(grant) new allegations against president trump's former national security adviser. democrats on the house intelligence committee say they have evidence that michael flynn lied to security investigators about payments he received from russian sources. flynn's lawyers said today he will plead the fifth and refuse to testify before a senate intelligence committee. both the senate and house committees are investigating russian meddling in last year's presidential election. the fifth amendment is the part of the bill of rights that protects citizens from being forced to incriminate themselves, whether they are testifying in a court of law or before a congressional committee. but there is an important exception. the amendment does not apply to financial records, like those subpoenaed by the committee. that means the general could be held in contempt of congress and sent to jail if he does not hand those records over. ( grant)this afternoon the washington post reported that president trump tried to pressure top intelligence

officials to deny any collusion between his campaign and russia.(vicki)all of this happeneing while he was half a world away in israel.he began his visit by doing something no other president has ever done.let's hear about it from catherine heenan. (catherine) many presidents have visited jerusalem's western wall ... but donald trump is the first to do so while still in office. it's the holiest place where jews are allowed to pray in jerusalem. palestinians consider the wall part of the occupied west bank. because of its controversial status, the president's visit was a private one, with no israeli officials present. but he did make reference to it - at a meeting with prime minister benjamin netanyahu. i was deeply moved by my visit today to the western wall. words fail to capture the experience. it will leave an impression on me forever.a warm welcome awaited the president on the second stop of the his first international trip. "we are more than friends, great allies."

"we had a terrific discussion today and when i say terrific it applies to everything."even the reports that trump leaked highly classified israeli intelligence to russian officials did not dampen the meetings. just so you understand, i never mentioned the word or the name israel. never mentioned it during that conversation." the prime minister reaffirming a solid relationship. "intelligence cooperation is terrific." tomorrow, the president heads to the west bank and meetings with palestinian leaders. "this includes a renewed effort at peace between the israelis and the palestinians... it's not easy. i've heard it's one of the toughest deals of all." (catherine) on wednesday, trump flies to rome to meet with the pope at the vatican.after that - it's brussels for a nato meeting....then back to italy for a g=seven summit on friday and saturday. grant and vicki?

on the way here, i was listening to some local sports radio and the hosts were saying....'well, it's not over yet and at least the spurs have a puncher's chance.'that may be the case, but tonight, golden state is going for the knockout blow. it really is amazing how much has changed in a year, last season the warriors were in the middle of a 7-game battle with the thunder.... this time around, they can go for a 3rd-consecutive sweep and stay undefeated in the playoffs. how appropriate that today an espn article comes out with kevin durant saying he has no regrets in signing with golden state and he wants to stay long term. he's been the difference...and a big part of the reason why the warriors haven't had to go through any hard tests. and tonight--- the warriors can end this series...and rest for a week and a half before the finals.
