é ( james ) now for a story you'll see only on kron 4. a mother and daughter rushed to a san francisco police station after watching our report about a man suspected of posing as a nurse.. san francsco police say he treated close to thirty patients.. which may include a 12- year-old girl who said she felt even worse after he gave her a pill. kron 4's ella sogomonian has the exclusive interview. this mom was in tears and outraged she tells me her daughter had attended the san francisco city impact school since she was in kindergarden but she recently pulled her

out after she felt her daughter was no longer safe - and says tonight's allegations toward a volunteer confirmed her beliefs.39-year-old chad brian litz worked as a volunteer nurse practicioner at san francisco city impact since 2013.today he was arrested and charged for alledgely practicing medicine without a license and identity theft.litz now faces five felony counts.the mother and daughter who is 12-years-old want to go unnamed but are both disturbed by the news. saying litz treated the child last november - they say he gave her a pill when she had a stomach ach without informing a parent - afterwhich she felt worse almost cancelling her birthday party."he didn't tell me what it was his back was turned behind. all he said was here take this and you'll feel better and i'm thinking in my head, should i? like, i don't know. this was the first time that was one half of my saying that but the other half was saying oh wait i should trust him because he is a usf medical student.""this school has a lot of volunteers coming in and out. they're saying

headlines. but new documents reveal some insight into the past of sherri papini. ali wolf has the new details. nats file)a young mother of two..branded, beaten and left on the side of the freeway, after disappearing for three weeks....little is known about sherri papini's life since investigators say she was abducted by two hispanic woman near her redding area home.the case made national headlines last november... (mark reichel - defense attorney)"there's a phrase that no information is often chased by misinformation. theyre not putting a lot out there" information from papini's past has now surfaced...according to documents obtained by fox40 - sherri papini is no stranger to law enforcement.on october 1st, 2000 - reports show, the shasta county sheriffús office responded to a call from sheila graeff - who said her sister sherri, tried to break into her home.an hour later... a call saying papini was vandalizing her parents home. in 2003... when papini was 21 - her mother called the

kidnapping is a hoax. ( james ) an east palo alto man is facing felony animal cruelty charges after police found evidence of a cockfighting operation at his home. the peninsula humane society displayed some of the evidence including the razor sharp knives which are attached to the bird's feet. along with vitamins, anti- biotics and other cockfighting paraphenalia. tipped off by a neighbor, police and animal control found one dead rooster and a number of injured birds at a home on cypress street. all 56 of them were euthanized. identified as aldenni de jesus santiago. the humane society says, the motivation for cockfighting is gambling. officials says such operations are taken down an average of three to four times a year. ( james ) a jury convicts a discovery bay man in the 20- 15 murder of nine- year old jordan almgren. almgren was sleeping in his bed at the time of the brutal killing. it was then when william schultz entered his room and repeatedly stabbed him. prosecutors argued schultz planned out the murder. and weighed his chances of getting away with it. it was on that basis, the jury delivered a first degree murder conviction. it took the jury just 45 minutes to reach a verdict. ( james ) in the east bay.. a quiet neighborhood in hayward was the target of thieves following mail delivery services. but residents with surveillance

cameras quickly notified police who showed up in time to make an arrest. a man and a woman have been taken into police custody after they were caught stealing packages from the front porch of several homes. police surrounded their car on welford circle when they arrived. further investigation led them to discover the car they were in had been reported stolen. police returned the packages to their owners and impounded the stolen vehicle. banned from speaking any other language besides english while working even in the break room. under the fair employment and housing act, employers cannot enforce "english -only" rules unless there is a need for it. a 'forever 21' spokesperson did not have a comment on the lawsuit. but did say, the company is committed to diversity and inclusion. ( james ) a story you'll see only on kron four ... animal experts say giraffe's experience the same aches and pains we do as we get older. and, they say, a chiropractor is a convenient way to get the kinks out without overloading the animal with medicine. kron four's philippe djegal visits the oakland zoo... for an in- depth look at how giraffes power through physical therapy. (philippe)nats- "a little bit more sweetheart. there we go." at 25 years-old... this reticulated giraffe from kenya named mosi (moe-see) is considered elderlynats- "there we go mose." a few years ago... her keepers at the oakland zoo noticed her stretching oddly... and,

realized her back and pelvis were stiff and could use chiropractor.betsey carpenter/chiropractor- "i use this thing called motion palpation and so we put the joint through its normal range of motion and wherever it's restricted, that's where i know it needs to be adjusted. nats- "and, she's tolerating that pretty well." for at least two years now... certified animal chiropractor betsey carpenter has treated mosie... one of eight giraffe's at the zoo.betsey carpenter/chiropractor- "this is how we determine how the vertabra are fixed, so i'm just kind of moving it back and forth like that. this is my biggest diagnostic tool besides observation."bridge betsey flies out from her home base in new mexico to work with the giraffes about twice a month. she says this isn't corrective care, but rather to improve the giraffe's quality of life. betsey carpenter/chiropractor- "so that while she's here on the planet, she'll be able to get around and do what giraffes do, and um, have a better experience."nats- "take your time, good girl." the physical therapy is done in a back holding area. on her own time, mosi stands in a

shoot with hatches and doors so betsey and the giraffe keepers can access her without getting hurt. to better reach mosie betsey uses a metal device to loosen up the animal's muscles and joints. betsey carpenter/chiropractor- '"im using a lot of force inward, but it does look like combing. you can't see the amount of pressure that i'm actually using. i'm using as much as she'll tolerate and as much as i can provide." the sessions can last anywhere from five to 15 minutes... and, when the work is done... mosi can walk on stage for zoo guests to enjoy in the exhibit...jessica real/giraffe keeper- "it makes our giraffe more comfortable and that is gonna provide a healthier, longer life. we really try to avoid using medication as long as we can, if we can handle her pain and ailments any other way, than that's definitely our first choice." giraffe's don't get the same level of exercise in captivity as they would in the wild. so, betsey says managing soreness through a chiropractor helps...betsey carpenter/chiropractor- "i'm so blessed that i get the opportunity to be here and do this. i feel incredibly

( rebecca ) officials say a burning candle is responsible for the fire. four people were killed when that fire broke out monday morning on san pablo avenue. nearly 100 others are still without a home this morning. the red cross and salvation army have been helping out. and people who live in the community have been donating clothing and other items to those who lost everything right now, victims are staying at the west oakland youth center. people who were living in the building before the fire say the old

apartment building had defective sprinklers, smoke detectors, and alarms. the building was run by urojas (u-row-haus) community services and served as a halfway house for people who live in oakland. back to you. ( darya ) a man is behind bars this morning for a triple shooting in san francisco that killed one woman. 65-year-old lian xui wu was shot and killed on wednesday morning. it happened in the oceanview neighborhood near broad street and plymouth avenue. a short time later, police arrested 24- year-old jonathan santos from vallejo. he is accused of shooting and killing xui wu while she was walking to a bus stop. neighbors say this is the third deadly shooting in that same area within the past six months. ( darya ) two other people were injured in the shooting, but

are expected to survive. xui wu's family has started a go-fund-me account to help with funeral expenses... you can find the link on kron-4-dot-com. ( mark ) in the east bay... police are still looking for two suspects who robbed an elderly couple at gunpoint in the driveway of their home. it happened in moraga on wednesday night on indian wells street. police say the couple was returning home from a family dinner when two men approached them with a gun in their driveway. the thieves stole the woman's purse and then pushed her husband to the ground before running away. the couple is in their seventies and they live among other senior citizens in the community behind the moraga country club. neighbors say they are now worried it could happen to them. ( mark ) police only have a vague

( darya ) we are now learning more about the man killed in a fire inside an apartment in walnut creek. he was a world war two veteran. firefighters were called to the manor senior apartments around 6-30 wednesday evening after reports of an explosion inside an apartment. crews were able to get the man out of the home ... but he eventually died at the hospital. he has been identified as 92-year-old wesley peters... neighbors say, they knew him as "wes" and are devastated by his death.

( mark ) a major development in the investigation into russian interference in the u-s election. former national security adviser michael flynn is willing to testify before federal and congressional investigators. but only if he is granted immunity. that's according to flynn's attorney. members of congress say they have not yet received a direct request from flynn. flynn was forced to resign as one of president trump's closest advisers... after it came out that he had misled vice president mike pence about his communications with the russian ambassador to the u-s. ( rebecca ) 39-year-old brian litz was arrested yesterday and charged for practicing medicine without a license and identity theft. police say he treated close to 30 patients, working as a nurse practicioner at "san francisco city impact" for the

past four months. a mother and daughter spoke to kron four saying he gave the 12- year-old girl a pill for a stomach ach that made her feel worse. they did not want to show their faces on camera.

home. the peninsula humane society displayed some of the evidence including the razor sharp knives which are attached to the bird's feet. along with vitamins, antibiotics and other cockfighting paraphenalia. police and animal control were tipped off by a neighbor. they found one dead rooster and a number of injured birds at a home on cypress street. all 56 of the birds had to be euthanized. ( darya ) a jury convicts a discovery bay man in the 20- 15 murder of nine- year old jordan almgren. almgren was sleeping in his bed at the time of the brutal killing. that's when william schultz entered his room and repeatedly stabbed him. prosecutors argued schultz planned out the murder. and weighed his chances of getting away with it. it was on that basis, the jury delivered a first degree murder conviction. it took the jury just 45 minutes to reach a verdict. ( mark ) two women wanted for stealing cosmetics from a drug store in concord have struck again... this time in vacaville. we first told you about these women yesterday. now police in vacaville think the same women stole more than 4-thousand dollars worth of makeup from the walgreens store on alamo drive. this is a surveillance image from the store in concord. the women were last seen driving a maroon chevrolet impala with no license plates. are getting new information about the events that lead up to a deadly bus crash in texas that killed 13 people. it turns out that other drivers had called police to report an erratic pickup truck just minutes before that truck swerved into oncoming traffic and hit the bus. 13- church members and the driver were on their way home from a church retreat when the accident happened. the bus driver survived but is in critical condition. police are still trying to figure out why the bus was driving erratically. the community behind the moraga country club. neighbors say they are now worried it could happen to them. ( darya ) police only have a vague description of the men... saying they are hispanic and in their twenties. they hope one of the homes in the neighborhood will have surveillance video that will help track the thieves down. ( mark ) we are now learning more about the man killed in a fire inside an apartment in walnut creek. he was a world war two veteran. firefighters were called to the manor senior apartments around 6-30 wednesday evening after reports of an explosion inside an apartment. crews were able to get the man out of the home ... but he eventually died at the hospital. he has been identified as 92-year-old wesley peters... neighbors say, they knew him as "wes" and are devastated by his death.

( darya ) a quiet neighborhood in hayward was the target of package thieves yesterday. but people with surveillance cameras called police who caught the thieves in the act. a man and a woman have been taken

( will )police have released this sketch of the man. they say the first incident happened on monday when the man exposed himself to the 19-year-old woman while she was walking in westmoor park. then on wednesday police say the same man exposed himself to a 12-year-old girl on mariposa avenue. the man was last seen driving a silver or gold 2003 toyota camry with a sticker on the driver side of the rear bumper.

( mark ) a major development in the investigation into russia's meddling in the u-s election.( darya ) former national security adviser michael flynn is willing to testify before congressional investigators.... but there's a catch. rebecca strom is here with the story. ( rebecca @ land ) michael flynn says he will testify in congress' ongoing probe into russian meddling in us elections only if he is granted immunity. that's according to flynn's attorney. members of congress say they have not yet received a direct request from flynn. flynn has been critical of people seeking immunity in the past. during an interview on "meet the press" last year he made comments about hillary clinton's staffers seeking immunity:

( darya ) a massive fire caused a bridge along a busy atlanta interstate to collapse. now...the governor of georgia has declared a state of emergency. it happened around 7 last night during rush hour. plumes of smoke could be seen for miles and covered the city's skyline. officials report the flames reached up to at least 40 feet high. ( darya ) no injuries have been reported.

the cause of the fire is still under investigation. ( mark ) this morning we are getting new information about the events that lead up to a deadly bus crash in texas that killed 13 people. it turns out that other drivers had called police to report an erratic pickup truck just minutes before that truck swerved into oncoming traffic and hit the bus. 13- church members and the driver were on their way home from a church retreat when the accident happened. the bus driver survived but is in critical condition. police are still trying to figure out why the truck was driving erratically. ( rebecca ) of the one- thousand people surveyed, more than 40-percent say they are considering moving. high housing prices, the cost of living, and an increasing battle with traffic are among the reasons people want to leave. bay area council president jim wunderman says, the majority of people looking for a new place to live, are millenials. he says that is especially concerning since the younger generation is a driving force for the bay area's economy.
