according to concord police, between saturday 9pm and 10am sunday, tires on over 20- vehicles were slashed in the area of denkinger court, armand drive and dianda drive sotwilliam robinson/tire slashing victim: "20 vehicles? come on now, this is a hard working community. everybody goes to work in this neighborhood. everybody leaves early in the morning and then to find out the vehicles have been vandalized is just wrong, you know? i hope he is caught." william robinson says this the 2nd time in the last four years that his tires were slashed outside of his home. the previous incident motivated him to purchase surveillance cameras. now he hopes someone out there recognizes the person in this video before he slashes any more tires.sotwilliam robertson/tire slashing victim: "i hope he is caught"if you think you recognize the person in this video concord police would like to hear from you. in concord haaziq madyun kron4news (jrs) a vallejo man arrested last week - in a shooting that left one woman

dead and two others injured - has been released from police custody. officers arrested 24-year-old jonathan santos just minutes after the deadly shooting - that happened in san francisco's oceanview neighborhood. the shooting killed 65-year- old lian wu, a neighborhood resident who had been walking to a bus stop at the time. two men were also injured. santos was intially booked into jail - without bail on suspicion of murder... but has now been released without charges pending further investigation. (vicki) police are investigating after a toddler drowned in a concord swimming pool yesterday. we are now learning more about the 1- year-old girl who was killed. the child has been identified as molly scott from walnut creek. the toddler was originally reported missing by relatives. when police arrived to the residence they found the one- year-old unconscious in the backyard swimming pool. the toddler did not live at the home on leland way where she was found. officers performed cpr until paramedics arrived, however the child was

pronounced dead at the hospital. the pool is surrounded by a tall fence. police do not yet know how the child got through the barrier. (jrs) police are searching for a gunman - who shot and killed a man over the weekend in antioch. police say 23- year-old david pearson died after being shot on k street last night. officers were called to the area after someone heard gunshots. that's when they found pearson on the ground with at least one gunshot wound. he was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery. he died though a short time later. police are still investigating the shooting and have not yet released a suspect discription. (jrs) happening tomorrow... the man accused of drugging and sexually assualting a 13- year-old girl is set to make his first court appearance. 50-year-old timothy marble is facing nearly a dozen felony charges. it started over the weekend when deputies responded to a call in bodega bay. that's where they say marble told them his passenger had jumped out of

his car while it was moving. they discovered the girl in the bushes, who claimed marble had raped her. the girl told deputies she had run away from home on thursday, and was picked up by marble at a gas station in the middle of the night. an arrest report says marble tied the girl to a tree in the country and sexually assaulted her. detectives say marble carved his own name into the girls skin with a knife. deputies also say marble convinced the girl to take meth, and injected her with it. marble is due in sonoma county court tomorrow afternoon. (vicki) we now know what caused a multi-car crash that injured 14 people and shut down part of highway 4 in antioch - over the weekend. this happened around 6:00 saturday night on the westbound lanes of highway four, between the 'a' street and hillcrest off-ramps. c-h-p says a toyota sedan, with 7 people inside stopped on the highway behind a bumper that was in the roadway. that's when a minivan with three people inside hit it, setting off a chain-reaction crash. four people were airlifted to the hospital.

one of them, a 14-year old girl remains in critical condition. (jrs) moving to the south bay... we now know the name of the man who died in a traffic collision that also injured a 10-year-old girl. police have identified the driver as bornking moseley. the crash happened friday morning in san jose on park avenue, just west of the downtown business district . officers say mosley's vehcile crashed into the back of a big-rig. he died at the scene - and the young girl escaped with only minor injuries. the driver of the big-rig remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation. (vicki) a hike in gas taxes and vehicle fees in the state of california - cleared a major hurdle today. a california senate panel advanced a proposal - that would fix roads across the state that have been damaged by recent storms. the measure would increase the price of gas 12 cents over a ten-year period. this would help state officials raise the 52-billion-dollars needed to fix california's damaged roads and bridges. there would also be a fee on vehicles... governor

jerry brown is expected to discuss the proposal tomorrow with other lawmakers. bay now.... and more evidence that the wet winter has put the drought in the rear view mirror.(vicki) the san jose city council declaring an end to a city wide water supply shortage. kron four's rob fladeboe joins us live with details on what that means. rob? im here at bramhall park in willow glen where the grass is looking lush and green as a result of all the rain and it's gong to stay that way for while because there is going to be more water available for irrigation this summer. at the same time, homeowners will be able to keep their lawns green too. reflecting improved water supply conditions from unusually heavy rains this past winter, the san jose city council has halted the 20- percent cutbacks on water use

imposed last year, which means there are no longer any restrictions on the days residents may water their lawns or landscapes."yes, people can water their lawns and plant their vegetable gardens but they should still be careful to set those sprinklers for early in the morning or in the evening in order to get the most efficient use of that water..." while it brings to an end the restrictions imposed during the drought, the new declaration nonetheless encourages continued water- efficiency practices. that means no outdoor irrigation between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. without the use of a bucket,

(jrs) happening now... a family in the east bay is asking for a hit-and-run driver who killed their loved one - to turn themselves in. the incident happened - last thursday on 85th avenue in oakland. a vigil was held yesterday for 50-year-old larry mendes. he was on his way to visit his family when he stopped to help a friend who was having an electrical problem with an r-v. mendes was kneeling next to the r-v when the driver hit him and drove away (jrs) a 10- thousand dollar reward is now being offered to anyone with information leading to an arrest. (vicki) a new study suggests that a california law granting driver's licenses to hundreds of thousands of

people in the country illegally has reduced the likelihood of some collisions. researchers at stanford university estimated that granting the driver-only licenses appears to have reduced hit-and-run crashes. this saved insured drivers about $17 million that they would have absorbed from at-fault drivers fleeing collisions to avoid possible arrest and deportation. the study was published by the proceedings of the national academy of sciences. (jrs) applications from international students to the university of california have fallen for the first time in 12 years. the decline follows more than a decade in which the number of international applications rose by an average of 21 percent a year. it also coincides with the election of president trump. applications from mexico plunged by 30 percent. countries with large populations of muslims collectively sent in 10 percent fewer applications. admissions officials say the perception among foreign

just minutes before a crash that left 13 seniors in a church bus - dead. (vicki) the incident happened last week in a rural part of texas - and witnesses now say the driver was texting. from our partners at cnn ... josh skurnik shows us the new video. the video showed the white dodge pickup swerving side to side on u.s. 83. jody kuchler called the real county sheriff's office dispatch as his girlfriend took the video. "both of our concerns was him hitting somebody head-on. i was more worried about him hitting kids," kuchler said. after tailing the truck for a half hour, kuchler never imagined it would hit a bus full of senior citizens returning from a bus retreat. he said he saw the whole thing and tried to help."the man in the front seat passenger side, he's got, caught his eyes, looked at me. i was walking up, and then he looked back down to the floorboard and he

(jrs) fox's bill o'reilly is being accused of sexual harrassment by wendy walsh. today, the former fox guest and her attorney held a press conference. they're calling for an independent investigation on fox news. back in 2013 she says o'reilly got angry when she refused to go back with him to his hotel room. walsh's regular segment on o'reilly show was canceled following the indicent. the new york times says the political commentator recently settled with five different women who had similar claims. lisa bloom/walsh's attorney: "apparently fox news does not think that the anti-

(vicki) and the judge in bill cosby's sex assault trial must decide whether the jury can hear cosby's decade-old testimony. about buying drugs to give women before sex. the philadelphia judge won't let the jury hear from a woman...who say's cosby gave her quaaludes...a sedative drug, back in the 19- 70's. however...the judge says that doesn't mean prosecutors can't use cosby's own words on the topic. prosecutors say cosby's testimony from the trial accuser's lawsuit shows his familiarity with date-rape drugs. the 79-year-old comedian, is accused of drugging and molesting a temple university employee in 2004.

governors proposed gas tax is in the fast lane for approval. just last week governor brown proposed a massive 52 billion dollar plan to fix california's crumbling roads. part of that plan is a 12 cent a gallon gas tax and hike in vehicle fees. today the plan passed one hurdle... but there are more to clear before an important deadline this week. we will break it all down in just a few minutes on kron 4 news at six. (vicki) stephanie elam takes us to the sierra and shows us how much has changed. natsfrank gehrke/california department of water resources: "we're still kind of running out of superlatives to describe how big of a snowpack we have."in the sierra nevada mountains exists california's largest water resource.called the snowpack, it has layers of snow.during the warmer months, the snow begins to melt and that water filters down the mountain and into our rivers - eventually, providing water for the state. after several years of drought, this winter brought storm after storm, coating the mountain range in dense snow.natsin 2015, it was quite a different picture. frank gehrke/california department of water resources: "california winters are very changeable."there is now so much snow at about nine- thousand feet and higher, that we couldn't even return to where we visited the snowpack in 2015. frank gehrke/california department of water resources:"we're looking at probably not having the road open until maybe mid july."at this time of the year

swimming pool yesterday. we're now learning more about the 1-year-old girl that was killed. the child was identified as molly scott from walnut creek. the toddler was originally reported missing by relatives. when police arrived to the residence they found the one- year-old unconscious in the backyard swimming pool. the toddler did not live at the home on leland way where she was found. officers performed cpr until paramedics arrived, however the child was pronounced dead at the hospital. the pool is surrounded by a tall fence. police do not yet know how the child got through the barrier. supply conditions from unusually heavy rains this past winter, the san jose city council has halted the 20- percent cutbacks on water use imposed last year, which means there are no longer any restrictions on the days residents may water their lawns or landscapes."yes, people can water their lawns and plant their vegetable gardens but they should still be careful to set those sprinklers for early in the morning or in the evening in order to get the most efficient use of that water..." while it brings to an end the restrictions imposed during the drought, the new declaration nonetheless encourages continued water- efficiency practices. that means no outdoor irrigation between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. without the use of a bucket, handheld container or hose with a shutoff nozzle. and there will be more water for parks.dave vossbrink/city of san jose"during the drought we cut back water use in our parks by 40 percent, that was

we now know the identity of a man who was killed in a crash that injured his 10- year-old daughter in san jose. 41-year-old bornking moseley was killed when the pontiac firebird he was driving ran into a big rig on park avenue. it happened on friday morning. police say it appears that a big-rig was going westbound on park and had just made a left onto mcevoy when the firebird slammed into the bed of the truck. officers say moseley was killed on impact. his daughter escaped with only minor injuries. the fatal crash was san jose's 11th so far this year. new at 6. a man wanted on suspicion of attempted murder was arrested after firing shots at another vehicle during a road-rage incident in morgan hill. police say alexander monzon of
