( james ) our top story this morning... comes out of the south bay. a severe stomach flu outbreak in schools across santa clara county has made hundreds of students sick. kron4's j-r stone visited one of the hardest hit schools where 88 children have fallen sick in the last two weeks. san jose workers scrubbing down classrooms just as quickly as they can in an effort to sterilize hacienda

elementary school. dozens of students have gotten sick here in the last two weeks. that means spraying a bleach solution on just about everything in site. sot cafeterias play structures bathrooms anywhere where kids are going to be congregating. sot we're doing handrails, we're doing door knobs, going the extra mile just to make sure we're covering all of our bases.county wide more than 245 students have caught a bad stomach bug, possibly norovirus. 13 county schools are affected including 10 schools in the san jose unified district. both public and private schools are affected.sot we're at st. chris in willow glen and about two weeks ago there were a couple incidents were a teacher was sick and then several of the students had to leave school because of a virus we're not sure what it was.in fact holly walsh's 12 year old son conner got that stomach bug and was sidelined for two days. at hacienda

workers are sterilizing the school two times a day. with a hope of killing any bad germs. sot we're dealing with a pretty nasty stomach virus it's keeping kids down for a day or two. pretty bad vomiting or diarrhea. not a lot of fun stuff.sot i absolutely think it's shocking.this day and age and especially this time of year. yeah who knows. ( james ) in yolo county... more than 9-hundred students and staff are recovering from the norovirus, as well. and health officials say it's been spreading at an alarming rate. records show 952 cases in 32 schools. people are being urged to wash their hands regularly to prevent further spread. we have a full list of schools affected in the bay area on our website at kron 4.com.

( james ) a big story on the national front this morning... a explosive new report claims president trump, back in february, asked then fbi director james comey to shutdown an investigation into fired national security advisor michael flynn. the request allegedly came during a private oval office meeting between the two. and now democratic lawmakers -- and even some republican's, too -- are concerned this constitutes "obstruction of justice." kron 4's grant lodes has the latest. sources close to former fbi director james comey say comey wrote a memo following a one on one conversation with president trump... in which the president asked him to end the investigation into national security adviser michael flynn -- the president reportedly telling the former director-- quote, "i hope you can let this go."sources saying comey was so appalled by the request... he wanted to document it. the white house adamently denying the report in a statement reading: "while the president has repeatedly expressed his view that general flynn is a decent man who served and protected our country, the president has never asked mr. comey or anyone else to end any

investigation, including any investigation involving general flynn." one legal analyst calling the request potentially criminal.jeffrey toobin/cnn legal analyst: "if he's telling the truth i don't think anyone can see this as anything but an obstruction of justice."and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle asking for answersrep. kevin cramer/-r- north dakota: "the larger concern is what seems to be a lack of communication discipline coming out of the white house"rep. adam schiff/- d- ranking member, intelligence committee: "i would love for him to come before the intelligence committee and either way he needs to come back before congress and i think share with the public what conversations he had with the president that met there and whether there was any effort to obstruct the investigation or impede it in any way. "the former f-b-i director declined an invitation to testify in front of the senate intelligence committee behind closed doors. sources say he wants to testify publicly and now, the expectation is... that those memos will be subpeonaed. ( james ) the comey memo story comes just one day after news broke of president trump,

possibly, sharing highly classified intelligence with russian officials visiting the white house last week. we now know the source of that intelligence was israel. they're the ones who discovered isis was developing a way to use laptops in terror attacks. national security experts warned that russia would likely funnel that information to israel's sworn enemy, iran. the president tweeted about the issue. defending what he called his "absolute right " to reveal facts pertaining to terrorism and airline flight safety. ( james ) now to the dubs. they were at oracle taking on the spurs for game 2 of their western conference finals series against san antonio. and the spurs were without kawhi leonard who missed the game with an ankle injury. and this one was over right from the tip off... as golden state would dominate the spurs. let's go to the 1st quarter. warriors rolling early. and here's steph curry. draining a 3- pointer. giving golden state an early lead. curry had 4 three point buckets in

the quarter. 33-16 warriors after 1 curry would finish the game with 29 points, 7 assists. he was 6 for 9 from beyond the arc. the dubs would go on to blow out the spurs. final score 136-100 warriors. this is the warriors 10th straight win in the playoffs. the dubs have also outscored the spurs 194 to 133 since kawhi leonard left in the 3rd quarter of game 1. arrested a man after finding thousands of child pornography images on a computer in his home. 28-year old marlon ramirez was arrested after pacifica police served a search warrant at a home on eastridge circle. police and the fbi were able to recover 14,000 child pornographic images from devices inside the home. ramirez has been booked into the san mateo county jail. ( james @ landing ) another big story we are following this morning... video showing teen daredevils pulling off a very dangerous stunt on the golden gate bridge. this happened last month. but law enforcment says, they only learned about the incident after the video came out publicly. now as kron four's philippe djegal reports, bridge officials are scrambling to review security

protocol to prevent anything like this from happening again. imagine driving along the golden gate bridge, looking up and seeing two young men hanging from the top with their finger-tips... then doing sprints and somersaults along the frame.lisa locati/captain- 'if either of these men had slipped or fallen, there could have been serious harm to motorists below." bridge captain lisa locati says the two men in their late teens from wisconsin did not trigger any alarms... and, went unoticed on the hundreds of security cameras monitoring the bridge.lisa locati/captain- "we will be instituting changes to our security infrastructure and protocols." bridge general manager denis mulligan says the trespassers were only on the bridge for about 10 minutes... enough time to capture their stunts and leave... since then, they've made a profit by selling rights to the video online.denis mulligan/general manager- "when we saw the link, i was very concerned that these two reckless individuals were putting motorists at risk. uh, they were dangling off the bridge in a fashion that could have

hurt themselves and hurt someone below them." mulligan says he knows the men got onto the bridge by hiking down a hill in the marin headlands, then jumping onto the sidewalk. and, it appears they climbed all the way to the top of the north tower.denis mulligan/general manager- 'they climbed the vertical suspender ropes without any harnesses, any fall protection." the california highway patrol is leading the investigation into the matter... the department of homeland security is involved as well. mulligan says they know who the men are, and will pursue trespassing charges against them. in san francisco, philippe djegal, kron four news. ( james ) wildfire season officially started a few days ago. that means it is time for homeowners in the oakland hills to clear defensible space around their properties. it is also the time when oakland firefighters conduct their annual home inspections in that area.. oakland fire fighters at station 24 are heading into the hills to inspect vegetation surrounding homes making sure they are compliant with city fire codes.

they do 60-vegetation inspections per day. on monday, they found four that were non-compliant. < "so the dead dying fuel would be a failure. see the grass growing really close to the roadway. that lot right now needs some work. the grass is tall, supposed to be 10-feet from the road, trees are down and dying. it's non- compliant">( james ) once property owners have been notified they have 30-days to remove the problem back in 1991 this area was the scene of one of the worst fire disasters in u.s. history. officials say that is why these vegetation inspections are so important. ( james ) the wife of an alameda county sheriff's deputy already accused in a deadly d-u-i has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk in public. kron4's spencer blake has the new details -- and new reaction. as natasha thomas prepared to walk into the state office building in san francisco, she spoke with kron four.the program director for madd in the bay area was part of a

panel that spoke to several state judges tuesdayabout the need for changes to pre-trial detention policies."there's no real pre-trial detention reform for those offenders, as they're just out there waiting months on end to even be charged."that's the case with yarenit malihan, the driver in september's deadl y crash on i-680.she still hasn't been formally charged in that case, nor in the previous d-u-i she had in june of 2016.then just last week, she got arrested again for public intoxication. "then, to get arrested again, and she has not been formally charged, it's been a real slap in the face - not only for us and the work that we do, but for the family as well. just another low blow."thomas, who has been working with the dunn family closely since the accident, had already planned on talking about them on monday's panel.then she had to add to her notes when she heard about malihan getting arrested again.malihan's license was revoked in december - but not before that - because of d-m-v protocol for ádrugged driving that differs from ádrunk driving. ( james ) the pacifica police department is looking for two criminals who are believed to have burglarized five homes. as kron4's charles clifford reports, the break-ins happened during the daylight hours. the thieves targetting houses with no one home. well, all of these break ins occurred here in the linda mar area of pacifica. police say that all the homes were empty at the time, but fortunately neighbors did see the suspects and their vehicle was captured on surveillance videoaccording to the pacifica police

department, five different homes were burglarized on monday between 7 in the morning and 4pm. the thieves apparently struck homes along stanley avenue, montezuma drive, manzanita drive and two homes on view way. in all cases the suspect targeted empty homes and gained entry by breaking in through rear windows or doors. they also appeared to be looking for jewelry, laptops, tablets and personal electronics. investigators believe that all of the burglaries were committed by the same people. sotbased on the time of occurrence and the method that was used by the burglars we do believe it was the same group of people.in the case of the stanley avenue burglary, neighbors saw two subjects running from the area carrying property. they were described as being african american males in their twenties with medium builds wearing black hooded sweatshirtssurveillance video from the area may have also captured the suspect's vehicle. police describe it as a gray or dark blue suv possibly a toyota rav-4 or nissan rouge.investigators say it's unusual to see some many break ins in such a short period of time and they are asking for residents to keep their eyes open.sotif you see

along with a photo of a naked, 71-year-old woman in a locker room lost her effort to dismiss her criminal case. a judge ruled against dani mathers on monday. she is charged with invasion of privacy for taking the photo and posting it on snapchat. her caption said: "if i can't unsee this then you can't either." a defense lawyer claims the victim wasn't easily identified in the photo. mathers later apologized for the incident at an la fitness club in july. (robin) there will be a new voice doing play by play for at least one monday night football game this season. beth mowins will be the first woman to call a nationally televised n-f-l game in 30 years. it will happen september 11th when the l-a chargers play the denver broncos. mowins will be joined in the booth by former n-f-l coach rex ryan. the only other woman ever to do network play-by-play in the n- f-l was gayle sierens in 19-87. its part pg&e says it hasn't seen the lawsuit but after reviewing ten years of records it has found no reports of anomalies. but they say they are cooperating with the investigation. in oakland, dan kerman kron 4 news. ( james @ bam ) an update on the big emeryville fire that happened over the weekend. a federal team has arrived at the scene to help with the investigation. this is the second fire at the construction site since july of last year. a kron four viewer shot this video of the fire over the weekend. the federal bureau of alcohol, tobacco, firearms and explosives has sent in its national response team. the a-t-f says it is here to assist the alameda county fire department. it also assisted in the investigation into last year's fire which remains open. know what you want a northern california these are the people of zashtv by the way they don't want their real names used for obvious reasons .but i needed to find out basically what was going through their heads i know i was pretty safe especially using gorilla tape ..but why what were we doing yea he's been making videos for a long time i've always wanted to do it but we just thought you know what now is the time expecally for zaycashtv and zacashtv they started in the city of alameda and hit the interstate 880 and basically cruised all around the oakland coliseum there was a lot of people recording us they was all laughing it was like a really good time expecially when we got to international cause that's oakland they show love crazy stuff especially when it has to do with car activities so they all got out their windows, sun roofs recording us slapping the music really loud it was just fun until oakland's finest caught up with them. then it became well .a sticky situation after police cut

through all the gorilla tape.. everyone involved were issued tickets .three tickets total .one for wreckelss driving which carries a 858 dollar fine and two point and two were issued tickets for unlawful riding which is one point and 280 dollars each (what's a safe speed for driving with a person taped to their car) 200 hundred miles per hour !!!. no zero miles per hour, zero miles per hour but if could have been worse what if something had gone really wrong we would have kept roilling the footage crazy kid doing prank car gone wrong they are hoping that gorilla tape company see their antics and will sponsor them to help pay off all the fines. their words not mine we are trying to get companies to sponsor our channel i spoke to a driver who saw the video on kron 4 dot com so these were the guys that were taped to the car (yea ) what do you think when you saw the video ..(why). this is how we knew we were being safe it took both officers just to take him off i asked if they would refrain from taping anyone to a car again you know i cant

threat coming out of the middle east... with al qaeda making a major comeback-- it is believed that osama bin ladin's son is quickly rising through the ranks. hamza (hom-sa) bin ladin recently voiced a video released by the terrorist group calling for attacks on america. experts say hamza-- who is believed to be in his mid- to- late 20s-- is very charismatic and he could be a crucial figure with al qaeda now targeting isis's younger fighters. as isis looses power there are concerns that it will form an alliance with al qaeda. whether or not hamza leads that group terrorism experts say, it would significantly increase the threat to the middle east, europe and the united states. ( james ) a texas family is outraged after they say school police handcuffed and tased a seven-year-old boy with special needs. the picture shows a seven-year-old special needs boy in handcuffs, surrounded by police at a mental health facility. his mother says he often disrupts class.

and on this day he became violent. but before she could arrive police took action. she says they used excessive force. showing bruises where they allegely used a baton to beat his legs. and even tased him in the back. his mother has contacted the district attorney to have them review the case. as for her son, he is out of the hospital. but it is unclear if he will ever return to the school. the school has not commented. ( james ) in san jose... a fundraiser was held to benefit the people who still remain affected by the flooding that happened in san jose a few months back. a group of blues musicians got together to help get the least fortunate ones get back on their feet. kron four's jeff bush was there and has the story. it's been months since the san jose flood. the people affected by that flood have been dealing with the damage ever since. most people made insurance claims and started rebuilding but some found the ordeal to be too much and are

( james ) pacifica police arrest a man after finding thousands of child pornography images on a computer in his home. 28-year old marlon ramirez was arrested after police served a search warrant at a home. pacifica police and the fbi were able to recover 14-thousand pornographic images from devices inside the home. ramirez has been booked into the san mateo county jail. ( darya ) also in pacifica, police are looking for two people who burglarized five homes in a span of just nine hours. here is a look at where the homes were burglarized. it happened on monday between seven in the morning and four p-m. the burglars broke in through the windows. the crooks stole jewelry, laptops and other electronics. police say all five of the burglaries were committed by the same people. police believe they were driving a gray or dark blue s-u-v, possibly a toyota rav-four or a nissan rougue.

( james ) wildfire season started a few days ago. and that means it is time for homeowners in the oakland hills to clear the space around their properties. it is also the time when oakland firefighters conduct their annual home inspections. fire crews are heading into the hills to inspect areas surrounding homes to make sure they comply with the city's fire code. once property owners have been notified that they do not meet the fire safety standards... they have 30-days to remove the problem. back in 1991 the oakland hills was the scene of one of the worst fire disasters in u.s. history. 25 people were killed. officials say that is why these fire inspections are so important. ( darya ) a group of blues musicians are helping those still displaced by flooding in san jose. the massive flooding happened in february but some people are still working to rebuild their homes. the silicon valley blues

( darya ) a texas mother is outraged after school police handcuffed and tased her seven-year-old boy with special needs. a picture shows the boy in handcuffs, surrounded by police at a mental health facility. his mother says he has autism and often disrupts class. she says she was called to pick the boy up from school

but before she could get there - police took the boy away to a mental health facility. she says they used excessive force when they used a baton on his legs and even tased him in the back. his mother has contacted the district attorney to have them review the case. the boy is now out of the hospital. his parents have not decide if he will return to the school. ( will ) a severe stomach flu outbreak has made hundreds of students sick in the south bay. it's impacting 13 schools in santa clara county. at least 245 kids have been sick at some point over the past two weeks. this is video as workers scrub down classrooms at hacienda elementary school. that school is one of the hardest hit... with 88 kids getting sick. crews are spraying a bleach solution on just about everything in an effort to sterilize the school.

( darya ) police have arrested a man connected to a murder in fairfield. 20-year-old jefferson tara was arrested last night for the murder of raymond mcdonald. mcdonald was shot and killed on march 14th. tara has been booked in the solano county jail. he is charged with murder and murder. police have may have shooting. ( darya ) pacifica police arrest a man after finding thousands of child pornography images on a computer in his home. 28-year old marlon ramirez was arrested after police served a search warrant at a home. pacifica police and the fbi were able to recover 14-thousand pornographic images from devices inside the home. ramirez has been booked into the san mateo county jail. ( james ) also in pacifica, police are looking for two people who burglarized five homes in a span of just nine hours. here is a look at where the homes were

burglarized. it happened on monday between seven in the morning and four p-m. the burglars broke in through the windows. the crooks stole jewelry, laptops and other electronics. police say all five of the burglaries were committed by the same people. police believe they were driving a gray or dark blue s-u-v, possibly a toyota rav-four or a nissan rougue. ( james ) a third person has been arrested in santa cruz county for sex crimes against children. we told you about this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news... a doctor and nurse were arrested for sexually abusing at least one minor. now we have learned that a third person... 29 year old emily stephens has been arrested in arizona and is waiting extradition to california. police say stephens is accused of committing sex acts against at least 6 children under the age of 14. police are also asking for the public's help: < naim figuera/watsonville police department"at this point because it is an ongoing investigation we are unsure if there are any other victims.

started a few days ago. and that means it is time for homeowners in the oakland hills to clear the space around their properties. it is also the time when oakland firefighters conduct their annual home inspections. oakland fire fighters are heading into the hills to inspect areas surrounding homes to make sure they comply with the city's fire code. once property owners have been notified that they do not meet the fire safety standards... they have 30-days to remove the problem. back in 1991 the oakland hills was the scene of one of the worst fire disasters in u.s. history. 25 people were killed. officials say that is why these fire inspections are so important. ( darya ) the alameda county sherrif's office continues to search for a missing 77-year-old woman this morning. joyce atienza has been missing for more than two weeks. she dispeared the morning of may sixth and was last seen leaving a group home in hayward. at the time, she was wearing beige pants and a floral red and orange shirt. atienza has curly red hair, blue eyes, is five

( james ) happening today... u-s security officials are meeting to discuss plans to expand an in- flight ban on laptops and tablets on planes headed to the u-s from europe. the ban would affect trans-atlantic routes that carry as many as 65 million people a year on over 400 daily flights. u-s security officials say the ban's expansion is due to increased terrorism concerns. there is currently a laptop ban in place at ten airports in eight countries mostly in the middle east. ( james ) new orleans removed another confederate- era monument overnight. it is the third of four monuments to be removed from the city in recent weeks. take a look at this new video of the removal earlier this morning. the mayor approved the removal of the monuments in 20-15, but the the process was stuck in limbo for over a year as supporters fought to keep them up. supporters say removing the monuments is similar to erasing history. those calling for their removal say they glorify a

( james ) the los angeles county sheriff's department passed a new policy for interacting with transgender people. it requires deputies to address people by their preferred name and pronoun. it prohibits deputies from asking about a person's gender transition process and from making offensive comments. the policy also says transgender people can specify the gender of deputies who conduct invasive searches, including strip searches. incident either. some people are claiming she is getting special treatment because she is the wife of an alameda county sheriff's deputy. ( darya ) an update now on the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire that killed 36 people in oakland last december. lawyers for the victims have just added p-g-and-e to their lawsuit... claiming the utility company should have known how dangerous the electrical setup was at the warehouse. the lawsuit claims the owner of the warehouse owned several businesses on neighboring properties... but pg&e only had one smart meter to monitor them all. the victim's lawyers say that violates a utility rule requiring separate meters for each business. they claim that had pg&e installed the extra

( darya ) a san jose police officer has been cleared in a deadly shooting in march of 2016. police say officer donald guess shot and killed byron rosas because he was stabbing his estranged wife and her friend. this is video from the scene. one of the victims died from his injuries. a judge ruled the police shooting was justifiable. ( darya ) severe weather turns deadly as intense storms and tornadoes are reported in several states. two people have died and dozens others are injured after tornadoes ripped through a mobile home park in wisconsin... and a neighborhood in oklahoma yesterday. you can see how bad the damage is. the storms were reported from the south plains of texas all the way to the great lakes. first responders say there could be more victims trapped under the rubble.
