( james ) we are following breaking news out of vacaville where three people have been shot. it happened around 11-50 last night outside a home on aegean way. police found one woman, one man and one child with gun-shot wounds. all three have been taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. police have set up a perimeter and are now searching for the shooter. ( james ) breaking news from overnight... the bellagio hotel and casino in las vegas bursts into flames. this is new video from the scene overnight. the fire broke out just before 11:00 last night. a large portion of the las vegas strip was closed down. you can huge flames shooting from the building. the fire is out now. there are no reports of any injuries. crews are still trying to figure out how the fire started.

( james ) a family's emotional trip to san francisco turns into a nightmare. a mother and daughter were in the city to spread the ashes of their loved one. but the remains were stolen from their rental car. kron 4's alecia reid spoke to the women who are desperate to get the ashes back. joe wilkinson's family never had a chance to say goodbye because he died suddenly. sprinkling his ashes in the redwood national park on his 57th birthday would have been their tribute to him. unfortunately they're mourning another loss.pkg" the most important thing is to get his remains back bcuz i'll tell ya, i'll never let them go" mary and julia wilkinson didn't think for a second, that after landing in their loved one's favorite city, his ashes would be stolen within hours."i feel horrible. i feel like a part of him is missing and i did it. he was under my watch and i had no idea there was a problem with car breakins here"the mother and daughter duo parked their rental car inside the anchorage square parking structure then headed out to eat one of his favorite fares in san franciscodungenous crab. by the time they got

say an extensive search turned up nothing.reporting in san francisco ( james ) police made an arrest connected to a freeway shooting in the south bay. 33-year-old jose luis blanco was arrested at his home in unincorporated san jose. he's accused of opening fire march 16th on northbound highway 101 near story road. a 17-year-old boy, sitting in the front passenger seat of a car, was struck by bullets in the face and back. the shooting was investigated as gang- related. police also found two firearms and meth inside the suspect's home. ( james ) damage is estimated at one- million dollars and a dog is missing after a house fire in cupertino. the flames

broke out in a two- story home on flora vista avenue, earlier last night. this is video from our helicopter partnership with abc-7. no word on what started the fire. ( james ) a therapy dog, missing for nearly two weeks is back home. and a young boy couldn't he happier. the two have a special bond. the boy suffers from emotional separation deficiency called "vanishing twin syndrome. kron 4's lydia pantazes shows us where the four- legged friend was found. (nats) they were apart two weeks.... but for this dog named finn and his family.... that was two weeks, too long. everyday... 11-year carson bates and is family searched. "where could he be, what is he doing? we were trying to find him and we were asking everywhere, driving everywhere." you see for carson, finn isn't just a dog... "he's basically my brother, because i was going to have a twin brother but he never came out of the womb." carson was diagnosed with vanishing twin syndrome at age

two, an emotional separation deficiency. "finn is what solved that problem for him, it helped him have the loyalty and love to end to no end to help him bridge the gap with that deficiency that he had of losing his twin before he was born." the two have been inseparable for five the last five years. "he's basically my entire heart, he broke it it when he got away but made it bigger when he came back." finn was found wandering near a creek about two miles from his home. he lost about ten pounds and came back with an injured paw. (nats) finding finn was a community effort... (nats) from search parties to facebook pages. a whole community came together to reunite a boy and his best friend. "he's an amazing pup, i can't believe that he survived all he did and came out with only a few battle wounds, i'm so happy he's home."

( james ) new information on the doctor who was violently dragged out of a united airlines plane. doctor david dao's daughter and attorneys held a news conference saying that the 69-year-old suffereda concussion and a broken nose as well as a couple of broken teeth. he also has damage to his sinuses and might need reconstructive surgery. he also says he has a great deal of emotional trauma... thomas demetrio/attorney for united airlines passenger david dao: "dr. dao, to i

( james ) happening now... the santa rosa police department is looking for a man charged with multiple sex crimes who failed to appear in court last month. 36-year-old darius bunyad has been found guilty of six felonies and six misdemeanor charges.. police say he was there for most of the two-week trail but did not show up for the last two days. bunyad was reportedly last seen by his family on march 8th in the walnut creek area. a reward of 25 hundred dollars is being offered for information that leads to his arrest. ( james ) a san francisco man is back in custody after threatening his neighbors.

but not before officials say he left behind racial slurs and threats plastered all over his window. not far from a school. kron4's hermela aregawi has reaction from neighbors. ( james ) a fire to a homeless encapment under interstate- 880 in oakland caused problems during the morning commute. we first told you about this story on the kron 4 morning news yesterday. a dog was killed in the fire. this was the scene between 22nd and 23rd avenues. investigators believe the fire may have been sparked by someone trying to cook. ( james @ landing ) a search is underway for this woman janet mejia who was last

seen tuesday in north sacramento county. she is a recent college graduate... rowena shaddox talked to the missing woman's sister. 11:45-52 daisy mejia, janet's older sister"there's so many emotions. we hope for the best... and we pray that she's okay."it's been two days since anyone has seen daisy mejiaús younger sister, janet. the 28-year-old sac state grad was last seen by her roommate around 9 a.m. tuesday at their apartment complex near elkhorn and walerga in sacramento. when janet failed to show up for a doctor's appointment in stockton later that day, her roommate started calling her cellphone. with no answer, the roommate reported her missing tuesday night.55:48-58 sgt. tony turnbull, sac so "this is not common for her to go missing, to disappear like this. to not be in contact with family, which she's usually in contact with every day. sacramento county sheriff sgt. tony turnbull says for that reason, they ramped up their investigation and entered her car's license

( james ) happening today... a showdown in federal court in san francisco between santa clara county and the trump administration. the county has filed a lawsuit challenging an executive order aimed at withholding federal money from so- called sanctuary communities. santa clara county supervisor dave cortese and other community leaders.. all gathered to stand behind the lawsuit. it argues the

constitution does not give the president the power to use state and local governments as tools to implement its policies. ( james ) if federal funds are withheld, among the hardest hit services would be those provided by valley medical center, which recieves 70 percent of it's funding from the government. the cuts would hit social services, mental health providers and schools. other bay area cities have also filed lawsuits. ( james ) first it was santa cruz, and now it's the peninsula. and if you add sting ray deaths, oakland too. several sea animals have

been showing up dead on bay area beaches. these small, dead sharks were found washed up yesterday morning near bay trails in redwood city, foster city and san mateo. dead sting rays are being reported in oakland's lake merrit. experts say similar reports are coming in every day. and it's not clear why all the marine life is washing up. ( james ) another big story we are following this morning... it's known as "the mother of all bombs"... the most powerful non- nuclear bomb in the u-s arsenal. and it was used for the first time on the battle field by the united states. the military dropped the 22-thousand pound "mo-ab" explosive on isis in afghanistan. as stacey cohan reports, although president trump is ánotá saying whether he ordered the strike he is supporting the decision. president trump: "we are so proud of our military, it was another successful event." president trump praised the u.s. military after it used its most powerful non-nuclear

( james ) in san francisco... a ceremony was held on the golden gate bridge to announce approval for construction of a new suicide deterrent system. golden gate bridge officials plan to build a safety barrier along the bridge. and although the new barrier is designed to prevent someone from committing suicide, it will not prevent someone from getting hurt. the

construction will cost $204 - million dollars. cal-trans, the m-t-c, and the bridge district will cover the bulk of that cost. installation of the net will begin in 2018. and is scheduled to be complete in 2021. quite the scare when they were stuck on a roller coaster for hours. it happened last night on a ride called the joker's jinx. twenty-four people were stuck one-hundred feet off the ground. it took about five hours for firefighters to rescue all of them. six flags said in a statement that the ride stopped on a safe place along the track. the ride is closed while the amusement park investigates what caused this to happen. ( james ) one person is dead and three others are wounded following a shooting on an atlanta train. police say they have someone in custody. it happened yesterday afternoon when the train was stopped at a station. police closed that station while they were investigating the shooting. the suspect and the victims are all in their 30's. more people have been using the trains in atlanta since a bridge on interstate 85 collapsed two weeks ago. that part of the highway is still closed. ( mark ) the main spillway on oroville's dam... is set to reopen today the spillway was closed when erosion damaged it back in february. that forced officials to use an emergency spillway instead. but when they discovered erosion had also damaged that spillway, authorities realized the levee could break.

( mark ) police make an arrest connected to a freeway shooting in the south bay. 33-year-old jose luis blanco was arrested at his home in san jose. he's accused of opening fire on northbound highway 101 near story road last month. a 17-year-old boy, sitting in the front passenger seat of a car, was shot in the face and back. the shooting was investigated as gang- related. police also found two firearms and meth- ampetamine inside the blanco's home. < i hate to think that he was

( james ) some people at a six flags in maryland had quite the scare when they were stuck on a roller coaster for hours. it happened last night on a ride called the joker's jinx. twenty-four people were stuck one-hundred feet off the ground. it took about five hours for firefighters to rescue all of them. six flags said in a statement that the ride stopped on a safe place along the track. the ride is closed while the amusement park investigates what caused this to happen. ( james ) one person is dead and three others are wounded following a shooting on an atlanta train. police say they have someone in custody. it happened yesterday afternoon when the train was stopped at a station. the gunman and the victims are all in their 30's. more people have been using the trains in atlanta since a bridge on interstate 85 collapsed two weeks ago.
