( james ) the latest terror attacks hit home in london for one folsom mother. the man strolling down the street beer in hand as others flee from the attacks. it went viral because many say it was a symbol of defiance. but when dena stephen saw the picture, she saw her boys. the four men on the left are dena's son and his friends. they were on a three-week

backpacking trip through europe when the terrorist attack prompted the evactuation of their hotel. ( james ) dena's son contacted her to say he was safe before she had even learned about the attack. the four men plan to complete their trip as planned. dena says she worries about the men but does not want them to live their lives in fear. ( james ) police in the philipenes say the suspect behind the casino attack in manila who killed more than 30 people was a heavily indebted man who was hooked on gambling. police say he was over 80 thousand dollars in debt due to his obsession with casino gambling. staff and guests were among the 37 people who died in the attack. police in the philippines say that the attack was a robbery and not an act of terrorism. ( james ) in the south bay. police are looking for the attacker who stabbed a man in san jose. the attack

happened just before6:00 saturday night on east saint john and north fourth streets. the victim was taken to the hospital with stab wounds and has life threatening injuries. there is no clear descrption of the attacker. ( james ) in the east bay. police shoot a man driving a stolen car in san leandro. it's a story we first broke yesterday on kron four news weekend. the shooting happened around 3:00 yesterday morning on saint marys street. police say the man fired at officers who then returned fire. the suspect is in stable condition. the officers involved in the shooting were not injured. ( james ) the golden state warriors are now just two wins away from bringing the n-b-a championship back to the bay area. head coach steve kerr returned to the sidelines after missing most of the post-season with lingering back pain. and the dubs didn't dissapoint. golden state dominated the cavs throughout game two last night and won 132 to 113. kevin

( james @ bam ) a historic church in the east bay that went up in flames last year is back open this morning. this is video of the blaze at the first congregationalist church last september. the church held its first service yesterday morning. kron four's hemela aregawi was in berkeley where she spoke to members of the church. for eight months members of berkeley's first congregationa l church's sanctuary worshipp elsewhere.but this morning, they held a service here.the tightnit community boasts about 400 members. many of whom returned for the grand reopening.susan aberg/church member.i felt like it was a big relief. and i felt like i was coming home. because we've

been kind of wandering for the last six months or so. and other congregations and synogogues have taken us in.. last septemeber, the four alarm fire ripped through the church causing parts of the roof to collapse.it left behind about 9 million dollars in damage.the members were able to raise about 100- thousand towards repairs but the building is still aways away from full rehabilitation. susan aberg/church memberi believe it has challenged us, but i feel stronger personally and i can see the leaders in the congregation feel stronger too and that's been rewarding. kit novotny/church member relief, joy, tears, and laughter mixed together. the fire has shaped us. i think it's changed us. it's made us stronger, more resilient. it's left some scars but i think we're stronger at the healing places ( james ) police in sacramento are investigating a shooting and car fire this

morning. gun-fire went off in the brentwood neighborhood early sunday morning. just moments later, a car slammed into a tree and burst into flames. people say police were flying down the street responding to the reports of gun shots. one man says he had to flag officers down with his flashlight. ( james ) several neighbors tried to bring hoeses, but they couldn't reach across the street. the officers were able to pull the driver out of the car. that person is now recovering at a hospital, still in critical condition. detectives are investigating the crash and the shooting as one case. ( james ) 14 people are under arrest after pro-and anti trump rallies turned violent in portland. the rallies were in response to the deadly stabbing of two portland men who tried to stop a man's anti-muslim tirade.

police began clearing the area after they said protesters were hurling objects at officers. the rally was originally organized by a conservative group in support of president trump. a number of community groups organized counter demonstrations to rally against hate and racism. officers in riot gear had to use pepper spray to subdue the crowds. accident blocking the left lane ( james ) happening now. a young man from the peninsula has been missing for more than a week and his family is doing everything they can think of to find him. richard moss hasn't been seen since may 25th, and searchers are coming up empty. kron four's spencer blake has the story from half moon bay. ( james ) a mountain biker was rescued over the weekend after being injured while biking on mount diablo. this is video of the man being airlifted to safety by a sheriff's helicopter. sheriffs officials say the man was near north peak trail in a somewhat steep area with unstable trails. a paramedic was lowered to evaluate the man. because of his injuries and his unstable location, crews decided to airlift him out. he was taken to the hospital. the victim has a broken leg but is expected to be okay. ( james ) a rock climber made history completing a nail biting climb. alex honnold became the first person to climb the face of el capitan in yosemite national park without ropes or safety gear. other climbers also tried to scale the massive granite wall. honnold completed the "free solo" climb in nearly four hours. the three-thousand foot climb used to take days to complete with the help of ropes, safety gear

and a partner. in the past few decades, speed climbers working in tandem and using ropes work to set new records in reaching the top of the cliff. ( darya ) state officials are testing a new warning system at the oroville dam. the new siren was installed to replace the old one which was lost in february as water flowed down the emergency spillway. engineers are also working to find out why the spillway failed, forcing the evacuation of nearly 200- thousand people. so far they have identified 24 possible areas that could have contributed to the damage. many people who evacuated their homes say they are more prepared if the dam fails again. ( darya ) crews are now demolishing parts of the old spillway. the goal is to have a new spillway operational by the next rainy season.

( james ) bill cosby's sexual assault trial gets under way in pennsylvania today. cosby is accused of sexually assaulting andrea constand 13-years ago. the former temple university employee says cosby drugged and raped her in his house near philadelphia. more than 50-other women have also accused cosby of sexual assault, but only one of them will testify in this trial. cosby has repeatedly denied all wrongdoing-- and is not expected to testify. and in court today to support cosby will be actress keshia knight pulliam who played cosby's daughter rudy on the cosby show. defense attorneys say she will serve as a reminder of cosby's former reputation as "america's dad." the trial is expected to last about two weeks. ( darya ) 14 people are under arrest after pro-and anti trump rallies turned violent in portland. the rallies were in response to the deadly stabbing of two portland men who tried to stop a man's anti-muslim tirade. police began clearing the

( darya ) happening today... a former oakland police officer will be in court for his role in the o-p-d sex scandal. brian bunton is charged with obstruction of justice and a misdemeanor prostitution charge. prosecutors argue that bunton should have arrested jasmine abuslin, formerly known as celeste guap, but instead encouraged her to continue to work as a prostitute. abuslin claims her relationship with bunton started when she was only 12-years-old. she says bunton tipped her off about an undercover prostitution sting

in oakland. several other officers from oakland and other police departments also face charges for their alleged involvement with abuslin. last week the city of oakland announced a nearly one million dollar settlement with abuslin. ( james ) a man stabbed in oakley over the weekend has died of his injuries. police say there was a fight between two people on a bus saturday afternoon. that fight then spilled out onto the sidewalk at main street and charles way. one of the men involved was stabbed. the other man was arrested. ( james ) a mountain biker was rescued over the weekend after being injured while biking on mount diablo. this is video of the man being airlifted to safety by a sheriff's helicopter. sheriffs officials say the man was near north peak trail in a somewhat steep area with unstable trails. a paramedic was lowered to evaluate the man. because of his injuries and his unstable location, crews decided to airlift him out. he was taken to the hospital. the victim has a broken leg but is expected to be okay.

under arrest for the murder of an australian tourist outside a san francisco hotel. it happened early friday morning. 33-year-old matthew bate got into an argument with two men that turned physical outside the da vinci villa hotel on van ness avenue in russian hill. police said no weapons were involved in the deadly fight. police made an arrest over the weekend... the suspect's name has not yet been released. ( darya ) fremont police have identified the man shot by an officer after they say he refused to put down a metal pipe. officers say rolonte simril was in a grocery store parking lot last week waving a metal pipe at people and threatening to hurt someone. officers ordered him to put down the pipe. they say he then ran away. police say an officer unsuccessfully tried to tase him. he then ignored several more orders to put down the pipe. police say he then threatened officers who shot him three

( james ) president trump is launching a major push for a one-trillion-dollar overhaul of the nation's roads and bridges. the white house is planning a series of events this week to highlight efforts to modernize highways and airports. president trump's agenda has been overshadowed by ongoing probes into whether campaign officials colluded with russian officials to influence the 20-16 election, as well as scrutiny over president trump's firing of f-b-i director james comey. ( james ) former f-b-i director james comey will testify before the senate intelligence committee this week. the testimony involves the investigation into possible coordination between the campaign of president donald trump and russian officials. comey

( darya ) bill cosby's sexual assault trial is getting under way in pennsylvania. the comedian walked into the courtroom just moments ago. cosby is accused of sexually assaulting andrea constand 13-years ago. the former temple university employee says cosby drugged and raped her in his house near philadelphia. more than 50-other women have also accused cosby of sexual

( darya ) a good samaritan risked his life to jump into a moving car and save another driver having a seizure in illinois....( james ) this is police dashcam video of the incident. the driver of a truck pulled over after realizing another driver was suffering a seizure at the wheel. he jumps out of his car and dives through the open passenger side window and is

( darya ) a 94-year-old woman has made history by becoming the oldest woman to run a half marathon. harriette thompson finished the rock-n-roll half marathon yesterday in san diego.( james ) this isn't the first time the two-time cancer survivor and grandmother has set records. in 2015...she became the oldest person ever to finish a full marathon at the age of 92.( darya ) thompson admits record setting is not what has kept her going, but raising money toward cancer research.

( james ) police raids continue in london this morning after the weekend terror attack that left seven people dead and dozens more injured. so far 12 people have been arrested. the attack started with a van mowing down pedestrians on the london bridge saturday night. then three attackers began stabbing people at random before being shot dead by police. this morning we have learned that police have identified the attackers but have not released their names. speaking at an event last night, president trump pledged to step up efforts against terrorism.

started when she was only 12-years-old. she says bunton tipped her off about an undercover prostitution sting in oakland. several other officers from oakland and other police departments also face charges for their alleged involvement with abuslin. last week the city of oakland announced a nearly one million dollar settlement with abuslin. ( darya ) a young man from the peninsula remains missing this morning. 22-year-old richard moss was last seen on may 25th at his home in montara. his mother saw him the morning he disappeared and at some point in the day, he left in his car-- a blue 2001 hyundai tiburon. richard's father lives in hawaii and is now in the bay area helping search for his son. he says he doesn't think richard would have intentionally left without telling anyone.

simril was in a grocery store parking lot last week waving a metal pipe at people and threatening to hurt someone. officers ordered him to put down the pipe. they say he then ran away. police say an officer unsuccessfully tried to tase him. he then ignored several more orders to put down the pipe. police say he then threatened officers who shot him three times. climber made history completing a nail biting climb. alex honnold became the first person to climb the face of el capitan in yosemite national park without ropes or safety gear. these are pictures of some of his previous climbs. honnold completed the "free solo" climb in nearly four hours. the three-thousand foot climb used to take days to complete with the help of ropes, safety gear and a partner. in the past few decades, speed climbers working in tandem and using ropes work to set new records in reaching the top of the cliff. weekend in florida by space-x. it sent its first recycled cargo ship into orbit... with the final destination being the international space station. the falcon rocket lifted off from cape canaveral... with a capsule that had been used about three years ago. the booster used in yesterday's launch was new... but it returned to earth and space-x plans to reuse it as well. the capsule is suppose to reach the international space station later today.
