sheriff's office is investigating after officers a kid was stabbed in front of the millbrae library. it happened at around 2:30 this afternoon. officers say a 40 year old man approached a 13 year old boy and stabbed him...in each arm.... with a pocket knife. ...he has been taken to the hospital. the suspect has been detained. officers are asking people to avoid the area. we have a news crew on the way to the scene and will have more info when it becomes available. schaaf/oakland mayor 25-33this is a combination of immediate, medium term as well as how do we prevent homelessness in the first place her budget proposal commits 185 million dollars to fight homelessness over the next two years among the proposals, bringing port- a-potties and regular garbage service to 10 of the city's major encampments, the mayor says that will not only benefit those living on the streets, but those in the neighborhood as well sot everyone benefits if we can control these impacts but do it in a compassionate and realistic wayfunds for a new navigation center serving 300 people is also part of the proposal but that is likely a year away. in the short term, the plan calls sheltering 60 people in a city sponsored encampment called an outdoor safe haven navigation center. sot it will be a controlled area but one that will allow us to move people from the sidewalks while keeping a community intact. controlling access so people can get services and support in an improved condition while we wait for transitional housing to become available.standup

actress glenne headly died last night... and as of right now we don't know the cause of her death or where she died. headly was known from performances in "dirty rotten scoundrels" and "mr. holland's opus," and the miniseries "lonesome dove." she also had recurring roles on "er" and "monk," the 62-year-old was in the middle of filming the hulu series "future man" alongside josh hutcherson and ed begley junior. headly is survived by her husband and son. winter, where 36 people died, came out fighting today. the attorneys accused the alameda district attorney of grand standing saying their client should not be held responsible for the criminal prosecution of those who died. earlier this week, the alameda da charged derick almena and max harris the creative director with 36 counts of involuntary manslaughter. she said the two created hazardous conditions in the warehouse that amounted to a death trap. however, almena's legal team and wife countered the charges are all a rouse and draw focus away from the real issues.

shut down yesterday after the slide pushed tons ofmud, branches and boulders onto the road. today - it's still a mess although there are now one-way traffic controls. that will probably be the case through saturday - and maybe all day sunday. it's happening in a rural area between white hall and kyburz. one of the scary moments thursday -- the driver of one of the heavy pieces of equipment discovered the hillside had not stopped moving... caltrans engineer - yeah, he was up here and it cut loose and he and the excavator traveled down the hillside together. fortunately no on was hurt. we figured it was a danger to the highway. caltrans says that more than 50 truckloads of debris are being hauled away. drivers are being told to expect 90-minute delays.... crews are working around the clock to clear the mud....and stabilize the slope.
