(catherine) an audit of the university of california system has resulted in a troubling accusation against its administrators --- that they 'hid' lots of money from the public. california's auditor says top administrators hid 175-million dollars from thepublic and lawmakers in a secret reserve fund... and they did it, according to the report, even while raising tuition and asking thestate for more money. the scathing report was released today....saying that u-c president janet napolitano's office created the undisclosed budget over four years - so the money could be spent with little or no oversight. napolitano denies the claim.... she argues the true amount of money in reserve is 38- million....and says that's a modest amount to stash away for unexpected expenses....

to close out round 1, golden state summoned a mentality that would have come in handy last season, but will serve them well throughout every series going forward. when you have a chance to finish a team off, step on its throat and move in for the kill. "we had an opportunity to close the series out, you don't wanna let go of the rope or give the team any kind of confidence or momentum. we've done a great job of putting ourselves in a great position coming into game 4 with an opportunity to
5:26 pm
move on to the next round and i think the way that we showed up in the first quarter said a lot about our mindset and our focus.""this team is just on a different level. i mean they could be loose, they could crack jokes before the game, they can crack jokes during shootaround with one another, about one another and then go out and do that." and in game four, we saw just how unbeatable this warriors team can be. in essence, it only took a few minutes to send the blazers home...as they put up a franchise record 45-points in the first quarter. when it was finally over, the warriors earned themselves a series win... and at least a week of rest while they wait to see who emerges from the clippers-jazz series. "i've been in this situation before as a head coach and certain teams and certain guys, you worry about having this much time off, but i truly believe it's good for this group." and someone that'll certainly benefit from that rest is head coach steve kerr...who's dealing with painful symptoms from back surgery. as of now, it's not known when he'll return to
5:27 pm
the sidelines, but he still makes it a point to be around the team....whether it's a practice or the locker room. "you know he always thinks about the group and i think he should be a little more selfish with his time and his body, but he wants to be around the group. glad that we got to hear his voice in the locker room and the practice and stuff like that so we just hoping that he gets better, praying that he gets better and we all got his back."just because there aren't any games coming up, that doesn't mean the warriors are relaxing entirely.the team returns to practice tomorrow morning.mark carpenter, kron4 news. s (grant) with a government

(grant) president donald trump says he is not backing down on his plan to build a wall on the u-s - mexico border.... despite threats of a government shutdown. funding a wall has been a sticking point in congress. democrats favor enforcing the border with technology and officers rather than building a physical wall. however, congress is up against a deadline to pass a budget by the end of the week.
