( marty ) tragedy for one family in the east bay. a toddler was killed after he was run over by a car in the parking lot of a busy shopping center. it happened around 3:15 yesterday afternoon in the shopping center off decoto and alvarado-niles roads in union city. authorities say the 23-month-old boy ran into the parking lot from a nearby store and was struck by

a slow-moving car. the toddler was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. the driver is cooperating with the investigation. ( marty ) breaking news... a teenager crashes into a power pole after police say he fell asleep behind the wheel in martinez. police say this happened around 3:17 this morning in the 6700 block of alhambra avenue. both north and south bound lanes of alhambra avenue are closed between devon avenue and virgina hills in martinez right now as crews try to restore power. power was also interrupted in an area of neighboring plesant hill. the driver was not injured. ( marty @ landing ) breaking overnight. three tornadoes in texas killed five people and injured dozens. storm chasers captured video of this funnel cloud in a small city east of dallas. the storm system caused extensive damage. two other twisters were reported in neighboring counties. people there are dealing with cars and trucks

scattered and lots of debris. more than 50 people were hospitalized. we will continue to follow this story on kron four news weekend and kron four dot com. ( marty @ landing ) in east bay headlines this morning. officials are trying to find out how a man's body ended up in an alameda lagoon. they are calling it a suspicious death. they found the body floating in the lagoon at the end of broadway just before 11:00 yesterday morning. this case is remains under investigation this morning. police are looking to see if this man was a missing person. his identity will not be released until his family is notified. ( marty @ landing ) on his 100th day in office, president trump skipped out on a white house tradition and instead held a campaign-like rally in pennsylvania... the president is the first in decades to snub the white house correspondents dinner. we'll have more on that in a minute.. first, here's a look at the president trump's accomplishments so far in office. ( marty ) in one of his

most widely touted achievements, he filled a supreme court seat with neil gorsuch. he authorized missile strikes in syria. the new president greenlighted the construction of the keystone x-l and dakota access oil pipelines. and to expand offshore drilling in the atlantic and arctic. despite efforts, he did not "repeal and replace" the affordable care act. president trump's first national security adviser, michael flynn, resigned after it was revealed he misled vice president mike pence about his contact with russia's ambassador. just this past week, a judge blocked his attempts to withhold money from sanctuary cities, like san francisco. courts also halted his plan to ban people from several muslim-majority countries from entering the united states. steve nannes now has more on president trump's 100th day in office. instead of attending the black-tie event-- president trump held a campaign-style rally in pennsylvania -- one of the states he wasn't

delta airlines has finished it's investgation after one of their pilot's stepped in to stop a fight between two women, then the pilot hit one of the women. take a look, this happened in atlanta back on april 21. the two women, who reportedly knew each other suddenly started to fight. the pilot steps in to separate the women by physically hitting one of them. according to t-m-z, a delta employee escorted the women off the plane. police were called in. neither woman will press charges. the pilot has returned to work. ( marty ) meanwhile, as we reported on kron four... united airlines reached a settlement with doctor david dao ... he is the passenger who was dragged from one of its flights. dao's attorneys did ánotá disclose financial terms of the agreement but they did say the united c-e-o quote "did the right thing". ( marty ) american

airlines suspended a flight attendant after this video surfaced, showing tense moments before a flight left s-f-o . this was about a week ago. police say a woman tried to put a stroller in the overhead bin. and the flight attendant took it down, aggressively hitting her with it and coming just inches from hitting her baby. american airlines has since apologized for the incident. ( marty ) north korean leader, kim jong un continues to defy president trump by test launching another ballistic missile. but once again north korea's missile test failed yesterday/ according to the u-s, it went about 35-kilometers, but it never left north korea. for the last several months north korea has been trying to perfect using a mobile missle launcher. the main reason is that it's easy to launch and it's hard to detect president trump has said major conflict with north korea is possible but he wants a diplomatic solution. engineer is blaming ride share company uber for his suicide. this is according to the san chronicle. joseph thomas's wife says her husband struggled in a way he never had before. she says while at uber, he experienced extreme stress and racial discrimination. thomas's wife found her husband in his car in their garage back in august. he died two days later at the age of 33. the family has filed a lawsuit against uber. ( marty ) covering california. homicide detectives are continuing their search for a five-year- old boy who went missing since last saturday in southern california. and his father is now speaking out for the first time. tom wait has the story. a new twist in aramazd andressian's disappearance. the 5-year-old's father - who is believed to be the last one to see the young boy alive - is now releasing a statement through his attorney - after refusing multiple requests for an interview."there has been a great deal of speculation regarding the timeline around (aramazd's disappearance. the

last time i saw my son was on saturday morning, the 22nd, at arroyo park near my home in south pasadena."aramazd sr. goes on to say he and his son went to the park before the 5-year-old was supposed to be dropped off with his mother - as part of the divorced couple's custody arrangement. in the statement andressian says he remembers being here in the park in one moment with his son and then waking up in the hospital. andressian speculates he was attacked - and doesn't know what happened to his son.but whether police believe that account is unclear - detectives reported at the time of andressian's arrest he told them multiple stories about what happened. investigators have only confirmed one part of andressian's story - that he was found unconscious in arroyo park.sheriff's investigators have already searched a lake area near santa barbara and then again today went back to andressian's home with a search warrant - house for any clues to could lead to the five year old ( marty ) that was tom wait reporting. sheriff's

following this morning. we are learning there is more to the deadly officer-involved shooting on highway 101 than just a man pointing a gun. kron four's spencer blake brings us up to speed with what police say happened on the peninsula. (looklive)"san mateo police are only involved in one part of a three-part investigation. from what they've been looking at, they've been able to tell us more about what was going on when chp officers arrived on scene."(pkg)the seven-hour shut down of northbound 101 friday night came after a wrecka shootingand - we now know - a carjacking attempt in between those two things. captain dave norris with san mateo police is leading the investigation into the suspect's criminal behavior, and says it's not clear whether the initial crash led to the carjacking, or vice-versa."obviously we can't identify what the state of mind was of the suspect at that time."c-h-p officers

responded to the wreck and saw the man -- one of the drivers in the crash - with a handgun. witnesses say the officers tried to talk him into dropping his weapon, but they couldn't get him to cooperate. that's when three officers shot him."the officers that were involved from chp as well as responding officers from san mateo police department immediately attempted to render first aid."the suspect ended up dying.his would-be carjacking victim - the other driver in the initial wreck - wasn't hurt, except for pain from the collision itself. witnesses are still sharing what they saw with police, as they piece together the chain of events."witness accounts and information came in through phone calls, through social media."c-h-p is doing its own investigation into whether its officers followed protocol.the district attorney's office is looking into whether the shooting was justified.the coroner's office will be the one to release the name of the man who was killed. in san mateo, spencer blake, kron four news. climate march" took place on the president's 100th day in office organizers say about 300 marches took place across the country yesterday. ( marty ) thousands of environmentalists also rallied in oakland. activists mobilizing for the "people's climate movement bay area." kron four's philippe djegal reports from lake merritt where organizers rallied for planet earth. after authorities said two gunmen drove around in a car and opened fire in southern california. this started in whittier where two people were shot. their conditions were non-life- threatening. authorities said another man was then wounded in a parking lot. at another scene, a man was found shot by a golf course. he was taken to a local hospital where he lated died. another person was injured during that shooting. the two shooters then carjacked a person in pico rivera. they are still on the loose on this morning. ( marty ) a celebrity helps raise thousands of dollars for the family of 17-year-old floyd burrell. the senior at pittsburg high school died earlier this week while training for the marines. kron four's lydia pantazes shows us how mike epps is helping out. (sit)all the money made from his first show on saturday at the california theater in pittsburg donated to the family of floyd burrell. the pittsburg high school senior

collapsed during an training exercise to prepare for the us marine corp at veterans park in brentwood on april 25th. "i was on my way here anyway and when i arrived he told me what it happened tell me brought it to me and i said you know i would love to be a part of it and i would love to do as much as i can to support the family."the show was put together by the owner of tommy t's comedy club in pleasanton. "i got in touch with mike and he said heck yeah let's do it." the show was added just a few days ago and quickly sold out. ( marty ) tragedy for one family in the east bay. a toddler was killed after he was run over by a car in the parking lot of a busy shopping center. it happened around 3:15 yesterday afternoon in the shopping center off decoto and alvarado-niles roads in union city. authorities say the 23-month-old boy ran into the parking lot from a nearby store and was struck by a slow-moving car. the toddler was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. the driver is cooperating with the

investigation. ( marty ) breaking news... a teenager crashes into a power pole after police say he fell asleep behind the wheel in martinez. police say this happened around 3:17 this morning in the 6700 block of alhambra avenue. both north and south bound lanes of alhambra avenue are closed between devon avenue and virgina hills in martinez right now as crews try to restore power. power was also interrupted in an area of neighboring plesant hill. the driver was not injured. ( marty @ landing ) breaking overnight. three tornadoes in texas killed five people and injured dozens. storm chasers captured video of this funnel cloud in a small city east of dallas. the storm system caused extensive damage. two other twisters were reported in neighboring counties. people there are dealing with cars and trucks scattered and lots of debris.

more than 50 people were hospitalized. ( marty @ landing ) in east bay headlines this morning. officials are trying to find out how a man's body ended up in an alameda lagoon. they are calling it a suspicious death. they found the body floating in the lagoon at the end of broadway just before 11:00 yesterday morning. this case is remains under investigation this morning. police are looking to see if this man was a missing person. his identity will not be released until his family is notified. ( marty @ landing ) on his 100th day in office, president trump skipped out on a white house tradition and instead held a campaign-like rally in pennsylvania... the president is the first in decades to snub the white house correspondents dinner. we'll have more on that in a minute.. first, here's a look at the president trump's accomplishments so far in office. ( marty ) in one of his most widely touted achievements, he filled a supreme court seat with neil gorsuch. he authorized missile strikes in syria.

( marty ) in national headlines. delta airlines has finished it's investgation after one of their pilot's stepped in to stop a fight between two women, then the pilot hit one of the women. take a look, this happened in atlanta back on april 21. the two women, who reportedly knew each other suddenly started to fight. the pilot steps in to separate the women by physically hitting one of them. according to t-m-z, a delta employee escorted the women off the

plane. police were called in. neither woman will press charges. the pilot has returned to work. ( marty ) meanwhile, as we reported on kron four... united airlines reached a settlement with doctor david dao ... he is the passenger who was dragged from one of its flights. dao's attorneys did ánotá disclose financial terms of the agreement but they did say the united c-e-o quote "did the right thing". ( marty ) american airlines suspended a flight attendant after this video surfaced, showing tense moments before a flight left s-f-o . this was about a week ago. police say a woman tried to put a stroller in the overhead bin. and the flight attendant took it down, aggressively hitting her with it and coming just inches from hitting her baby. american airlines has since apologized for the incident. ( marty ) north korean leader, kim jong un continues to defy president trump by test launching another ballistic missile. but once again north korea's missile test failed yesterday/ according to the u-s, it went about 35-kilometers, but

it never left north korea. for the last several months north korea has been trying to perfect using a mobile missle launcher. the main reason is that it's easy to launch and it's hard to detect president trump has said major conflict with north korea is possible but he wants a diplomatic solution. ( marty ) covering california. homicide detectives are continuing their search for a five-year- old boy who went missing since last saturday in southern california. and his father is now speaking out for the first time. tom wait has the story. a new twist in aramazd andressian's disappearance. the 5-year-old's father - who is believed to be the last one to see the young boy alive - is now releasing a statement through his attorney - after refusing multiple requests for an interview."there has been a great deal of speculation regarding the timeline around (aramazd's disappearance. the

last time i saw my son was on saturday morning, the 22nd, at arroyo park near my home in south pasadena."aramazd sr. goes on to say he and his son went to the park before the 5-year-old was supposed to be dropped off with his mother - as part of the divorced couple's custody arrangement. in the statement andressian says he remembers being here in the park in one moment with his son and then waking up in the hospital. andressian speculates he was attacked - and doesn't know what happened to his son.but whether police believe that account is unclear - detectives reported at the time of andressian's arrest he told them multiple stories about what happened. investigators have only confirmed one part of andressian's story - that he was found unconscious in arroyo park.sheriff's investigators have already searched a lake area near santa barbara and then again today went back to andressian's home with a search warrant - combing the house for any clues to could lead to the five year old ( marty ) that was tom wait reporting. sheriff's deputies set andressian free earlier this week with little explanation. ( marty ) a big story we are following this morning. we are learning there is more to the deadly officer-involved shooting on highway 101 than just a man pointing a gun. kron four's spencer blake brings us up to speed with what police say happened on the peninsula. (looklive)"san mateo police are only involved in one part of a three-part investigation. from what they've been looking at, they've been able to tell us more about what was going on when chp officers arrived on scene."(pkg)the seven-hour shut down of northbound 101 friday night came after a wrecka shootingand - we now know - a carjacking attempt in between those two things.

friday. officers responded to a parking lot on laural avenue near cherry street in san carlos where they found a man had been stabbed in the chest three times. the victim directed the officers to an address in san leandro. thats where they arrested bulmaro maldonado. maldonado was booked into the san mateo county jail on attempted murder charges. ( marty ) at least one person is dead and three others hurt... after authorities said two gunmen drove around in a car and opened fire in southern california. this started in whittier where two people were shot. their conditions were non-life- threatening. authorities said another man was then wounded in a parking lot. at another scene, a man was found shot by a golf course. he was taken to a local hospital where he lated died. another person was injured during that shooting. the two shooters then carjacked a person in pico rivera. they are still on the loose on this morning. ( marty ) tragedy for one family in the east bay. a toddler was killed after he was run over by a car in the parking lot of a busy shopping center. it happened around 3:15 yesterday afternoon in the shopping center off decoto and alvarado-niles roads in union city. authorities say the 23-month-old boy ran into the parking lot from a nearby store and was struck by a slow-moving car. the toddler was rushed to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. the driver is cooperating with the investigation. ( marty ) breaking news... a teenager crashes into a power pole after police say he fell asleep behind the wheel in martinez. and now crews say some people in the city will be without power until 6:00 tonight because of it. police say the crash happened

around 3:17 this morning in the 6700 block of alhambra avenue. both north and south bound lanes of alhambra avenue are closed between devon avenue and virgina hills in martinez right now as crews try to restore power. power was also interrupted in an area of neighboring plesant hill. the driver was not ( marty @ landing ) breaking overnight. three tornadoes in texas killed at least 4 people and injured dozens. storm chasers captured video of this funnel cloud in a small city east of dallas. the storm system caused extensive damage. two other twisters were reported in neighboring counties. people there are dealing with cars and trucks scattered and lots of debris. more than 50 people were hospitalized. officials fear the death toll will rise. ( marty @ landing ) in east bay headlines this morning. officials are trying to find out how a man's body ended up in an alameda lagoon. they are calling it a suspicious death. they

found the body floating in the lagoon at the end of broadway just before 11:00 yesterday morning. this case is remains under investigation this morning. police are looking to see if this man was a missing person. his identity will not be released until his family is notified. ( marty @ landing ) on his 100th day in office, president trump skipped out on a white house tradition and instead held a campaign-like rally in pennsylvania... the president is the first in decades to snub the white house correspondents dinner. we'll have more on that in a minute.. first, here's a look at the president trump's accomplishments so far in office. ( marty ) in national headlines. delta airlines has finished it's investgation after one of their pilot's stepped in to stop a fight between two women, then the pilot hit one of the women. take a look, this happened in atlanta back on april 21. the two women, who reportedly knew each other suddenly started to fight. the pilot steps in to separate the women by physically hitting one of them. according to

t-m-z, a delta employee escorted the women off the plane. police were called in. neither woman will press charges. the pilot has returned to work. ( marty ) meanwhile, as we reported on kron four... united airlines reached a settlement with doctor david dao ... he is the passenger who was dragged from one of its flights. dao's attorneys did ánotá disclose financial terms of the agreement but they did say the united c-e-o quote "did the right thing". ( marty ) american airlines suspended a flight attendant after this video surfaced, showing tense moments before a flight left s-f-o . this was about a week ago. police say a woman tried to put a stroller in the overhead bin. and the flight attendant took it down, aggressively hitting her with it and coming just inches from hitting her baby. american airlines has since apologized for the incident. ( marty ) north korean leader, kim jong un continues to defy president trump by test launching another

ballistic missile. but once again north korea's missile test failed yesterday/ according to the u-s, it went about 35-kilometers, but it never left north korea. for the last several months north korea has been trying to perfect using a mobile missle launcher. the main reason is that it's easy to launch and it's hard to detect president trump has said major conflict with north korea is possible but he wants a diplomatic solution. ( marty ) a big story we are following this morning. we are learning there is more to the deadly officer-involved shooting on highway 101 than just a man pointing a gun. kron four's spencer blake brings us up to speed with what police say happened on the peninsula. (looklive)"san mateo police are only involved in one part of a three-part investigation. from what they've been looking at, they've been able to tell us more about what was going on when chp officers arrived on scene."(pkg)the seven-hour shut down of northbound 101 friday night came after a wrecka shootingand - we now know - a carjacking attempt in between those two things. captain dave norris with san mateo police is leading the

( marty ) a man is in jail this a man is in ( marty ) a man is in jail this morning after police say he stabbed another man in a pennisula parking lot. it happened just before midnight friday. officers responded to a parking lot on laural avenue near cherry street in san carlos where they found a man had been stabbed in the chest three times. the victim directed the officers to an address in san leandro. thats where they arrested bulmaro maldonado. maldonado was booked into the san mateo county jail on attempted murder charges. ( marty ) at least one person is dead and three others hurt... after authorities said two gunmen drove around in a car and opened fire in southern california. this started in whittier where two people were shot. their conditions were non-life- threatening. authorities said another man was then wounded in a parking lot. at another scene, a man was found shot by a golf course. he was taken to a local

( marty ) covering california. the heavy rain this winter was good news for the declining bee populations. unlike in past years, bees are much more active because of the abundance of wildflowers. bee swarms have increased from having 20 to 40-thousand bees to 100-thousand and they recently started their colonization process again. almond farmers are benefitting from the increase in the bee population. according some bee keepers, almond pollination is very important for the

( marty ) take a look at this... a huge tree went crashing down on a busy highway in washington state... and it was all caught on a dash cam. the tree came down directly on top of a toyota prius, injuring the 54 year-old woman behind the wheel. transportation officials say the tree cracked becasue of rotting. according to those officials, tree experts regularly patrol the area and remove potentially hazardous trees. they do not know details yet about this massive overgrown cottonwood tree or why the rot wasn't spotted earlier.
