(will) in the east bay... a 15-year-old girl has gone missing in richmond. and her family is worred she may be the victim of human trafficking. her name is brenay gray. she left her house wednesday morning on solano avenue and never showed up to hercules high school. brenay is five- feet- nine- inches tall and weighs 160- pounds. she has brown hair and brown eyes. announced that 28 children and staff at a boulder creek camp have fallen ill with what appears to be norovirus. there is concern now that an outbreak of stomach flu that started here in san jose could be spreading.since may 4th, hundreds of kids from more than a dozen schools across san jose have fallen ill with symptoms consistent with norovirus. health officials are still holding back on officially calling it norovirus because lab tests haven't confirmed that conclusion. dr. lisa hernandez is the deputy health officers for santa clara county. she suspects norovirus is probably the culprit.sotshe's concerned that the illness may have spread to santa cruz county and suspects it's probably because of two reasons.sotsince the outbreak began, san jose unified school district and the santa clara county health department have launched an effort to thoroughly clean the impacted schools and educate parents on how to keep the illness from spreading.sot

appeared has made their 1st court appearance. the public defender's office representing him asked the judge to move the arraignment to next week. 36-year-old james bishop did not enter a plea in contra costa county superior court. his attorney says he needs more time to review the case. right now, bishop has been charged with nine counts of arson to property. eight counts of using an accelerant to set a fire. and, one count of arson to an inhabited structure. (will) investigators say bishop could be responsible for at least 30-arson incidents in the bay area. police are using surveillance video of his car to link him to some of the crime scenes. bishop's bail is set at more than one-million dollars. (will) another big story we are following this morning.. jasmine abuslin, formally known as celeste guap testified against one of the officers involved in a bay area wide police sex scandal. and now a former oakland police officer will stand trial. brian bunton is facing two charges. one for having sex with a prostitute and the other, for obstructing justice. he allegedly told jasmine abuslin to stay away from an undercover prostitue sting operation. during her testimony - abuslin seemed very nervous on the stand. at one point, she even gagged and threw up in the a garbage can. an arraignment for brian bunton's trial will take place in june. (will) two men who assaulted a sikh man in richmond have been sentenced. chase little and colton leblanc were sentenced to three years in prison. back in september, they attacked a sihk man who was

stopped at a red light in richmond . the victim was punched and his turban was pulled off. his hair was cut and his finger was cut aswell. it later had to be amputated. the two men had pleaded á"no contest" to assault with a hate crime enhancement. (will) a fundraiser and memorial was held in pleasanton to remember the off- duty alameda county sheriff's deputy who was killed in an accident nvolving a bus for tesla employees and the deputy's v-w beetle. the accident happened last friday on interstate -580. a silent auction was set up and the crowd filled the beer garden of mckay's taphouse to remember their fallen comrad. and to raise money for deputy sroeuy khin's family.

searching for the people who attacked and stabbed a man in a san francisco park. we first told you about this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. it happened wednesday night in dolores park. police say the 23-year-old victim was chased across the park by five people and assaulted. officers say he was then beaten with a golf club and stabbed with broken bottles. ( darya ) the victim has been released from the hospital. police believe the attack was targeted but they do not have a motive. authorities are also investigating if the incident is gang related. ( mark ) police arrest a man they say doused several people at a hayward denny's restaurant with gasoline then attempted to light a fire. it happened on industrial boulevard wednesday morning. people in the restaurant held the man down before he

arrest man accused of breaking into cars...after he was spotted by witnesses at the scene of his latest crime. pictures of the suspect's car led police to the city's bay view district where 26-year-old marcus tyson was identified as the driver. officers say tyson was driving in a silver honda accord and searching for unoccupied cars to break into. police arrested tyson and booked him

( mark ) a missing 6- year-old boy is found dead in the back seat of a stolen car. this happened in jackson, mississippi. three men have been arrested after 6-year-old kingston frazier was found shot to death yesterday afternoon. this is video of the arrest. the boy's mom says she left her son in the car while she ran into a store and when she came out the car and her son were gone. all three men have been charged with capital ( darya ) a school employee in pennsylvania could be facing charges after he was caught on camera lifting a student off the ground by the neck. you can see the 13-year-old boy's feet dangling as he was lifted off the ground and carried down the hallway. the man grabbing the student is a behavior specialist at the school. the man's lawyer says the incident happened after the boy repeatedly disobeyed directions and kept leaving class. the school

is dead after an out of control car plowed into her and nearly two dozen other people in times square. we brought you this story live yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. and now we are getting a look at video from the moment of the crash. we want to warn you - the video is disturbing. in it you can see the car barreling through the crowd. several people are hit and knocked out of the way. others are jumping to avoid being hit. the teen killed has been identified as alyssa elsman. she was visiting with her family from michigan. police say the driver... 26- year old richard rojas tested positive for p-c-p. they also say rojas suffered from psychological issues... telling officers he heard voices before the incident... and thought officers would shoot him right after the crash. witnesses say it all happened in the blink of an eye.

( darya ) three people were injured after a fire broke out at the google conference in mountain view. the fire happened in a kitchen at shoreline yesterday afternoon. it was quickly put out. one person is suffering life- threatening injuries. the other two people who were injured are expected to be okay. ( darya ) soundgarden singer chris cornell's death has been ruled a suicide by hanging. take a look at how the seattle native was honored in his hometown... the space needle went dark for an hour last night in tribute to the singer. cornell was born and raised in seattle, and it is also where he formed the band soundgarden. authorities say he hanged himself in a detroit hotel room wednesday night just hours after performing a

( mark ) happening today... it is the last day for people in san mateo county to apply for federal disaster loans following the past winter's storms. this is video from back in february of the damage to homes in la honda. homeowners, renters and business owners can apply for disaster loans through the u-s small business administration. homeowners are eligible for disaster loans up to 200-thousand dollars to repair replace damaged or destroyed real estate. businesses of all sizes may borrow up to two-million ( mark ) state democrats are trying to intervene in a federal lawsuit that threatens to take money away from the affordable care act. house republicans filed the lawsuit against the obama administration. they are challenging the constitutionali ty of aid payments estimated at 7 billion-dollars this year. ending the payments could disrupt life for millions of people with coverage. california's attorney general says there is no way to predict the direction of the trump administration's handling of the pending ( darya ) millions of car

owners who had faulty takata airbags could receive a check of up to 500-dollars. toyota, subaru, mazada and b- m-w reached a proposed settlement that would compensate owners of nearly 16- million cars. takata air bags were recalled because the inflators could explode with too much force, spewing shrapnel into drivers and passengers. the inflaotrs are blamed for at least 16 deaths worldwide. the settlement provides owners with up to 500-dollars and compensation for out-of-pocket costs related to the recall. ( mark ) breaking news. disgraced former new york congressman anthony weiner is expected to plead guilty to federal charges this morning. weiner is facing one count of transferring obscene material to a minor. he has been under investigation for text messages sent to an underage girl in north carolina. weiner turned himself in to the fbi earlier this morning and is due in federal court in manhattan in about two hours. ( darya ) the san francisco public works department wants to raise

garbage rates by 14 percent by july. that would cost a typical single family home with three garbage bins about $4.85 more per month. city officials say the increase is due to rising labor costs. some of the new money will be used to steam-clean curbside garbage cans and make it more convenient for people to get rid of bulky items like old furniture. a final decision on the increase has not been made. ( mark ) san francisco city officials are considering raising fines on people caught littering at dolores park. the legislation introduced earlier this month would make the fine 1-thousand dollars. the bill would also ban glass from parks all across the city. city officials say that littering has become a growing problem at dolores park. the city recently finished a renovation of the park that cost 20 million dollars. it may be several months before the proposal is voted on by the city supervisors. ( mark ) one of the officers involved in a bay area wide police sex scandal will stand trial. and a judge has decided that there is enough evidence for former oakland police officer brian bunton to go to trial. bunton is charged with having sex with a prostitute and obstructing justice. he allegedly told jasmine abuslin, also known as celeste guap, to stay away from an undercover prostitute sting operation. she testified yesterday in court.

an arraignment for bunton will take place in june. ( mark ) police arrest a man they say doused several people at a hayward denny's restaurant with gasoline then attempted to light a fire. it happened on industrial boulevard wednesday morning. people in the restaurant held the man down before he could start the fire. they held him until police arrived. no one was hurt. the man has not yet been identified. ( darya ) police are still searching for the people who attacked and stabbed a man in a san francisco park. we first told you about this story yesterday on the kron 4 morning news. it happened wednesday night in dolores park. police say the 23-year-old victim was chased across the park by five people and assaulted. officers say he was then beaten with a golf club and stabbed with broken bottles. ( darya ) the victim has

been released from the hospital. police believe the attack was targeted but they do not have a motive. authorities are also investigating if the incident is ( mark ) two men who assaulted a sikh man in richmond have been sentenced. chase little and colton leblanc will spend the next three years in prison. in september, they attacked a sihk man who was stopped at a red light in richmond . the victim was punched and his turban was pulled off. they cut his hair and his finger. his finger had to be amputated. the two men had pleaded "no contest" to assault with a hate crime enhancement. ( darya ) a memorial was held in pleasanton to remember the off- duty alameda county sheriff's deputy who was killed in a car accident. sroeuy (shuh-roy) khin (ken) was driving his personal car when it was hit by a commuter bus. it happened last friday on interstate-580 near tracy. a silent auction was set up and the crowd filled the beer garden of mckay's taphouse to remember the fallen deputy and to raise money for his family. the accident is still under investigation. identifeid the married couple found dead in their novato home. they are 84-year-old michael puig de vall and his 79-year-old wife anita. the bodies were found by family members on wednesday morning. police have confirmed that the two were shot to death. the shootings are now being investigated as a murder- suicide. ( mark ) twitter is updating its privacy policy to allow the company to track more users. twitter was already tracking peoples' web activity. if you visited a website that had an embedded tweet or a button to share something on twitter, then you could be tracked and targeted. the changes expand the pool of people it can track. it allows the company to collect more data about those people when they are visiting sites around the web. this helps the san francisco based company in tracking peoples' interests and targeting advertisments to them. ( mark ) facebook to all set to start streaming major league baseball games each friday starting this week.

the league says facebook will carry a live game nationally each friday starting with colorado at cincinnati this week. the facebook package of 20 games will use the broadcast feed of one of the involved teams. the twitter feed of a game each friday, which started april 7, will be moved to tuesdays. ( darya ) san francisco police arrest man accused of breaking into cars...after he was spotted by witnesses at the scene of his latest crime. pictures of the suspect's car led police to the city's bay view district where 26-year-old marcus tyson was identified as the driver. officers say tyson was driving in a silver honda accord and searching for unoccupied cars to break into. police arrested tyson and booked him on charges of burglary. they also discovered he had an outstanding warrant. after searching his vehicle, officers found a loaded handgun. police are now looking to see if any other incidents involving his car have been reported. employee in pennsylvania could be facing charges after he was caught on camera lifting a student off the ground by the neck. you can see the 13-year-old boy's feet dangling as he was lifted off the ground and carried down the hallway. the man grabbing the student is a behavior specialist at the school. the man's lawyer says the incident happened after the boy repeatedly disobeyed directions and kept leaving class. the school says the boy was not injured. the school employee has been suspended while police investigate if a crime was committed. ( darya ) officials are racing to fix the damaged oroville dam spillway. california officials now plan to shut it down for the summer to get the spillway operational again before the next rainy season. the department of water resources says it will start scaling back on the water it releases down the spillway starting today. the shutdown will let construction crews rebuild the three-thousand foot long concrete spillway that was

damaged in february. crews will use the dam's hydroelectric power plant as the main way of releasing water during this summer's construction. the price tag for the project is 275- million dollars.
