now in custody. police arrested 23-year-old jessica malicoat at her home. they were able to identify malicoat after detectives recieved numerous tips from the public. the assault happened at the union city walmart on sunday and it was all caught on camera. police say the woman had just left the store agitated after she wasn't able to return some batteries. in the video you can see a silver honda

accord backing up right into five people. the driver stops and then keeps going. narrowly missing a mother and her three-year-old girl. the toddler was treated for some minor scrapes. police say fortunately no one was seriously hurt because a shopping cart took the brunt of the hit. malicoat is being held at the santa rita jail and is awaiting her arraignment. ( james ) a man is in custody accused of threatening a woman and her young child. it happened at a park in san francisco --- near 4th and howard streets. kron4's hermela aregawi talked to police about why the victim may have been targeted. this is the man police say threatened to shoot a woman and her child.while they were playing in a san francisco park sot officer grace gatpandan, sfpd piothe victims fled the scene because the suspect continued to antagonioze and continued to threaten the victims.and for her safety and the safety of her son she ran away from the scence.a short time later - sfpd spotted 27 year old joshua ruano and determined he

explains, the man is actually from the south bay. the fairfax police departments says that 54-year-old richard thomas williams, who is a "high risk" sex offender, made sexually suggestive comments to several teenage boys here in fairfax earlier this month. according to police, thomas offered the boys money and food to help him wash cars. he also said several inappropriate things which prompted one of the boys to tell his parents about the encounter, and they went to police. sot< chief christopher morin says some suggestive statement and words were made by this person. when the parent came to us we started an investigation.>thomas, who was using an alias at the time, gave one of the teenagers his phone number and the two had exchanged text messages. when police began their investigation, they took over the texting conversation and, posing as one of the boys, agreed to meet up with

thomas at a movie theater.. sot when thomas arrived, investigators followed him and were eventually able to identify who he really was. they also learned that williams has a long criminal history and were in violation of his parole. rather than spending time building a new case against him, fairfax police decided to get him off the streets as quickly as possible and cosot williams, who is considered to be a transient in the san jose area, is currently being held in the santa clara county jail. ( james ) in campbell... police arrested a 20-year-old volunteer coach they say had an ongoing sexual relationship with a student. police say they received information

that nathaniel makeeff may be involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student at westmont high school in san jose. investigators arrested makeeff at his home in campbell. detectives believe this is an isolated incident. ( james ) new details on a deadly domestic dispute from earlier this week... that was when a man confronted his ex-wife with a gun outside her work in redwood city and shot himself in the head. investigators are now saying the man, edward eichen was also shot by police. they say he was nearly simultaneously shot in the chest by a police officer when his own gun went off. police believe that both weapons may have discharged at the same time. police say they are also not sure whether the shot that hit eichen might have caused him to pull the trigger. the officer who shot eichen has been placed on paid administrative leave while they investigate. investigators with the district attorney's office are still waiting for the coroner's report. the front down to serve a search warrant....later coming out with evidence boxes.police say the 26 year old suspect is the man who grabbed a 13 year old girl off this block of forest side avenue in west portal at around 5pm wednesday who pushed her into his car. witnesses heard her screams and were able to pull her out. we've all been down this road in the past where things ended differently and tragically so we know how huge this was that these heroes came and help this young lady get awaypolice say witnesses were able to give responding officers descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving, as well as a partial plate. officers spotted a car matching the description a little more than 5 hours later and kept it under surveillance. eigl was taken into custody as he emerged from the residence he was in and started to drive the vehicle.his mother says this happened after police called looking for her son...saying he was headed to the station

( james @ landing ) in the south bay... city leaders are calling on the community to help with the on-going effort to find housing for people who were displaced when coyote creek flooded in san jose. it has been more than a month since we saw entire neighborhoods in the south bay underwater... forcing thousands to evacuate. now officials estimate close to 500- families are still unable to return home. san jose mayor sam liccardo called on land-lords to make more housing available. saying the city would pay the rent.

( james ) people in fremont are on edge after a woman had a gold chain taken from her while she was walking around her neighborhood. police say a woman called them around 8:30- tuesday night to report that her gold chain was taken. police say while walking on park meadow drive with a friend, a man came out of the bushes and attempted to grab the necklace off her neck. eventually, the woman just gave the man her gold chain, so he would leave them alone. then, that suspect took off in a silver, colored sedan with tinted

the victim's were south asian women, who wear gold as a part of their ( james ) the family of a woman who died after drinking tea purchased from a popular shop in san francisco's china town is now suing that store and the herbalist. officials say yu-ping xie came to the shop in san francisco looking for something to boost her immune system. the herbalist known as doctor chan wrote her a perscription for a tea. but shortly after, her family says she started to feel ill. ( james ) investigators are now learning more about that tea. they say it is made up of 15-different herbs. one of which, if not processed properly can be toxic. an autopsy is now underway to determine the exact cause of death. last night. police say both of the victims are from antioch. the surviving victim is in stable condition this morning. police have not released any details on a possible shooter. ( darya ) four bodies found in a home in sacramento lead to a man being arrested in san francisco. the victims were discovered after a family member from san francisco called police in sacramento asking for a welfare check on their family. police say the four victims include a woman and two children. people who live in the area say they did ánot hear any fighting or gunshots before the bodies were discovered. neighbors say they are shocked that something like this happened in their neighborhood.

san francisco took a person into custody in connection to those four deaths. police have not yet released the suspect's name. ( james ) happening now... police in san jose are investigating how a man died after he was found lying in the middle of a road. he was found last night on north first street and hawthorne way in the city's japan-town neighborhood. the man was un-conscious and not breathing when police arrived. he died at the scene. the santa clara county coroner's office is working to figure out how the man died. his identity will not be released until his family is notified. was arrested at his san francisco home yesterday afternoon. eigl is accused of trying to grab a 13-year-old girl on forest side avenue and trying to put her into his car. witnesses were able to give police a description of the suspect and part of a license plate number. police say the tips helped lead to the arrest. 'lil easy e' is the son of former rapper "easy e." police received reports of a woman being sexually assaulted at the hotel the performers were reportedly staying at. the woman says she fell asleep in a room with people who attended the concert. members of the hotel staff say the alleged assault happened in one of the rooms that was rented by the rapper's group. when she woke up she had hotel personnel call police. ( james ) breaking news from overnight... one person is dead and another is in the hospital after a late night shooting in antioch. it happened on contra loma boulevard just before 9:30 last night. police say both of the victims are from antioch. the surviving victim is in stable condition this morning. police have not released any details on a possible shooter. (darya) an amber alert has been called off and two toddlers are safe after police found the car they were in

when it was stolen. we first broke this story last night on the kron 4 news at 10 p-m. this happened in cathedral city in the palm springs area just before 7:00 last night. the 1 and 2- year-old boys were in their baby sitters car when she stepped out and someone stole it. but that car has been recovered and the kids are safe. police have not released any information on the person who stole the car. ( james ) breaking news we are following this morning... two people arrested overnight connected to the deadly terror attack in london. we are also learning new information about the attacker. investigators say his birth name was adrian russell ajao. yesterday he was identified as 52-year-old khalid masood. right now 9 people are in custody in connection to the attack that killed 4 people and injured 50 others. two of the victims are still in critical condition this morning. (james) a big story we are following this morning... the mother of a man who was arrested for attempting to kidnap a 13-year-old girl is speaking out this morning. (darya) the incident happened in san francisco on wednesday night when police say the man tried to throw the girl in the trunk of his car. kron4's maureen kelly talked to the suspects mother as police were searching her home for evidence. you feel like the worst mother in the world. really? that's not a fair question. is it a surprise to you? yeah yeah every single person i talk to his brother his brother his best friend was like what? yeah no no i just knew i was housing a closet rapist in my house yeah.the mother of kidnapping suspect lee mason eigl angry and sarcastic when asked for her reaction to her son's arrest.bang bang bang gail eigl came home to her sunset district home after police had already broken in the front down to serve a

search warrant....later coming out with evidence boxes.police say the 26 year old suspect is the man who grabbed a 13 year old girl off this block of forest side avenue in west portal at around 5pm wednesday who pushed her into his car. witnesses heard her screams and were able to pull her out. we've all been down this road in the past where things ended differently and tragically so we know how huge this was that these heroes came and help this young lady get awaypolice say witnesses were able to give responding officers descriptions of the suspect and the vehicle he was driving, as well as a partial plate. officers spotted a car matching the description a little more than 5 hours later and kept it under surveillance. eigl was taken into custody as he emerged from the residence he was in and started to drive the vehicle.his mother says this

professor also told the woman that they were going to be lovers. the director at the research center on campus says searle has had sexual relationships with this students in exchange for academic benefits. the lawsuit comes as there have been several sexual assault allegations against u-c berkeley staff in recent years. the university has not yet commented on the lawsuit. ( james ) police in campbell arrested a 20- year-old volunteer coach they say had an ongoing sexual relationship with a student. police say they received information that nathaniel makeeff may be involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student at westmont high school in san jose. investigators arrested makeeff at his home in campbell. detectives are working closely with the school district but believe this is an isolated incident. ( darya ) a man is now in custody accused of threatening to shoot a woman and her child inside a san francisco park.... and police are now investigating it as a hate crime. it happened at a park on fourth and howard streets. police say 27- year-old joshua ruano is

accused of threatening the woman who was wearing a head scarf. they say he was making anti-muslim threats towards the woman and her toddler son. the mother and child say they left the park when ruano kept threatening them. he is now in custody and the district attorney is considering terrorist charges. doing a better job at getting passengers to their destinations on time... but a new report says they are leaving thousands of standby passengers at the gate. (james) the head of the pilots' union says nearly 20-thousand passengers were denied boarding in february even though there were empty seats on the flights. (darya) the airline has been trying to improve its on-time performance... and they are accused of leaving standby passengers to make sure flights take off on time. american airlines ranked eighth among the nation's largest 12 airlines at on-time arrivals in 2016... but rose to third in january. received several tips from the public. the assault happened at the union city walmart on sunday and it was all caught on camera. police say the woman had just left the store agitated after she wasn't able to return some batteries. in the video you can see a silver honda accord backing up right into five people. the driver stops and then keeps going. a toddler was treated for some minor scrapes. police say fortunately no one was seriously hurt because a shopping cart took the brunt of the hit. malicoat is the santa rita jail and is awaiting her arraignment. ( james ) new details on a deadly domestic dispute from earlier this week... that was when a man confronted his ex-wife with a gun outside her work in redwood city and shot himself in the head. investigators are now saying the man, who's been identified as edward eichen, was also shot by police. they say he was simultaneously shot in the chest by an officer as his own gun went off. they also say the shot that
